Sergeant's Christmas Siege Megan Crane- An Alaska Force #3

Description:

Danger lurks in the wilds of Grizzly Harbor this Christmas but it's love that has Alaska Force in the cross-hairs, from the USA Today bestselling author of Sniper's Pride.

When straight-arrow, by-the-rules Alaskan State Trooper Kate Holiday is sent to investigate a local band of secretive commandos in remote Grizzly Harbor over the holidays, her least favorite time of year, her objective is clear: disband Alaska Force and arrest them. But Kate didn't count on the diabolical temptation of Templeton Cross. The former Army Ranger exudes charm and has absolutely no respect for the rules of law that govern Kate's life - too bad he also makes her mouth water and her knees weak.

Templeton has always been good at keeping his game face on and his emotions hidden, especially in combat. But working with Kate brings back memories of losses he prefers to keep locked up tight. As the pressure mounts - and Christmas draws closer - it’s a given that someone's going to get hurt.

Trouble is, the more time he spends convincing his careful, wary trooper that there’s more to the holidays than her memories, the more he wants to keep her around. Forever.

But forever is the one thing a man like Templeton can't do. Not even at Christmas.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was so good I have not read any of the other books in the series but can only imagine the adventures that those books offered if it was anything like this one. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and it was a complete page turner. At first I found Templeton's personality completely off setting to the point it was annoying, but they more I read the more he grew on me. If it could described Kate's childhood in one word it would be twisted. OMG its like ripped from the headlines crazy. This book does have two sex scenes in it but no curse words. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book totally worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Description:

The award-winning author who writes with "humor and heart" (Jill Shalvis, New York Timesbestselling author) invites you to visit the charming small town of Angel Falls.
Being naughty was nice, but now these friends-turned-lovers are in for an unforgettable Christmas...
Just when Kaitlyn Barnes vows to get over her longtime crush on Rafe Langdon, they share a sizzling evening that delivers an epic holiday surprise: Kaitlyn is pregnant. And if that weren't life-changing enough, everyone assumes they're engaged -- a charade they must keep alive through the holiday season. But Kaitlyn knows Rafe better than anyone, and Rafe settling down is about as likely as Santa skipping Angel Falls this year...
Rafe would rather Kaitlyn believe a lie -- that their night together was a fling -- than face his own dangerous truth: he's falling for her, hard. After a devastating loss, Rafe swore he'd never risk his heart again. Yet the longer they pretend to be engaged the more Rafe starts to want the real thing. But now he has to convince Kaitlyn he wants to be by her side -- and their baby's -- for all the Christmases to come.
Includes the bonus novel Christmas on Mistletoe Lane by Annie Rains!

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed this book, this whole series is super fun I am in love with the small town of Angel Falls, they seem like one big family and everyone has your back. I liked how in this book it was about finding a hero but about finding hope in the present. I loved how Kailyn and Rafe were best friends and how through everything they faced they wanted to keep that friendship at the forefront. I had a hard time putting this book down it just draws you in and so fun to read it really makes you feel like you are reading about friends not about fictional characters. There is sex in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Christmas on Mistletoe Lane- Annie Rains
When I saw this book all over social media I knew I wanted to read this book and one thing I wasn't sure of if it would live up to all the hype. Well I was not disappointed it completely lived up to the hype I fell in love with this book. I have never read anything by this author and to be honest I can't wait to read more. I loved the small town of Sweetwater Springs and it seemed like one of those towns you just want to go visit, total small town America for sure. I loved the heart of the story and I loved how in the end you want to follow up with some many more characters wondering whats happening in there lives as well. I felt this book was a quick read even though its a larger book. I will also say that in this book it does imply adult situations but over all this is a good clean read which was completely refreshing. If you have never read or even if you have by Annie Rains grab this book you will not be disappoint at all totally worth the read and it will totally put you into the Christmas spirit.

One Final Breath Lynn H. Blackburn Dive Team Investigations #3

Description:
When investigator Gabriel Chavez had his cover blown by an aggressive reporter, the silver lining was being able to rejoin the dive team. The downside? Dive team captain Anissa Bell--a woman who both fascinates and frustrates him.

Anissa grew up as a missionary kid on the Micronesian island of Yap and always planned to return after college. But she remained stateside, determined to solve the case that haunts her--the murder of her best friend and the disappearance of a three-year-old child.

When Anissa's fractured past collides with Gabe's investigation into the tragic shooting death of a teenage boy in Lake Porter, they'll have to put their complicated history with each other aside in order to uncover the identity of a killer. What they'll discover is that revenge has no statute of limitations.

Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn closes out her nail-biting Dive Team Investigations series with a story that will have you wondering how long you can hold your breath.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book in this series I read, I am sure I missed a ton and after reading this book will definitely be going and reading the other books in this series. This book literally keeps you guessing from the beginning to the end. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The suspense and the story between Anissa and Gabe was so good. I liked how the author didn't rush the relationship but just let it grow. I loved Liz she and Brooke where a different element for the story but equally amazing. This book was a good clean read and is so worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Once Upon a Cowboy Christmas Soraya Lane- River Ranch #3

Description:
Billionaires, cowboys, and romance collide during the holidays in this next book in the River Ranch series!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Ford family ranch. Will one cowboy’s homecoming be the greatest gift of all?

He left town and never looked back.
Cody Ford is a Wall Street honcho with humble Texas roots. This holiday season, he’d be content to just stay in New York and not face his family—and dodge their questions about when and with whom he plans to settle down. . .and if he will do so back at home. But his father isn’t getting any younger, and Cody doesn’t want to miss any last chances to see him and the rest of the folks back on the ranch. The last person Cody was expecting to see? His one-time girlfriend, Lexi Murphy, who’s been working as his dad’s new live-in nurse.

She never forgot him. Can she ever forgive him?
Lexi still holds a grudge against Cody. Back then, the college-bound heartthrob believed he was too good for a small-town girl like Lexi. But now Cody can’t help but see her in a whole new light. Could it be that this beautiful single mother with an unbeatable can-do spirit is the one he’s been waiting for all along? That depends on whether Cody can prove to Lexi that, this time, he means business—and if a sudden snowstorm can lend just the right amount of Christmas magic to help move things along. . .

My thoughts on the book:

I will start off saying I did not read any of the other books in this series so I am not sure of the background of these characters. I will say I was not a fan of this book is was so completely predictable and I found the main characters annoying and whinny. I can honestly say the few characters I did like was Mia, Harry, and Walter. Mia was this spitfire mama who stood up for all those she loved and cared for. Walter was the patriarch of the family and he's fighting cancer but he also played a huge roll in this book. This book did have some good moments in it. Also there is sex and a good fair amount of cussing in this book so this may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

You Belong with Me Tari Faris- Restoring Heritage #1

Description:

Realtor Hannah Thornton has many talents. Unfortunately, selling houses in the town where her family name is practically poison isn't one of them. When a business tycoon determines to raze historic homes in the small town of Heritage, Michigan, and replace them with a strip mall, Hannah resolves to stop him. She sets about helping Heritage win a restoration grant that will put the town back on the map--and hopefully finally repay the financial debt Hannah's mother caused the town. But at first no one supports her efforts--not even her best friend, Luke.

Luke Johnson may have grown up in Heritage, but as a foster kid he never truly felt as if he belonged. Now he has a chance to score a job as assistant fire chief and earn his place in the town. But when the interview process and Hannah's restoration project start unearthing things from his past, Luke must decide if belonging is worth the pain of being honest about who he is--and who he was.

My thoughts on the book:

This author is new to me, I did like the storyline over all, I liked how the small town feel and how no matter what everyone seem to be there right when you needed them.  I was not a fan of how I felt like there author wrote two stories into one, I wish she would have either wrote all of Hannah and Luke's story or she would have written all of Thomas and Janie's story. I also was not a fan how a good portion of the story seemed like you were dealing with high schoolers not adults, that does change but not till later in the story. I did enjoy that this book was a good clean read and would be suitable for all. Over all the book was not bad just had a hard time getting into it at first. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Description:

When FBI profiler Kaely Quinn's mother is diagnosed with cancer, Kaely takes time off work to go to Dark Water, Nebraska, to help her brother care for their mother. Upon her arrival, she learns of a series of fires in the small town, attributed by the fire chief to misuse of space heaters in the frigid winter. But Kaely is skeptical, and a search for a pattern in the locations of the fires bolsters her suspicions.

After yet another blaze devastates a local family, Kaely is certain a serial arsonist is on the loose. Calling upon her partner from St. Louis, Noah Hunter, and her brother's firefighter neighbor who backs Kaely's suspicions, Kaely and her team begin an investigation that swiftly leads them down a twisted path. When the truth is finally revealed, Kaely finds herself confronting a madman who is determined his last heinous act will be her death.

My thoughts on the book:

This book will have you on the edge of your seat for sure. I will I did not read the first book in the series and part of me wants to just to go back and see what I missed. I would also say to me this book is not a romance book, while the characters do express feeling its never to each other. This book deals with some tough subjects and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next, The keeps it clean so that was a plus in my book. I did also enjoy that the author seem to hold nothing back in this book. If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end then grab this book you won't be disappointed. Oh I will say this though the book ends in a cliffhanger of sorts.

What starts out as two strangers with a bargain evolves into something more, and for the first time since her world turned upside down, Kit starts to think...maybe.

My thoughts on the book:

I will say I did not read the first book in this series so I am not sure what I missed, however that being said this is a new book new author for me. I found the storyline cute, not very original in fact I found the story completely predictable. I did like Hop and Kit's mom they were so funny and cute. Kit seem to never let her guard down evening certain situations in the book where is seemed the author wanted you to think it was down. I also felt like sometime the author repeated herself regarding Kit's "situation". I did like Shane but he too seemed on the fence almost the whole story. The book does have some sex in it and some language. Over all this book did feel like quick read to me. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All of their plans become twice as complicated when an old car crashes into the storefront of Greene's Pharmacy, carrying a Swartzentruber (ultra-conservative sect) Amish man, Arlan, and his very ill sister.

The Zooks take in Arlan and Madga, tending to the woman's illness and Arlan begins helping around the family farm. Ivy and Arlan are on different tracks, one wanting to leave her community and the other to return to his. But both young people are trying to discover what God has in store for their futures and what miracles might lie around the corner this Christmas season.

My thoughts on the book:

I love a good Christmas book I mean who doesn't. This book was one of those I could not put the story down I wanted to see what the characters where up to next. I love how the authors didn't even try and make these characters perfect, they all struggled with decisions that would impact their lives for the rest of their lives and each one struggled. I felt like this is one of this books that you as the read can take a life lesson away from. I will say the author has you laughing and crying. My heart broke for two of the characters in more ways than one. This book seemed to truly just fly by and it was great catching up with some of the characters from The Christmas Remedy. If you are looking for a good clean read this book will be perfect read for you. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
