Canyon of Deceit Diann Mills

 Description:
A rescue team searches for a missing young girl and suspects all is not as it seems in this high-stakes romantic suspense novel from the author of Lethal Standoff and Facing the Enemy.

When wilderness survival expert Therese Palmer receives a frantic phone call from former colleague Professor Rurik Ivanov, she is shocked by the news that his young daughter, Alina, is missing—and that Rurik wants Therese’s help finding her. She’s sure Rurik hasn’t given her the whole story . . . especially since he refuses to report the kidnapping to the police. Yet with a child’s life hanging in the balance, Therese can’t turn down this mission. She knows the clock is ticking and she can’t do this alone.

Therese reaches out to Texas Ranger Blane Gardner, whom she met seven months ago during one of her training courses in wilderness survival skills. Blane’s specialized training and background with the Crisis Negotiation Unit make him uniquely prepared for this search-and-rescue mission. He agrees to help Therese and to accept Rurik’s terms to keep Alina’s disappearance quiet, and as the two begin working together, Therese is determined the spark growing between them won’t distract from their mission to save Alina.

Traversing deep into the desert of Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Alina’s last known location, Therese and Blane struggle to separate truth from lies within the mix of intel they’re receiving. As they close in on answers that suggest the involvement of Russian organized crime and a high-profile international assassination attempt, they must fight to rescue Alina before she becomes an innocent casualty of a much bigger plot—no matter the risk to their own lives.

My Review:
I am never disappointed when I get one of this authors book so I was excited when I grabbed this one. As always its one of book that start strong and I really struggled to put it down it just kept drawing me in. I really liked Blane he was a no non-sense kind of guy who tried to keep things as honest as possible no matter what. I really liked Therese she truly was a fighter, she didn't let anyone push her around. She wasn't in law enforcement but would stop at nothing to help find a child who needed to be found. Overall I like that this author keeps you drawn in till the very end, the author also kept this a clean read. Well worth the read.

Beneath Copper Falls Colleen Coble- Rock Harbor #6

Description:

Dana has already learned that love isn’t safe . . . but could it be different in Rock Harbor?

As a 911 dispatcher, Dana Newell takes pride in being calm in tough circumstances. In addition to her emotionally-charged career, she’s faced enough emergencies in her own life. She recently escaped her abusive fiancĂ© to move to tranquil Rock Harbor where she hopes life will be more peaceful.

But the idyllic town hides more danger and secrets than it first appeared. Dana is continually drawn to her new friend Boone, who has scars inside and out. Then she answers a call at her job only to hear a friend’s desperate screams on the other end. Soon the pain in her past collides with the mysteries of her new home—and threatens to keep her from the future she’s always wanted.

My thoughts on the book:

Dana has decided after dating a man who is not safe any longer maybe it would be better if she moved home this way she could be close to her friends and family and maybe they could help her. She never expected there to be more danger and secrets to uncover then when she came home and things start to reveal them self and she started to question what was really going on. Can she stay safe or is there more then meet the eye in this small town she called home once? Boone, is broken and scarred inside and out and he knows if he will ever find happiness again he needs to learn to let it go. But when he looses someone close to him and then his past seems to just come face to face with him he wonders what can happen next. When he seeks to help protect Dana he starts to wonder is there more then meets the eye with the world he had held so much anger towards?

OH MY GOODNESS, I just can't with this book. Literally from page one to the last page you are left guessing what the author is going to throw at you next and it keeps you on the edge of your seat for sure. The author has a way of sucking you in and then all of a sudden the book is over with. Wow just wow. I really enjoyed this book and wanted so much more from this story about these two. I am hoping they will appear in cameos in another book. (Its not a cliff hanger ending but you just get sucked into this book you are left wanting more.) I loved while this is a mystery the author kept the book good, clean and fun. I really enjoyed the biblical aspect of it as well. While Dana was trying to face a dangerous situation she was trying to get here heart right with God and see his handy work in whatever she faced on a day to day bases, and that seems to matter most. I enjoyed how Boone was broken he didn't come off as "whinny" but came off as a broken man looking for healing. If you want a book that will keep you guessing with every page turn seriously grab this book you will not regret it

Fraying the Edge Cindy Woodsmall - The Amish of Summer Grove #2

Description:
Family, community, faith, and love.
These “quilt blocks” sewn together made Ariana’s beautiful life.
When they are pulled to pieces,
will anything familiar remain?

The Old Order Amish life Ariana Brenneman loved vanished virtually overnight with the discovery that she was switched at birth twenty years ago. Now she’s immersed in the Englischer world, getting to know her mother and under the authority of her biological father, an atheist intellectual with resolute plans to expand Ariana’s worldview. Only Quill Schlabach, a childhood friend living Englisch, can steady the tilting ground between Ariana’s two worlds, but can she trust him after so many betrayals?

At the same time, Skylar Nash is forced to choose rehab or spend several months with her true relatives, the large Brenneman family and their seemingly backward life—no electricity, no technology, no fun. What the young woman can’t leave behind is her addiction to illegal prescription drugs and a deep emptiness from the belief that she doesn’t belong in either family.

New ties are binding Ariana and Skylar to the lives they were meant to have. Can they find the wisdom and strength they’ll need to follow God’s threads into unexpected futures?

Fraying at the Edge is the second novel in The Amish of Summer Grove series.

My thoughts on the book:

Ariana is given an ultimatum to spend a year with her bio parents or her dad will sue her amish parents. She is now doing everything they want but the pressure seems to much and she wonders how much more they can expect from her before she can go back to the simple way of living. Sky is given a choice live a year with her bio parents or rehab. She feel like her parents are just trying to dump her and her problems on someone else cause now the have the "perfect" daughter. They are both faced with a new life a new future and new way at looking at things and most of all they need to work through the pain that finding they were switched and now faced with everything. Can the work beyond it and learn to accept there new families or will it all be just to much?

This amish series is completely different then some of the other amish books I have read. This book does not try to even make it seem like the amish live this certain "perfect' life, this book as well as the first one they seemed to be portrayed more as a cult. That being said it made for a very good and interesting read. This book was just as good if not better then the first one. You are all over the place with emotions, you find your self laughing, crying and getting mad. The author did an amazing job with each one of these characters, my heart broke for both girls and what they are faced with. I keep hoping that Quill and Ariana fall in love but I am sure there is so much more fun to come in the next book. Family is super important with amish and it really showed in this series. Hands down this book is worth the read.

This book is part of a series and should be read as such.

Peace in the Valley Ruth Logan Herne - Double S Ranch Series #3

Description:
In spite of their differences, Trey Walker Stafford knows he owes his life to cowboy and legendary rancher Sam Stafford—the uncle who rescued him after his parents’ death. Trey had left the Double S Ranch to pursue music against Sam’s wishes, but returns to central Washington when he learns he’s the best match for a procedure that could save Sam’s life. Although Trey’s found country music fame and success, he’s also endured the tragic loss of his wife. He croons about love, but struggles with a yawning emptiness he can’t explain.

Overwhelmed by a growing list of challenges, but mistrustful of Stafford men, single mother Lucy Carlton reluctantly accepts Trey’s help to revive her crumbling farm when Sam instructs him to repay the overdue debt to her family.

As the two grow closer, Trey slowly begins to open his heart to this beautiful woman and strives to let go of the grief he’s held for years. Lucy has a complicated history of her own. Can Trey accept her as she is, learn to forgive the past, and find the elusive peace he's sought for so long?

My thoughts on the book:
The Stafford boys have never had it easy Trey should know that well but when faced with a decision to help or walk away he feel like deep down in his soul that he is missing something in his life so no matter what the decision is he needs to feel whole. Lucy doesn't trust any of the Stafford men, but when one seems "crash" into her life she feels like she can't escape them at all. Can she learn to trust the Stafford's when they reach out to help her or is she better off with out them?
I am sure this is the last book in the series however I want so much more. I love the Stafford's, I love how the author made this family the whole family imperfect and how they each faced a set of struggles, and Trey being the Nashville country star was faced with some through out this book. I truly enjoyed this story it held my attention throughout and keeps you wanting more with each page. I noticed a pattern in this series there seem to be a small drag in each one of the book this one included however it was very minor and quickly get right back in and it leaves you wanting so much more. You really can not go wrong with this series such amazing books.

Pointe and Shoot Alison Stone

Description:

Jayne Murphy has always put family first. That’s why she abandoned her dream of joining the police force to run her ailing mother’s dance studio.
When one of the studio’s most talented instructors dies in a car crash, Jayne isn’t convinced it was just an accident. Relentlessly pursuing her hunch, she teams up with Officer Danny Nolan, the best friend and partner of her brother Patrick, who died in the line of duty. Haunted by Patrick’s death, Danny has begun to question whether he should still be a cop at all.
As Jayne digs deeper, suspects emerge, including the victim’s clingy ex-boyfriend and a jealous foe from the cutthroat dance world. Her evolving insights into the case rekindle Jayne’s passion for police work. Danny, too, feels a renewed sense of purpose…and a definite attraction to his unofficial partner, which seems to be mutual. Now, if Jayne can only keep herself out of harm’s way, she and Danny both might get a second chance—with their careers and each other.

My thoughts on the book:

Jayne's dreams are put on hold so that she can take care of her mom as she has become ill. But she still dreams of one day becoming the best cop she can ever be. When her best friend and neighbor dies she sets off to prove it was not an accident, but will she be able to prove it before before its to late or will someone else get hurt in the mix? Danny has faced the loss of his best friend and wants nothing more to just be accepted as the amazing cop he has set out to be and not someone who caused his best friends death. When he comes face to face with the family that he considered his second family he wonders if forgiveness is ok. Now he has bigger things looking into the death of someone even though every one swears its just an accident. Will he be able to get to the bottom of this or will he put his job on the line?
I really enjoyed this book, I wasn't sure what to expect as I totally went off the cover only. Alison is a new author find for me, and I was not disappointed at some points I thought the book was predictable and then something would happen and then everything would change my way of thinking. Literally this book had me guessing all the way to the end. I did however not like Jayne's brothers they totally seems ugh(can't say much more without disclosing more then you might want to know). I loved that this is a clean read and that there is no strong language in the book. This book reminds me everything is not as they seem. if your looking for a book you can't put down that draws you in grab this one and have fun, you won't be disappointed.

My Hope Next Door Tammy L. Gray

Description:

Former bad girl Katie Stone can feel the weight of her reputation settle over her as she drives home for the first time in years. Feeling deeply guilty about her past mistakes, Katie wants to do the right thing for once. But the small town where she grew up is not nearly as forgiving as she’d hoped. Despite it all, she’s determined to help her parents cope with her mother’s recent illness, and Katie finds a surprise ally in the man next door.

Asher Powell never minded being the son of a small-town pastor until a recent breakup leaves him wounded by lifelong members of his church. He remembers his new neighbor as a mean-spirited high school troublemaker, but he senses that her newfound faith and desire for forgiveness are sincere.

Through an unexpected friendship, two people from different worlds find peace, hope, and a second chance they never dreamed was possible.

My thoughts on the book:

Katie is called home to the one place she never wanted to return to help her parents. One who rather she go back to the rock she climbed out of and one who's just not sure what to think but needs her help. When Katie seeks help in the most unlikely of place she wonders if this is a good idea or should be really just pack her stuff and get out of town before secrets are revealed and people are hurt.
Asher is sick of the stuck up people who have nothing better to do then judge a situation that they know nothing about. He is angry at himself and those in his fathers church who seem set to destroy him. When Katie comes to town he has no love loss there but he wonders if he needs to show her Gods love like he was raised and help her where she needs the help. Will the two find forgiveness that they are seeking or will it all come to a head and they both or one loose everything they have fought so hard for?
Forgiveness and grace can come in the most unusual places but it can also bring things up you would rather stay in the past. The author did an amazing job of telling a story about forgiveness in so many ways and a love like no other, the love of God who has grace for all of us when we don't always deserve it. In this book it deals with some very tough subjects and deals with some tough topics. I love how she didn't make it cut and dry like some authors tend to do. The characters seems so relatable and had a way of connecting with them as if you are truly catching up with friends you haven't seen in forever. I could not put this book down I needed to know what was going to happen next from the very beginning. I really enjoyed Katie and her firecracker personality and Asher is equal personality. I really would highly recommend this book, you really will not be disappointed.

Queen of My Heart (Life Won't Wait, #1) Nikki Lynn Barrett

Description:
When the next King of country music offers to take you under his wing, what's a girl to do?
Pinch herself, of course. Repeatedly. Then take the offer!
Quinn Winters is tired of being the actress known for most killed off characters. After discovering her love of music when her last role portrayed a country singer on a daytime soap opera, she's making a much needed change in life. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and expectations needed to succeed in Music City. One pleading call from her sister puts her in an all too familiar, but unwanted position.

Five years ago, Tucker McGinnis auditioned for a reality singing show, never expecting to win. His sudden fame and popularity comes as a major surprise. After a multi platinum debut, his second album is suffering the dreaded sophomore jinx. His musical muse becomes elusive when guilt plagues him over an accident which affects his family. He is blown away by Quinn when he overhears her audition at his record label, singing his most personal song.

An attraction builds, and a connection through music is formed. But when life gets in the way, Tucker makes another offer - A temporary marriage which will benefit both of them, until things become too real.

Two souls destined for the stage, two hearts blending together to create beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music's next power couple- if they can shed the images of who they used to be.

My thoughts on the book:

Quinn is in Nashville to make her dreams come true, while she was a shoe in as a child for acting she knows that her love is music. When she auctions and everything doesn't go as planned she starts to question her choices. She has some family and personal secrets she likes to keep buried she runs into non other then Tucker McGinnis and he agrees to show her the ropes. Will she be able to protect her heart, her secrets and make her dreams come true or will it all fall at the wayside when her family comes calling? Tucker has his own demons he is dealing with but when he makes it big in Nashville he has his own set of choices he needs to make. When he walks in and hears Quinn singing his song he knows he need to get to know that voice and that person like yesterday. But will his demons and secrets keep separating and pushing them further apart or will it all come crumbling down around them and leave them with nothing but each other?
Where do I even begin with this book. I so so so enjoyed it. It had me all over the place with my emotions. One minute my heart is breaking right along side the characters and then in the next I can seen the mending of hearts. This book is a little on the long side but to be honest I could not imagine any portion of the book missing. It was amazing. I truly had a hard time not putting life to the side to finish this book. The characters may be rich and famous but they are just like you and me and the story made you truly feel like you were connecting with friends. I can't say that there was really anything I didn't like about the book. I enjoyed Lily and Stacey's role in the book and how even the small part they had such and impact on the story as a whole. I felt the same way about baby Piper. I loved the raw emotion the author wrote in the book and the storyline was fun to follow. I would say while I did enjoy this book hands down this book is not for all readers as it does contain some strong language, while it is very small amount I just feel the need to warn my readers. Other wise go grab this book because you will not be disappointed.

The Family Man Kelly Eadon

What's the book about:

TEMPTATION NEVER TASTED SO SWEET...

When life hands lemons to Beth Beverley, she makes mouthwatering lemon squares. Mostly because they're coveted by the sexy single dad who owns Belmont's most popular coffee shop. But that's where her crush on Griffin has to end. Her sweet treats are selling like crazy cakes in his shop, and she doesn't mix business with pleasure. Too bad his sinful smile has her flirting with the idea of forever.
Griffin Hall definitely needs to keep his eyes--and his hands--off Beth. Since he's traded in late-night gigs and partying for bedtime stories with his little girl in his arms, he doesn't have time for anything else. So why does Beth's big heart and easy way with his daughter make him finally feel alive again? But there's a little secret Beth doesn't know, something he can't bear to tell her . . .

My thoughts on the book:
Beth is starting over again so she working 3 part time jobs and she just enjoys making her muffins and her delivery especially to the very sexy business owner Griffin. She works so hard to get his attention to put a smile on his face every time she makes that delivery, but when she finds out he has a daughter she wonders if they can have a relationship and if she can make it work. Griffin gave up his life of traveling and parting for the best thing that has ever happen to him his daughter. He really can not take his eyes off of Beth overtime he sees her and he wonders if he can date and protect his caught and give her the best life he know she deserves. But he's keeping a secret and he knows that he needs to tell Beth before they go any further but will he hold off to long and loose everything he holds precious to him?
Kelly has done it again, she knocked it out of the park. I really enjoyed this book.  I love the crazy, quirky fun loving people in this book. I loved the fun role Griffin's daughter May played in the book she just was such a pistol with a sweet personality. I had a hard time putting this book down I know its like 250 pages but it didn't feel like that all I was kind of sad to see it end, because it was just that good. There are some adult scenes and strong language in the book so the book may not be for everyone but those who don't mind this book is so worth the read and very, very enjoyable. It's full of laughs and full of heart of the matter as well.

Yet a killer is dead set on ensuring that Faith's memory never returns.

My thoughts on the book:
Faith is on the run from someone she has know idea who she just knows if she wants to stay alive then she has to keep moving if she wants to stay alive. When she ends up in a small town in Maine she hopes her stalker won't find her and that she can finally have some peace and figure out whats going on.  JT runs into his neighbor late one night and knows she hiding something and she running from someone. After a few chapters I thought I had it all figured out and just kept reading the longer it went on it made me wonder if I did. Everything went right out the window and it kept me guessing all the way to the end, this book was amazing and you can not go wrong with it at all.

Hope Harbor, Irene Hannon

What's the book about:
Tracy Campbell never wanted to leave Hope Harbor, Oregon, or the idyllic three-generation cranberry farm where she grew up. But life–and love–altered her plans.

When tragedy strikes and changes her plans yet again, she finds herself back in her hometown with a floundering farm to run and a heartbreaking secret. Romance is not on her agenda. Nor is it on Michael Hunter’s. The visitor from Chicago has daunting secrets of his own. But when Tracy recruits him to help save a struggling charitable organization, the winds of change begin to sweep through Hope Harbor, bringing healing, hope, and love to countless lives–including their own.

My thoughts on the book:

Tracy Campbell is home in Hope Harbor she's hard at work on her family cranberry farm and working hard at saving it. She has experienced a lot of loss in her life and at this point her only focus is getting and keeping the farm in black and maybe she can let go of the guilt and regret she has lived with for the last two years. Michael has just come to Hope Harbor to visit and in hopes of finding answers he also needs to find forgiveness and hopes that the town of Hope Harbor will live up to its name and bring him Hope. When Tracy comes crashing into his life he knows it just one more he needs to correct but he needs to figure out how he can do that and still find the hope he is seeking.  Ann is a recluse and has been for some time and when she find Micheal on the street corner she knows she needs to help him and she's completely drawn to him for only one reason will she be able to keep her reclusive lifestyle and help him? Will all three find the forgiveness they are seeking or will it be to late?
I really enjoyed this book 100%. The book has three main characters and the author did an amazing job tying them all together in the storyline, it was easy to keep up with and was completely enjoyable book. Each character is dealing with forgiveness and weather forgiving themselves or forgiving someone else they struggle with the guilt. The characters were very relatable and I found it easy to fall in love with them and they felt more like catching up with a friend the reading a book about fictional characters. You really can not go wrong with this book so amazing.

Trial and Tribulations Rachel Rylan

What's the book about:
A Windy Ridge Legal Thriller #1

High-powered attorney Olivia Murray faces the biggest test of her career when she is assigned to represent Astral Tech, a New Age tech company, in a lawsuit filed by its biggest competitor. While Olivia is accustomed to hard fights in the courtroom, she arrives in Windy Ridge and discovers there is much more to this case than the legal claims—forces of darkness are at work.

Windy Ridge quickly turns from quiet Chicago suburb to spiritual battleground, and Olivia must rely on her faith to defend against legal and spiritual attacks. Although they are enemies in the courtroom, Olivia finds a friend and unlikely ally in opposing counsel, Grant Baxter. Once a skeptic about faith, he ultimately comes to her aid when she needs it most.

The battle between evil forces heats up in and out of the courtroom, pushing Olivia to the breaking point. Will she be able to help good triumph over evil, or will the town of Windy Ridge be torn apart?

My thoughts on the book:
The battle has just begun....
Olivia is called in to be an attorney for a New age company in a lawsuit brought agains another New age company over an app and theft. Immediately she know that this is not going to be just any normal battle or cases and wonders if she should risk her job and call the superiors and be on the next flight home or should she stay and fight a battle that is not hers alone to fight. She's in more then just a legal battle but a spiritual one and wonders if she is strong enough or if old memories will come back and be to much, will she stay and fight the battle through or will she finally have enough and walk away? Grant is fighting a lawsuit with a new age company he doesn't believe in anything and really could careless about the going ons with this case he just knows he need to get through this one to get to the next one. But when "strange" things start happening he starts to question if there really is another power out there and if the battle is worth the fight. Will be find God before its to late or will the battle be his to fight alone?

This book is completely powerful and very deep so be prepared. The author keeps everything in layman's terms thought out the whole book so thats nice everything from the spiritual battle being fought to the lawsuit being fought. The battle between evil and good is through out the talk of seeing and feeling angels and demons is talked about in depth in this book. I am a strong believer in spiritual warfare so this book was just another eye opener of how when we dabble in things that we shouldn't such as witch craft and such there is consequences. If you are looking for a deep book full of adventure this book just might interest you. Also this book ends in a way that the battle is not over and there is more to come.

Reunion Pass Emily March

What's the book about:

Six years ago, Chase Timberlake bought an engagement ring for his high school sweetheart Lori Reese. Then...life happened. Chase’s adventure photography career took off, Lori’s dream of getting into veterinary school came true, and their happily ever after never came to pass.
When Chase’s jet-setting life takes a tragic turn, he returns to Eternity Springs a damaged man. Who better to help mend his spirit than the woman who has dedicated her life to healing broken wings? Long summer days spent together rekindles the love that never died and Chase dares to dream of a future he’d thought lost. But Lori can’t help but wonder whether this high-flying man really wants a small-town girl with roots sunk deep into the Colorado Rockies. Can she and Chase turn back the hands of time and pick up where they left off—and give forever a chance?

My thoughts on the book:
Six years ago Chase and Lori let life get away from them and separate what was a good thing. Now Lori has finished school and started her on vet clinic when Chase comes to town with his now fiancé and she now knows all the hope of getting back together is gone. When tragedy strikes and bring Chase home he pushes everyone away that matters and knows he needs to get out of this town before he drags more people down with him. He just can't seem to let go of the small town where he feels like home. With Lori's roots dug deep and Chase only on the surface will Lori be able to help Chase or will it all be to late.
I found this book addictive and hard to put down, had to keep turning pages just to find out what happens. Such a sweet love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leaving wanting more. It reminds you to always live life to the fullest cause you never know what tomorrow holds. There is nothing about this book I did not like such a sweet and powerful book totally enjoyable. If you are looking to be sucked into a small town with some wonderful funny characters that feel like you are going home then this is the book for you and you won't regret it.

Plain Choice Sarah Price

What's the book about:
Amanda’s husband, Cuban pop star Alejandro, believed he was doing right by his wife when he left her on her parents’ farm in the familiar shelter of Lancaster’s Amish community. Amanda, however, has other ideas. Unwilling to sit idly by and hide from the paparazzi, she follows her husband to Europe for the start of his world tour to find out if their marriage can be saved once and for all.
When the two reunite, it’s plain to see that their love is stronger than their differences. But as they travel together, Amanda is surprised to discover that her own fame is beginning to match her husband’s. Now she must struggle to bridge her Amish upbringing and a new, unasked-for role in the public eye. As other unexpected tensions challenge their bond, can Amanda and Alejandro keep their promises and make space for her faith, his fame, and a growing love?

My thoughts on the book:
Alejandro leaves Amanda and he is to stubborn to make it right because he thinks he's doing the right thing by her. So off on the world tour he goes and he doesn't look back or question his choice till he's there and starts to wonder what like would be with out her and he wonders if the choices he's making are the right ones. Amanda is back home on the farm with Alejandro's daughter and knows it time to fix things with her husband she's just waiting for him to make the first move, well until someone brings to her attention that may she needs to do it. So off to she goes and hopes its not to late and Alejandro will have her again. But will they be able to work things out even with the secrets that come out.
I was not a fan of book 4 at all but this book made up for it. This book was the perfect follow up, the book draws you in and keeps you till the end. The story sums up Alejandro and Amanda and there lives and sweet family, they are once again faced with trials that could make or break some couples. The story line this time made them seem more real and less like untouchable. I really don't think there was one thing about the book I did not like. You really will not be disappoint with this wonderful story.

Sense and Sensibility Sarah Price

What's the book about:
Henry Detweiler dies unexpectedly, leaving his second wife and three daughters, Eleanor, Mary Ann, and Maggie, in the care of John, his oldest son from a previous marriage. John and his wife, Fanny, inherit the farm and, despite a deathbed promise to take care of their stepmother and half-sisters, John and Fanny make it obvious that Mrs. Detweiler and her daughters are not welcomed at the farm. When Edwin Fischer, Fanny’s older brother, takes notice of Eleanor and begins to court her, much to the disapproval of his sister, Fanny makes life even more difficult for the Detweiler women.

In their new home, Eleanor wonders if Edwin will come calling while Mary Ann catches the attention of Christian Bechtler, an older bachelor in the church district, and John Willis, a younger man set to inherit a nearby farm. While Eleanor quietly pines for Edwin, Mary Ann does not hide her infatuation with John Willis. When the marriage proposal from John Willis does not materialize, Mary Ann is left grief-stricken and humiliated as the Amish community begins to gossip about their relationship. In the meantime, a broken-hearted Eleanor learns that Edwin is engaged to another woman.

Will admitting her affections for him result in the marriage proposal Eleanor has always desired?

My thoughts on the book:

Detweiler women were forced from there home after the unexpected loss of their father and husband. When they get settled Eleanor wonders if she will be able to remain close to Edwin or if the relationship and moving has taken its toll and its time for her to move on. Mary Ann meets a man who she believes is the love of her life but her family quickly see he may just be hiding something that could destroy Mary Ann all the while Christian sits back and knows he will have to bide his time so that he can show her what everyone else sees. But will it all be to late for the girls or will they both find love waiting on the other side of the loss?
I just loved this book. Usually I like to have the story told from both peoples point of view but Sarah did and amazing job nailing it with this book. I loved each of the characters from the nasty sister in law to the busy body neighbor and the sassy little sister who is just to happy to be grown up. The loss in the book just get you but you see Gods working hand in all of it. There was not one thing I did not like about this book. I found it extremely hard to put down the book is extremely captivating and draws you in to a point where you just need to know what happens. Such a page turner. You really can not go wrong with this book so worth the buy.

From Bags to Riches Sandra D. Bricker

What's the book about:
Jessie Hart worked so hard to put her Louisiana roots in the rearview mirror and her Adornments boutique on the map. So when renegade “husband” Jack turns up again, the new and improved Jessie catches his attention. As he fights through his residual legal battles, he makes every effort to win her back and marry her for real this time... before Danny gets the chance.

When a celebrity stylist with her own reality show makes Adornments a hot spot, Jessie’s hard work is finally paying off. But amid award shows and photo shoots, Jessie’s beloved grandfather is diagnosed with cancer and she’s nudged back to the Louisiana roots she worked so hard to escape. Now, in her quest to find the success, true love, and faith that has always eluded her, will God really lead her right back home?

My thoughts on the book:
Jessie is finally putting the past behind her well at least she hopes to be done with it. When Danny propose she is not sure where to go, is she suppose to be married again what if she is suppose to remain single. She also knows its time to go back to Slidell LA and see Grampy before he's gone, but will she finally make things right or will it be to late and will she loose everything close to her after Jack drops another "lie" on her or is it a "lie"? Danny knows asking Jessie to marry him will take some convincing but he also know its time to let her truly see him for who he is and how much he loves her. So off to Slidell he goes in hopes to gain some insight from the person closest to her and help get him the help with the cancer in hopes to give Jessie a little more time. But with Jack at it again he's not sure if leaving Jessie is such a good idea will he be able to help both Jessie and her grampy or will he have to move on and deal with the fall out.

Sandie has done it again. I loved this book the whole thing tired up all three books up nicely. I loved how even with trials and tribulations through out this series Danny continues to show his loyalty and his love to Jessie. I love how Jessie has is surround with amazing friends and even in the worst parts of her life she still has some crazy ideas and still her friends choose to stand by her. In this book its stays right along the same path, there was a part in the book that I was hopeful for one more book only because I really enjoy this group of characters. It draws you in and all your left wanting to do is sit back and enjoy as your right there along with them. In this book Jack continues to throw stuff Jessie's and Danny's way with the help from both their connections they work hard in hope to stop him, it just seems as he continues to stay one stop ahead of them which adds just a little bit of suspense the story and leaves you wondering what is he going to do next. Jessie's grumpy plays a much more active roll in this book and his quirkiness is wonderful it adds the fun and simpleness to the book while still keeping you drawn in. I really enjoyed this book and these characters and am going to miss them. You really can not go wrong with this book so worth the read.

moment of truth sandra d bricker

What's the book about:
Regan Sloane was married once. Eight years, no kids, she got the house. In the years since the divorce, she's managed to keep afloat with the only real skill she has: Writing. She hadn't really noticed how her readership had blossomed until a well-known reviewer noticed her sweet little lifestyle blog. When had it transformed into a single woman's go-to? With the life and loves of her four BFFs to fuel the content and have her back at every turn Regan realizes that something magical happens when women join forces. Girl Power just might be the new super power!

My thoughts on the book:
This book has five main characters and usually I am not a fan of some many because you usually can not keep up with everything thats going on, however in this book that is not the case at all. The author did such an amazing job telling each story and letting the stories flow together so well. The storyline is also so well written you find you self more or less feel like you are watching a movie or a really good tv show. The story is nothing like I have read from this author. The story its self has you drawn in and seems like you are catching up with your best friend and their life not just reading a book, so life like and real. Each of the five characters goes through life and some face some really hard things, and loss, and some face new challenges in life all the while just enjoying there Thursday night book club where they take time each week to share dessert and catch up. I really had a hard time putting this book down. I didn't want it to be over because I was enjoying the book so much. I really hope you find your self enjoying it as well because you really can not go wrong with getting this book and sharing it with you best friend.

The Stage Shelby Rebecca

What's the book about:
Mia, the saint.
Kolton, the sinner.
Kolton Royce is a tatted, bad boy rock star at the top of his game.
Mia Phoenix is an overly responsible nineteen-year-old striving for stardom since losing her parents in a house fire.
When Mia ends up on Kolton’s team for the debut of the new nationwide singing competition, The Stage, she’s not sure if it’s her or her voice that he’s hellbent to control.
After he takes special interest in her welfare, they’ve been warned, any contact between them outside of filming is strictly forbidden.
He has other ideas.
She’s a phoenix rising from the ashes, the only one who understands the pain that lies beneath the persona. Though he’s not sure if he’s too bad for her, he can’t stay away.
All sinners have a past. All saints have a future. But, does being born in fire make the fissures weak in all the wrong places, or stronger than they’ve ever known?

My thoughts on the book:
Mia has lost everything but her little sister and her dads guitar. When she is contacted to be on a new show call The Stage. She is not sure if up and taking this challenge will really be worth it because she doesn't want to up and ruin her sisters life after they have lost so much. She decides maybe this is the best for them and that it will take them to places they could never go other wise. Things are thrown and them and she starts to feel like her life is falling a part and she is wondering if Riley and her will come out on the other side stronger or it they will loose even more. Kolton has the life most people have dreamed of he is famous has beautiful girls but he has secrets. He is set to be a coach on the new up coming show called The Stage he has his ideas of what will happen and no one can stop him. He just never expected what happened and sure as heck never expected someone from the past to seek him and those close to him out. Will him and those close be able to get through everything in one piece.

This book in some parts has you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages just to find out what happens next. Its amazing very suspenseful but and amazing love story. The love the loss and the over all chemistry is coming off the pages. The book ends perfect but the first chapter into the 2nd book ends with a cliff hanger and leaves you wanting so much more. If you are looking for a book that just leaves you up late wanting to know what happens next and draws you in this book is worth the read and worth the buy. Cant wait for book two.

In honor of Be My Valentino coming out Next week I am going to be doing a give away so read to the bottom and I will tell you how it goes.

Heres what the book is about:
Now that the whole truth has come out about her husband’s double life—including the fact that she and Jack were never legally married—Jessie is standing on her own for the first time in her life. As she struggles to put Adornments, her rental store for designer labels, on the map in Tinsel Town, her relationship with private investigator Danny Callahan gains momentum.

When she dresses a reluctant Danny in Valentino for undercover work at a formal affair, it’s him rather than her store that captures Hollywood’s notice. Danny, snapped by photogs, lands as the unlikely cover model on the front of L.A. Magazine. So much for inconspicuous. Will his popularity thwart her efforts to grow her business? Or worse, can Jessie afford to put her faith—and heart—into another relationship when she’s so obviously handicapped in the good judgment department?

Now that the whole truth has come out about her husband’s double life—including the fact that she and Jack were never legally married—Jessie is standing on her own for the first time in her life. My thoughts on the book:

New starts are never easy; there are lots of bumps in the road that get you to new starts and new chapters, as we quickly learned in book number one. Sometimes after you pick your self off you get knocked down again atleast thats how Jessie is feeling or so it seems. She seems to have everything right where she wants for now and is ready to move towards the future, when her ex husband Jack drops into her world ready to have his say and has not problem who he steps on to get there.
Danny is really happy to continue this journey with Jessie we feel like they may have something really special going on but she can't seem to get a break and he's just not sure he knows what to do either. He never thought he would feel like this ever again. When Jessie and he run into his past for even just a minute he seems to have a few doubt of his own but he is off to help some good people get his head straight and see what the future holds for Jessie and him.

The plot and the storyline literally grab you and draw you from one page to the next and keep you there from the beginning of the book till the very end. You will find your self laughing and even some times crying. You find your self so drawn into the story you don't want to put the book, you want to no you need to know what happens and you find yourself really on the edge of your seat and then you get to the end and you just want more. If you read On a Ring and a Prayer (the first book) you find yourself catching up with some old friends and making new ones along in the journey.  I have to say hands down I will be telling everyone I know about this book, can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out. This book did not disappoint and you cannot go wrong with buy this book. The only bad thing is now I have to wait till book three comes out. But hey thats not such a bad thing right.
