Once Upon a Cowboy Maggie McGinnis

What's the book about:
Yoga instructor Jessalyn Alcott radiates peace, calm, and serenity—on the outside. Inside, she still feels like the broken, desperate girl from the trailer park. She's got dark secrets she can't share, which is why she never lets her relationships go beyond the third date. But when she travels to the Whisper Creek dude ranch for a friend's wedding, Jess is enchanted by a cowboy whose deep blue eyes, dimpled smile, and rock-hard body make it tough to remember why she keeps running scared.

Cole Driscoll has struggled to find his place on a family ranch where he's always played second fiddle. His future might be uncertain, but he's sure of one thing: He wants Jess by his side. Easier said than done. When it comes to getting close, she's full of excuses, and he longs to fix the hurt he sees in her eyes. Now that she's at Whisper Creek, there's nothing he wants more than to break down the walls around her heart and heal her pain with the power of love.

My thoughts on the book:

Jessalyn has everything together on the outside. She is so happy to be going back to Whispering Creek and see her best friends and attending another wedding, but most excited to have a break and secretly see Cole. As she walking out the door the past comes and haunts her she thought she hid all that and left it in the past she never thought it would come and find her, now what is she going to do? Cole is really struggling with finding who he is, where he stands, and where he belongs. He is ready for this wedding to be over and have his ranch back. He is so excited to see Jess again but when she shows up he knows he's in trouble in more ways then one and he's ready to figure out Jess.
I loved this book, this is one of those book that with in the first page its starts off really good and just gets better with each page. There are some really tough issues dealt with and some not so fun topics but that only made the book that much better. There is so much chemistry and love in this book that you just want the book never to end. This book is so worth the read and is so enjoyable.

Accidentally in Love Laura Drewry

What's the book about:
Ellie Palmer and cops don’t mix, and getting pulled over by Officer Brett Hale—again—doesn’t help. Neither does being forced to take a safe-driving course with him. Brett’s by-the-book attitude leaves Ellie ice-cold, and his rock-hard body won’t change that. Still, the more time she spends with the guy, the more she finds herself warming up to his unexpected charms.

Even though Brett comes off like a boy scout, Ellie has sparked something he wants badly enough to get him to rethink his past mistakes. But when her ex shows up, Brett makes it his mission to keep Ellie safe in the here and now. His gut tells him the guy’s trouble, and Ellie must agree, because she doesn’t complain when Brett pulls her close. To keep her safe, though, he’ll have to choose between breaking her heart . . . and breaking the rules.

My thoughts on the book:
To say Ellie Palmer doesn't like cops would be being really nice, she hates them is more like it. Only problem is she has a lead foot and has run ins with one cop repeatedly he seems to have it out for her and his last time pulling who over is no exception to that rule. Problem is now she is forced to interact with a cop because of her ticket, and then part of her past comes and faces her and she knows she has no where to turn to or does she.
Brett Hale has one nemesis speeding and has no problem pulling people over who do it. His moto is safety first. He is not sure what Ellie's problem is and wants to know why she has it out for cops its not like its a secret that she doesn't want anything to do with them. When Brett is faced with solving a case involving Ellie he knows he need to prove to her not  all cops are bad and not all cops have it out for her.
This is a really fun book it starts off strong and stays that way till the end of the book. Ellie and her craziness is fun, the interactions she has with her crazy friends is no exception to the rule. The chemistry between the characters starts off not even there really and builds up to amazing its not a slow process but prefect. I think the only thing I can say about the book I did not like was the book could have done with out so much of the cursing. Over all this book is fun and really enjoyable. The pace is steady and you find yourself having a hard time putting it down.

Bachelorette for Sale West Side romance #1 Gail Chianese

What's the book about:

As far as Cherry Ryan is concerned, the bright lights of Hollywood are nothing but glare after her heart is broken on a reality show for millions to see. Instead she's throwing herself into fundraising for the local community center that was a priceless lifeline to her as a kid. But when a volunteer for the singles auction bails at the last minute, Cherry finds herself on the block—and sold to Jason Valentine, a handsome contractor with a gorgeous body—and a really bad attitude about her days in the limelight…
Cherry soon finds that Jason's more than eye candy, and not entirely sweet—especially his quest to win the bid for the center's renovation. Mixing business with pleasure doesn't seem like such a good idea—until Jason has a chance to reveal the big heart beneath his surly exterior. Cherry's falling for him hard, but trust isn't easy when you've been burned. To conquer her fears will take a giant leap of faith—straight into the spotlight again…

My thoughts on the book:

Cherry has had it with men and she is ready to just live life and enjoy the small thing right now with out adding guy or relationship in her life. First and foremost she wants to get the center up and going and keep her grandparents from killing each other, but it seems that the world and her best friend/sister has other plans, will she be able to follow through and deal with what else was in store or will she have to walk away and learn to love again in another time in her life?  Jason has about had it with having to deal with everything being so much hard then it needs to be. He is working really hard to get his business off the ground but it seem that other people have plans and he is ready to loose it. He is also ready to kill Dave a slow and painful death he doesn't need him medalling in his personal life right now and when he get caught off guard on his way to impress the people who could make or break his business.
I thought this book was a fun read over all. There was parts in the book it really had you guessing what was going to happen next and have you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages wanting to find out. There was a small and I mean small part where it dragged for a few pages but not so bad it took away from the story or the book it self. I really enjoyed the fun in the book and the over all likeness of the characters. you really can not go wrong with this book. I will say about 3/4 away through I kept hoping that there was going to be a sequel to this book I was glad to see there is can't wait to read more about these fun friends.

Again Alabama Susan Sands

What's the book about:
Cammie Laroux is back in Alabama—again.

Dragged back to her small town to help her mother recover from surgery while rescuing the family event planning business should be a cinch. Even for a disgraced television chef, right? Wrong.

Among the many secrets Cammie’s family’s been hiding is the fact that their historic home is falling down. Oh, and the man hired to restore the house, Grey Harrison, is the same high school and college love of her life who thrashed her heart and dreams ten years ago. Yeah, that guy.

Grey, a widower with a young daughter, has never stopped loving Cammie, and when they are face to face once again, the chemistry is off the charts. Cammie may be in full-blown denial, but letting go is no longer in Grey’s vocabulary, even when winning Cammie’s forgiveness and renovating their love may seem like an impossible build even for a master architect and carpenter.

As Cammie finds herself forgetting all the reasons she can’t trust Grey or love again, he finds himself remembering all the reasons he wants her to stay with him in Alabama… forever.

My thoughts on the book:

Cammie is tricked into coming back to her home town the one place she has always wanted out, it holds memories that she would rather stay in the past locked away where they can not sneak out at cause "misery". One her first day in town she faces her family and a memory that is best left just that or at least thats what she tells her siblings why they wait out moms surgery. Grey, is set to start work on his neighbors house when he is faced with the love of his life who he has not seen in 10 years, and the 10years has been nothing but heartache. Expect for his beautiful daughter his is headstrong and ready to take on him and the world if need be. He has one thing on his mind is getting the love of his life back and nothing will stop him or so he thinks.

I really had a fun time reading this book there were ups and downs in the book but in a good way. There were some tough subject brought up that not many authors I see write about but this author handled it with such grace and didn't in a way to write a story about it with out making it the whole story or making the story seem to heavy. I loved the characters in the story the struggles were real. The chemistry with not just the 2 main characters but with most was amazing and well written. I loved the brother/sister ness she brought to the book, no family is perfect but she had a fun way of making this family fun and wanting them to be friends. this book is worth the read, for sure.

Blueprints Barbara Delinsky

What's the book about:
Some women are born with an instinct for knowing how things work
-and what to do when they break.

Caroline MacAfee is a skilled carpenter, her daughter Jamie, a talented architect. Together they are the faces of Gut It!, a home renovation series on local public television. Caroline takes pride in her work, and in the way she connects with the show's audience. But when she is told the network wants her daughter to replace her as host-the day after Caroline's fifty-sixth birthday-she is devastated. The fallout couldn't come at a worse time.
For Jamie, life changes overnight when, soon after learning of the host shift, her father and his new wife die in a car accident that orphans their two-year-old son. Accustomed to organization and planning, she is now grappling with a toddler who misses his parents, a fiancĂ© who doesn't want the child, a staggering new attraction, and a work challenge that, if botched, could undermine the future of both MacAfee Homes and Gut It!
For Caroline, hosting Gut It! is part of her identity. Facing its loss, she feels betrayed by her daughter and old in the eyes of the world. Her ex-husband's death thrusts her into the role of caregiver to his aging father. And then there's Dean, a long-time friend, whose efforts to seduce her awaken desires that have been dormant for so long that she feels foreign to herself.
Who am I? Both women ask, as the blueprints they've built their lives around suddenly need revising. While loyalties shift, decisions hover, and new relationships tempt, their challenge comes not only in remaking themselves, but in rebuilding their relationship with each other.

My thoughts on the book:
I usually summarize the main characters and my thoughts on each one and there parts in the book. For this book I won't do that because I feel like for the first portion of the book there were to many characters and to much going on. Towards the middle of the book it did come down to mother and daughter and there views, which is different for a book about life and romance. I felt with this book there was to many details and the book could have been from Caroline's and Dean's point of view and her and Dean's story and then another book  written about Jamie and Chip's story to include the a different view to include the guys point of view and that may have made the story a little bit more interesting. I feel that the story lagged and the amount of detail even down to the design on plates, really took away from the story because it was to much and to overwhelming at points. There were good parts in the story but that was about half way through and then it went up and down from there. Over all I didn't like this book that much, I can't give it a one rating because it was not the bad. I would say this is about a 2 1/2 star for sure.
