Close to Home Lily Everett, Sanctuary Island Series Book #5

Description:
The best journeys take us home….

When Tessa Alexander came to Sanctuary Island, she left behind a marriage to a man who didn’t love her the way she loved him. When she finally found the strength to set them both free, she discovered friendship and self-acceptance in her adopted hometown. Now she’s settled into a quiet life on her own—never expecting to see her husband again.

Johnny spent almost two years deep undercover, unable to let his wife into his cold, dangerous world. He’s shaken to the core when he comes home to find her gone. It’s painfully clear that Tessa is no longer the timid young woman he married—she’s become a force of nature, a brave and determined beauty. Johnny can’t let her go without a fight so he sets out to seduce his own wife. But will passion alone be enough to convince Tessa that her new life should include a second chance at happiness with a man who must learn to believe in love?

Fall in love with Close to Home by Lily Everett!

My thoughts on the book:

Tessa is married to an amazing man, someone who saved her from a past that was not all the great. She is not set off on her own because he can't seem to love her the way she craves and she hopes to find the independence she craves when she find what feel like home in Sanctuary island. Johnny come home from a hell of a two year undercover operation, he knew if he could just get home and to his wife life would be right again. However she has gone and now he sets off to convince her he needs her to come home, but when he arrives on Sanctuary Island he's in for a surprise of his own and now he doesn't know what to do from here. Can he win her love and convince her there marriage was something beyond name or will it be to late?
I was so excited to get my hands on this book, I have fallen in love with Sanctuary Island and the fun characters there. This story was no different I loved this fun group of characters and I can not wait to read Marcus' story next. I loved how in this story from beginning to the end the storyline grabs your attention and keeps you all the way through. I love how the author throws in a twist just when you think you have it all figured out or you think whats going to happen next. I also really enjoyed the small element of suspense in the book it just seem to tie everything together. I also really enjoyed how she kept the characters relatable. The book does have some adult scenarios and may not be enjoyable for all readers. I will say this if you have or have not been following this series grab this book its so worth the read and you wont regret it.

Christmas in July Debbie Mason

What's the book about:
Grace Flaherty had given up hope of ever seeing her husband again. After all, it'd been over a year since he went missing in combat. So when he strides through the door of her bakery in downtown Christmas one sunny afternoon, she can hardly believe her eyes. But her happily-ever-after is going to take some effort - because Jack has no memory of his family.

All Jack Flaherty remembers about Christmas is that he couldn't wait to leave town. Now he's a local hero with a wife and son he doesn't know. Even as he struggles to rekindle the romance with his wife, he knows in his heart what he wants: a second chance at love.

My Thoughts on the book:
The book starts off really good and stays that way till the end I don't think there is a dull moment in this book, it keeps you wanting more. Right as I thought the book was ending the author would through another curve ball. Over all the story line was well written and very cute. She does a tribute to out men and women who serve and as an American who comes from a military family that means a lot to me. I think that only thing that is different about this book is it seemed like after one crisis was down another happened but if you think about that's how life works its not all fairy tales and everything is perfect, but for some readers you are so use to having everything be so "put together" in a book and in this case I love how the author did not do that, so over all the book was amazing and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

I got a free copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest option.

A Woman of Fortune Kellie Coates Gilbert

What is the book about:
Texas socialite Claire Massey is living the dream. Her world is filled with designer clothes, luxury cars, and stunning homes. But her Neiman-Marcus lifestyle comes crashing down when her charming cattle broker husband is arrested for fraud. Suddenly, she finds herself facing attorneys, a media frenzy, and a trail of broken hearts. Betrayed and humiliated, Claire must start over against incredible odds to save her family--and discover a life worth living.

My thoughts on the book:
I would have to say on a a-f rating I would rate this a B. I did not dislike the book but I have to say it wasn't one of my favorites either. I felt the book draws you in and then it goes down and up and down till you get till about the middle of the book and then its stays really steady. I do like how the book talks about unconditional love in the hard times. There is a lot of how not all rich people but so rich people act high then thou attitudes and to me it seems a little extreme at times. Since this book is based on a rich family who goes through something and then as a family they are tested greatly, and everything they know has been thrown upside down. At some points I was wondering if I was reading a christian book faith is not a big thing in the book but it is underlined.
I have to say my favorite characters in the whole book were Max and Jana Rae and it was because they seemed like the most down to earth and realistic people. They truly show what God's Love is and I think that was what the author may have been going for. The biggest factor in this book is forgiveness, and how we need to forgive and don't let the past dictate the future. I read this book in 2 days only cause I had to work other wise it is a fairly quick read. On the 2nd morning I woke up and the first verse that came to mind is John 15:13 I looked it up and this is what it reads: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
When I started reading this again the 2nd day this verse came to mind again and I really feel that that sums this book up perfectly. Over all I would say read the book give it a shot you may feel different about it then I do. But in the end I would have to say this is probably not a book I would keep on my shelf.

I was given a free copy of this book by netgalley for my honest option.

Shaken (Heart of a Warrior series) Kariss Lynch

What the Book is about:
When her world is shaken, will her foundation survive?
Idealistic and sheltered with a passion to change the world, Kaylan Richards leaves her comfortable life in Alabama to serve in poverty-stricken Haiti. Despite her inexperience and the opposition of a voodoo priest, Kaylan develops a love for the country and the Haitian people. But something deadly is about to strike.

It is the worst earthquake the country has ever seen, and in its aftermath bodies, buildings, and broken lives litter the streets. People she cares about are dead, and Kaylan is caught in the middle of the destruction, questioning a God who said He was good.

Navy SEAL Nick Carmichael never planned to find a girl he loved more than his country. Now she is a world away, trapped in a deadly situation nothing could have prepared her for. Can Nick’s love help Kaylan heal and show her the God who never abandoned her, or will tragedy shake even the most rooted faith?

My Thoughts on the book:
First off let me start off by saying that the book is broken up into 4 parts and so I wanted to break up my review into the same four parts, however the whole book is just that good I didn't want to do that I feel like I would be taking the book apart to much . In first Kaylan and Sarah Beth(BFF) graduate college a semester early and decide its there turns to take on the world, well at least Hati, so Kaylan has the daunting task of telling her parents her plan, but before that can happen her past has come back and now she is having 2nd thoughts about everything. Her and Sarah have a bond that Kaylan can turn to Sarah as a sister and ask her for anything or help her with anything they are like 2 peas in a pod. I had the hardest time putting this book down it was amazing it keeps you wanting for more and just want to put life on hold for a few hours just to read this book. From the very first page to the very last page the momentum of the story does not stop. This book hand down would get 8 stars if I could give it that. If you are ready to read a book that keeps you wanting more this is your book I would have to say I could easily compare where righting and hold you in the book style to Dee Henderson.I cant think of one negative thing to say about it.
