Maybe for You Nicole McLaughlin- A Whiskey and Weddings #3

Description:

She’s never had a no-strings fling. He’s never had anything else. But maybe this time will be an exception?

After a year of mourning her fiancé, Alexis Parker has worked hard to rediscover what she wants out of life. Fresh out of the military and back stateside, her brother offers her a marketing job at the Stag Distillery. Ready for a new challenge, Alexis agrees to accompany her new co-worker Jake Cooper on a Stag cross-country promotional tour. He may have an infamous playboy reputation, but Alexis is surprised to find out that there is more to him than meets the eye. And she likes what she sees. . .

Jake promised Alexis’s brother that he’d be an absolute gentleman. Of course, that was before he and Alexis hit the road, and they both agree that what Alexis’s big brother doesn’t know won’t hurt him. The plan: to keep their fling confined to the RV, and everything will go back to normal once they head home. Things progress in ways neither of them could have imagined, and Jake realizes that he and Alexis make a perfect mix. Can he convince her that he’s ready to shake things up and give true love a shot in Maybe for You?

My thoughts on the book:

She just needs to heal and she finds friendship in the least likely place. Can she find the peace she's looking for and can he show her he can be her friend without something more?
This is powerful for sure, You will laugh and cry and laugh some more. This book is about finding healing in loss and finding hope when all else seems loss. While Alex is trying to find hope and continue living after the loss of her fiancĂ© she also feels like its best to not get to close to anyone. This book is a quit read and I had a hard time putting it down from page one to the end. This book was such a sweet love story with not just Alex and Jake but it also follows up with TJ, Jenn, Charlotte and Dean, which was so nice to find out whats been going on with them.  This book does have adult language and adult situations but this book was so worth the read and I hope there is more to come from Stag Bar. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Bull Rider's Return Joan Kilby- The 79th Cooper Mountain Rodeo #2

Description:
No good deed goes unpunished...

Rough rider Cody Starr relishes his reputation as the bad boy on the rodeo circuit. When he impulsively leaves his prize money as a tip for a struggling waitress so her little boy can get a heart operation, Cody keeps quiet about it, knowing he’s only atoning for past sins. His good deed is outed when Kelly Reid drives across three states to thank him in person. Despite the fact that Kelly forces him to confront his past and question everything, Cody starts to fall hard for her.

Single mom Kelly Reid thinks Cody is a Hero with a capital H. She believes in Cody, but she knows that nothing long term can come of their intense attraction until he believes in himself. Is Cody the love ‘em and leave ‘em guy he claims to be or could he possibly be the man of her dreams?

My thoughts on the book:
When it seems like there is not hope for Kelly and her son some one does something super special and she knows she could never repay him. But when she seeks him out to thank him things take a turn. Can Cody open his heart to Kelly and her son or will the trip be for nothing?
I thought this story was super sweet love story over all. I really like both Kelly and Cody, but I am not a fan of how she seemed to "chase" him. I found her a strong independent women one moment and then the next she seemed almost co-dependent. I loved Ricky and how no matter what he was faced with he had this bubbly personality about him that truly seem too add a whole other element to the story. I also loved how close Cody's family was and the feeling of belonging that just jumped off the pages. I wish there was more of a follow up on one of the characters. This book does have strong language and adult situations. I hope there is more to come from Sweetheart there seems like another great community like Marietta.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Snowbound With the Best Man Allie Pleiter

Description:

Snowed in with the best man at a wedding weekend, florist Kelly Nelson can’t help but notice that the handsome widower seems overwhelmed raising his young daughter. So Kelly is delighted when her own daughter befriends the girl. But when the little matchmakers target Kelly and Bruce with an adorable Valentine’s Day plot, will the reluctant single parents give love a second chance?

My thoughts on the book:
Two little girls become instant friends and try there hand at match making when it back fires they decided to take there orneriness to a whole new level. Can they get away with it while there parents work together to make a wedding happen without another hitch?
I loved how the author uses to young girls with so much personality in this story. I really also enjoyed how the story felt more realistic then fiction. The relationship between Kelly and Bruce seemed natural as well, however at the end it did seem a little rushed. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all ages. I really enjoyed this quick read over all.

Cowboy, Cross My Heart by Donna Grant- Heart of Texas #2

Description:
New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant takes you deep inside the Texas rodeo scene in the second book in her Heart of Texas series, Cowboy, Cross My Heart, where danger and desire ride side by side. . .

Naomi Pierce isn’t the type to let a cowboy sweep her off feet. It’s not her first rodeo, after all. But when she returns to her Texas hometown, she can’t help but be swept up again in the rough-and-tumble world of hard-riding, bronco-busting good-ol’-boys she loved as a girl. She might be here to photograph her Rodeo Queen best friend. But it’s one fine-looking cowboy who really captures her eye…

Brice Harper is all man, all muscle, and all heart. From the moment he rides into the stadium, he can’t help but notice the beautiful stranger with a camera watching him from the stands. It doesn’t take a zoom lens to see the sparks of instant attraction. But things really heat up when he meets Naomi up-close—and he discovers that someone is stalking her friend. Brice wouldn’t be any kind of cowboy if he didn’t offer to help the ladies out. But can the rough rider keep this spirited shutterbug out of danger—without risking his heart?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved the cover of this book so I grabbed it without reading on what it was about. I was not disappointed at all. I found the book completely hard too put down it was so good. From the beginning to the end it had you wondering each page was going to happen next for sure totally a on the edge of your seat and a real page turner. I really enjoyed Abby and how protective she was over her family, and its not just blood but those who you make family. I loved Jase and Cooper and how big of a role they played in this family as well. This book does have strong language and adult situations, however this book was so worth the read and did not disappoint at all. I can't wait to read more about this wonderful family. I did not read this first one and can't wait to grab it and read about Clayton and Abby's story.

As the Tide Comes In Cindy and Erin Woodsmall

Description:

A New York Times best-selling author releases her first southern novel, a Steel Magnolias-meets-Sweet Home Alabama story set on St. Simons Island.

When an unthinkable loss sends Tara Abbott's life spiraling out of control, she journeys from North Carolina to Georgia's St. Simons Island. Although confused and scared, she hopes to find answers about her past - her life before the years of foster care and raising her two half-brothers as a young adult. Will she find steady ground on the island, surrounded by an eccentric-but-kindhearted group of older women called The Glynn Girls and a determined firefighter? Or will the truth splinter what's left of her identity into pieces?

My thoughts on the book:

Tara feels like she has loved and loss and this time it's hitting her harder then anyone could have ever imagined. When she takes off to the one place her brothers planned on taking her and she seeks answers she wonders if she can find someone who may hold the key to her past and her future. Gavin and The Glynn Girls are a force to be messed with they love fiercely but they won't be messed with either. Can the ladies help Tara find her way or will they be more of a hindrance than help?

I absolutely loved this book. First a warning it will pull at your heart strings so make sure you have a box of tissues close by. I loved how no matter what Tara was faced with she this fighting spirit in her even when she had nothing left. I loved how in this book that it wasn't this love story all wrapped up in this perfect bow but something worth fighting for. I loved, loved, loved The Glynn Girls they were so much fun and I loved how the authors included there story in her as well If we could all be lucky enough to have that kind of friendship. This is a good clean read that faces some tough subject but just an amazing read, you won't regret grabbing this book.

The Cowboy Meets His Match Sarah Mayberry- The 79th Cooper Mountain Rodeo #1

Description:

All Cassidy Jane Cooper wants is to fulfill her dream to compete in pro rodeo. CJ knows she’s going to have to work harder and smarter than everyone else to prove herself in the traditionally all-male saddle bronc competition. That means she shouldn’t look twice at handsome, charming cowboy, Jesse Carmody. She needs to focus on the competition, not one of her competitors. If only he wasn’t so damn hot…

Jesse Carmody thinks he’s seen it all–until CJ’s arrival throws him for a loop. She’s tough, sexy, and challenging. Jesse quickly realizes he wants to know a whole lot more about this intriguing woman. When CJ faces ugly opposition from others on the circuit, Jesse is there to offer a friendly hand–and more, if she wants it.

Between her trials in the arena and fighting to get the other riders to respect her, CJ knows getting involved with Jesse is the last thing she should do. But she can’t seem to keep away. Which leaves her with a choice–the man of her heart, or the career of her dreams? Or can she have them both?

My thoughts on the book:

CJ has something to prove and she has no problem proving it. I mean what could go wrong with a women taking on a bunch of men in an only man sport. Jessie is immediately captivated by CJ and when he gets off on a bad foot now he just needs to make her see he's not all that bad.

CJ had no problem holding her own at all and she also had this softer side to her that you could really relate too. I loved, loved her and Sierra it was seriously like two peas in a pod and more like sisters instead of new friends. I felt like Jessie was one of those good guys that finishes last, but also is broken and is dealing with some deep stuff. I didn't enjoy how this whole booked seemed that everything was built on sex, while the chemistry was super explosive I just felt like it might have been a little better without so much. That being said I did really enjoy the relationship between the Carmody's and how they were there for each other even thought there were other things going on.

His Best Friend's Sister Eve Gaddy- Devil's Rock at Whiskey River Book 2

Description:
Whiskey River businessman Zack Banister has had his eye on Laurel Lewis for years, even though she's always been off-limits. The timing has never been right between them, but now that they're both free, Zack is determined to convince Laurel that he's the perfect man for her.

The last thing Laurel needs is a white knight. She's a single mom and knows she can only rely on herself. But the thought of a fling with Zack is a different matter--and far too tempting to resist.

Then reality crashes in and Laurel faces hard decisions. And Zack will do anything to convince her to take a risk on him for their happy ever after.
My thoughts on the book:

Zack is in love with Laurel he just needs to convince her that he's in love with her and his intentions are true. Laurel is broken and keeping a secret from her family and she knows it could destroy her and one of those things is she can't let herself ever fall in love again.

I loved Zack, Harlen and Travis, Harlen and Travis are like any typical big brother and will stop at nothing to protect those they love. Zack was a good guy with a big heart and the love for Laurel just jumped off the pages. I did however find while Laurel was broken she just wasn't willing to admit the most obvious throughout the book. I loved all the fun characters, Tobi, Savannah and Edith as well as the kids. This book did have strong language and adult situations. I would give this book a 3.5 stars because in the end I was left with a ton of questions, and I felt that the end was rushed. I wish there was more played out since what took place towards then seemed big yet seemed to brush over quickly.  I loved the story overall it was a sweet love story and a fun read.

Take a Chance Shelley Shepard Gray- Bridgeport Social Club Series #1

Description:

Kurt Holland wants the best for his younger brother, which is why he moves Sam to Bridgeport, Ohio. It's a bigger town with a well-known high school. Just the place to give his little brother more opportunities-maybe even a scholarship to college. Kurt hopes his gamble pays off, since Sam's future isn't the only thing riding on it. Kurt's put most of his savings into a new landscaping business there, too. But when Sam gets in trouble for fighting at school, Kurt isn't so sure it was the right decision ... until he meets Sam's English teacher.

Emily Springer is passionate about helping all of her students succeed, but there's something about Sam Holland that makes her want to go the extra mile. When he's caught in a fight at school, she goes to bat in his defense, and during a conference with the principal she meets Sam's rugged older brother-and guardian. Emily has a strict no-dating policy when it comes to her students' parents, but Kurt isn't technically Sam's parent. It's OK to bend the rules a little bit, right?

In an effort to make some friends and find a place in the Bridgeport community, Kurt starts up a weekly poker game in his garage. It's not long before everyone wants in, and they all soon discover that these Friday night poker gatherings are about more than just the game.

Shelley Shepard Gray's new Bridgeport Social Club series is about men who need a place to call home, a community in need of hope, and a group of women who are special enough to help both things happen. This first installment is genuine and heartfelt. It's filled with hope, warmth, and the belief that love and acceptance can overcome any tough situation.

My thoughts on the book:
Kurt and Sam are new to Bridgeport the idea is too keep there heads down and get Sam into the best college. Emily is leery of almost all men she's had her taste of bad relationship. She sees the potential in Sam to do great things, but can she help Sam and keep her whits about her.

I will start off saying I thought this book was just like Shelley's other books and that its was a christian book and I will say that is not the case.  This book does have some curse words as well as some sexual induendos though out the book. Now that being said this book was a very sweet read I really enjoyed the fun characters and how they just seemed to be flawed and broken but will stop at nothing to better their own lives and well as those lives around them. I really enjoyed how Sam and Kay played a big part in this book along with Kurt and Sam. I think in the end I was left wanting more wondering what was next for all of the characters, I understand this is a series so I hope they will appear in the other book. Over all I would recommend this book for anyone over 13. It was a sweet story and well worth the read.

In Too Deep Dani Collins- Blue Spruce Lodge #3

Description:
At her wit’s end with her twelve-year-old niece, Wren Snow takes the manager’s job at Blue Spruce Lodge so Sky can get to know her father, Trigg Johanssen—a tycoon snowboarder with a playboy reputation.

Gold-medalist Trigg Johanssen is furious she kept Sky a secret but quits competition to focus on his newly discovered daughter only to have his chemistry with Wren complicate their attempts to co-parent.

When outside forces threaten the ski resort he’s rebuilding, a marriage of convenience seems like the answer. It would give his daughter the life she deserves but is it too much for a heartbroken woman still nursing past hurts?

My thoughts on the book:

Wren can’t take it anymore her nieces needs her dad and she is ready to finally make them happen. Can she do whats best for both of them or will introducing them be a mistake from all sides? Trigg can’t believe the past is finally catching up with him. When he finds out he has a daughter he has no choice but to take it in stride even though everyone thinks he can’t be tamed he’s willing to try and put her first. Can he get to know his daughter or will it just be too much time lost between them?

I really enjoyed this book, I am not sure if this the final book in the series but I will be honest I hope not I have really enjoyed this group of “friends”. I love coming and reading about Haven Montana and the fun characters and what they have been up too. I loved how the author included Sky in a big way in this book so it wasn’t just about Wren and Trigg’s story but you got to read about how Skylar was effected and her thoughts which I think added a whole different element to the story overall. I really loved how we got to catch up with Rolf, Glory, Nate, and Ilke. I can’t really think of anything I didn’t like this book just seemed to flow which made it really hard to put down. This book does have adult language and situations, but if that does not bother you grab this book and this series it's so good you can’t go wrong. Like I said I can’t wait for more.

Second Chance At Two Love Lane Kieran Kramer - Two Love Lane #3

Description:

Sometimes love is waiting in the second act...

In her professional career, Ella Mancini plays matchmaker at Two Love Lane but, in her personal life, she takes the stage at the Dock Street Theatre. Now she has a chance at a new role in a Hollywood movie that happens to be filming in Charleston—one that features a big-name actress, Samantha Drake. Long ago, Ella passed up a major audition while awaiting a marriage proposal. Not only didn’t she get the role; she never got the ring, either. Instead, her boyfriend Hank went on to become a huge film star…leaving her, and all her dreams, behind.

But now Hank’s back in Charleston, cast as the male lead in the same movie Ella’s in. In spite of the dramatic tension off-screen, he and Ella try to stay cool onset. But when their old feelings start to heat up—at the same time leading-lady Samantha tries to play cupid—all bets are off. How can Hank convince Ella, after all this time, that she’s the one he really wants to be with in real life—and that some happy, rom-com endings really can come true?

My thoughts on the book:

Ella loves her life and what she does, but she always wonders what if. Hank gets an opportunity to go to Charleston his heart tells him, yes but his brain tells him no. Can they be in the same area and get along for a week or will the pain from the past just be too much?
It was nice to catch up with the ladies at Two Love Lane and boy do I just love Ms. Thing. I really enjoyed Pammy she was hands down one of my favorite in this book, she just said whatever came to her mind and didn't have a problem with it either. I also really enjoyed the Nonna's they are so fun. I felt the chemistry was off with Hank and Ella and it seemed forced, and then other times it felt more like a strong unbreakable friendship.  I did enjoy the story but overall it just seemed like something was missing.  This book does contain adult situations. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
