Loving Ellie Lindsey Brookes

What's the book about:
Ellie Sanders is pregnant and alone. Carrying a child she’d conceived the one and only time she’d lain with her closest friend, Jarrett Tanner. A man she’d agreed to marry for the sake of their child. A man she’d loved, but not as he’d deserved. And now he was gone.

Lucas Tanner returns home to settle his younger brother Jarrett’s estate only to discover his brother left behind a very pregnant fiancĂ©e. Having lost his own wife and their baby she’d been carrying years before, he’s bound and determined to stick around and make sure Ellie’s child makes it safely into the world. Even if it means facing the ghosts of his past.

Struggling financially and emotionally, Ellie is torn between keeping her baby and giving it up for adoption. She wants to give her child the chance she never had - to be raised by two loving parents. If only she could make Lucas understand. And, if only she wasn’t falling for a man with no heart left to give.

Lucas finds himself wanting more. Wanting Ellie. But what if he gives in to his deepening feelings and loses her, too?

One fears abandonment. The other fears loss. Can Ellie and Lucas put their painful pasts behind them and finally find true happiness? Or are the emotional walls they’ve built up around their hearts too strong to tear down?

My thoughts on the book:
Why love is not always what is seen in movies and can be hard a tough this story is about that. Love, feeling alone and empty. But why two people fight the past and try to control the future they never know what's barriered deep in there souls they might discover. This love story is sweet and painful all at once has you cheering for the winner's and cry that it won't end. There is two love stories going on one I hope the author will continue to tell. I would recommend this book for anyone no fowl language just a wholesome love story i hope you enjoy.

Tight Spiral Michael J. Gill

What's the book about:
Four lives converge – and a legend is born...
Harry Smith had everything going for him: the first British quarterback in American college football, a star future, and a pretty Texan girl on his arm. But when 'Prince Harry' collides with fate in a near-fatal accident, everything unravels.
Paul Smith, Harry’s Granddad, has always been supportive. After all, it was his idea to bring Harry to Texas in the first place. But when Harry emerges from his coma with no interest in football, it’s up to Paul to bring him back to life.
Amy Carrington is a sports reporter in Leeds, England, who’d much rather report on life and fashion. But her boss has a brand new job for her: covering the rise of American football in Britain. This might just skyrocket her career – and change her life.
Ben Shannon is a millionaire with one unfulfilled dream – owning an NFL team. Thwarted at every turn, he changes tactics, founding the Leeds Cougars football team and transforming the face of British football.
Inspired by Lee Childs and Steve Berry, Tight Spiral is a fast-paced novel which combines sports fiction with romance and suspense.

My thoughts on the book:

Ok so I felt like the book was all over the place, over all the storyline was good,I loved that fact that its about sports but you still have a love story you are following. What I did not like about the book was that every two pages was a new chapter which to me seemed very distracting. I also felt at the beginning of the book it was all over the place and you had to keep trying to figure out what was going on as they author brought new people to the storyline very abruptly without some much as a flow to the other characters. However in the end they do end up winding back to one group. I would say that if you can over look the little things this would be a great quick read and a simple love story with a few twist. Beware author does use strong language throughout

My thoughts on the book:
I really liked this book. Yes there is some sex in this book but over all its a book I had stayed up until wee hours of the morning to finish. The story and the chemistry between Tristan and Mandy is amazing. I cant believe how much they went through and the raw emotion that came off the pages. I have never read anything by Evie and I can honestly say I cant wait to read more by her. She has an amazing way of story telling. You really cant go wrong with this book at all.

Maggie's Miracle Karen Kingsbury

What's the book about:
Megan Wright spent one unforgettable summer week with a boy when they were both teens. And despite a lifetime of heartache and bad choices, she has never let go of his magical definition of love, even if she has trouble believing in it. After college Megan settled for a relationship of convenience. Now she's a high powered attorney and, after the death of her husband two years ago, has been looking for help with her lonely young son.

Across town, Casey Cummins is still dealing with the tragic loss of his wife. His search for meaning and hope leads him to contact the Manhattan Children's Organization, who connects him with a fatherless child. Life suddenly takes a series of unusual twists, and soon Megan will learn that the teenage boy from all those years ago actually kept his promise, and the miracle she prayed for as a girl is only a breath away.

My thoughts on the book:
This book was not what I expected at all. When I saw the red glove series on Karen's website I thought the series was more geared towards young teens, so I really never thought to read this. So once I picked up the book I had a hard time putting the book down the book is about a young boy who doesn't quite feel loved and wants a Daddy. The story at first really broke my heart, but the more I read the book did not disappoint at all, Karen does an amazing job at getting right to the point and to the matter of the heart. Unlike most of Karen's book this one was very short read, I read it very quickly and so enjoyable. All i say is grab some tissues and your favorite drink and find a quite place this book will be worth the read.

At Bluebonnet Lake Amanda Cabot

What's the book about:
Marketing maven Kate Sherwood's world is fast-paced, challenging, and always changing. The last thing she wants to do is slow down to a crawl at Rainbow's End, a dilapidated resort in the Texas Hill Country. But she cannot deny her ailing grandmother's request to visit the place where she and her deceased husband spent one glorious week (albeit fifty years ago). There Kate meets Greg Vange, the resort's handyman. But there's more to Greg than meets the eye--billions more, in fact, as he recently sold his successful software company and is at the resort in search of what's next for his life.

Kate isn't looking for romance, but she can't deny the sparks of attraction that fly every time she and Greg are together. She even starts to see potential in the rundown resort. Could there be a future there? Or will Kate's long-sought promotion take her back to the big city?

Amanda Cabot invites readers to step away from the pressures of the daily grind. They might be surprised by what they find at Rainbow's End.

My thoughts on the book:
I have to say I just love this book. I had a hard time putting it down. Its really not your traditional love story there are 4 main characters and each story was told amazingly.I just Love Sally and Roys story and I found a friend in Carmen and well almost on the characters. With out giving to much a way this is a story you will want to read so you can no what happens. I have never read anything by this author and now can't wait to read more. I can honestly say there is not one thing about this book I did not like.

Dare to kiss S.B. Alexander

What's the book about:

Her fastball is impeccable, her curveball equally as good, and her slider annihilates anyone who dares to step in the batter’s box. But fate has its own way of throwing curveballs.

When she looses her mother and sister to a home invasion, baseball and her dreams die with them. Tragedy has a way of seeping deep into her psyche, causing nightmares, panic attacks and blackouts. Diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, her psychiatrist recommends a change of scenery and picking up the things that she loved to do, and for Lacey that is baseball.

After a move clear across the country, only two things matter to Lacey—overcome her PTSD and make Kensington High’s baseball team. However, she never counted on meeting someone who wants her as badly as Kade Maxwell. The tall, sexy and drool-worthy bad boy has a magical touch that awakens her feminine side, and a kiss that slowly erases her nightmares. But getting involved with him may be dangerous when Kade’s nemesis returns to town to settle a vendetta. To complicate matters, her PTSD has taken a turn for the worse. She has to find a way to heal otherwise she may not have a chance at anything in life, especially love.

My thoughts on the book:

I would say this book is geared towards reads from the age range 18-25. I am just out of the range I did enjoy it. The story line was well written and I had a hard time putting the book down. I think with the book geared towards teens still in high school the only problem I had was the sex underlay in the book. I feel that could have been left out and the story line still would have been amazing. This is a fun book keeps you on the edge of your seat at some points and is worth the read if you are looking for a down to earth fun loving group of kids who have been forced to group up a little to fast by facing adult situations.

The Tumble Inn William Loizeaux

What's the book about:
Tired of their high school teaching jobs and discouraged by their failed attempts at conceiving a child, Mark and Fran Finley decide they need a change in their lives. Abruptly, they leave their friends and family in suburban New Jersey to begin anew as innkeepers on a secluded lake in the Adirondack Mountains. There they muddle through their first season at the inn, serving barely edible dinners to guests, stranding themselves in chest-deep snowdrifts, and somehow, miraculously, amid swarms of ravenous black flies, conceiving a child, a girl they name Nat. Years later, when Mark and Fran are nearing middle age and Nat is a troubled teenager, Mark's life is ripped apart, forever changed, and he must choose between returning to his old home in New Jersey or trying to rebuild what is left of his life and family in the place of his greatest joy anddeepest sorrow. The Tumble Inn is a moving drama about home and about the fragility and resilience of love.

My thoughts on the book:
Ok where do I begin with the book, have to say not my favorite book. The storyline was ok, I felt instead of reading a fiction book, I felt like I was reading a poorly written diary or journal, with so much detail it seemed to me a book on details more then a story. I kept waiting for a part to say "and then" "and than". The book did deal with tough things like them having a hard time getting pregnant, a job they don't like, telling a fib to try to get another job. But over all it just felt that it was a journal being written.

The Amish Blacksmith Mindy Starns Clark and Susan Meissner

What's the book about:

New from bestselling authors Mindy Starns Clark and Susan Meissner, The Amish Blacksmith (Book 2 in The Men of Lancaster County series) explores the men of an Amish community in Lancaster County, how their Amish beliefs play out in their unique roles, and the women who change their lives.

Apprenticed blacksmith Jake Miller is skeptical of Priscilla Kinsinger’s innate ability to soothe troubled horses, especially when he has own ideas on how to calm them. Six years earlier, Priscilla’s mother died in an awful accident at home, and Priscilla’s grief over losing her mother was so intense that she was sent to live with relatives in Indiana. She has just returned to Lancaster County.

Not that her homecoming matters to Jake, who is interested in courting lighthearted Amanda Shetler. But Jake’s boss is Priscilla’s uncle, and when the man asks Jake to help his niece reconnect with community life, he has no choice but to do just that. Surprisingly, he finds himself slowly drawn to the beautiful but emotionally wounded Priscilla.

Jake then determines to prove to her that it’s not her fault her mother died, but what he discovers will challenge everything they both believe about the depth of love and the breadth of forgiveness.

My Thoughts on the book:
I have to say I really like this book, The interaction with each and everyone of the characters is really amazing. I am not one who likes so much detail that it takes away from the storyline its self. At first I felt that this book was heading that way, there is a lot of details but the more I read on I felt like everyone of those details make since in the end. The book is intense at times but it just make you keep wanting to read on to see what is going to happen. I really had a hard time putting the book down it was a really fun storyline. Also it teaches you a little bit about the Amish, I just love the simple life of the Amish and to get loss into the simpleness of there lives even if its just fiction its fun. This book is worth the read as well as worth the buy, from the beginning of the book to the end of the book it grabs you and holds you there. If you are looking for a fun book the you will not want to put down this would be the book. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Hideaway Cove Anna Sullivan

What's the book about:

Jessi Randal walked away from her last relationship with a baby and a broken heart. Now, years later, the last thing this single mom wants is to give Windfall Island-and all its nosy residents-anything more to gossip about. But the moment she lays eyes on the tall, sexy stranger with the slow Southern drawl, she knows she's in delicious trouble . . .

Holden Abbot is on the island to find the missing heir to the Stanhope family fortune. It's his job to charm as many secrets out of the town as possible. And if he can charm Jessi into his bed, even better. When all evidence points to her as the heir, a dangerous enemy sets his sights on Jessi and her son. Now Holden will have to risk everything to protect the family he's come to love.

My Thoughts on the book:
So first off let me say this you need to read the first book in the series, other wise this book can be a bit confusing in the beginning. I did not read the first book so I can not tell you if its any good. But what I can say is the first half of this book seemed like it was all about a simple love story then in the middle somewhere I realized this book had some mystery to it. The book is ok it drags in some parts but over all the storyline and the characters seem well written. I loved the mystery part of the book it keeps you on the edge of your seat you really can't put the book down and it leaves you wanting so much more. I love how Jessi is true to herself but still has to struggle with what she thinks life should be, she surrounds herself with loving caring people and she seems to have a passion for everyone and everything including her son. I love Maggie, she is just a cannon about to explode (in a good way) theres a part of me that wants to go back and read her story. Over all I would give this book a B, Its hard to say if I would have liked the book better if I had read the first book but I can say that it would have helped make more since of the first part of the book. If you are looking for a mystery love story and you want a book to keep you guessing this would be a good book to read because it does keep you wondering whats going to happen all the way till the end of the book.

My Thoughts on the book:
This book was amazing for sure the chemistry between the characters was amazing. From the very beginning the book draws you in and hooks you. There are a lot of hot and steamy parts and you won't be disappointed. The book deals with self worth a lot and the way the author does the storyline is completely well written. I love Sophie's bubbly personality, it keeps you laughing and you just want to get to know her and be friends with her. I love how even though Gray is stand offish he's still human. I love the start of Will and Brynn's story I can not wait to read it. Will is seriously the boy next store and you so want to know that he is going to come out ahead!!! If you are looking for a hot steamy love story that has twist and keeps you reading this is your book a quick read but a fun read.

My Thoughts on the book:
I really like that this book is three books in one it picks up where the other leaves off and you don't have to worrying about buy another book to finish the story. I love how the author took 3 very strong women and 3 equally strong men and told there stories, but allowed there weakness to show as well. The stories are short but packed with a great story line. I love how each story had its own struggles and yet each story was well enough written you didn't want to put the book down you wanted to see what was going to happen. I would have to say this book is worth the buy 3 great stories for the price of one and they are short reads.

My Thoughts on the book:
This is full of hot steaminess with a little bit of story. Over all there are 6 stories the first story was not much of one the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th stories were really good the story line was amazing kept you on the edge of you seat. It was some times fairly on the intense side but in a good way. Each story seems link it doesn't take but a second to see the link. Now in the 4th  story it was like maybe 2 pages and I am so lost on how that was link to the other books I have gone back and to read it over and still feel like I am missing the link. I think the story it self should have been longer or not included. It kind of just ends very abrupt. If you are looking for a book full of action this is that book, and you wont be sorry.

My thoughts on the book:
I rarely give a book 5 stars unless a book just is that good. This book has 4 books with in it and from the very first book its amazing and just gets better you are sitting on the edge of your seat wanting to know whats going to happen in each story. The first book and the last book are both very sweet love stories and are well written. The 2 books in the middle are on the edge of your seat kind of books full of action and a little bit of love thrown in. I think the only thing I can say in a negative way is I wish the books were longer. I thought with each book being small they make lack a poor storyline or they leave you hanging. But no that did not happen with any of them, each story had a way of drawing you in a keeping you there from the start to the end. I have only read one author the other 3 are new to me and I can not wait to read more by them. This book is definitely worth buying and you can not go wrong with it. Don't let the title mess with you its not just another Love story.

Together they start a successful real estate company, but when pleasure sneaks into the business, they'll have to decide what they can let go . . . and what they can't live without.

My thoughts on the book:
I would give this book a B+ for sure its hot, steamy and all with a really good storyline going on around all the chemistry between Conner and "Red" Juliana. I have never read any of Sandy James' books and I can say this book hooked you sucked you in and you just were along for the ride a very fun ride. I would love to go back and read the first book in this series now that I know this is a series. I liked that even with the chemistry and sex in the book that it was not the book or the whole story it self, the characters a dealing with struggling to trust, addictions and all together small town gossip mill, nosey friends, and as well as making life changing decisions that could change and break everything or that can make life worth living and work out in the long run. But in the end it shows that even will all the ups and downs the the story was put together well to keep you guessing a little bit on what maybe happening next. Sandy has a way in this book getting the characters to come alive and off the pages and making you feel like you are sitting right there with them. Well done!!! I hope you like this book as much as I did.

Christmas in July Debbie Mason

What's the book about:
Grace Flaherty had given up hope of ever seeing her husband again. After all, it'd been over a year since he went missing in combat. So when he strides through the door of her bakery in downtown Christmas one sunny afternoon, she can hardly believe her eyes. But her happily-ever-after is going to take some effort - because Jack has no memory of his family.

All Jack Flaherty remembers about Christmas is that he couldn't wait to leave town. Now he's a local hero with a wife and son he doesn't know. Even as he struggles to rekindle the romance with his wife, he knows in his heart what he wants: a second chance at love.

My Thoughts on the book:
The book starts off really good and stays that way till the end I don't think there is a dull moment in this book, it keeps you wanting more. Right as I thought the book was ending the author would through another curve ball. Over all the story line was well written and very cute. She does a tribute to out men and women who serve and as an American who comes from a military family that means a lot to me. I think that only thing that is different about this book is it seemed like after one crisis was down another happened but if you think about that's how life works its not all fairy tales and everything is perfect, but for some readers you are so use to having everything be so "put together" in a book and in this case I love how the author did not do that, so over all the book was amazing and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

My thoughts on the book:
I would have to say on a a-f rating I would rate this a B. I did not dislike the book but I have to say it wasn't one of my favorites either. I felt the book draws you in and then it goes down and up and down till you get till about the middle of the book and then its stays really steady. I do like how the book talks about unconditional love in the hard times. There is a lot of how not all rich people but so rich people act high then thou attitudes and to me it seems a little extreme at times. Since this book is based on a rich family who goes through something and then as a family they are tested greatly, and everything they know has been thrown upside down. At some points I was wondering if I was reading a christian book faith is not a big thing in the book but it is underlined.
I have to say my favorite characters in the whole book were Max and Jana Rae and it was because they seemed like the most down to earth and realistic people. They truly show what God's Love is and I think that was what the author may have been going for. The biggest factor in this book is forgiveness, and how we need to forgive and don't let the past dictate the future. I read this book in 2 days only cause I had to work other wise it is a fairly quick read. On the 2nd morning I woke up and the first verse that came to mind is John 15:13 I looked it up and this is what it reads: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
When I started reading this again the 2nd day this verse came to mind again and I really feel that that sums this book up perfectly. Over all I would say read the book give it a shot you may feel different about it then I do. But in the end I would have to say this is probably not a book I would keep on my shelf.

I was given a free copy of this book by netgalley for my honest option.

Decadent: Big Sky Pie #4 Andrianne Lee

What's the book about:
Contractor Wade Reynolds is having a tough year. His cherry farm went bust, and his construction clients threaten to unhinge what's left of his sanity. But Wade's passion for life heats up when he's hired to remodel a new storefront next to Big Sky Pie -and he falls for the red-hot, bad girl who's setting up her catering shop there.

Fresh off her own divorce, Roxy isn't looking for another relationship, just a spontaneous fling or three. Her contractor Wade looks as delicious as her specialty confections, but he's way too buttoned-up for a casual affair. Yet there's an ultra-sexy strength about him Roxy can't resist. What that man clearly needs is something decadent-like her...

My thoughts on the book:
This book was a fun read. I love how the characters have so much chemistry, its sweet and caring but HOT with a capitol H, between them and you can feel it coming of the page. I think one of my favorite things about this book and thus far with all of Ms. Lee's book are that everything seems to be fixed with pie and a good drink or a simple beer. There is a part in the book were the men are sitting around drinking beer and eating pie and it reminds me of my Father in-law and his friends you will always find them sitting around drinking and eatin, so I feel like this could be very much real life too. I liked how she took to broken people who were not ready for much of anything and shared the story in such away that it kept you hooked till the end. You go rooting for the underdog in this book. But each person seems to deal with some rough issues but they don't wallow in it. I love how she also brought back the characters from other books and gets you caught up in there lives but doesn't go to far from the storyline to do so like I have seen other authors do. I can not wait to read more from her she has a gift for story telling and this book does a good job showing it. This book ends with a recipe and I swear a girl can never have enough pie recipes. I hope you enjoy this fun book.

I got this book from netgalley for my honest review

Shaken (Heart of a Warrior series) Kariss Lynch

What the Book is about:
When her world is shaken, will her foundation survive?
Idealistic and sheltered with a passion to change the world, Kaylan Richards leaves her comfortable life in Alabama to serve in poverty-stricken Haiti. Despite her inexperience and the opposition of a voodoo priest, Kaylan develops a love for the country and the Haitian people. But something deadly is about to strike.

It is the worst earthquake the country has ever seen, and in its aftermath bodies, buildings, and broken lives litter the streets. People she cares about are dead, and Kaylan is caught in the middle of the destruction, questioning a God who said He was good.

Navy SEAL Nick Carmichael never planned to find a girl he loved more than his country. Now she is a world away, trapped in a deadly situation nothing could have prepared her for. Can Nick’s love help Kaylan heal and show her the God who never abandoned her, or will tragedy shake even the most rooted faith?

My Thoughts on the book:
First off let me start off by saying that the book is broken up into 4 parts and so I wanted to break up my review into the same four parts, however the whole book is just that good I didn't want to do that I feel like I would be taking the book apart to much . In first Kaylan and Sarah Beth(BFF) graduate college a semester early and decide its there turns to take on the world, well at least Hati, so Kaylan has the daunting task of telling her parents her plan, but before that can happen her past has come back and now she is having 2nd thoughts about everything. Her and Sarah have a bond that Kaylan can turn to Sarah as a sister and ask her for anything or help her with anything they are like 2 peas in a pod. I had the hardest time putting this book down it was amazing it keeps you wanting for more and just want to put life on hold for a few hours just to read this book. From the very first page to the very last page the momentum of the story does not stop. This book hand down would get 8 stars if I could give it that. If you are ready to read a book that keeps you wanting more this is your book I would have to say I could easily compare where righting and hold you in the book style to Dee Henderson.I cant think of one negative thing to say about it.

Fools Gold Christmas Susan Mallery

What the Book is about:

The unrelenting cheer in Fool's Gold, California, is bringing out the humbug in dancer Evie Stryker. She learned early on that Christmas miracles don't happen, at least not for her. And this year seems like no exception. An injury has forced her to return to the family fold, no matter that they're estranged. She won't add to the awkward scenario by being seduced by the bad-boy charms of her brother's best friend, the last man she should ever want to date. Even when she's recruited to stage the Fool's Gold winter festival, she vows to do as promised, then move forward with her life anywhere but here. Jaded lawyer Dante Jefferson is getting used to the backwater town he now reluctantly calls home, but the pounding of little dancers' feet above his temporary office is more than any man should have to take! When he confronts their gorgeous teacher, he's unprepared for the attraction that sears him down to the soul. Evie is his best friend's sister--off-limits unless he's willing to risk his heart. Dante has always believed that love is the most dangerous force in the universe, but that was before he had to reckon with the magic of a certain small town, where miracles do seem to happen....

My thoughts on the book:

I have to say hands down this is one of my favorite series of books. I love this little town of Fools Gold. In each book the mystery of the mayor just add to it and this book is not different. I love how each time you catch up with characters from past books and each time it only adds to the story. In this one Evie is brought to Fools Gold and she is not happy about it. Why she does everything to fight it in heart and in her soul, she throws herself into dancing which she has always enjoyed. She doesn't want to deal with the issues of her family and with Christmas right on her she starts to realize she may not have a choose.
She finds friendship in Dante who is also fighting his own demons. Dante is also fighting dealing with the town of Fools Gold and decides his only ally is Evie and they become 2 against everyone else. I love everything about these 2 I love how they are friends and there helping each other "out". I had a hard time putting this book down I wanted to find out how it end with these two since for the few books before they each had a small part in them I was so happy to finally hear there stories. This is a story you can not go wrong with it fun, quick read and really good love story to get lost in.

Crazy Little Thing (A Bell Harbor Novel) Tracy Brogan

What the book is about:
If Sadie Turner is good at anything, it’s putting stuff in order. So when she finds her “perfect” life in disarray, she hopes a summer vacation at her aunt’s lake house will help her piece it back together. She wants to relax, reboot, and heal the wounds left by her cheating ex-husband. And that requires time away from men. All men.
Or so she thinks.
With two slobbering dogs and two cousins living there—one a flamboyant decorator intent on making over Sadie—it’s hard to get a moment’s peace at eccentric Aunt Dody’s house, especially with everyone so determined to set her up with Desmond, the sexy new neighbor.
Desmond is Sadie’s worst nightmare. Tall, tanned, muscular…and to top it off, he’s great with her kids. But he must have a flaw—he’s a man—so Sadie vows to keep her distance.
As summer blazes on, the life Sadie is trying so hard to simplify only becomes more complicated—a new career presents itself, her evil ex haunts her, and Aunt Dody reveals a tragic secret—but maybe a little chaos is just what Sadie needs to get her life back in order.

My Thoughts about the book:
I loved this book it was fun and witty and kept you laughing through the whole thing. I could not wait to find out what was happening. It was lighthearted but also dealt with divorce, affairs homosexuality and so love thrown in to boot. Aunt DO it a riot, I think we all have a family member like her. She is fun, loving, exocentric, but she will love you in spite of herself.  This book will have you laughing so hard at so if you are in public be prepared I was dying laughing at probably the most inappropriate times...lol I hope you enjoy this book it is defiantly with the read hands down (not recommend for young reads for sure). There is some foul language used in this book as well as some adult situations but over all it does not take much from the book.

Forever Amish Kate Lloyd

About the Book:
Sally Bingham needs some time away to sort through the changes in her life and to rethink her upcoming marriage. Despite her ailing father’s hesitations, she takes off for a bed and breakfast in Lancaster County for a weekend away. But her best-laid plans leave her in a near collision with a bishop’s buggy and in the home of a mysterious Amish woman named Lizzie. Lizzie introduces her to a different perspective on life, a charming farmhand named Armin— and opens a Pandora’s box that will forever change Sally’s life. The latest book in the Legacy of Lancaster trilogy, Forever Amish introduces us to a young woman about to uncover a shocking secret and find an invitation to a new way of living. This is a story of forgiveness, legacies, and the ties that bind through generations.
My thoughts on the book:
This book is ultimately about forgiveness, and how lying can really do a lot more harm then good. I found this book captivating. The book grabs you and keeps you wanting more. It is told from one person side but the author manages to tell everyone's story, and does an amazing job doing so. I just love Amrin he's there but not really and then catches you and you are so intrigued by him you just want to know so much more. As Sally struggles with her past and find her future she struggles with her present to. Sally struggles with forgiveness, abandonment, and her own self worth when she receives an email from someone that take her to a place she is always drawn to but can't figure out why. Sally struggles to figure out who she is and finds that the people closest to her may not be who she always thought they were. I just love the emotions of the characters and how she did not portray the Amish and better then or flawless but just a broken as the rest of us. The author did a good job with this book I would recommend it to anyone, but I think this would be a good book for a preteen or teenager.

Second Chances by Rachel R. Vaughn

What its about:
Kate Strickland Ross is small-town attorney seeking election to a local judicial position, who has just discovered that her son Trey has been arrested for armed robbery and attempted murder in a neighboring college town. Although she is highly respected in the small town where she practices law, Kate has an ugly secret that, until now, she has successfully hidden for more than twenty years. Her son’s legal troubles and the sudden exposure of her dark past now threaten to ruin her chances of winning the election and to destroy relationships with the people she loves. Thanks to Wade Anders, a long-time friend to Kate and mentor to her son, she soon discovers that she is the target of an angry young man bent on revenge for misdeeds he believes Kate committed long ago against his deceased mother. It turns out that the vengeance-seeker, Andy, has been insinuating himself into the lives of the Ross family for years as part of a twisted plot to destroy Kate personally and professionally. Andy’s discovery of Kate’s secret gives him an advantage in his attempt to harm her reputation and, in his mind, insanely justifies the criminal rampage he has carried out thus far.

Kate is forced to face her past, along with the consequences it brings, and in doing so she has to unearth the enormous guilt that she has suppressed for decades. In the mean time, Wade, who is in love with Kate, desperately seeks evidence to clear her son’s name, and in the process, discovers that most of the people who have wronged Andy have wound up dead. Alarmed and convinced that Kate’s and Trey’s lives are in danger, Wade soon shockingly finds himself at Andy’s mercy, and he is compelled to reveal a long-held dark secret of his own which could devastate his own relationships with Kate and Trey

My thoughts on the book:
I could easily hands down give this book a four and a half stars out of five. From My understanding this is the authors first book and I think she did not pull out any stops for this book. I can not wait to read more from her. I can tell you this my only disappointment was I wish it was longer. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first few pages. Its a complete page turner and you will be sad when it ends.
As Kate and Wade are both haunted from their past and you find the story being followed by a few people it does not get distracting at all it flows well. When they are forced to face the past there are so many involved it wont be easy to handle it. All the while Andy and Trey are brought together by school or so it seems, Andy has something to hide and it "appears" Trey does too, or does he?
Rachael Vaughn takes each character and gives them real life circumstances and flaws, she does a good job showing that God's grace is for everyone, not just who we think are perfect. A true book about second Chances. I really think that if you are looking for a quick read (should only take a few hours) and a page turn this here is your book. You can not go wrong!!

My Review of this Book:

Sandra has done it again and you will not be disappointed. Sandra has got to the heart of the matter and gets you sucked in right away and all you can do is enjoy it and hope it doesn't end. This modern day Sleep Beauty is just so cute. I wasn't even through the book all the way when I knew I wanted to read this again and wanted to tell just about anyone who would listen about the book. I love how the characters could be a friend or some one you meet in real life. The story is so life like that you wonder if it really has ever happened and you find yourself including the characters in your prayer list at night. I love how Sandie can make you laugh and cry and leave you still wanting more.

If you have never read any of Sandie's book grab this one and I know you will want to read all of her other books. You are always guaranteed to Laugh in everyone of her books. Each one of her books have character and is very enjoyable and something you will not want to miss out on.
