A Family Under the Christmas Tree Terri Reed

Description:

In this heartwarming tale set during the Christmas season, a single father and a fashion photographer are brought together by a young boy and a mischievous Bernese mountain dog—but first they must learn to set aside their differences if they are willing to let their relationship bloom.

David Murphy never knew much about kids. But when his brother dies unexpectedly, David is granted custody of his six-year-old nephew, Troy, who he’s only seen once a year since he was born. He already has his hands full running his business, and he has no idea how to help the grieving boy. When Troy runs off one day, David finds him at a park playing with an adorable and rambunctious Bernese mountain dog—who leads him to Sophie.

Sophie Griffith has spent her life travelling around the world as a photojournalist. She has never stayed in one place for long, and her new assignment—helping her grandmother for a few weeks—is just temporary. Once Christmas day comes, Sophie is off the hook and can leave for a new adventure. Caring for her grandmother is a piece of cake—but caring for her new Bernese mountain dog, Riggs, is a different story. It doesn’t help that Riggs strikes up a friendship with a lost little boy one day at the park—and leads her to David.

Neither David nor Sophie have time for romance. But as they spend more time together, they start falling for each other even though they know it can’t go anywhere. Sophie will be gone after Christmas, and the last thing David needs is another distraction as he tries to comfort Troy. But as their faith and growing love for the boy and dog unites them, they wonder whether it’s more than a holiday romance…and maybe Troy might finally get his Christmas wish for a family.

My thoughts on the book:

Sophia is a photographer and is on her way to making a name for herself. When she gets a call that her grandma needs her off to Washington she goes, but it seems her grandma has some other plans. David is left his nephew after he looses his brother and sister in law unexpectedly. When his neighbors granddaughter comes to town she make him really see whats important and he starts to question if he has his priorities straight. Will he be able to see whats right in front of him or will he loose it all?
I loved this fun story. I love how the author took a sassy young boy who is healing and a sassy young dog who has the smarts thats to good for its own good. The personality of both in my opinion really added a ton of fun to this book. I really enjoyed the realness of the characters and how even though it wasn't based in a small town the characters gave that small town feel, in a way it felt you were catching up with friends. I loved that this was a good clean book and it reminds you of what the true mean of Christmas is all about and it also reminds you to cherish those close because you never know what tomorrow holds. You really can not go wrong with this fun Christmas story.

Merry Cowboy Christmas Carolyn Brown (Lucky Penny Ranch)

Description:

THIS CHRISTMAS, SANTA'S WEARING A STETSON
'Tis the night before Christmas and all through the house is the presence of one wickedly hot cowboy who's come to stay for the holiday. Fiona Logan is downright shocked to return to her childhood home and find that the tall blond stranger who came to her rescue on an icy road will be sleeping just across the hall from her bedroom. Talk about temptation . . .

Jud Dawson never believed the Lucky Penny Ranch would live up to its name until now. Fiona is gorgeous, smart, funny, and everything he thought he'd never find. Now all he has to do is convince her to stick around town instead of hightailing it back to Houston. But with wild weather, nosy neighbors, and a new baby in the family, getting her to admit that she's falling in love might just take a Christmas miracle.

My thoughts on the book:

Jud has finally caught up with his cousins on the Lucky Penny and he is itching to have what they have. A family and a future wife to adore, love and come home to every night. He's just not seeing that in the future right now and he is focusing on building this amazing ranch with his family. Fiona is coming home with a big secret and her family is welcoming her with open arms, she is surprised to see a hot sexy cowboy living across the hall from her. She knows it will be best for all involved to keep him at arms length. Will they both be able to exist and build a friendship and escape with the hearts in tact in the end or will they walk away broken hearted?
What a fun read and had a lot of fun catching up with the fun characters of Lucky Penny Ranch. I enjoyed this book it put me in the christmas spirit. It has some fun characters that start right off and some that you really want to know so that you can put them in there place, or maybe slap them. This book has the wonderful small town feel all of it. The language is on the strong side and there are some adult language in this book so its may not be for everyone. However if your looking a book full of fun sexy cowboys and some christmas flair then grab this book sit back and enjoy.

A Christmas Bride Hope Ramsay

Description:

A season of hope . . .'Tis the season in Shenandoah Falls and the first time Willow Peterson has been home in years. But she's determined to fulfill the wishes of her recently deceased best friend and restore Eagle Hill Manor to its former glory-all in time to host the perfect holiday wedding. She just has to get the owner of the historic inn to hire her. Unfortunately, that means dealing with Scrooge himself...

After the death of his wife, David Lyndon has a bah-humbug approach to Christmas. But as December counts down and the wedding planning is in full swing, it's harder and harder to stay immune to the charms of Willow, especially when he sees how much joy she brings his eight-year-old daughter. After a simple kiss under the mistletoe turns into something more, David is hoping he can turn the magic of the holiday season into the love of a lifetime.

My thoughts on the book:

Willow has come home with her tale between her legs and it read to conquer her next step in life. When she comes to Eagle Hill to see her Goddaughter and give condolences that last thing she expects it what was the inn is for sale and the man himself keeps looking at her like she the worst thing ever. David has had it he needs to focus on his career but it seems his daughter has other plans and she is making it known. He is coming up on the two year anniversary of his wife's death and he needs to move on. When his cousin approaches him with a crazy plan he knows two things he is in trouble regardless and he needs to higher someone to help. Will he be able to see whats right in front of him or will he keep walking through life morning his wife and the lives they could have had?
I really really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I loved the small town and the quirky characters. I really enjoyed how Willow was not afraid to put people in there place and do it in a kind way. She was one of my favorite characters in the book and I just adored Natalie's personality shining in the book as well. David was someone who I wanted to slap at times but I enjoyed him as well. I felt like there was one thing through out the whole book that kept getting brought up and in the end you were kind of left wondering what happened to that situation. Other then that the book was with out any curse words and there was one scene but the author kept it in the bedroom make this a good clean fun love story. I can't wait to read more from Hope and this lovely small town of Shenandoah Falls.

The Thirteenth Chance Amy Matayo

Description:

Baseball star Will Vandergriff knows any number of women who would happily pretend to be his girlfriend. In a last-ditch effort to restore his good standing with his team’s higher-ups, he enlists the help of his neurotic, goody-goody neighbor. Schoolteacher Olivia Pratt might be a bit quirky and a bit of a loner, but she’s a lot more inviting than she knows. Will hopes that bringing her to his next game might revamp his reckless reputation and help get his career back on track. The only problem? The plan works a little too well. Not only do the higher-ups love Olivia, but Will plays his best game yet. Suddenly his losing streak is a thing of the past, and Olivia is his new good-luck charm. Will feels anything but lucky.
After years of keeping the world at bay, Olivia Pratt is pulling off the ultimate performance—not only reluctantly posing as Will’s girlfriend but also insisting that she’s oblivious to his major-league appeal. But she can only lie to herself for so long. Being by Will’s side feels good. Really good. Maybe it’s finally time to make a pitch for everything she really wants—and to find out just how exhilarating love can be.

My thoughts on the book:

Olivia has been through some hard stuff and she's got her two feet under her and is conquering her world just one day at a time, until her no good neighbor try and destroy some of her peace and quiet. Will is not to happy to be playing in Houston but since the game is in his blood he will take what he can get until something better comes along. But when Will needs a favor from his "crazy" neighbor he knows two things, its a long shot and he won't allow it to go on for long. Will Olivia and Will survive this craziness or will they end up left worst off then before they started?
When I first started the book I didn't like how the book was from the first person point of view and I felt that Olivia and Will came of kind of whinny. However on both points that changed because while yes the book is first person point of view the other wrote the story from both point of views so you really did not miss anything at all. Also the characters attitude changed and they were relatable and dynamite. I really really fell in love with this book. I loved how fun the characters came and I really fell in love with Olivia while she had some secrets and she had struggles she was a fighter and was not about to take anything thing from anyone. I really enjoyed how while Will was this hot shot ball player he was completely likable. If you love football and you love just an overall good book check this one out you won't be disappoint. I have never read anything from Amy (and even though she took a shot at my favorite baseball team) I can't wait to read more from her.

Christmas Comes to Main Street Olivia Miles (Briar Creek Series book #5)

Description:

The mistletoe is out, and the gloves are off . . .
'Tis the worst season to be single, but Kara Hastings won't let a little Christmas funk spoil the festive season. Sure, running her own bakery is a little harder than she expected, but she can handle it. And she'll prove it to a certain infuriatingly handsome, bossy Big City guy. She may be sugar and spice, but she can kick his butt twice.

Nate Griffin is in Briar Creek only for the holidays, and he refuses to fall for the whole "small town, candy cane-scented Christmas Wonderland" thing. He's more interested in the fresh-faced cookie chef who always knows exactly how to get under his skin. So when Nate challenges Kara in the town's big holiday contest, it's not just the competition that starts to heat up. If he's not careful, Kara won't just melt his icy resolve against a small-town Christmas . . . she'll melt his heart too.

My thoughts on the book:

Kara has her hands full trying to get her shop off the ground and she it hoping for one thing to prove to her friends, family and most important to herself she will not fail. She starts to wonder it she took on to much and then a hot looking guy crashes into her and she just about lost it. Every time she runs into him she seems to have more of an explosive encounter. Nate has come to help his aunt out since he sent his parents on the best vacation they have ever had. However he wonders how quickly he can come into town and how quickly he can leave. He knows these kind of people and they are just not "his kind'. Will Nate be able to break down his walls and enjoy the Christmas holiday before its to late? Will Kara and Nate be able to set everything aside and enjoy helping those in need or will it be to much for the both of them?
I read not to long ago one of the other books in this series and was not a fan. However this book redeemed it, the book was amazing. I loved the storyline and I loved the characters and the small town story. This book put me in the mood for Christmas and I can't wait to just enjoy the true spirit of Christmas. I could not stop reading this book once I started it I found it enjoyable and a semi quick read. There was one adult scene in the book but other then that it was a very clean read. If you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit or if your just looking for a really fun book, then this is the book for you.

Twilight at Blueberry Barrens Colleen Coble #3

Description:

“I need you to keep these girls safe . . .”
Kate Mason has devoted herself to caring for her family’s blueberry barrens. But after her fields stop producing fruit, she’s forced to come up with alternative ways to make a living.

Renting out the small cottage on her property seems an obvious choice, but it won’t be enough. When entrepreneur Drake Newham shows up looking not only for a place to rent but also for a nanny for his two nieces, it’s almost too good to be true. And maybe it is—because Drake brings with him dangerous questions about who might be out to kill his family.

The more time Kate spends with Drake and the girls, the more difficult it becomes to hide her attraction to him. But a family crisis isn’t exactly the ideal time to pursue a romance.

Meanwhile, Kate learns that her uncle—in prison for murder—has escaped. Add to that a local stalker who won’t leave her alone, and Kate is looking over her shoulder at every turn. With threats swirling from multiple directions, she wonders if her blueberry fields will ever flourish again . . . or if this twilight is her last.

Set on the beautiful coast of Maine, Twilight at Blueberry Barrens brings together suspense, romance, and the hope that one day new life will come again.

My thoughts on the book:

Kate has been through a lot lately and she ready for thing to calm down a bit. When the blueberries are not going as planned she decides it time to make some changes to the cottage and try and rent it out. When things start coming up missing and things start going a ray she starts to wonder if someone is after her. She is Glad to have the girls to keep her mind of things but she wonders if its wise to keep them.
Drake now it the only parent to his two nieces and he wants whats best for them. When he gets word that the police are no longer going to be looking into his brother and sister-in laws death, he sets off to Maine to find any clues he can possibly find and hopes to protect his nieces from what appears to be someone stopping him from finding the answers he seeks.
Will Kate and Drake be able to come together and protect the girls and find out who's after them bother or will he loose hope and take the girls back to the city to protect them before someone ends up hurt or dead?
I did not read the "back" of this book I fell in love with the cover so when I started reading this book, I had a hard time putting this book down from the very first page the story line draws you in and its unbelievable. I really enjoyed everything about this book it keeps you on the edge of your seat almost though the whole thing. I enjoyed the interaction with the kids and the part they played in the story as well. I was left wanting more at the end but not because it end in a cliffhanger but because it was that good. I did not know this book was part of a series and the book doesn't need to read with the others to know whats going on but I will be going back to read the others and can't wait. You really can not go wrong with this book and you will not be disappointed.

When Liam and Poppy meet, there's an instant spark. Liam knows Poppy is the one even though she's carrying more than her share of baggage. But can he gain her trust and get her to look beyond her past? Or will the man Poppy left in the US return and ruin everything?

My thoughts on the book:
Poppy seems to be living the life she always wanted, well maybe she's doing what she loves but something just doesn't seem right with her boyfriend she just can not put her finger on it. When she gets a call that she's need in Australia she wonders if this is the third sign she needs to just move home for good or if she should stay in New York. When she returns to home to face her past she never expected to meet someone like Liam, will she be able to keep him at arms length or will everything come to a head and now she needs to finds to make it all work? Liam is look for the love of his life, it just doesn't seem to be in the card for him. When he looses someone close to him he wonders if its time for a break. When he helps his dads best friends Daughter Poppy he starts to wonder if maybe he just found the love of his life and wonders if he can convince her before it to late. Will they both be able to put the past behind them or will it be to late?
I really love this series of books. This author writes this series of good clean romance and this book is the same way. In this book Poppy seemed to deal with some tough things in her life and the author doesn't hold back with each of those subjects. I loved how in this book and her others you really connect with the Characters and you truly feel like your catching up with friends. I felt like in this book it dragged a little but over all the book was amazing and I found it hard to put down once I was drawn in. You really can not go wrong with this book.

Always Watching Lynette Eason (Elite Guardians, #1)

Description:

The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have more than just skill and prowess in common--they're also all women. When it becomes clear that popular psychiatrist and radio personality Wade Savage has a stalker, his father secretly hires Elite Guardians in order to protect his son.

But when Wade's bodyguard is attacked and nearly killed, agency owner Olivia Edwards must step in and fill the gap. Olivia's skills are about to be tested to the limit as Wade's stalker moves from leaving innocent gifts at his door to threatening those closest to him. Olivia has the feeling that she's next on the list. And to complicate things even further, she realizes that her heart may be in as much danger as her client.

Bestselling author and fan favorite Lynette Eason drops readers right into the action in this fast-paced new series with a unique twist. Readers will love these strong female characters who put it all on the line to save lives.

My thoughts on the book:

Oliva has to step in to protect a clint that just may not want to be protected but her and her staff will to it because thats what they were hired to do and nothing or no one will stop her. In this case she is stumped though something is not adding up and she knows she needs to put her finger on it or someone could die, because it seems the closer she gets to uncovering the answers, the closer the killer is getting to being upset. Wade knows something is not right but he knows he needs to keep his eyes open. When he finds out he has body guards he's not keen on it but he will stop at nothing to protect those close to him at all cost. When his dad drops a secret he knows he needs to take this all that much serious. Will he be able to protect those he loves and his heart? Will Oliva be able to keep him mind on what in front of her with this case or will the pass come back haunting her?
Where to begin, this book has left me speechless so amazing. If your like me as a reader you will think you have it all figured out this is the first few chapters and then when you find out yep not what you think, thats this book. I really could not put this book down I needed to know what was happening. I loved the characters and I hope for more to come of Maddy and Quinn's story. I like how the author kept you guessing. I loved everything about this book. I have never read anything by this author and I can't wait to read more from her. If I had to compare her to another author it would be Dee Henderson both women have a way of getting your attention and keeping it. Wish List Belinda Williams (City of Love #4)

Description:

Could the wrong man on paper be the perfect man in real life?

Cate Harmon likes lists. While this may serve her well as a financial planner, her girlfriends think that creating a checklist for her ideal man is going a step too far. But she has one, and she's sticking to it.
Cate has always dreamed of starting a family and settling down and yet she's the only one of her close knit friendship group still unattached. But that doesn't mean she's going to lower her standards.
Enter Dave, a reformed bad boy with gorgeous hair and eyes the wrong color. Dave doesn't tick any of the boxes on Cate's list. It's unthinkable that she would develop feelings for him, and yet ... Cate finds herself being drawn to Dave in a way she's never felt before.
Will Cate confront the reasons behind her list? Or will she risk losing a man who could be better than any list she could ever dream up?

My thoughts on the book:

Cate is looking for love or is she. She has a list for everything and as her 3 best girlfriends have pointed to her so often. Cate has seen them all either get married or end up in a lasting relationship and she wonders if she is ever going to have that. When Dave falls into her life she wonders what its about him that makes her dream of the family she always has wanted when he ticks non of her boxes on her list. Will she be able to find a way to heal from the past and set aside the list or will she stick with the list and end up with someone else before its to late to see if he's really the guy for her?

What a fun love story. I found this book intense as some points, but it was really fun and not so intense it wasn't enjoyable. I did feel that there was something missing, I wish that the book would have been a back and forth between Cate and Dave so we would have got Dave's point of view as well. I enjoyed the story line and the characters were very relatable. I found the book hard to put down at points. This book does contain strong language and adult scenes so it may not be the book for everyone but its worth the read. I have never read any other of Belinda's books and can't wait to read more. Also this being the 4th book in the series it was not hard to catch up with what was going on but it would have been fun to read the other girls stories as well.

My Hope Next Door Tammy L. Gray

Description:

Former bad girl Katie Stone can feel the weight of her reputation settle over her as she drives home for the first time in years. Feeling deeply guilty about her past mistakes, Katie wants to do the right thing for once. But the small town where she grew up is not nearly as forgiving as she’d hoped. Despite it all, she’s determined to help her parents cope with her mother’s recent illness, and Katie finds a surprise ally in the man next door.

Asher Powell never minded being the son of a small-town pastor until a recent breakup leaves him wounded by lifelong members of his church. He remembers his new neighbor as a mean-spirited high school troublemaker, but he senses that her newfound faith and desire for forgiveness are sincere.

Through an unexpected friendship, two people from different worlds find peace, hope, and a second chance they never dreamed was possible.

My thoughts on the book:

Katie is called home to the one place she never wanted to return to help her parents. One who rather she go back to the rock she climbed out of and one who's just not sure what to think but needs her help. When Katie seeks help in the most unlikely of place she wonders if this is a good idea or should be really just pack her stuff and get out of town before secrets are revealed and people are hurt.
Asher is sick of the stuck up people who have nothing better to do then judge a situation that they know nothing about. He is angry at himself and those in his fathers church who seem set to destroy him. When Katie comes to town he has no love loss there but he wonders if he needs to show her Gods love like he was raised and help her where she needs the help. Will the two find forgiveness that they are seeking or will it all come to a head and they both or one loose everything they have fought so hard for?
Forgiveness and grace can come in the most unusual places but it can also bring things up you would rather stay in the past. The author did an amazing job of telling a story about forgiveness in so many ways and a love like no other, the love of God who has grace for all of us when we don't always deserve it. In this book it deals with some very tough subjects and deals with some tough topics. I love how she didn't make it cut and dry like some authors tend to do. The characters seems so relatable and had a way of connecting with them as if you are truly catching up with friends you haven't seen in forever. I could not put this book down I needed to know what was going to happen next from the very beginning. I really enjoyed Katie and her firecracker personality and Asher is equal personality. I really would highly recommend this book, you really will not be disappointed.

The Protector Jodi Ellen Malpas

Description:

THE NEW NOVEL FROM THE #1 BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE THIS MAN TRILOGY AND ONE NIGHT TRILOGY!

People think they have Camille Logan nailed: daddy's girl; beautiful, spoiled young woman with her father's bank balance to fund her lifestyle. But Camille is determined to have a life free from his strings. Out on her own, she's made mistakes, including one that found her clawing her way back after a stint in rehab and plenty of bad press. Now, after fighting so hard to be independent and happy, she finds her life threatened as a result of her father's ruthless business dealings. Caught between resentment and fear, Camille prepares herself for the measures her father will take to protect her. But nothing could prepare her for the ex-SAS sniper who crashes into her life.

Jake Sharp resides in his own personal hell. He was distracted from duty once before, and the consequences were devastating--both personally and professionally. He vowed never to let that happen again. Accepting the job of bodyguard to Camille Logan isn't the kind of distraction from his demons he should take. Women and Jake don't mix well, yet protecting the heiress seems the lesser of two evils. But Jake soon discovers that she isn't the woman she's perceived to be. She's warm, compassionate, her presence settling, and his duty to protect her soon goes deeper than a well-paid job, no matter how hard he fights it. He needs absolution. He comes to need Camille. But he knows he can't have both.

My thoughts on the book:

Camille is sick of the stereotypes she is always placed in, she has had it with people think she's just her daddies "princess' and his money. She and her best friend are set to start there own business if they can find the right person to help. When a threat come to her via her dad she is not having non of his ideas or his protection. Will she be able to keep the paps out of her business and protect her self and her heart or will she loose it all?
Jake Sharp has some demons he would rather let stay hidden, he's a use 'em and leave 'em type of person and he is focused on fighting the baddie and make sure people don't destroy lives like his was. When he is placed as a body guard to protect a girl he would rather blow his brains out then deal with her dad. He takes the task and knows that his is not going to be easy but when her dad starts making it impossible to protect her he sets out to make sure at all cost it will happen. Will he be able to protect them both and their hearts or will he loose something close to him again?
OMG What can I say about this book.
Tall, dark and handsome guy ✔️
Really rich girl who won't take crap from anyone ✔️
On the edge of your seat ✔️
Leaves you guessing till the end ✔️
This book literally seems to have it all it will keep you guess till the very end, you see something coming and when something does happen it not what you expect. This book seemed to have a TON of cursing which in my opinion could have done with out so much. This book has the sexual tension as well as the sexual content. If your looking a book that will leave you wanting more then this is the book for you and you will not be disappointed.
