Sarah's Orphans Vannetta Chapman

Description:
Orphaned...But Never Abandoned by God

Sarah Yoder belongs to a Plain community in Oklahoma, but her days are far from simple. Life suddenly gets complicated when a series of tragic events unfold, leaving her in charge of the household.

Alone with her younger siblings, Sarah is exhausted but finally at peace. Then she nearly runs over a small Hispanic boy with her buggy...and somehow finds herself sheltering two more orphans.

Paul Byler moved to Cody's Creek to help his brother in a time of need. But now that Joseph has recovered from his heart attack, Paul's ready for a quiet place of his own. The only problem? His new property lands him next door to the orphaned Yoder family—and a calling from God he can't seem to ignore.

A story of extraordinary grace and love in the face of desperate need, Sarah's Orphans is the third standalone novel in the Plain and Simple Miracles collection by Vannetta Chapman.

My thoughts on the book:

Sarah Yoder has come home from her missions trip and it seems like her family is falling apart. She now is left to raise her siblings and is now taking in two very young hispanic kids who seem to be abandoned she knows she may need some help but she's not ready to ask for it just yet. Paul Byler moved to Cody's creek to help his sister in law since his brother's heart attack. Strange things start happening around the store but they don't feel to threatened by them. When he finds a farm for sale he grabs in and knows he going to need help, but when he finds out who his neighbor is and he knows he needs to get to know Sarah and when her brothers step to help out he wonders if there maybe more to come from this then just neighbors. Will Paul and Sarah find what there looking for "love" or will they both be drawn to other things that keep there lives just to far apart?

I really enjoyed this book a lot. The book showed how important family is. Family is not about those who come from the same blood but what you make of it. I really enjoyed that even though this is an amish book that it was not necessary that life was perfect and everything went perfect the author did a good job at portraying that just because the characters choose to live a plain life the life is not perfect. I really enjoyed the fun characters like Isaac and Mateo, Mia and Mammi. I also loved how that no matter what character played a role at that time in the book you felt like you knew them. I loved how in this book you really feel like you are catching up with a group of friends and not just reading a fictional story. This book is amazing and I really had a hard time putting it down. You really will no regret reading this fun story.

Last Kiss of Summer Marina Adair Book launch and giveaway

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: LAST KISS OF SUMMER
Author: Marina Adair
Series: Destiny Bay, #1
On Sale: August 30, 2016
Publisher: Forever
Mass Market: $5.99
eBook: $5.99

He's one bad apple she just can't resist…

Kennedy Sinclair never dreamed she'd own a pie shop and an orchard in a small town like Destiny Bay. But nestled between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean, it's the perfect place to cross something off her "Life's short so eat the icing first" list and start her life over from scratch. Her shop, Sweetie Pies, is famous for its hot, flaky apple turnovers and sinfully delicious deep dish pie. For Kennedy though, nothing is more enticing than the tall, strapping slice of temptation who keeps coming back for more.

Luke Callahan is determined to make his hard cider business a success. With his beloved father's cider recipe and the opportunity of a lifetime in his grasp, he'll stop at nothing to get this deal done. There's just one catch: he needs Kennedy's apples. At first, he thinks it'll be as easy as pie to charm those apples right off her trees. But Kennedy isn't falling for his tender charms or his wicked ways. When the negotiations start heating up, so do the feelings they have for each other. And it takes just one kiss to seal the deal…

LAST KISS OF SUMMER  EXCERPT

Kennedy rested her elbows on the counter and leanedforward. “You cook, clean, and make house calls? Be still, my heart.”
“I aim to please.” He dried off his hands and brought two steaming mugs of coffee to the counter. “Which is why I was trying to be quiet, so you could get another few minutes of sleep, before I surprised you in bed.” He grinned. It was a wicked grin. “Again.”
Luke had done more than surprise her last night; he’dspoiled her for other men. Sure, he was an incredible lover, but it was the tender moments in between that made her nervous.
This thing between them couldn’t last. She knew that. She also understood that if he was looking for something more permanent, she wouldn’t be the kind of woman to inspire that kind of commitment. She was unable to do it with her perfect match, or even her own mother. The one person who was supposed to love her unconditionally. Which left Kennedy painfully afraid that she was missing that elusive quality that led to forever.
Finding out that she was right, that she was unlovable, from a man who obviously had an incredible capacity to love, as she’d seen with his friends and family, would be too painful to survive. So she took the moment for what it was, committing to memory the warm aroma of the coffee, the way the sun cast a glassy haze over the kitchen, and the sleepy expression on his face that made him look softer. More relaxed. Like this was where he was supposed to be.
In this kitchen—with her.

Kennedy was becoming more attached—she could feel it. The way he treated her, the way he made her feel, even the way he looked at her, like right now, as if she were special. Which made her feel special.

She's Got a Way Maggie McGinnis

Description:

LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
Gabriela O’Brien is devoted to the girls at Briarwood Academy—even when their bad behavior earns them an entire summer at a remote campground in Echo Lake, Vermont. When the headmaster assigns Gabi to be their chaperone, how can she refuse? A long, hot summer with neither indoor plumbing nor wireless access might be just what she needs to get her own life in order…right?
Before Briarwood took over Camp Echo, Luke Magellan spent years there helping troubled boys. When four spoiled rich girls and their seemingly uptight den mother show up for the summer, it’s hard to hide his amusement as he watches them tackle the great outdoors. But it’s even tougher to resist the passion he sees in Gabi—especially when he learns about her past, and sees how much she cares about her students. Is this destined to be just a grownup version of a summer-camp romance—or can they find enough in common to build a love for all seasons?
“A new, witty voice in contemporary romance. Maggie McGinnis is gonna make you smile.”—Christie Craig, New York Times bestselling author
She's Got a Way is the third book in Maggie McGinnis' Echo Lake series!

My thoughts on the book:

Gabi is set for summer break and ready for a much two weeks off when all that changes in a blink of an eye, or shall I say a quick hotwire. Her four charges are plucked out of there so called"perfect" lives and with Gabi and they are  put in the middle of no where to teach them a lesson. No ones sure what that will be or if they will find out. But Gabi sure of one thing she just kissed her dream vacation good bye and she will teach these girls what they need to know and not let them be victims of there environments. Luke is pissed he just got word the camp is closed for the summer so that he can renovate for group of "snobby rich" people who have nothing better to do with there lives then take from those who don't have. Then he gets word he is having five people join him for the summer and he sets is mind that he has no intention of helping this housemom or her charges they dug their holes not they can live with it. Will he be able to get his list done or will wildlife and four mischievous girls and their housemom get in the way of his plans? One things for sure this is a summer no one is going to forget.
I loved this book and I just love this series. I don't think I can get enough of Maddie McGinnis books. I have never read anything of hers until this year and when I get my hands on them it seems like I can't put them down. She does an amazing way of keep the attention of the reader and having fun quirky characters that have a heart for not always doing whats right but seeing it and trying to. She did the same in this book, she knocks it out with this one. I really enjoyed the banter back in forth between the two main characters and Gabi's four charges. In this book there is the hint of adult situations and some language but its very mild making this a good book for the right age. I also enjoyed the fact that the situation between Luke and Gabi was a casual build up not a forced or unrealistic situation. You really can not go wrong with this book or the others in this series.

Stealing Taffy Susan Donovan Bigler, North Carolina Book #3

Description:

LOVE IS PRICELESS in Stealing Taffy by New York Times bestselling author Susan Donovan.
Ten weeks in a swanky Arizona rehab center and Tanyalee Newberry, aka Taffy, is ready to give up everything that isn’t good for her—her forgery habit, taking (i.e., stealing) things that don’t belong to her, and, of course, men. But when her flight home gets rerouted, she finds herself in a hotel room with her smoking-hot travel companion. One night together is all it should have been. But passion is oh-so sweet…
Special Agent Dante Cabrera has been duped at his own love-’em-and-leave-’em game by this so-called Taffy. To forget she ever existed, Dante buries himself in his work…until a case leads him to North Carolina and, impossibly, right back to her. He has no business messing around with this felonious femme fatale, especially one who could be in more danger than she thinks. But Dante also knows there’s more to her than great looks and hot nights—a soul-searching woman who wants amend her past sins. Is he ready to take their desire to the next level…and steal Taffy’s heart?

My thoughts on the book:

Taffy is a girl who has made some poor choices in the world and it set to make them all right. But on the way home to do so she sees something that catches her eye and she wonders if she caught his eye. Dante has one thing on his mind and that is getting out of backwards North Carolina, but on a plan trip home he runs into a girl he just must have sex with and he knows that they both will never see each other again so there is nothing to loose. Will Taffy be able to make it right or is forgiveness to late and will Dante be able to stop hiding or will he ruin things for good?
I have no idea where to even begin with this book. I felt like "Taffy" very well could have been the girl from Legally Blonde but gone rouge. Fern was one of my favorite characters she was a spitfire with a grudge against the world and no one was going to stop her with her sassy I don't care attitude, and thats where it ended for me. I was not a fan of this book the whole time I was reading it I felt like I really wish this book was over, I really felt like I was loosing brain cells reading this book.( I hate to be so harsh). I felt there wasn't really heart to the story. At the last two chapters of the book it seems to add a spin to it. This book may not be for everyone it has strong language and adult scenes in it.

Winner Takes All Erin Kern

Description:
THE LOVE OF THE GAME

Money. Fame. Endorsements. Blake Carpenter had it all -- before his professional football career spiraled out of control. Determined to rebuild his life, he takes on coaching the high school team in his Colorado hometown. Despite a few fumbles, Blake knows he can lead these boys to victory. As long as he can keep his eyes on the prize and off the team's distractingly gorgeous physical therapist.

Annabelle Turner knows all about the scandal that cost Blake his NFL career, and she'll be damned if she's going to let his mistakes hurt her team. What she doesn't count on is the intense attraction that turns every heated run-in they have into a wildly erotic competition. Point by point, play by play, kiss by kiss, they try to keep things professional for the good of the team. But when the score is this close-and the passion this fierce-it's anybody's game . . .

My thoughts on the book:

Blake has some demons he's dealing with and has been dealing with. He has some secrets he would like to keep that way and he also would like nothing more then to continue his life as a conformed bachelor and just looking for the next quick fling. But he also needs to prove himself as a coach and he's good enough to continue to take a time to all state.
Annabelle is focused on healing from her failed marriage and building her cliental for her clinic. But first and foremost she wants to see the football players succeed and see her mom be able to heal and get back to some what a normal life. What she's always been good at is life and helping everyone else fix everything she just never been good at love. Will she be able to see that love may be better if she stopped fighting herself or will it be to late? Will Blake and her be able to come together to help the football players succeed or will they both fail at the job and fail at love?
What a fun love story. Who doesn't love football now a days. With school starting right around the corner and kids gearing up for those Friday night lights this book puts you in the mood for the underdog and the game. The chemistry between Blake and Annabelle was off the charts but seemed very natural and completely enjoyable. I loved her love for the players and always making sure they were just as important and her mom and her sister. There is some sexual innuendos through out the book, but the author kept the scenes behind close doors. The story is really worth the read and the fun characters just pop off every page.

My thoughts on the book:
Kennedy is a spitfire with a heart of gold. She is looking for love, family and someone to who will love her for her and she thought she found it and that blow up in her face. Now she has this opportunity to start another job and a fresh start. She just never expected that the opportunity would be not so cut in dry and now she been at if for a few weeks and she has to prove she can do it or risk loosing everything. Luke has a one tracked mind for business and family, he doesn't care who he has to step on to get where he's going but he will prove he's worth the effort and hope to leave with the least about of hurt in the situations. However when dealing with his mom, aunt and now Kennedy he and his business partner wonder if they can come out unscathed. They are both working towards saving there business' and working together doesn't seem to be an option but will one of the take it to far and everything blow up in the others face or will they come together in the end with there hearts still intact?
I really enjoyed this book you find yourself laughing, crying and laughing so hard your crying. I had a hard time putting the book down. There was strong language and some adult scenes in this book so its not for all ages. I really enjoyed this fun little town the fun characters and the personality that shined through of not just the main characters but the other characters in the town. The author did an amazing job with the storyline and keeping you drawn into the story. While some parts where a little cheesy (in a good way) there where other parts that just kicked it out of the park for me. You really can not go wrong reading this fun summer read.

Meant to Be Mine Lisa Marie Perry

Description:

Loving him was hard. Wanting him was so damn easy . . .

Sofia Mercer may have been sick as a teen, but she's no delicate flower. And she's proven it by making it on her own and starting a new life away from the town that turned against her, away from the boy who broke her already fragile heart. But when her aunt Luz dies unexpectedly, leaving Sofia with a mountain of regrets and the keys to a quirky boutique, Sofia has no choice but to return to Cape Cod. Only, this new life in her old town comes with complications.

Burke Wolf was Sofia's first love-a relationship that burned bright and went up in flames. Seeing him again, Sofia can't help but get caught up in that all-too-familiar tornado of passion and pain. He's battled his own demons-that much is clear. But Sofia can't afford to be careless with her heart . . . and loving Burke again might just break it completely.

My thoughts on the book:

Sofia has not been back to Cap Cod since she was a teenager and her dad took her to New York for medical reasons. However the town forever left its mark on Sofia and she now it back in town to say goodbye to your great aunt and the only person she has ever felt like a mom to her. However what happens next is not what she expected now will she stay in Cape and reconnect with a past she would rather forget or will she head back with her best friend to New York and let those Demons lie? Burke can't believe he is see Sofia again after all this time but he knows its only for a short time and from a distance. They are both there to say good bye to an amazing lady who touched their lives but Burke knows he needs to keep his distance from Sofia. However she's like a bad drug that just can't stay away from. Will he be able to keep her at arms length or will she force him to deal with a past he rather stay in the past.
Where to begin the book seemed to be all over the place one minute it was on Sofia and Burke and then on to another character. It seemed like the author spent most of the book preparing for a series to come telling town folks story and then when it seemed fit told bits and pieces of Sofia and Burke's story. With this happening it seemed hard to connect to the story itself. However once you did catch the storyline it was good. Sofia and Burke spent a lot of time fighting each other and fighting demons of yesteryear. Sofia and Burke needed to find healing or risk loosing something they both valued. The story and the sexual innuendos where very tongue and cheek. Over all this story was ok, it did deal with some tough subjects and has some very adult scenes in it.

She needs to focus on raising her six-year-old daughter and protecting both their hearts from ever being shattered again. Matt is struggling with issues of his own...guilt over the death of his wife and the responsibility of raising a cynical teenaged nephew who is dropped on his doorstep, abandoned by Matt's alcoholic sister. He doesn't have time to fall in love, yet he can't help being drawn to the woman who is ready to defend her home-and her daughter-with nothing more than a feisty attitude and a broom handle. Can Matt's help and friendship convince Caroline to trust again...and when Caroline's daughter goes missing, will Matt be able to find the girl before it's too late and he loses everything he loves...again?

My thoughts on the book:

Caroline is on the run from the past she feels like she can out run her feelings and her emotions and with the passing of her aunt and her aunt leaving her a house she knows thats where she will be headed. When her and her 6 year old daughter Callie land in Moutainview she's so broken and just needs to start over and find the healing she's looking for. Matt his dealing with some of his own loss and he is doing it while raising his 15 teen your old nephew. He need to keep this kid on the straight and narrow and get his neighbors house ready for when her niece and great niece. When he continues to try and help her he is not what she expected and he's not what she expected. When trouble seems to find them will they be able come together to get through it or will the just grow further apart?
I really loved this book it was just the sweetest love story. I really loved how Callie, Paul and Andie played just as big as a role as Caroline and Matt did. I really loved Callie's little personality and how she just had such a spitfire personality. I really enjoyed that this was a clean cut book. There was nothing I didn't like about this book. I was a short and very quick read. You really can not go wrong with this book its so worth the read.

Run to You Rachel Lacey Risking it all #1

Description:

ONE LITTLE LIE. A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.
Moments after meeting the most gorgeous guy ever, Gabby Winters promptly gets stung by a zillion yellowjackets and falls-not gracefully-into a stream. Yup, Ethan Hunter is trouble with a capital "hot," and Gabby definitely needs to keep her distance. Except in the small town of Haven, there's nowhere to hide from Ethan's sexy, infectious grin . . . and all the residents are conspiring against her.

At the center of the town's matchmaking is Ethan's grandmother, who's convinced their relationship is a done deal. Rather than break her heart, Gabby and Ethan find themselves cornered into pretending to be falling in love. The problem: there's serious sizzling attraction between them. And if this charade continues, they won't fool just the entire town - they might fool themselves too . . .

My thoughts on the book:

Gabby has gone to the mountains to find herself. She not looking for a relationship she just got out of one but when she stumbles onto the hottest guy she's ever seen of course she has to get stung by a ton of yellowjacks. When she falls she knows she needs to stay away from him but his sweet grandma seems to have other plans for the both of them.
Ethen has a plan for his life and that is to keep the women close but there emotions far far away. He enjoys women and he enjoys the next adventure as well. He and his best friends have come home to open off the grid adventure and they plan to make the best of it. When Ethen gets some bad news he knows there is one way to help and he knows he method will not explode in his face its a fool proof plan. Or is it?
This book touches on some tough subjects over all self worth is a big factor on both main characters part. I really enjoyed how the author didn't leave anything off topic it seemed. The storyline is just amazing. The characters at some points felt so raw with emotions it felt like you were catching up with people you know. I loved Lance the puppy and his little personality and I just loved loved Dixie and I loved her old school personality. I felt however that the amount of strong language really took away from it over all it was just to much. There are some sex scenes in the book so this book is not for all ages.

Catch Me a Cowboy Jacquie Underdown

Description:
The biggest risks yield the greatest gains—especially in the game of love.

Emily Wolfe, real estate agent to the elite, is tired of being alone. So when she gets a chance to compete on a reality dating show she decides to risk it all for love in the biggest game of her life.

The city girl is surprised how much she enjoys switching her high heels for cowboy boots and pedicures for mud treatments—and not the kind you find at a day spa. And she’s falling hard for Wil Parker, the sexy, rugged farmer at the centre of the show.

Amidst the chaos, tantrums and editing tape, the heat and passion between Emily and Wil reaches boiling point. But can they survive the imminent explosion, let alone the fallout?

My thoughts on the book:

Emily Wolfe is sick of the game of life and she is sick of these guys who are looking for just one thing. She needs, wants, and is ready for a real man in her life, her career is perfect and she is ready to have everything. When she gets a chance to appear on a show to win the heart of a cowboy she knows in her head this is the next step to finding MR Right but in her heart she is starting to have second guess.
Wil is a cowboy who has been burned once from the love of his life when he is convinced to appear on a show to find the love of his life he doesn't know what will come of it but he know he needs open his heart and his mind to it. But will secrets and the past destroy his chance to really love some one?

The story line seems to be written like along the same line as The Bachelor Tv Series. The storyline is well written and it has some really sweet and to the heart of the matter moments, there is a ton of sexual tension throughout as well.  I was kind of turned off by story at the same time there are some strong language and adult scenes in this book so its not for everyone. Also it seemed that sex seemed to be the bases of the relationship and the over all relationship seemed disingenuous. This book was over all a good read and will be a good book for the right person.
