My Kind of Cowboy R. C. Ryan- Wranglers of Wyoming #1

Description:

his New York Times bestselling author delivers a "page-turning romance" (Nora Roberts) about a city girl on the run and the strong, protective cowboy who keeps her safe.

Brand Merrick is a take-charge cowboy who considers relax a four-letter word. So when an injury lands him six weeks of physical therapy, he intends to keep right on working-until his grandmother hires a therapist to stay at their family ranch. He's not used to following orders, or slowing down, but Avery Grant has a way of getting him to do things he'd never thought he'd do . . .

Avery hates to admit it, but this super sexy rancher is testing her patience...and her professionalism. She's a born-and-bred city girl, yet she finds herself drawn to the rugged wilderness and the equally rugged cowboy she's here to help. But when a threat from her past follows Avery to Montana, it's Brand who rides to the rescue-if only she'll put her trust in him, and the growing feelings in her heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I feel like lately every time I get my hands on a book by this author it feels like coming home. She has a way of making you either feel like you are right there or that you are catching up with friends and it was very much that case in this book. I also had a hard time putting this book down. I wanted more so much more. I loved Liz and the brothers and hope their stories are coming soon. I also like how this author tries and keeps the books as close to a clean read. I really liked Avery to me she came off as this person while she faced a lot it didn't break who she was and she still continued on with life and what it handed her. Brand was a hard nut to crack, but he was still very likable and very much a trustworthy older son who just needed a little push. I seriously can't wait for more from these fun character and to see what will happen next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Being Known Robin Jones Gunn- Haven Maker's #2

Description:

From the bestselling author of Becoming Us comes a novel that asks: What does it mean to be truly known? In a marriage, in a friendship, or by a loving God?

After her mom passed away, Jennalyn was in the midst of moving, adjusting to life with a new baby, and helping her husband, Joel, work toward his dream job. At the time, she thought she’d processed her mother’s death, but only now that Jennalyn has two small children, a lovely new home, and a husband who is always working does she feel the full impact of what she has lost.

Even among her sweet circle of friends, the Haven Makers, grief silently overwhelms Jennalyn, until an unexpected encounter allows her to express herself in ways she hasn’t fully been able to with her husband. Even though Christy, Sierra, Emily, and Tess provide a soft place to land in times of tension, Jennalyn remains guarded, especially when Tess reveals she is tangled emotionally in a relationship that was thorny from the start.

Will the two women open up and remain honest with the others in their Haven Makers group? Or will their hesitation to truly be known, faults and all, keep them from holding on to the friendships that have been the sweetest gift during this season of life?

My thoughts on the book:

Just like Becoming Us this book is about friendship and finding hope in the Lord and those friendships. I felt like this book got really to the heart of the matter with Jennalyn, with her missing her mom and the struggles she faces. This book was told in a first person point of view and I was not a fan of that. The author keeps this book clean so that is so nice allowing suitable for age appropriate readers. I think it goes back to this author has written about Christy for years and this series seems to be the adult version and the friendships she is forming along the way. I love these group of women and their friendships. Life is not perfect and life always hands you trials and the author doesn't try and make anything perfect or sugar coat anything. If you are looking for a fun read that's a breathe of fresh air and a little different then other books out there,  this is worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Hooked On You Cathryn Fox

Description:

Hooked on You is a sweet treat read that will give you all the good feels!” - USA Today and WSJbestselling author Avery Flynn
I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice.
Until he did.
I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fisherman and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family––the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.
Until I do.
Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.
Until they aren’t.
Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book by this author for me. I did like that Sam and Jason. Sam was super fun and made me want to get to know him more. I can honestly say I don't think I have ever read a book based in Canada and it made me want to go to this small town and get to see it. This book is told in the first person, the author does list who is talking so that does help. Over all I was not a huge fan of this book I found the book completely predictable and it just really was not for me. This book also has a ton of strong language and sex throughout, so it may not suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Winning Back Her Heart Allie Pleiter

Description:

Pretending to be in love…or building a new future?

Nothing wrong with helping out an old friend…

But she’s so much more to him.

When his ex-girlfriend returns home and hires him to overhaul her family’s general store, contractor Bo Carter’s determined to keep an emotional distance. But to convince her old boss she’s home for good, Toni Redding needs another favor—a pretend romance. As Bo starts to fall for her all over again, might their fake love lead to a real second chance?

My thoughts on the book:

There was this push and pull through the whole book between the two main characters. I felt sometimes that Toni was taking advantage of Bo and then other times I felt like she just wasn’t ready to admit her feelings. The close relationship that Toni has with her dad is so sweet. I like Jake and how Him and Bo seemed more like brothers and less like friends and business partners. I think the one person even in the end I was not a fan of was Peggy, she just came off very selfish and whatever worked best for her was what needed to be done. Over all this story was a cute fun read. The author kept the story clean so I would say it’s suitable for all.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen Melinda Curtis- The Mountain Monroes' #5

Description:

She’s looking for Mr. Right…

…but can he fill those boots?

Former rodeo queen Emily Clark loves her life in Second Chance, Idaho, but she’s through waiting for a cowboy to sweep her off her feet. Just as she’s thinking of leaving town, she’s offered a job by newcomer Jonah Monroe, a city slicker from Hollywood. Career-minded Jonah isn’t looking to commit—to romance or a ranch—but Emily’s determined to show him exactly what he’s missing…

My thoughts on the book:

Both main characters are Hard headed and stubborn. I feel like because of this it really made the book. The banter and the back and forth just added to it even more. I like the kids in the story I always feel when you can let kids shine in a book it really helps capture the attention of the reader. What I also like was Moody Mike’s story was finally told and I like how the Monroe’s are back. I so hope Bo’s story is coming soon I feel like there is so much more then the little glimpses we got this book of him. I like how the author kept a the story a good clean read. This book over all was a quick and fun read and if you have been following along with this family or you’re just getting started I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I didn't read the first book in the series and I have never read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I first started this book it seemed like so many other relationships of convince, however I liked all the characters they were fun and Family was first no matter what they faced. I loved Betsy she is a pistol and oh my I can't wait to read her story. I loved Whitney why she has a broken spirit from her divorce she was a fighter and willing to take on whatever was thrown at her. This book over all was a fun read it did have sex indicated but not in-depth. I can't wait to read more from this author and see what these fun characters are up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

In Perfect Rhythm Nikki Lynn Barrett- Love and Music in Texas Book 8

Description:

One violent tragedy changes two families lives forever...

The one thing she knows is she won't allow history to repeat itself. It isn't until she sees a man carrying the Kessler name in an interview with his band that she has an idea where to find her troubled missing brother. After discovering a file showing Darnell still has a vendetta, she knows what she has to do.

Warn Marty Kessler.

One man's past haunts him as his life is being speculated about in the spotlight...
Marty Kessler found comfort in music as a young adult. Still tormented by the things he'd been involved in, he joined a band as a bass guitarist to give himself something to look forward to. Always in the background, he had a chance to prove to himself he could be a better man.

When his band finally makes the next move to pursue music, he jumps at the chance, knowing all too well his painful history would catch up with him. Rachel's appearance in his life with a dire warning brings up painful memories, but it's about time he face the past so he has a chance at a bright future. But can that future include Rachel, the youngest daughter of the family he had a hand in altering their lives?

My thoughts on the book:

Dang it, this book by far is by far one of the toughest books I have read by this author. It had me all over the place with emotions. This book was very hard to put down. I thought last book could the end nope this book and this story needed to be told for sure. Marty has the biggest heart and he just seems to need to find that special someone to let it shine and boy did his personality shine in this book. I really liked Rachel she was not who I thought at first, I thought she might be using Marty or not in it for the right reasons but she herself just has some things she needs to work through and one was connecting with Marty to find out the truth. I love this group of characters every time I get a book with them in it I feel like I could sit there for hours and do nothing but catch up with them I liked how even though there were some very tough situations and subjects going on the author also found a way to insert some laughter and fun with them to lighten the mood. I truly think this may be one of my favorite books in the series. There is sex in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. Over all if you have not read this series grab it you won't want to put it down or stop reading once you start. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

She’s finally made her peace or so she thinks until Devlin Braxton shows up at her door with a proposition.

They have a past, will Devlin’s blue eyes and pulse-stopping kisses convince her he’s changed and that they might have a future?

My thoughts on the book:

This book started off really strong I liked Dev he had this good ole' cowboy who wasn't looking for hero worship but a place to call home. I was a fan of Rissa at first but then she quickly got on my nerves. In the beginning she came off as this independent, works hard for all she has takes no prisoners kind of spirit about her, then I felt like she quickly became whiney and almost annoying. I felt like the relationship just didn't work with these two it did not feel natural but almost forced. I did like how for the most part the author did keep the book clean and I like being able to find out what was going on with the other characters in the series. Overall its an ok read not the book for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Will this summer tour opening up for a mega country star be full of extraordinary dreams coming true, or will this be a true test of strength that could push even the strongest person past their limits?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved that this book was the bands view of what was taking place while reading Skyrocket and Kyra and Matt's story. I loved this book it was so hard to put down and it was a super quick read. In the end of this book I was very torn because I feel like this book could be the end of the series right now, however I also feel like the author sucks you in and has you wanting, as saying stick around the best is yet to come. I love that this read was a good clean read and you got to catch up on so many fun characters. You really can not go wrong with this book or this series. I received a complimentary copy of this book. A marriage is tested in this Old Order Amish novel of longing for renewed love and a path for forgiveness from the best-selling author of Gathering the Threads

Will she be able to listen to God and love Roy's child? With so much at stake, how can she and Roy fix their relationship before their lives come crashing down?

My thoughts on the book:

I am the type of person who does not read the back of the book because most the times it give away a good portion of the book away, but with this book after the first two chapters I read it and was able to understand more what was happening. I was not able to put this book down it really just drew me in. My heart broke with Abi and Jemima, they are both strong women but both seem to face something that they need each other and God to get them through. I have to say I was a huge fan of Chris totally cheering him on through out the book. I will say that this book may touch a nerve with some people as it does discuss things that some christians find unfathomable, but go if you go into this story with an open heart and mind I believe wholeheartedly that the authors have something for all of us to learn from and will totally leaving you wanting more. This book is a good clean read and well worth the read.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites you back to Hope Harbor--where hearts heal . . . and love blooms.

My thoughts on the book:

I would say this book does discuss some very tough issues. The author had a way of getting to the heart of the matter that's for sure. I did feel like the book dragged some. I like Steven why he faced his own demons he had a big heart of wanting to help those around him. As in all Hope Harbor book Charley, Gladys and Floyd make appearances through out and I always love them they have a way of  adding a good laugh to the story, but Charley has away of knowing just what to say when it needs to be said and giving the guidance and wisdom. I had mix feeling on Holly but in the end she grew on me. Over all this is a good clean read and may be suitable to all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
