A Cowboy's Christmas Eve R.C. Ryan #2.5 The Malloys of Montana

Description:

Silent Night, Snowy Night . . .

Colin Malloy enjoys spending Christmas with his family at the Malloy ranch. But this holiday, what he really wants to do is to get closer to the alluring Dr. Anita Cross. So when a blizzard conspires to keep her from joining the Malloy family's festivities, neither snow, sleet, nor spun-out cars will prevent Colin from reaching her side.

As the new doctor in town, Anita is wholeheartedly devoted to her patients. So when a little boy needs her on this snowy night, she doesn't hesitate to care for him and send him home in time to spend Christmas with his family. An evening with a certain sexy cowboy will have to wait-or so she thinks. When a breathless Colin Malloy shows up at her clinic, Anita finds her cold, lonely night quickly heating up. And no crisis or well-meaning relative will stop them from making this a Christmas to remember . . .

A Cowboy’s Christmas Eve, #2.5

My thoughts on the book:

Colin is coming home in time for Christmas eve, while he loves his family this Christmas eve is because of who is coming to dinner. He hopes he can catch her eye and her heart while she's there. However it seems the weather has other plans for each of them.
Anita can't stop thinking about the hot, sexy cowboy who has her attention and when she gets ready to head to his families house for dinner it seems that mother nature and emergency keep them from coming together. Will they be able to finally get to know each other and have what each of them seek, or will others have ways of making it just out of reach for them?
I was super excited for Colin's story after reading about him in both Luke and Matt's story. After reading this short novel I hope this is not the end of it for these two. The storyline was a very much in a round about way a cat and mouse game with a twist. It was super fun to read and super quick read. There was some fun twist to it as well. I just feel like there should have been more with these two. I feel like while a small portion of there story did get told its not what I expected. Unlike the other books in the series theres limited adult language in this book and there is a lot of sexual tension for sure. SO if you are following this series and you are hoping for a complete story of Colin and Anita go into this book with and open mind.

Christmas with an Angel Debbie Mason A harmony Harbor series #1.5

Description:

It's been eight long years since Michael Gallagher has laid eyes on Shay Angel, back when he was a boy from the most prominent family in town and she was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But he hadn't cared about their differences - until one bad decision landed her in jail.

That was years ago and now he's back in Harmony Harbor for the holidays. So when Shay goes missing, Michael is intent on finding her and finding out if their sizzling attraction is still there. But he's now a district attorney, and it looks like Shay is once again on the wrong side of the law.

My thoughts on the book:

Michael is back home in Harmony Harbor and its been eight years since he's seen the love of his life. With his wedding off he knows needs to make thing right with people in his life and one starts with his cousin and one starts with Shay Angel. Shay is back in town on "business" and needs to stay clear of Michael for her own reasons, but when he gets a little to close things start to go array. Will she be able to get Michael away before its to late?
WOW just WOW, when I first open this book I wasn't how short it was and since it was short how much of a story can be told. But this author did not disappoint. This book was small but packed for of a wonderful storyline. The book leaves you wanting more not in a bad way. I hope there is more to come of these two characters and this is not the end of them. I would so recommend this book its short, sweet, to the point, and packed full of action. Seriously worth the read.

When rescue looks like a whole lot of trouble . . .

The road trip was definitely a bad idea. When rescue shows up—six-feet-plus of hot, charming sex on a motorcycle—Rita's pretty certain she's gone from the frying pan right into the fire . . .

Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he's about to be sorely tempted. There's something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn't just for tonight—he's forever.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Excerpt:

“So.” He plunked his beer down on the bar. “Where were you four headed in that big, rusty Suburban before Hurley reeled you in?”
She looked pensive as her shit-stomping boots started to sway back and forth, bumping the wooden rungs of the stool. “We need to be in Coney Island by New Year’s Day. So we can jump into the Atlantic Ocean.”
“Why—what?” He dropped onto the stool beside her, his drink forgotten on the bar. “That’s pretty high on the list of things I didn’t expect.”
“Oh, I know the feeling.” A beat passed. “It was our mother’s last wish.”
“I’m sorry.”
She nodded, brushing her hair back in a jerky motion, as if she were uncomfortable having someone’s undivided attention. He’d never had cause to use the word preposterous before, but that was the only way he could describe her lack of confidence. Despite the inappropriate name, the Liquor Hole was his life’s work, and, at the moment, it was nothing more than an unworthy backdrop for Rita. And, God, he was staring at her hands like an aggressive palm reader. “Most mothers want to avoid having their children turn into floating ice sculptures. What was her reason?”
“Good question.” A hint of sadness winked in her eyes, and Jasper wished he’d let the subject drop. This was what happened when he avoided talking about sex. He stumbled right into deceased parents. And yet he wasn’t sorry. Not even a little bit. He wanted to know everything. “I think…she meant it as some sort of symbolic bonding experiment. But I don’t know. We’re kind of unbondable.”
“Got the feeling I interrupted a near-melee this afternoon.”
“Aaron called my soufflĂ© decent.” A strand of dark hair caught on her lips when she shook her head. It took one hundred percent of his impulse control not to tug it away, but she beat him to it, anyhow. “It sounds silly now.”
“Nah.” Jasper couldn’t help leaning in to get a whiff of cooking spices. “He would have had it coming just for dressing like a preacher on a weekday.”
Another one of those quiet, smoky laughs. “I guess there’s a fine line between politician and preacher.”
“Politician?” Jasper shivered, then recalled the threat Rita’s brother had leveled at his head back on the highway. “Still, I can’t help but like him for wanting you safe from a stranger. He can’t be all that bad if he worries about you.”
“Worried might be an exaggeration,” Rita said.
When her golden-brown gaze lit on his mouth, Jasper realized he’d moved into her personal space without any conscious thought. One of her knees brushed the denim covering his hip and, God help him, if the bar were empty he would’ve been between her split thighs before she could call for Jesus. For someone who hadn’t felt more than a passing appreciation for the opposite sex in years, his libido was sure trying to play catch-up tonight.
“What are you thinking about?”
Lie. He had to lie. I want to strip you down and f*ck you on this seat, but I’m trying my hand at being a gentleman, was not an acceptable line. It was too aggressive when she seemed spooked merely from his close proximity. But she was leaving, leaving his town tomorrow, and the slow-game option had been ambitious for Jasper when he knew nothing about it. So he’d tell the truth while leaving out the oh-so-dirty reality in his pants. “I was thinking it would have been a goddamn shame if you’d broken down one town over.” His voice was gravel, so he cleared it. “More than a shame. I’m kind of finding it hard to think about, if you want to know the truth.”
For long moments, he couldn’t hear a single sound in the loud bar. No music, no crunching ice or raucous laughter. And, somehow, he knew she couldn’t hear the noise, either. It was there in the perplexity of her expression. He expected her to call bullshit or make a joke, but she didn’t. She shocked him instead.
“I’ll think I’ll take that kiss now.”

O Little Town of Bethany Rene Gutteridge and Cheryl McKay

Description:

Holly left her unhappy life behind, hoping for a Christmas miracle…

Everything about Holly Truesdale’s existence is, well…forgettable. The only good memory of her childhood is their family Christmas in the quaint town of Bethany. Tired of the high society life, Holly leaves the big city, longing to recover the sense of belonging she felt in the Victorian town. She opens a scrapbooking store, ready to help others preserve the important moments she missed as a child.

Holly is drawn to Liam, the widower who runs the B&B next door, but doesn’t fully trust herself in a new relationship. As Holly and Liam grow closer, Holly becomes concerned for the town matriarch, Miss Bethany. But even as Yuletide celebrations are in full swing, Holly and Liam can’t help but notice that Miss Bethany harbors a secret. One that could change Christmas in Bethany forever…

My thoughts on the book:

Holly has always wanted something different out or her life but when she gets a wake up call from the last person she expects, she sets off to the last place she remembers being happy and loved. A place  where a secret is buried and she wants to unbury it and see where it takes her.
Ms. Bethany has her own set of secrets and is set to keep them just that but in the mean time she will make it one last Christmas worth remembering for everyone but most of all for her. But can she keep her secrets from the beloved town she loves so much?
I really enjoyed this book. This book is what Christmas is all about it has its trials and frustrations, but it shows family is what you make of it and the value of Christmas is not about what is given but what is done unto others. I loved how each character seemed to face a trial no matter how small but each one valued and cared for in a town of broken and loved people. It truly shows that even broken we can be a blessing to those around us. If you are looking for a short story then this is a book for you. This book will not let you down and is the perfect Christmas read.

Excerpt
Luke lifted a hand to the corn silk strands dancing around her cheeks.
At once her smile fled and she jerked back. “Don’t. I told you before. I’m not Nadine.”
His eyes narrowed on her. “For the record, there’s no way I’d ever confuse you with your mother.”
“Then don’t try playing those games with me.”
“What games are we talking about?”
“You know exactly what I mean. All those sexy moves.”
“Really? Sexy?” He was grinning as he reached a hand to her hair. “Like this?”
Her chin came up. “If you want lots of hair, reach for Nadine’s.”
“Is that why you chopped yours off?” He allowed a silken strand to sift through his fingers. “To prove a point?”
“Well, aren’t you the brilliant observer. For the record, there are a lot of things Nadine does that I refuse to do. I don’t bother with makeup. And—”
“—and you try to hide your gorgeous body under this bulky shirt.” He fingered the rough collar. His smile was quick and charming. “I’ll let you in on a secret. It’s not working.”
She slapped his hand away. “Stop trying to be clever. I know what I am. I’m a rancher who’s struggling to stay on the land I love. A big sister working overtime to raise Lily to be the best she can.”
“You forgot the most important thing. You’re a woman.” His voice lowered to a near growl. “Maybe you’d like to forget that, but it’s impossible for me to overlook the fact that you’re not just a woman, but a gorgeous, amazing, very independent woman.”
She actually gasped as he leaned close.
“Just so you know, I’m going to kiss you, Ingrid.” His arms came around her and he gathered her close.
He’d known her lips would be soft and inviting. Had known it from the first time he’d looked at them. But he wasn’t prepared for the taste of her. Sweet, yet tart. So strong, and yet he could feel the way her breath hitched, alerting him to her unease.
All woman, and yet fighting it. She kept her hands at her sides, refusing to give him any encouragement.
“I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do. So don’t be afraid.” He spoke the words inside her mouth.
“I’m not—”
“Just for a moment, Ingrid, let yourself enjoy something.”
She responded with a soft purr in the back of her throat. For the space of a heartbeat he could feel her relax in his arms as she gave herself up to the moment.
A burst of heat shot through Luke’s veins. His heartbeat was thundering, keeping time with hers. He changed the angle of the kiss and took it deeper, until he could actually feel the fire.
The ground tilted beneath his feet, and he knew he was losing control. He hadn’t meant to take it this far. None of this had been planned. He’d merely wanted to kiss her and tease her a little. But now, too late, he realized that one taste of these lips would never be enough.

Luke R. C. Ryan The Malloys of Montana

Description:

Wild at Heart. . .
Wild. Reckless. Stubborn. That's Luke Malloy in a nutshell. The solitary life of a rancher and the untamed Montana wilderness make him feel alive-and nothing will ever change that. Not even being thrown from his horse and forced to accept a stranger's help. The fact that this stranger is a beautiful blonde with a passion for ranching that rivals his own doesn't hurt. But there's a secret she's hiding, and Luke won't rest until he uncovers it...
Ingrid Larsen doesn't need anyone's help. Not with managing her family's ranch. Not with raising her little sister. And certainly not with the mysterious incidents occurring on her property. When this too-sexy-for-his-own-good cowboy needs a place to recover, she hopes he'll be in and out in no time flat. But just as she's beginning to trust Luke's promise of protection, Ingrid's secret threatens to tear them apart.

My thoughts on the book:

Luke has always lived life on the wild side, but he also will stop any thing and help those who need it. When he just so happens to land in the life of two sisters he knows his help is needed even though one of them is to stubborn to ask. He will stop at nothing to help them and make sure they are safe, but she is hiding some secrets and he knows he needs to know that first in order to truly help them.
Ingrid has a lot on her plate and she will stop at nothing to protect those she loves, even if it's against someone she loves. When it seems like someone has it out to take over her ranch and do everything in the process to stop her she knows one thing she will protect her sister first and foremost. But when Luke falls into her life she starts to question whats next for the sisters and whats next for the ranch.

I read the first book in this series and feel in love with the Mallory's, so I was super excited to read another in this series and the book did not disappoint. I love the sweet spirit of this family, the values they portray and how they are always will to bring anyone into their fold and help those who need it. I really enjoyed how in this book as well as the first that there is an element of suspense to it and it keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat just to see what happens next. I like how each book has an ending and it doesn't end in a cliff hanger to be picked up the next book. I really hope there is more to come from Colin I so hope he finds his happy ever after and I can not wait to read more from this family. It feels like you are just catching up with friends. This book does have adult content in it so it may not be suitable for all readers. This book is worth the read and is worth every minute of it.

Now even the best defensive skills might not keep him from losing his heart . . .

***

The Colorado Ice series
Maybe This Kiss
Maybe This Time
Maybe This Love
Maybe This Summer
Maybe This Christmas

My thoughts on the book:

Abigail is home with her daughter and she's holding her head high even though she would rather not have all this attention on her just because of her divorce. She needs a job, and a home for her daughter and she needs to get her soon to be ex-husband to just sign the divorce papers. Jackson has had a crush on Abby since they were in the 2nd grade and now that she's home he needs to continue to keep the distance from her since you can't break the "guy code" and go for your best friends wife. Will he see beyond the BS and start to truly see whats happening or will it be to late for them?
This was another fun story by Jennifer. I really enjoy these fun characters, I loved catching up with them. There were some parts of the story that seemed to drag, however the story as a whole was enjoyable and I found myself having a hard time putting the book down. This book is not for everyone there are some adult scenes and talk through out the book. The storyline was easy to follow and there was sexual tension throughout the whole story. The love hate relationship between Abby and Jackson along with the banter back in forth was super fun. I can't say I was much of a fan of Abby's young daughter she was a bit annoying however it was fun catching up with Becky, Neil and Taylor. I can't wait to read more from this group of family and friends. If you are looking for a super fun read this book will not disappoint

Home on the Range Ruth Logan Herne Book #2 Double S Ranch Series

Description:

Can the brother left behind and a woman without hope work together for the good of two precious children?
Nick Stafford stayed in central Washington, working his family’s large ranch after his brothers left to pursue other passions—but his toughest job is being a single dad. As a child he watched his father fail at marriage and parenting, so Nick was determined to show him up. He’d be a better husband, father, and ranch manager than Sam Stafford ever was. Despite that commitment, three years after Nick’s wife left him, he has a daughter in trouble at school and both of his girls are facing issues that force him to rethink his stubborn plans.
For Dr. Elsa Andreas, life fell apart when tragedy caused her to abandon her family therapy practice and retreat to the backwoods of Gray’s Glen. Her school principal sister believes Elsa can guide the Stafford girls and that working with kids will draw Elsa out of her protective bubble.
Summer on the Double S teems with life and adventure. Amid the bounty of God and land, will Nick and Elsa find the courage to build futures based on faith rather than fear?

My thoughts on the book:

Nick has done everything right in his life, or at least has tried. He's at a point in his life now that he needs to do whats right for his girls, even with the world around him seems to be falling apart. When his family pushes him to take his girls to a therapist he is non to happy but he knows he needs to do right by them. Will he be able to convince Elsa this is whats best for his family and get her to help?
Elsa is facing some demons from the past and she is not happy that her sister keeps pushing for her to  things that are just out of her comfort zone. Will she be able to face the past and find a future that she always wanted?
I really, really loved this book. I felt like I was catching up with friends not reading a book. I really loved how the characters felt like the situations were very much real and could happen in life and not just fiction. The storyline is well written and gets to the heart of the matter. I loved how life is not perfect, and the author didn't try to make it that, no matter how much you try and protect the children its not always that way and that came across in this book. This book will not disappoint and is the perfect read and reminds you that at the end of the day Family is whats most important. This book will not disappoint and you can't go wrong, totally worth the read.
