Description:

They can’t let this wedding happen
But

Convinced the two aren’t right for each other, Chaz and Yvonne are determined to halt the wedding. But between the cake and family drama, they’re discovering an undeniable attraction. Can an unlikely match ever become a recipe for happiness?

My thoughts on the book:

I am sad to see this series end I totally loved this series and I think this book was the perfect ending to it. I found Yvonne and Chaz like the cutest. They both faced some tough things and life and in different points in there life but instead of being victims they are being stronger and working hard to make life better. I loved Aunt P she was seriously the sweetest and I think we all need and aunt P in our lives. I hope that we might be able to read Wyatt's story in the future, just the little he was in the story it made me want to know more. I found this book hard to put down the author did an amazing job and keeping you drawn in. Total pager turner and keeps you going from beginning to end. This book is well worth the read.

IT'S IN HIS ARMS - Mitchell & Lorenda's Story
IT'S IN HIS FOREVER - Langston & Sandra's Story

My thoughts on the book:

This was a super quick read. I know its a novella but the story while good still felt very rushed to me. I did love Ms. Francine, she is so fun and has this thing about her, while she comes off as a busy body she seems more like she just wants to make sure everyone needs to know what they need to know and when, she totally add laughed to some very serious situations. I like Hailey and Dylan there story is predictable but over all was worth the read if you have been following the Red River Valley series. Such a fun group of books so far. There is sex in this book so it might not be for all readers. If you are looking for a really quick read then this book is just that and it won't disappoint.

A Cowboy's Salvation Megan Ryder

Description:
He wanted to be left in peace…

West Morgan knows all about second chances. After bouncing from foster home to foster home, he finally landed at the Rawlings Ranch as a teenager. There he found a home, something he’d never thought possible. Now an adult, he realizes he’s been given much more: a family and, most importantly, peace. But when his mentor dies and leaves the property divided among his foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara Rawlings, the fragile future he’s built for himself is threatened.

She wanted to be free of her past…

Tara Rawlings swore she’d never end up with someone like her father, a man completely focused on the ranch to the exclusion of his loved ones. She created a new life for herself in San Francisco, running an interior design company and getting married, then divorced. When she returns to settle her father’s estate, she finds that her birthright is in jeopardy. And the only way to save it is to work with West Morgan, the one man she has always resented—and always found irresistible.

Can they save the ranch without killing each other … or falling in love?

My thoughts on the book:

Tara is forced to come home and face the demons of her past and present. I liked that she had this strong head on her and she really seems to take everything in stride. I was however not a huge fan of West I kind of had a love/hate relationship with him. I did like Ty and Chase they always seem to be your typical little brothers who like to pick on the older one. The story did get to me emotionally because with everything Tara faced my heart just broke for her. There is some cursing and sex in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. Over all I enjoyed reading about these fun characters. I hope that Ty and Chase find their happily ever afters.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The Trouble with Cowboy Weddings Nicole Helm

Description:

From Nicole Helm, the author of the national bestselling Stone Cold, Navy Seal Cowboys, and Big Sky Cowboys series!

In Colorado’s glorious big-sky country, everything is done with cowboy flair—even boot-stomping, hat-tipping cowboy weddings . . .

As the middle Tyler brother, Gavin doesn’t always have much say in ranch decisions, but when it comes to his heart, he’s the only authority. He’s loved Louisa “Lou” Fairchild for longer than he can remember, even though they’ve never been more than friends. But with Lou stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place, Gavin is going to help the way any true friend would—with a proposal of a strictly business-like, in-name-only marriage . . . at least to start.

Lou can’t believe her beloved grandmother has backed her up against the wall. The choice between finding a man to marry and letting her no-good father back into the family to run the ranch isn’t a choice at all! But when her sister counters with an even less savory idea, Lou knows what she must do—say yes to the only man she’s ever trusted. But somehow pretending to be in love with good-natured Gavin suddenly begins to feel alarmingly real—and she downright likes it.

Can a sham marriage become the truest kind of love?

Praise for Nicole Helm’s previous romances

“Perfect for fans of Susan Mallery and Jill Shalvis.”—Kirkus Reviews

“A deeply moving contemporary. . . . The protagonists are refreshingly willing to be up front about their feelings and listen to each other, and readers will want to revisit their story often.”
—Publishers Weekly STARRED REVIEW

My thoughts on the book:

So as many readers have I am sure at on point or another you have read a book on marriage of convince, this book has the feel one hundred percent. However the way the author had it played out it just never felt that way. I really found the story was really cute and had a fun feel to it. I really like Gavin he showed he was the strong silence type but also had a soft side. I loved Lou she was such a spitfire and no matter what she face she fought hard but loved even harder. The grandma's and the busbody Tyler's were always up to no good. I think personally coming from a large family I can see how Gavin just wants a bread for a minute from all there nosiness. This book does have strong language and adult situations so may not be for all readers. Over all this was a fun book. Can't wait to read more from these families. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

“A brilliant writer you’ll love creates a world you’ll never want to leave.”—Susan Mallery, New York Times bestselling author

My thoughts on the book:

I love reading books by this author. She really has a way of drawing you into the story and keeping you there. I really liked the three cousins and I can’t wait to read more about Boone and Tucker. I really like Angelica she was like a kindred spirit all spit fire and sass but had a way of showing love while doing it. I was never a fan of Shanon even in the end I just didn’t like her I felt like she was a master manipulator and Jackson seemed to play into some. I liked how the author through a twist into the story I didn’t see coming it really felt like it added another element to the story and it definitely grabs your attention. I like that, over all this story was a good clean read and I can’t wait to see what the author was in store for these characters. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Andrew Jennifer Beckstrand -The Petersheim Brother #1

Description:

Andrew, Abraham, and Austin Petersheim’s family business has earned them the nickname The Peanut Butter Brothers. But if their matchmaking younger siblings have their way, all three may soon bear another title: husband . . .

Handsome, hardworking, and godly, Andrew Petersheim has always been sure of his place in his Wisconsin Amish community. He’ll be a welcome catch for the local girl who finally captures his heart. Mary Coblenz certainly isn’t that girl. Two years after “jumping the fence” for the Englischer world, she’s returned, unmarried and pregnant. Yet instead of hiding in shame as others in the community expect, she’s working at the Honeybee Farm, ignoring the gossips—and winning over Andrew’s eight-year-old twin brothers . . .

For all Andrew’s certainty about right and wrong, it seems he has a lot to learn from Mary’s courage, grace, and resilience. She’s changing his notions about forgiveness and love, but will she in turn accept the challenge of starting over and choose to stay—with him?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved Alfi, Bitzy, and Benji, they hand down were my favorite characters they added a element to the story. This story has your emotions all over the place for sure. The author has you laughing, crying and wanting to punch someone all in the same chapter. I love how strong and stubborn Mary was she had a way of just shining off the pages. Andrew is one I had a love/hate relationship with some moments I wanted to hate him and then he would do something and I would love. I really loved how the author did not try and make the Amish these perfect people that some authors do, because of that the story makes it feel like I’m catching up with friends instead of fictional people. I really liked everything about this book. I loved that it was a good clean read and perfect for all, and that you find yourself not wanting to put it down. I hope there is more to come with this fun family, I really can’t imagine what the twins will cook up next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Maybe it’s finally time for them to walk off into the sunset and into a true and lasting love?

The Sometimes in Love series is:

“Playful, passionate, and positively unputdownable!”
—New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren

“Witty, sexy...Melonie Johnson is an addictive new voice in contemporary romance.” —New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker

My thoughts on the book:

So the best friends are back and now it’s Sadie’s turn. The book starts off full of action and draws you in. However later in the story (May be a spoil alert) but there is one part in the middle of the story where the main characters are in the middle of an argument and then ban they are making a deal to have sex, like wait what just happened how stupid seriously. What happened with the rest of the argument. Overall I was not a fan of this story Bo was kind of demanding and he talked a lot out the side of his mouth. Sadie just seem to not know what she wanted. Ana now that girl she was a pistol and was one of my favorites in this story. This book has a lot of cursing and sex so if that’s not you then this book is not for you.

My thoughts on the book:

Mission of love-

This book was cute. I found it interesting that in this story the author in a roundabout way mentioned that the way the Amish in this community were living was almost cult like. I guess I never really thought of it that way. I really enjoyed how Jace stood strong in his faith no matter what he faced. I liked how he also encouraged and tried to bring those he loved and cared about closer to God his love and actions. Over all I really thought this story was super cute

A Bid for love-

The story overall was cute. However I kept waiting for the next ball to drop, I guess I can say the author keeps you guessing on what’s really going on up till the last chapter. The love between Olivia and Gram was so sweet very much a clean read.

Plain Redemption

Sometimes the pain of loosing someone you love and guilt has a way of eating at you. This story just had away of getting to you in the heart. It draws you in and you find yourself not wanting to put the book down so you can find out what’s going on next. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and leaves you guessing till the end. Finding forgiveness is never easy no matter how you look at it.

Overall all three stories where really good. I liked how each had a lesson to learn. Each were a good clean story and well worth the read. It seemed like each story just flew by.

Ever Faithful Karen Barnett- A Vintage National Parks #3

Description:

Vibrant historic Yellowstone National Park comes to life in this romantic mystery about a man hiding the truth, braving the west to become something more--and the woman who must confront his deception.

A man who can't read will never amount to anything--or so Nate Webber believes. But he takes a chance to help his family by signing up for the new Civilian Conservation Corps, skirting the truth about certain "requirements." Nate exchanges the harsh Brooklyn streets for the wilds of Yellowstone National Park, curious if the Eden-like wonderland can transform him as well.
Elsie Brookes was proud to grow up as a ranger's daughter, but she longs for a future of her own. After four years serving as a maid in the park's hotels, she still hasn't saved enough money for her college tuition. A second job, teaching a crowd of rowdy men in the CCC camp, might be the answer, but when Elsie discovers Nate's secret, it puts his job as camp foreman in jeopardy. Tutoring leads to friendship and romance, until a string of suspicious fires casts a dark shadow over their relationship. Can they find answers before all of their dreams go up in smoke?

My thoughts on the book:

I don’t typically like historical books the language always throws me. However this book was not that way at all sometimes I would even forget I was reading a story from the 1930’s. This book was a super fun read I actually really liked it a lot. I was not a fan of Ranger Vaughn, not sure if the authors intent was to like him or dislike him, but for me he just rubbed me the wrong way all the way around. With Elsie and Nate both facing something in their past and having to over come it was interesting to see how they handled themselves. Oh my goodness in the end of the story, there is a twist and it’s not what you thought, through the whole book. I really genuinely like this book and this group of characters all but one of course. I liked that this book was a good clean read and perfect for all ages, while keeping you drawn into the story the whole time wondering what was going to happen next. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all.

Songs of America Jon Meacham; Tim McGraw

Description:

A celebration of American history through the music that helped to shape a nation, by Pulitzer Prize winner Jon Meacham and music superstar Tim McGraw

“Jon Meacham and Tim McGraw form an irresistible duo—connecting us to music as an unsung force in our nation's history.”—Doris Kearns Goodwin

Through all the years of strife and triumph, America has been shaped not just by our elected leaders and our formal politics but also by our music—by the lyrics, performers, and instrumentals that have helped to carry us through the dark days and to celebrate the bright ones.

From “The Star-Spangled Banner” to “Born in the U.S.A.,” Jon Meacham and Tim McGraw take readers on a moving and insightful journey through eras in American history and the songs and performers that inspired us. Meacham chronicles our history, exploring the stories behind the songs, and Tim McGraw reflects on them as an artist and performer. Their perspectives combine to create a unique view of the role music has played in uniting and shaping a nation.

Beginning with the battle hymns of the revolution, and taking us through songs from the defining events of the Civil War, the fight for women’s suffrage, the two world wars, the Great Depression, the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and into the twenty-first century, Meacham and McGraw explore the songs that defined generations, and the cultural and political climates that produced them. Readers will discover the power of music in the lives of figures such as Harriet Tubman, Franklin Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King, Jr., and will learn more about some of our most beloved musicians and performers, including Marian Anderson, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Duke Ellington, Carole King, Bruce Springsteen, and more.

Songs of America explores both famous songs and lesser-known ones, expanding our understanding of the scope of American music and lending deeper meaning to the historical context of such songs as “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” “God Bless America,” “Over There,” “We Shall Overcome,” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.” As Quincy Jones says, Meacham and McGraw have “convened a concert in Songs of America,” one that reminds us of who we are, where we’ve been, and what we, at our best, can be.

My thoughts on the book:

Now a days we take music and the meaning for granted. This book was kind of the history of music and some songs that impacted our country all these years later. The authors did an amazing job at doing research and telling the story of some well known songs and how they came about. Some of these songs I grew up singing and can’t ever remember where they came from. Like most some of the stories told in this book we were taught in school and others I don’t ever remember hearing. It gives me a whole new appreciation for those who came before us and paved the road for us in one way or another. The authors also manager to right a story or those lives and how their lives where impacted by the times and what took place.
I have always loved history and I feel like this book gives you a whole other look into the history of music and how poetry was just as important to song writing even in the 1700's when America was found. With everything going on in our government it was a reminder of what our forefathers intended for our country, and how even some of this men failed at their best intention. Over all if you like music of any kind or like history I would recommend this book if gives you a whole new respect for both. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

The Perfect Date Evelyn Lozada; Holly Lorincz

Description:

When a single mom ends up playing an unwilling fake girlfriend to a charming playboy baseball player, love suddenly turns everything upside down in this fun, heartwarming multicultural romance.
Angel Gomez has never lived by the book. A Bronx-based unwed mother by the time she was sixteen, Angel’s personal mission has always been to show the world that a Puerto Rican girl is not to be messed with—especially by a man. The only thing that matters to Angel, now, is providing for her son and earning enough tips at the club to complete her nursing degree along the way. Love is nowhere on her agenda.
Caleb “The Duke” Lewis is a star pitcher for the Bronx Bolts whose romantic escapades make delicious fodder for gossip columns. But lately he’s been trying to keep a lower profile—so much so that when he meets Angel, first while she’s in her nurse uniform and the next time behind the bar, she has no idea who Duke is, fails to fall for his obvious charm, and ends up throwing a drink in his face! She is the perfect woman for Duke...to fool the tabloids into thinking he’s finally settling down. But what begins as a charade soon has Duke and Angel hurtling into a full-blown romance that rocks each of their worlds and begs the question: Is this the real deal—or are some love stories just too good to be true?

My thoughts on the book:

These authors are new to me so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really liked how the book started off where they took a single mom who was kicking butts to make something for her and her son, and that's where it stopped for me. I felt like Angel was built up as this independent women and was make something for herself and the she caved to a real jerk. I was not a fan of "the Duke" at all, they tried to make him the hero of the story and I was done at that. The story I guess you could say gives you an eye into what its like for some of the rich in famous with drug use, sex, unfaithfulness, parting and guns. In the end I felt it was abrupt and kind of leaves you to finish what happened with the main story line. Over all this book was not a book I could say I would recommend it was not a book for me that's for sure. There is a lot of cursing and graphic details in this book so it may not be for all readers. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The Cowboy's Daughter Jamie K. Schmidt - Three Sister's Ranch #1

Description:
She’s moved home, but can she move on?

One night with professional bull rider Trent Campbell had been everything that Kelly Sullivan had fantasized about. Unfortunately, it cost her everything. When she became pregnant, her father threw her out because she wouldn’t tell him the baby's father was his rodeo hero—the hero who ghosted her when she tried so many times to tell him about their daughter.

Trent Campbell never forgot the best night of his life. It was what kept him going when a 2,000-lbs bull ended his career and almost his life. Throughout his long recovery, thinking of Kelly and wishing he still had his stolen phone so he could contact her, were what got him through the tough days—that, and his bull-headed stubbornness that he’d not only walk again, he’d ride.

When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas, in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by turning part of the land into a portrait studio location. Her father, however, has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into her life, it won’t only be her heart he breaks this time if he leaves, it will be their daughter’s.

My thoughts on the book:

At first I found the book quite predictable, but that’s where it’s stops. After the first few chapters the author put a fun spin on things and kept my interest throughout. I wanted to know what was happening and where she was going next in the story. I loved the three sisters they were fun to read about and have their own independent attitude but also take no prisoners or it’s all of them or nothing. Alissa that small part she appeared in the story he personality just jumped off the pages. I was not a fan at all of Frank even in the end I felt like he got what was coming to him and I was over him. This book does have strong language and sex, but otherwise a really good book. I would totally recommend this fun and quick read can’t wait to see what happens next at three sister ranch.

Moments We Forget Beth K. Vogt - Thatcher sister series

Description:

Jillian Thatcher has spent most of her life playing the family peacemaker, caught in the middle between her driven, talented older sister and her younger, spotlight-stealing twin sisters. Then on the night of her engagement party, a cancer diagnosis threatens to once again steal her chance to shine.

Now, Jillian’s on the road to recovery after finally finishing chemo and radiation, but residual effects of the treatment keep her from reclaiming her life as she’d hoped. And just when her dreams might be falling into place, a life-altering revelation from her husband sends her reeling again.

Will Jillian ever achieve her own dreams, or will she always be “just Jillian,” the less-than Thatcher sister? Can she count on her sisters as she tries to step into a stronger place, or are they stuck in their childhood roles forever?

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book for me by this author, I really enjoyed it. This book follows the journey of three sisters each faced with a time in their lives that they have been hit the hardest. When the book first starts out you are reading about Jill, I would have to say most the book is about her and the journey she faces after dealing with breast cancer. However there are parts of the book that you read about the other sister, I wish those were labeled who you were catching up with, as the book is written in a first person telling and sometimes it takes a second to realize the characters have changed. This book is a good clean read, some parts will really get to your heart. Over all I really enjoyed this read.

Snowed in with the Single Dad Melinda Curtis -The Mountain Monroes #2

Description:

Never trust a Monroe—

Especially if she steals your heart!

To mayor and single dad Mitch Kincaid, Second Chance, Idaho, is something of a time capsule, and he wants to keep it that way. His problem? Gorgeous pregnant redhead Laurel Monroe, who, along with her family, now owns the town. But sometimes all it takes is an unexpected opportunity—and a snowstorm—to turn Mitch’s bad first impressions into a second chance at love!

My thoughts on the book:
Who doesn’t deserve a second chance? Well what better place to get it the Second Chance Idaho. The Monroe’s are back in this fun read. I was not a huge fan of Mitch at first I wanted to punch him. Shane and Gabby could be friends the way those two conspire to do things just killed me but they kept the book lively with there antics. Oh Sophia that women has mama bear written all over her she doesn’t just protect her cubs she protects this she loves, and Laurel was not exempt from that. I can’t wait to read Sophia’s story. Laurel has this was about her that I liked she’s fighting for her independence but not quite sure how to get it, I felt like as she discovered who she was and what she was fighting for she found herself. I really enjoyed this fun read. This book is a clean read which was refreshing as well. So worth the read you won’t regret it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Firefighter Marco DiRossi wants to beat the matchmakers at their own game so he conspires with Theia to pretend they've already fallen in love. It's only for the summer. What could go wrong? Yet as the beach season draws to a close, Marco and Theia find their pretend relationship has led to very real attraction. But when a secret from the past is revealed, jeopardizing everything they hold dear, can this unlikely couple find their way to a happily-ever-after?

My thoughts on the book:

Whenever I get my hands on a Debbie Mason book I never know what fun things she will have in store. I loved this book so much, I really love the Gallaghers and the Greystone Manor, they are a fun group of people. I really liked Marco he seemed like a fun guy with a good heart. I think both Theia and Marco both in a way faced issues from their past but each had a way of facing it either head on or in a round about way but either way the book was super emotional and got right to the heart. I loved everything about this book, such a sweet read. There was some suspense to the book which made it a total pager turn and well worth the read. You really can go wrong with this fun read .
