A Week at the Shore Barbara Delinsky

Description:

“A first-rate storyteller who creates believable, sympathetic characters who seem as familiar as your neighbors,” (The Boston Globe), Barbara Delinsky presents a captivating new novel about a woman whose unexpected reunion with her estranged family forces her to confront a devastating past in A Week at the Shore.

One phone call is all it takes to lure Mallory Aldiss back to her family’s Rhode Island beach home. It's been twenty years since she's been gone—running from the scandal that destroyed her parents' marriage, drove her and her two sisters apart, and crushed her relationship with the love of her life, Jack Sabathian. Twenty years during which she lived in New York, building her career as a photographer and raising her now teenage daughter Joy.

But that phone call makes it clear that something has brought the past forward again—something involving Mallory’s father. Compelled by concern for her family and by Joy’s wish to visit her mother’s childhood home, Mallory returns to Bay Bluff, where conflicting loyalties will be faced and painful truths revealed.

In just seven watershed days at the Rhode Island shore, she will test the bonds of friendship and family—and discover the role that love plays in defining their lives.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was not really for me. I found it hard to get into. This book is told from a first person point of view, I wish the author would have included to people telling the story at least even if she kept it FPP. They say anything could happen in an instant and I feel like that sums up this story lots of different scenarios and some twists and turns to me sometimes it was almost like the author didn’t know where to go so she through something out there and it stuck. Some of the story was good, I really liked Joy she was a pistol and was fun to read about. There is sex and adult language in this book and may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Hooked On You Cathryn Fox

Description:

Hooked on You is a sweet treat read that will give you all the good feels!” - USA Today and WSJbestselling author Avery Flynn
I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice.
Until he did.
I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fisherman and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family––the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.
Until I do.
Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.
Until they aren’t.
Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book by this author for me. I did like that Sam and Jason. Sam was super fun and made me want to get to know him more. I can honestly say I don't think I have ever read a book based in Canada and it made me want to go to this small town and get to see it. This book is told in the first person, the author does list who is talking so that does help. Over all I was not a huge fan of this book I found the book completely predictable and it just really was not for me. This book also has a ton of strong language and sex throughout, so it may not suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Her Secret Cowboy Debra Holt- Blood Brothers #3

Description:

You can’t go home again.

Devlin Braxton never thought he’d test those words and return to Braxton, Texas – the town where generations of his family had ranched honorably. Not him. As an undercover agent who spent years infiltrating the underbelly of a drug cartel with a local pipeline, everyone thought he was the devil-may-care, good-for-nothing, playboy he pretended – even his family. After the massive bust and the shoot out that nearly killed him, Devlin is ready to discover who he is and where he belongs.

Marissa Flanagan has fought for her place in Braxton. First she had to live down the pity and gossip when she was jilted by her fiance, then prove her professional worth when the town’s beloved – and male – vet retired. She’s finally made her peace or so she thinks until Devlin Braxton shows up at her door with a proposition.

They have a past, will Devlin’s blue eyes and pulse-stopping kisses convince her he’s changed and that they might have a future?

My thoughts on the book:

This book started off really strong I liked Dev he had this good ole' cowboy who wasn't looking for hero worship but a place to call home. I was a fan of Rissa at first but then she quickly got on my nerves. In the beginning she came off as this independent, works hard for all she has takes no prisoners kind of spirit about her, then I felt like she quickly became whiney and almost annoying. I felt like the relationship just didn't work with these two it did not feel natural but almost forced. I did like how for the most part the author did keep the book clean and I like being able to find out what was going on with the other characters in the series. Overall its an ok read not the book for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Cowboy Come Home Carly Bloom - Once upon a Time in Texas #2

Description:

Welcome to Big Verde, Texas, where a love-'em-and-leave-'em cowboy faces his greatest challenge yet---the woman he left behind. Perfect for fans of New York Times bestselling authors Lori Wilde and Carolyn Brown.
Some cowboys aren't cut out to be Prince Charming---and Claire Kowalski knows that better than anyone. She gave her heart to Ford Jarvis two years ago, yet that didn't keep him from disappearing into the sunset. Now that he's back in Big Verde, Texas, she's determined not to make the same mistake twice. But the ruggedly sexy cowboy still knows how to push all her buttons, and avoiding him is nearly impossible when she needs his help.

Ford didn't plan on returning home---ever---but when he hears that the Kowalski ranch is in trouble, he hightails it back to town. He's not eager to be reminded of the life he can never have, but his time in Big Verde is only temporary. He'll stay long enough to get the ranch up and running, then hit the road again. But when Ford finds out the new foreman he's training is Claire, still as stubborn and beautiful as ever, this cowboy is going to have to decide what matters most---repeating the mistakes of the past or fighting for a future with the only woman he's ever loved..

My thoughts on the book:

I wanted to like this book the story doesn't seem original it feel like I have read this story before. Also I felt the author wanted you to see Claire as this strong independent person who was a fighter, but I saw her as a whiney rich girl who wanted what she wanted and tended to whine about it through out the story. I found Ford a broken soul with no where to land. I liked Worth he was fun to read about and I wanted to know more about his story. I liked Henry, Maggie and Travis they had me laughing along with Bubba, Tessa and Jd. This book is for sure an adult read it has cursing and sex through out the book. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts on the book:

This book was not for me I felt like the book dragged a lot. I felt like the whole book was completely predictable and found it hard to just follow the over all story. The book is a clean read and would be suitable for all ages. I did like Ellie she was pistol and was fun to read about. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Once Upon a Cowboy Christmas Soraya Lane- River Ranch #3

Description:
Billionaires, cowboys, and romance collide during the holidays in this next book in the River Ranch series!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Ford family ranch. Will one cowboy’s homecoming be the greatest gift of all?

He left town and never looked back.
Cody Ford is a Wall Street honcho with humble Texas roots. This holiday season, he’d be content to just stay in New York and not face his family—and dodge their questions about when and with whom he plans to settle down. . .and if he will do so back at home. But his father isn’t getting any younger, and Cody doesn’t want to miss any last chances to see him and the rest of the folks back on the ranch. The last person Cody was expecting to see? His one-time girlfriend, Lexi Murphy, who’s been working as his dad’s new live-in nurse.

She never forgot him. Can she ever forgive him?
Lexi still holds a grudge against Cody. Back then, the college-bound heartthrob believed he was too good for a small-town girl like Lexi. But now Cody can’t help but see her in a whole new light. Could it be that this beautiful single mother with an unbeatable can-do spirit is the one he’s been waiting for all along? That depends on whether Cody can prove to Lexi that, this time, he means business—and if a sudden snowstorm can lend just the right amount of Christmas magic to help move things along. . .

My thoughts on the book:

I will start off saying I did not read any of the other books in this series so I am not sure of the background of these characters. I will say I was not a fan of this book is was so completely predictable and I found the main characters annoying and whinny. I can honestly say the few characters I did like was Mia, Harry, and Walter. Mia was this spitfire mama who stood up for all those she loved and cared for. Walter was the patriarch of the family and he's fighting cancer but he also played a huge roll in this book. This book did have some good moments in it. Also there is sex and a good fair amount of cussing in this book so this may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Trouble with Christmas Amy Andrews

Description:

All Suzanne St. Michelle wants is an over-the-top, eggnog-induced holiday with her best friend in Credence, Colorado. But when her hoity-toity parents insist she come home for Christmas in New York, she blurts out that her sexy landlord is actually her boyfriend and she can’t leave him—Joshy loves Christmas. The more twinkle lights the better.

Rancher Joshua Grady does not love Christmas. Or company, or chatty women. Unfortunately for him, the chattiest woman ever has rented the cottage on his ranch, invited her rich, art-scene parents, and now insists he play “fake rancher boyfriend” in a production of the Hokiest Christmas Ever. And somehow…she gets him to agree.

Apparently, he’ll do anything to get his quiet life back. At least there’s mistletoe every two feet—and kissing Suzy is surprisingly easy. But in the midst of acres of tinsel, far too many tacky Christmas sweaters, and a tree that can be seen from space, he’s starting to want what he lost when he was a kid—a family. Too bad it’s with a woman heading back to New York before the ball drops…

Each book in the Credence, Colorado series is STANDALONE:
* Nothing But Trouble
* The Trouble with Christmas

My thoughts on the book:

This book was not for me. That being said I had the hardest time getting into this book it just seemed to be lacking something, I really can't put my finger on it for the first 6-8 chapters. After that the book does slowly pick up and the story line is cute, but too me it just seemed like something was still missing the characters and situations seemed forced. There was so many curse words in this book you would have thought one of the main characters would have had to be a sailor or something. There is also a lot of adult language and sex so this book may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Last True Cowboy Laura Drake (Chestnut Creek Series) #1

Description:
This cowboy's got one last chance to prove himself.

Carly Beauchamp has loved cowboy Austin Davis since first grade. Ask anyone in their dusty, backwater New Mexico town of Unforgiven, and they'll say "Carly and Austin" the way some say "big trucks and country boys." But after years of waiting for a wedding ring, Carly's done with being a rodeo widow . . .

Austin never meant to put his career on the circuit before Carly. She's always been his future, his one and only. But now that she's moved on, he's beginning to see where he went wrong, and he'll do anything to win her back. The only thing is, Carly's suddenly acting differently, and she's definitely hiding a secret-one that will test the depth of their love and open up a whole new world of possibilities.

My thoughts on the book:

I feel this book is about growing up and it takes you through this journey of two immature people. I have to say I was not a fan of this book. The characters are in there late 20's and act like they are just out of high school instead. I found them annoying and whinny. I really enjoyed reading the small part about Nevada she had this story I would have liked to read more about. I think I enjoyed reading more about the other characters than the main characters. I will say that there was a small part in the back in of the book that has you by the heart for sure. There is some language and lots of talks of tough subjects but over all it was a fairly basic read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Secret Ingredient for a Happy Marriage Shirley Jump (O'Bannon Sisters #2)

Description:
THE SECRET INGREDIENT FOR A HAPPY MARRIAGE

Nora has always been the sister who binds the O'Bannons together. No matter what crisis hits, smart, dependable Nora knows how to fix it. But for Nora, the pressure of perfection is taking its toll.

Nora's marriage is in trouble, and she has been reluctant to worry her sisters with just how dire her situation is. Now though, faced with losing her husband, her home, and the life she's worked so hard to build, Nora can no longer pretend.

As the O'Bannon women rally around her, Nora begins to see that failure is nothing to fear. It's like they say in the bakery: if you want to make something good, you can't be afraid to get messy. When her husband returns, asking Nora to give their family a second chance, Nora must decide if their relationship can be saved or if it's time to throw out the old recipe and start from scratch.

My thoughts on the book:
Nora is the glue that kept her family together but when her life seems to come crashing down around her she's not sure where to turn and who to tell. So answering "I'm fine" seems like the best response when anyone asks if she's ok.  Can she get her life back together and have the life she always dreamed of or is it time to say goodbye to the past and find a different future and dream?

I was not a huge fan of this book. A good majority of the book I found self-loathing to the point it was annoying and a bit depressing. I will say what I did enjoy about this book was Iris and Roger, Iris has this spirit about her that she is a fighter just needs that extra push. Roger, he will not stop at anything to help those who need help and to help those who he truly cares about. I did like how the author held nothing back in this book it dealt with some very tough subjects and she wasn't afraid to put it out there. This book does have some strong language minimal but it is there. I really also did enjoy Magpie shes just this free spirit who grows on you its hard not to love her.

Cowboy Stole My Heart Soraya Lane- A River Ranch Novel

Description:

It takes true grit to build a billion-dollar dynasty like the Ford family ranch. But when it comes to finding love, all it takes is one handsome cowboy to steal a woman’s heart in Cowboy Stole My Heart by Soraya Lane.

SHE’S RIDING SOLOAs one of the heirs to the River Ranch fortune, Mia Ford is practically Texas royalty. But that doesn’t mean she’s some pampered princess. She can saddle up and ride a horse as well as any man, even a hard-working cowboy like Sam Mendes. For years, she’s harbored a crush on the strong, silent horseman. But how can she make a move when she’s his boss?

HE’S TAKING THE REINS Sam Mendes is through with love—or so he thought. Still recovering from a breakup, he’s doing everything in his power to resist Mia Ford. It’s bad enough she’s the kind of beauty who drives men wild with desire. It’s even worse she’s got him so worked up, aching to kiss her lips, when he’s supposed to be working her ranch. Is this lovestruck cowboy willing to risk losing his job—and breaking his heart—to win the girl of his dreams?

My thoughts on the book:
Mia is just a down-home girl who comes from Texas royalty but can she convince her new horse trainer to give her a chance and see where it leads. Sam, is done with traveling and it ready to enjoy life back home at the ranch when he get a call and is wondering if tangling with Texas royalty will be worth it? Can they both come to an agreement and help each other out or will it all be to much for both of them?
I enjoyed the story it was a really sweet love story with some fun adventures thrown in. I have never read anything by Soraya so I am not sure if its normal for her books but it seemed like the story would have been a lot better with out all the curse words it just seems a little to much. There is strong language and adult scenes in the book. I will say that the relationship with Kat, Tanner, Angie, Cody and Mia was super sweet I loved the bickering and the back in forth but when one needed the other they were there for each other and added such a sweet element to the storyline.

Snow Job Kelly Fitzpatrick

Description:

Natalie Duncan is caught off guard and on the road over the Christmas holiday by a blinding snowstorm. In an act of desperation, she picks up a hitchhiker along the mountain pass. When night closes in and the storm worsens, they take refuge in an abandoned cabin to wait out the blizzard.

Russ Crew is instantly attracted to Natalie, but the gold band on her finger stops him from pursuing her.
Natalie, a widow, is also drawn to him except the difference in their ages convinces her that he’s a nice guy simply being polite. Due in part to their desperate situation they form an emotional bond that soon turns physical. But once the snow melts, can they make a relationship work in the world outside their ramshackle cabin?

My thoughts on the book:

Natalie is on her way to do a favor for her brother. When she gets stuck in a blizzard and decides to help a hitch hiker who looks like he just broke down. She never does this and is wondering what she was doing and what would happen next. Russ is on his way to his next home and his next job in hopes to start his life anew. However it seemed that everything is against him. When he gets stuck in a blizzard his only hope is the car coming his way. When Natalie and he come along a cabin they seem to stuck and have to find ways to stay warm and stay out of the cold and boy does he have some ways. Will he be able to get through to Natalie and her heart or at the end will it all become to an end?
I was not a fan of this book. I did appreciate how for the most part the author tried to keep the language clean, that being said there are some adult scenes through out the book. I felt like there really wasn't much of a heart to this story I also felt like it seem to repeat its self a lot. This story was not for me however if you want to give it a chance its a fairly quick read.

Little Girl Lost Janet Gover

Description:

When a little girl goes missing, an entire town comes together to find her ...
When Tia Walsh rides into the small town of Coorah Creek on a Harley-Davidson, Sergeant Max Delaney senses that everything about her spells trouble. But Tia's trouble is not all of her own making, and the dangerous past she tried to leave behind is hot on her heels.

Sarah Travers has returned home after three years of college to find that her parents have been keeping a devastating secret. Her childhood crush, Pete Rankin, is facing his own struggle with a harsh reality that will take him away from the girl and the life that he loves.

Tia, Max, Sarah and Pete are all trying to find their future, but when a little girl goes missing in the harsh outback, nothing else matters except finding her safe ...

My thoughts on the book:
Tia has spend most her life as a runaway and now she feels she can maybe stop and take a break. She finds a job in the last place anyone would look for her and she is hopeful she can stay a little while this time. Max is a cop place in the furthest place away from anyone almost as a punishment for doing whats right. He loves what he does but when Tia catches his eye he knows there is something she's hiding but he needs to know her and he can't figure out why.
Sarah has come home to help her parents only to find things are not what she thought with her parents. So she's her to stay and hopefully find her knight and shining armor. Pete is super surprised to see Sarah is back and its a good surprise but he also has someone else in his life who just through a wrench into the mix and he doesn't know what to do next.

Ok this is my fault I know I totally judge a book by its cover and read nothing about what this book was about. I was frustrated at first that there was two stories going on at once, however the author did an amazing job streamline both stories and leaving nothing missing, she made it super easy to follow what was going on in each story. I loved all the characters in each there own way. The story had a edge of your seat to it in some parts and in the other the storyline grabs your attention and draws you in even more. I really enjoyed this book over all I loved everything about it. This book is really worth the read over all and you wont be disappointed.

By Firelight Janice Maynard

Description:

Hot Arctic Nights
In North Pole, Alaska, Christmas spirit is everywhere—except in Hallie Prentiss’s heart. At least her
two-week stint managing the Dancing Elves B&B will pay the bills. Then she gets a look at long-term guest Daniel Reynolds. Whether dressed as Santa or (even better) wearing next to nothing, the man is gorgeous, charming, and sexy as hell. Workaholic Hallie is tempted to take a walk on the naughty side for once. But when she does, will she ever want to leave?

By Firelight
There’s nothing like nearly freezing to death on the Appalachian Trail to make a woman want to live a little. And when Madison Tierney stumbles upon Grant Monroe’s mountain cabin during a blizzard, she’s gripped by something more than gratitude. Soon, the glow of firelight sparks hot, sweet kisses…and the start of a Christmas adventure she’ll never forget.

My thoughts on the book:

Grant went to his cabin to get away and think. When Madison falls literally on his door steps. They set to make the most of the situation since they are snowed in and no where to go.
Hallie has had a rough year and just lost her job she's off to North Pole Alaska the last place wants to be but its for two weeks and its not like she's staying. Daniel is working in North Pole and loves what he does when Hallie takes one the B and B he sets out to get her to stay.
Being the fact this book contained 2 stories in one I felt like each story lacked something. I would say that it would have been better if the author would have taken one story and went with it and add more to the heart of the story. Neither story lacks sexual tension or sexual attraction. The story just really seem to lack something. I felt like HOT ARCTIC NIGHTS had a little more heart to it and I would loved to have seen more of the story continue. I would say that the fact this has adult scenes this may not be the book for everyone.

Run to You Rachel Lacey Risking it all #1

Description:

ONE LITTLE LIE. A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.
Moments after meeting the most gorgeous guy ever, Gabby Winters promptly gets stung by a zillion yellowjackets and falls-not gracefully-into a stream. Yup, Ethan Hunter is trouble with a capital "hot," and Gabby definitely needs to keep her distance. Except in the small town of Haven, there's nowhere to hide from Ethan's sexy, infectious grin . . . and all the residents are conspiring against her.

At the center of the town's matchmaking is Ethan's grandmother, who's convinced their relationship is a done deal. Rather than break her heart, Gabby and Ethan find themselves cornered into pretending to be falling in love. The problem: there's serious sizzling attraction between them. And if this charade continues, they won't fool just the entire town - they might fool themselves too . . .

My thoughts on the book:

Gabby has gone to the mountains to find herself. She not looking for a relationship she just got out of one but when she stumbles onto the hottest guy she's ever seen of course she has to get stung by a ton of yellowjacks. When she falls she knows she needs to stay away from him but his sweet grandma seems to have other plans for the both of them.
Ethen has a plan for his life and that is to keep the women close but there emotions far far away. He enjoys women and he enjoys the next adventure as well. He and his best friends have come home to open off the grid adventure and they plan to make the best of it. When Ethen gets some bad news he knows there is one way to help and he knows he method will not explode in his face its a fool proof plan. Or is it?
This book touches on some tough subjects over all self worth is a big factor on both main characters part. I really enjoyed how the author didn't leave anything off topic it seemed. The storyline is just amazing. The characters at some points felt so raw with emotions it felt like you were catching up with people you know. I loved Lance the puppy and his little personality and I just loved loved Dixie and I loved her old school personality. I felt however that the amount of strong language really took away from it over all it was just to much. There are some sex scenes in the book so this book is not for all ages.

The city girl is surprised how much she enjoys switching her high heels for cowboy boots and pedicures for mud treatments—and not the kind you find at a day spa. And she’s falling hard for Wil Parker, the sexy, rugged farmer at the centre of the show.

Amidst the chaos, tantrums and editing tape, the heat and passion between Emily and Wil reaches boiling point. But can they survive the imminent explosion, let alone the fallout?

My thoughts on the book:

Emily Wolfe is sick of the game of life and she is sick of these guys who are looking for just one thing. She needs, wants, and is ready for a real man in her life, her career is perfect and she is ready to have everything. When she gets a chance to appear on a show to win the heart of a cowboy she knows in her head this is the next step to finding MR Right but in her heart she is starting to have second guess.
Wil is a cowboy who has been burned once from the love of his life when he is convinced to appear on a show to find the love of his life he doesn't know what will come of it but he know he needs open his heart and his mind to it. But will secrets and the past destroy his chance to really love some one?

The story line seems to be written like along the same line as The Bachelor Tv Series. The storyline is well written and it has some really sweet and to the heart of the matter moments, there is a ton of sexual tension throughout as well.  I was kind of turned off by story at the same time there are some strong language and adult scenes in this book so its not for everyone. Also it seemed that sex seemed to be the bases of the relationship and the over all relationship seemed disingenuous. This book was over all a good read and will be a good book for the right person.

The Matchmakers of Minnow Bay Kelly Harms

Description:

A young painter, Lily has reached a crossroads in her life. Her career hasn't taken off, her best friend may no longer be the trusted friend she thought, her boyfriend is a disappointment, and now she can't keep up with the rising cost of living in the city. With no one to turn to, Lily is forced to move from her beloved apartment, but while packing she comes across a piece of mail that had slipped to the back of her junk drawer: a letter detailing further action needed to finalize the annulment of a quickie Vegas wedding. Ten years ago!

Lily decides it's time to turn over a new leaf and the first item on her list of things to fix is getting the annulment... but you can't just send a reply ten years later, "Hey by the way we are still married." This is something that must be addressed in person. Lily takes to the road to track down her husband - the charming, fun, and sexy man she connected with all those years ago - Ben Hutchinson.

Ben Hutchinson left a wealthy dot-com lifestyle behind to return home to his family and the small town he loves, Minnow Bay. He's been living off the grid and the last thing he expects is a wife he didn't know he had to show up on his doorstep.

By chance, Lily arrives at the magical Minnow Bay Inn, and there she will discover not just a place to lay her head, but new friends, a thriving art community, and maybe even the love of her life.

My thoughts on the book:

Lily for the last 10 years has worked really hard to make in the Art world. She has been there for her brother, her best friend and her so called boyfriend. But looking back now that she is about to be homeless she turns to everyone who she's always helped and no one seems to be in a hurry to help her and she wonders what next in store and if there friendships and relationships she has built are really once she wants to keep. When packing she discovers that she is still married and now she needs to track down and explain everything to Ben and hope he understands. Will he be able to understand or just tracking him down cause more problems then good?

I found this book at the beginning very whinny and annoying. However once I got further into the book the storyline shined and it just drew me in and left me wondering what was going to happen next. There were some slow drag spots but over all the storyline itself is amazing and carries it self. I wish that the story would have been from both Ben and Lily's point of view but the author does a good job at explain it from both sides. I really loved Simone, Jenny and Colleen they seem to really make the story and add some fun to it. Colleen and her struggles add to the heart of the story as well. The friendships formed in this book seem very genuine and the town of Minnow Bay makes you want to jump in the car and go visit these fun sweet people.

A Summer to Remember, Marilyn Pappano

What's the book about:

FIRST LOVE NEVER FADES . . .
It's been a long time since widow Fia Thomas felt the spark of physical attraction. But from the moment she meets Elliot Ross one stormy night, she yearns for a fresh start, for him to make her feel whole and well again. With his broad shoulders and a warm smile crinkling his dark eyes, he could finally offer her the solace she's been seeking. And she's willing to give him anything in return . . . except a promise that could break his heart.
Now that Elliot is out of the Army, he's looking for a place to call home. Tallgrass was just a stop to stretch his legs, yet one look at Fia halts him in his tracks. In her sweet, sassy company, he finds the soul mate he never thought he'd have. But Fia is holding something back-something that keeps her from making any plans. Elliot's new mission: gain Fia's trust...and convince her that summer's end can mean a new beginning.

My thoughts on the book:

Elliot just got out of the Army and he's ready to find a place that feels like home. He's been to his sisters house and his parents house but nothing felt like home. He pulls into Tallgrass, Ok and he realizes he maybe staying for a little bit. Fia is home in Tallgrass she is dealing with the loss of her husband and the one person who loved her unconditionally and she has a secret that could make or break her. She has the Margarita   girls and they are the best sisters and family she could have ever hand picked. When she meets Elliot on a fluke she wonders if she can be normal and have another chance at love. But will the secrets she is hiding destroy any chance with her and Elliot or will they open the doors to so much more?
While the storyline was powerful and at sometimes emotional dealing with love and loss and forgiveness. I felt that the story also was distracting by running another story hand in hand which had no ties to Elliot and Fia's story at all. I found that it took away from the over all flow of the book. I did enjoy the relationship between the women and it shows that loss can really draw people together and bring them to a place of love and healing. I really did enjoy the relationship between Cadence, Marti and Dillion and hope they have a story of there own to come. I feel like this book may be a good book for the right person it just wasn't for me.

Too Hot to Handle Tessa Bailey

What's the book about:
The road trip was definitely a bad idea. Having already flambéed her culinary career beyond recognition, Rita Clarkson is now stranded in God-Knows-Where, New Mexico, with a busted-ass car and her three temperamental siblings, who she hasn't seen in years. When rescue shows up---six-feet-plus of hot, charming sex on a motorcycle---Rita's pretty certain she's gone from the frying pan right into the fire . . .

Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he's about to be sorely tempted. There's something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn't just for tonight---he's forever.

***
The Romancing the Clarksons series
Book 1 - Too Hot to Handle (Rita and Jasper)
Book 2 - Too Wild to Tame (Aaron and Grace)
Book 3 - Too Hard to Forget (Peggy and Elliot)
Book 4 - Title TK (Belmont and Sage)

My thoughts on the book:

Tragedy strikes the Clarkston family again mainly Rita this time, when her mom's restaurant catches fire she knows it's time for a change and she doesn't know that that change is going to be. When she finds her mom's journal she sets out with her siblings on a road trip each has there own plans with the end results of them ending up in New York for there mom's final wishes.
When they break down everything states to change in Rita's world and she's starting to wonder where her next stop will take her.
Jasper is sick of being known as the town tramp and he is ready to start as a new life and see other options in his life. He has one person he is set to prove he did good and he is set to continue to have lunches with Grandma. When he is on the way to have lunch he sees Rita's family broken down and he knows he needs to stop when she catches his eye he knows he needs to take this slow or reputation will still be true. Will they both be able to find were they belong before its so late.

I am not sure where I stand with this book..... While I found the storyline well written and it draws you in, and leaves you wanting more. The story gives you an amazing group of fun characters from grouchy to right down ornery and funny. I enjoyed the banter and relationship with Jasper's grandma and her role in the book it wasn't this flamboyant personality you would expect from a star but its just perfect and you know where she stands. What I didn't like is I felt the language was super strong and on almost every page. I felt that if it was calmed down and not used as often then the book would have been that much better. Over all the book was a decent read just feel it could have been a little better with less curse words.
