Take Me Away, Cowboy Kristine Lynn

Description:

Saving lives is a heady experience, but what happens next after someone saves yours?

Paige Connors is certain of two facts: she loves her job as a traveling pediatrician and she will never, never end up in her small hometown of Banberry, Idaho. Why would she, when a whole world exists for her to explore? Then a strikingly handsome former Marine moves in next to Paige’s family, and suddenly, she’s rethinking her life’s choices.

Owen Johnson isn’t sure why he decided to settle down in the quaint, rural town of Banberry after a kinetic career in the military almost cost him his life. But as he spends more and more time flirting with his sexy neighbor, it becomes clear that the why and how aren’t as important as his need to be with her.

That is, until a freak accident irrevocably changes their lives. Will these lovers be able to put aside their fears and find healing in each other, or is it too late to set down roots?

My Review:
This is a new to me author. I will say I really liked the story over all it flowed really well and keeps you drawn in the whole time. I loved Owen he had this fun spirit about him. He face some tough situations in his life but he took life by the balls and ran with it head on. He was over all a fun character. Paige kind of drove me crazy. I think that back in forth of I like you, I don't like you, felt very high schoolish, instead of someone who was a grown woman. I loved the relationship between Paige and her brother they were so fun and the sibling rivalry. There is adult situations and strong language in the book so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this was a fun read with some fun characters and worth the read.

A Cowboy for Keeps Laura Drake

Description:

From a "fabulous new voice in romantic fiction" (NYT bestselling author Lael Miller): an arrogant cowboy meets a headstrong woman determined to take custody of his niece, only to realize that she may be the family he was always searching for.

There's not much that could rattle a cowboy like Reese St. James. But when his twin brother dies in a car accident, Reese is stunned to discover he has a six-month old niece, Sawyer. Wanting to make up for lost time, Reese heads down to Unforgiven, New Mexico, to bring her home. He doesn't plan on Sawyer's guardian giving him any trouble, but the intriguing, independent woman is turning out to be more than he bargained for.

Lorelei West had given up hope of having a family of her own until her sister's tragic death brought little Sawyer into her life. And now there's no way she's going to let Reese take her away. Lorelei knows hotshot, good-looking cowboys like him -- she's dated enough of them -- and she intends to stand her ground. Yet the more time Reese and Lorelei spend together, the harder it is to deny the attraction building between them. But opening their hearts to a baby is one thing -- can they also open their hearts to the possibility of a happily-ever-after?

My thoughts on the book:

Let me start off that in the end this book really turned out way better then I expected and I end up liking it in the end for sure. Now that being said this book is told in a first person point of view. The author did include both characters so that was a plus that most authors who write FPV don't do. I however felt that in the beginning of the book both Reese and Lorelei came off as very whinny which at first came as a turn off, but hang in there it gets better. The storyline was really good and I did feel it go to the heart for sure. There is adult situations in this book so it may not be suitable for all. I did read the first books two of this series so it was nice catching up with Austin, Carly, Nevada and Fish, I still have to say Nevada is one of my favorite characters thus far in this series but in this book Carly took a very close second, they both are friends every girl needs in there life someone who will always have your back no matter what. Yall over all I would totally re-read this book it was worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

He can't imagine spending another season without Emma by his side. Can he convince her to give their love a second chance before the summer draws to a close?

Includes the bonus novella A Fairytale Bride!

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoy this author so I was excited to get this book and sit down and read it.  I really feel like this book was about healing and forgiveness and finding your true self. I really liked Emma she wanted to have it all together but she still wanted to please people as well so she really was looking to find herself. She really had her heart broken in the past and turning 30 has her really thinking and making hard decisions. Jack was easy to fall in love with. I liked how the author didn't try and make the characters perfect. I liked reading again about Dawanda and her cappuccino readings you truly never know what's going to come out of her mouth next. There were so many fun sub characters that I want to know more about and read their stories. I love how the story draws you in and keeps you going to the end. There is adult talk but over all this book was totally worth the read and you can't go wrong.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Her Second Chance Cowboy Makenna Lee

After his mother died in childbirth, and witnessing his father’s destruction at the loss of true love, James sticks to casual affairs. Marriage and children are risks he won’t take.

When she runs into an old flame, she decides she can live out a fantasy, then leave town to pursue her dreams.

But love doesn’t play by the rules...

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new author for me. When I first start this book I will say I was not thrilled. I felt like every book I seem to be reading, however I hung in there and that changed for me really quick and I really start to enjoy it and be drawn into the story. I really like Reese she's got a good head on her should she speaks her mind but she leads with her big heart on her sleeve. I liked James I felt like he had some growing up to do but he needs the right person in his life to help direct him in that path. The two together were just seemed natural relationship didn't seem forced. I adored James' grandparents they just seem to be what grandparents are made of. They really added a huge element to the story but played such a small part if that makes sense. I so want to read more about Finn from the get go I felt like I need to know more of his story. This book does have adult situations and language. Overall I would totally re-read this book again it was just that good. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Description:

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. First thing on the to-do list: Get a job. Second thing: Just say no to men. Third thing: Don’t fall for the boss. One out of three’s not too bad, right?

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I didn't read the first book in the series and I have never read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I first started this book it seemed like so many other relationships of convince, however I liked all the characters they were fun and Family was first no matter what they faced. I loved Betsy she is a pistol and oh my I can't wait to read her story. I loved Whitney why she has a broken spirit from her divorce she was a fighter and willing to take on whatever was thrown at her. This book over all was a fun read it did have sex indicated but not in-depth. I can't wait to read more from this author and see what these fun characters are up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Starfish Pier Irene Hannon- Hope Harbor #6

Description:
A year ago, ex-Delta Force operator Steven Roark left the rigors of combat behind to run fishing charters in Hope Harbor, decompress, and talk some sense into his kid brother. Business is good--but making peace with his past is more challenging than he expected.

First-grade teacher Holly Miller leads a quiet, low-profile existence--until she's recruited to advocate for a cause that's dear to her heart. When she solicits Steven's assistance, sparks fly--especially after they find themselves on opposite sides of an issue that disrupts their placid seaside community.

As these two seemingly incompatible souls search for common ground, might they discover a deeper connection--and find that love can banish darkness and light the way to a future filled with promise?

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites you back to Hope Harbor--where hearts heal . . . and love blooms.

My thoughts on the book:

I would say this book does discuss some very tough issues. The author had a way of getting to the heart of the matter that's for sure. I did feel like the book dragged some. I like Steven why he faced his own demons he had a big heart of wanting to help those around him. As in all Hope Harbor book Charley, Gladys and Floyd make appearances through out and I always love them they have a way of  adding a good laugh to the story, but Charley has away of knowing just what to say when it needs to be said and giving the guidance and wisdom. I had mix feeling on Holly but in the end she grew on me. Over all this is a good clean read and may be suitable to all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Cowboy for Hire Victoria James - Wishing River #2

Description:

When a shy woman inherits a ranch, she’ll have to find an inner strength to succeed—and open herself up to love—in this heartwarming novel from New York Times bestselling author Victoria James.

Sarah Turner has led a very sheltered life. So when her parents pass away tragically, suddenly she’s left in charge of the family ranch with little know-how but plenty of will to keep it afloat. Determined not to lose her parents’ legacy or her newfound independence, she needs a hero fast—not to save her, but to show her how to save herself. But she’s unprepared for the ruggedly handsome cowboy who answers her ad.

“Cowboy for Hire,” the ad said, and Cade Walker is quick to respond. Betrayed as ranch manager by his former boss, he’s looking for a new place to put down roots—without the pressure to prove himself again. Except when he meets his new boss, it’s clear he’s not only there to run a ranch but to also teach Miss Independent how to run it. But as they struggle to make the ranch flourish, they’ll both need courage if they hope to find a family...together.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this story it was super cute, emotional and a fun read. I liked Sarah my heart broke for her and everything she faced, but she was a fighter and nothing was going to hold her back from getting what she wants. Oh my goodness Cade I think I have a dislike/love relationship with him in this story. Sometimes I wanted to smack him and then sometimes my heart broke for him, I think in this story you will find two heroes not just one. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the book they are all a fun group of friends and the author made you feel like you were right there hanging out. I can't wait to see what adventure the author takes Dean and Hope one, or at least that's what I hope the author is going for next. :-). Can't Hurry Love Melinda Curtis- Sunshine Valley #1

Description:

Head-over-heels in love, Lola Williams gave up everything to marry Randy, including a promising career in New York City. Soon enough, Lola is upending Drew's peaceful, predictable world...and he kind of likes it! But will this big-city girl ever give her heart to a small-town guy again?

My thoughts on the book:

I am excited this is a series, I say that because the town of Sunshine it full of some really fun characters and I can't wait to see where the author goes next.  My two favorite characters would have to be Lola and Becky, Becky was a pistol she was so cute, sometimes you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. I like Lola because no matter what she was a fighter and super independent she also had a vulnerability to her that made her feel like she could be your best friend, which made it feel like you were catching up instead of reading about fictional characters. I liked the judge too and his punishments oh my if we all had a judge like this in our towns. I wish that one thing that happened towards the end would have happened a little sooner, but I understand the book had to play out the way it did for a reason. Overall this book was fun read and it was a good clean read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

The Anti-Honeymoon Bethany Michaels

Description:

No groom? No Problem.

When her fiancĂ© tries to turn their wedding into a publicity stunt, Jenna ditches the nuptials—and the groom she shouldn’t have been with in the first place—and skips straight to the honeymoon. The getaway driver, her ex-fiancĂ©’s former business partner, Zach, is the perfect guy to help reshape her romantic newlywed itinerary into an anti-couple, anti-romance, anti-honeymoon adventure for two.

They trade couples yoga for kickboxing lessons. Five-star dining on the beach for pizza and beer at a dive bar. Forget couples massage—Jenna’s getting that tattoo she’s always wanted, and dares Zach to get one, too. And those naughty boudoir pics she took in place of romantic sunset snaps? Those aren’t going in anyone’s wedding album. Not that Zach will forget them anytime soon.

As each item on Jenna’s anti-couples list is checked off, the anti-honeymoon with Zach feels more and more like the real thing, and she wishes the list was just a little bit longer...and even steamier.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was very predictable but so worth the read. The book was a fun and quick read. Jenna is more of a laid back take life as it comes and Zach is a type A personality everything has to be planned out, in this book everything is tossed in the air and nothing goes as planned for either. I really like Marcy she had a small part in the book was she was mighty. I would love to read her story next and see what trouble she gets into. This book has curse words and sex so may not be suitable for all. Over all this book was quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Collision of Lies Tom Threadgill

Description:
Threadgill plunges a detective from the San Antonio Property Crimes Division into a deep-laid plot involving murder, kidnapping, and myriad other crimes above her pay grade."--Kirkus Reviews

Three years ago, a collision between a fast-moving freight train and a school bus full of kids led to devastation and grief on an unimaginable scale. But a fresh clue leads San Antonio police detective Amara Alvarez to the unlikely conclusion that one of the children may still be alive. If she's correct, everything law enforcement believes about the accident is a lie.

With time running out, Amara must convince others--and herself--that despite all evidence to the contrary, the boy lives. And she will do everything in her power to bring him home.

A fresh voice in suspense, Tom Threadgill will have you questioning everything as you fly through the pages of this enthralling story.
My thoughts on the book:

I have never read anything by this author so I didn't know what to expect. I will start off by saying over all the story was good, there is no romance in this book at all the author hints at it throughout but I just was not ever part of the storyline as a whole ever. I did however felt like the book was wordy and some things I could have gone without. I will say the story will keep you guessing and leave you wondering who else is involved. This author does keep this story a clean read so it would be suitable for all. There are some tough issues that may not be ok with some but over all a very suspenseful book. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

My thoughts on the book:

I could not put this book down. The author has away of making you feel like your catching up with friends and not reading a fiction story. I just loved the characters in this book. I loved Andrew and that he made another appearance in this story, he’s a good kid put into a rough situation but takes it in stride. I like how he seem to have a good head on his shoulders I loved Kyra and Matt they both have insecurities but they continued be strong and fight through whatever they face. I loved also being able to catch up with Baby Stenson. Y’all this book was truly a fun read and I can’t wait for more. This book does have the indication of sex and some adult language but overall not bad at all so worth the read.

Description:

But he fulfills the promise he made when their twins were born seven years earlier: to raise Abby and Isaac should tragedy strike. Still, coping with the children’s grief as well as his own, requires extra support. Micah takes them to a counselor who recommends animal therapy. He’s surprised to find an Amish farm that offers just that . . .

Hope Graber had to find a way to save the family farm after her daed’s health forced him to stop breeding horses. Providing animal therapy proved to be the answer—thanks to the help of expert trainer Logan Russell. Together, they not only pay the bills, they make positive changes in children’s lives. Hope loves working with each child, but she takes a special interest in the Miller twins. She even makes Micah smile again—and he does the same for her. In fact, as Micah emerges from his depression, he longs to make them one happy family. But will Hope’s debt to her Englisch trainer, and their close partnership, stand in the way?

My thoughts on the book:

What a sweet story. The story is about finding forgiveness in the broken. I loved Chloe what a spirited child total spit fire for sure she added a huge element to the story in my opinion. At first I was not a fan of Logan I wanted to punch him but he does grow on you a little. Hope was a fighter no matter what she faced she was fighting it head on with the grace and faith of God. This author had a way of getting to your heart and really sucking you into the story to see what will happen next. Nothing seemed to be off limits in this story which made the characters very relatable. This story is a good clean read and suitable for all.

“A brilliant writer you’ll love creates a world you’ll never want to leave.”—Susan Mallery, New York Times bestselling author

My thoughts on the book:

I like this author she has a way of sucking you into a story and always has fun a quirky characters. I am so glad the Blessing cousins are back in this story you never know what will come out of their mouths and what they are going to be up to next. I really liked Tucker he was a Cowboy through and through, He was a perfect hero for this story nothing anyone could say or do could change who he is as a person. Gillian was a broken soul who needed the perfect person to come and help her heal but her family and friends always had her back. I loved the friendship between the girls they always have each others backs. This book does discuss sex and has some language so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall I really enjoyed this book it was a super fun read.

Their Wander Canyon Wish Allie Pleiter

Description:

Can two little girls find their mom a match?

Their mother needs a fresh start…Could he be what they’ve been waiting for?

Back in her hometown with her twin daughters, widow Marilyn Sofitel is set on never falling in love again. She’s sure her heart is safe spending time with Wyatt Walker as he works to fix the carousel her girls love. Everyone knows he’s handsome, charming…and trouble. But as they grow closer, might their unlikely friendship to develop into something deeper?

My thoughts on the book:

What a fun read I love when a story involves kids I feel like they always add a huge element to a story. I think the one thing I felt was left hanging was something that played out through the story with out giving anything away it felt like you were left with some questions in the end. I am not sure if this is going to be a series and eventually it will all play out or if you are just left to figure it out on our own. I did like Mari and Wyatt, they both had troubles and struggle they need to face but it wasn't something they need others to face it with but they needed to conquer on their own. I was not a fan of Marilyn's mom, I hope there is more to come I would love to find out what happens next. Over all this book was a good clean read and suitable for all ages.

The Melody in my Head Nikki Lynn Barrett

Description:
This is Book 2 in the Love and Music in Texas series. Baby Stetson kicks off the series.

Welcome back to Harmony's Echo, Texas.....

Melody Roland is on the run from the one person she trusted completely. One who hid a dark past she could never have imagined. When a pregnant woman on the bus she's fleeing on goes into labor, Melody rushes to her aide. Now she finds herself stranded in a tiny remote town just off the highway, with no way to her original destination.

She's alone, on edge, and unsure who to trust. Her instincts scream to get far away and fast. But how and where?

Jameson Grant struggles through the roughest year of his life. Suffering from the loss of his father, one grief stricken night, he made a mistake. One which cost him the only woman he's ever loved. Each lonely day he's faced with the constant reminders of how quick things can change. Throwing himself into the one thing he has left, his music, helps dull the pain he fights to keep hidden. His last salvation begins to crumble as things spiral out of control and he has no choice but to face the 'music' of his past.

The last thing he needs or wants in his life is a woman with more trouble on her heels than the best of country music lyrics. But Melody sings a sirens call within him that can't be ignored.

Jameson and Melody bond in ways stronger than either could have imagined, but one dangerous person from her past may threaten it all...

If she doesn't flee before he can convince her to stay, and that some love songs last an eternity.

My thoughts on the book:

What a fun story as a follow up to book one. I loved that you get to catch up with Avery and Lucas and what they have been up too. I like Melody she was a fighter and super independent but the relationship she has with her dad and brother speaks volume, I love how the author makes her feel come off as a "queen" but not someone who is stuck up. I liked Jameson he had a lot of demons he needed to fight in order to face his life and one of those was figuring out how to help his mom. The emotions in tis story just seem to jump off the page and I truly felt like I was catching up with friends and not reading a book. There is cursing and adult situations in this book. The book was so fun and hard to put down you can't go wrong with it.

Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher Melinda Curtis- The Mountain Monroes #4

Description:

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

If there’s a way to her heart…

…he’ll jump at the chance!

CEO Shane Monroe sticks out like a sore thumb in Second Chance, Idaho, where he’s investigating his grandfather’s connection to the town’s folklore of stolen treasure. Feisty local Franny Clark ridicules his city-slicker ways but allows Shane to hunt for gold on her land…if he can help save her rodeo ranch. Shane is captivated by Franny’s go-getting attitude, but what will it take for him to win her over?

My thoughts on the book:

I really have enjoyed reading about the Monroe Family they are a fun bunch learning to live and grow with the new circumstances they have been handed. I have to say I was not much a fan of this couple. I loved the Clark children and Gertie they were so fun to read about. I loved Davey and how not matter what he "took the bull by the horns" and ran with it, he was a fighter and it was hard not to love him and his independent spirit. If you have been following the Monroe Family this book will catch you up on the comings and goings and is well worth the read. I also have to say I really liked reading about Bo and Jonah I can't wait to read more of their stories and see what kind of trouble those to cause. This book is a clean read and so good. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Born to Be a Cowboy R. C. Ryan - Montana Strong #3

Description:

This New York Times bestselling author delivers a "page-turning romance" (Nora Roberts) about a woman in jeopardy who finds protection--and love--in the arms of a small-town cowboy.
After running wild in his youth, Finn Monroe is now on the other side of the law as the local attorney. Between his practice and working at his family's ranch, his days aren't as exciting as they used to be--until Jessica Blair steps into his office. Gorgeous and determined, Jessie has a hunch her aunt is in trouble, and Finn is her last hope. As someone who relies on facts rather than feelings, Finn is skeptical. But it can't hurt to do a little digging.
Jessie knows her aunt, and there is no way she would disappear on an "extended honeymoon" after hastily marrying a smooth-talking cowboy. Something is wrong, and Jessie is going to find out what. As soon as she and Finn start poking around, it becomes clear someone is willing to go to great lengths to keep them from the truth. But as the danger grows, so does their attraction. With both their lives on the line, Finn will discover just how far he'll go to keep Jessie safe.

My thoughts on the book:

What away to end a series, but with a bang. The author did an amazing job and keeping you in the edge of your seat the whole book. I have really enjoyed every book in this series and this book didn’t disappoint. I love how the author took a group of “misfits” and made them family and made them the most important to each other no matter what. I really like Jessie and how she fit with the group but also that she was strong independent and wouldn’t take nothing from no one and no one was going to stand in her way of protecting her aunt. I was not a fan of Chief Tyler I so wanted to reach in the book and strangle him...ugh. There is one sex scene in this book. Overall this book was amazing and hard to put down, I really wish there was more to come, your seriously can’t go wrong with this book or this series.

She’s ready to move on, and as she deals with the stresses of a holiday season and a broken arm, she realizes Ethan is always the one she’s leaned on.

Ethan’s determined to resist Pen and her girls. He’s got too many secrets and scars to be any good for them, but as a Christmas in Last Stand works its magic, Ethan begins to find out just how tenacious Pen is and how lonely his heart has been.

My thoughts on the book:

I really like this book I read the first in the series and the author has away of getting you right in the heart. I really love how the author take a group of really imperfect people and doesn't try and change them but tries to heal them. I also enjoyed in this story how the author had the 3 girls personality really shine off the pages they were just as equally fun to read about. My heart broke for Addie she was so small but dealt with some very adult emotions. I could not put this book down I really wanted to see how the story was playing out. There is one sex scene not completely in detail but you get the point. Over all this book is a super fun read and so will sum up what Christmas and family is really about, so worth the read.

But when a real estate developer sets his sights on the Elliott land, Lucky will have to decide if the money means security for his family, or if he'll fight for Sleigh Bell with Rachel by his side.

My thoughts on the book:

What there perfect book to put you into the Christmas spirit. It has a noisy family and small town ready to help neighbors and hot cowboy and cowgirl I mean what more does it need. This book really was a fun read, the author has you laughing and crying all at once. I enjoyed coming back and reading about Marrietta. This book does have sex in it but it does not have any foul language. I really enjoyed how not matter what Patrick and Lucky were close like brothers and they seemed like two peas in a pod. I lived Rachel and Cloe for the same they were like sister and always willing to do anything for each other. OH and I loved Bill I think we all have a Bill in our lives for sure. If you are looking for a fun book this one will not disappoint.

The Bake Shop Amy Clipston

Description:

Return to Lancaster County with the first installment of Amy Clipston's charming new Amish Marketplace series.

Christiana Kurtz loves to bake, but when her bake stand becomes too busy, her mother encourages her to move her business to the local market. Her new bake shop becomes so inundated with customers that the line blocks the leather and woodcraft shop next door, which is run by Jeffrey Stoltzfus. When Jeffrey complains that her stand is driving away business due to the lines, she complains to him that his personalization machine smells. Though their relationship starts off on bad footing, they eventually forge a friendship.

When Christiana’s father makes a surprise visit to the market, he is upset to find that Jeffrey uses the building’s electricity to personalize his items. He tells Christiana that Jeffrey is too modern for her, and she’s forbidden from dating him. Christiana is crushed, but she knows she must obey her father.

When Jeffrey’s shop catches fire one day, he puts the entire market in jeopardy—including Christiana’s bake shop. Christiana, however, can’t deny how she feels about Jeffrey despite his mistakes. Though the odds are against them, can two young people find a way to rebuild both their businesses and their relationship?

My thoughts on the book:

I have read Amy's book in the past so I was excited to get a chance to read this one. I liked Christiana and the relationship she had with her sister and her cousins they were fun to read about and the close relationship was more like a bunch of sisters instead of cousins. I also enjoyed the relationship with Jeff and Nick, Nick was that annoying little brother you just have to love no matter what. When the information comes out about Christiana's dat it broke my heart and made everything makes sense. I did feel like it was pretty predictable but over all a really fun read. This book is suitable for all ages and is a good clean read if you love amish reads or a good love story this book is totally worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
