Lone Witness Rachel Dylan- Atlanta Justice #2

Description:
Prosecutor Sophie Dawson's first job in the White Collar division of the Fulton County D.A.'s office is to build a case against a local bank employee who may be cheating clients. But when circumstances beyond her control leave her as the only witness to a double homicide involving a vengeful gang, her world is turned upside down.

Former Atlanta police officer turned private security guard Cooper Knight is hired to ensure that Sophie is kept safe. But as threats escalate, they don't know who they can trust.

Sophie is determined not to back down, but her bank case gets more complicated by the day, and the gang will stop at nothing to keep her from testifying. Sophie wants to take a stand for what's right--but can Cooper, who is determined not to be distracted by their growing attraction, keep her safe so that she can finish her pursuit for justice?

My thoughts on the book:
Sophia loves her job, but it seems she ended up in the wrong place and the wrong time or maybe the right time. Now it seems someone has it in for her. Cooper enjoys protecting those who need it, but when he gets a call to protect someone he knows this now just got personal and he needs to keep everything professional he just needs to convince Sophia that nothing more can come of this. Can they get to the bottom of the truth before it's to late?

Every time I get my hands on one of Rachel's books I am never disappointed. This book was the same way it had me on the edge of my seat and I had a hard time putting it down. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed how no matter what Sophie face she doesn't give up on her faith she holds it close and it truly comes off the pages. I loved Copper, Noah, and Landon and how they a friendship that no matter what they have each other back. At first, I was concerned because there were quite a few characters and sometimes it makes it hard and to follow but that was not the case at all it was easy to follow and completely flowed.  If you have never read any of Rachel's book grab this series you will not be disappointed. This book is a good clean read with lots of adventure. Lone Witness reminds me of Dee Henderson's O'Malley Family Series, I really can't wait for more.

Storm Front Susan May Warren- Montana Rescue #5

Description:
A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community and among the missing are not only a group of students but PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved--and lost--walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine.

A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn't expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked--no, ran--from over a year ago. She had her reasons--good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn't the kind of man to give up--not on the missing students, or on her.

Life and love hang in the balance in Susan May Warren's breathless story of holding on to hope during a deadly summer of storms.

My thoughts on the book:

Ty can not get her out of his mind and his heart for the last year he knows in his gut something is just not right, but he needs to respect that she doesn't want him no matter what he does. Brette is chasing storms and running from a path she's not willing to accept any other way then as its playing out. Can the two come together when the storms hit and help those in need or will it be too explosive?

I have fallen in love with the PEAK team series. No matter what the team member are going through they come together as a "family" and help each other out. This book is completely action-packed and very moving. Ty and Brette were both faced with things that were out of there control and each responded differently to the trials they faced. Ty showed that no matter what he was faced with his faith tested or not he wanted to remain firm in his faith and to hold on to God and his unconditional love no matter what.  It makes you really appreciate those you have. This book is a good clean read.  From the beginning, I found this book difficult to put down it has you on the edge of your seat and leaves you wanting more. I really enjoyed this book and you can't go wrong. I can't wait for the next book I am so ready to find out what the Team encounters next.

As the newest recruit at Search and Protect, Raul has a lot to prove. Luckily, he's got the best friend and partner a man could ask for: a highly trained, fiercely loyal German Shepherd Dog named Taz. Together, Raul and Taz make an unbeatable team. But when the kidnappers make their move, he's got to turn that slow-burning passion into hard-hitting action - and save the life of the woman he loves.

My thoughts on the book:
Raul is new to the team dogs he can relate to people not so much. When he is set out to help is best friends sister he now needs to prove himself to his new team and protect his heart in the mean time. Mali is in Hawaii to do research and try and help those who can't always help themselves. But when things go array she reaches out to her sister for help and she got Raul instead. Can they work together to rescue those close to her or is she better off on her own?

This is the second book in this series I have read and I have really enjoyed it. I enjoyed how the book flowed and there was never dull moment in this book at all. I loved how the author worked in the strong personalities of the dogs and they did not disappoint either. The author knew what she was doing when to took a very intense situation and throws in humor to keep the story interesting and your attention even more. There are adult scenes in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. The book other wise is amazing and so good from beginning to end you really can not go wrong. I can't wait to whats in store for the rest of the team members.

Punk Rock Cowgirl Kasey Lane- Blackberry Cove Cowboys Book 1

Description:
When Kendall Kelly's career as the free spirited punk country crossover queen ends in a fiery ball of doom and humiliation, she has no place to go but back to her hometown Blackberry Cove, California, where she abandoned her secret husband years ago without so much as a note. She’s hoping to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and finally cut the last tie to the only man she ever loved.

As part owner of Kelly Family Farms, Damian Sloan has spent the last few years rebuilding the floundering business into a growing organic farm. He thought he'd moved on from his broken heart, but when Kendall barges back into his life—broken but beautiful as ever---he soon realizes he hasn’t forgotten. Or forgiven. Kendall threatens everything he’s built, but he can’t quite turn her away.

Damian and Kendall must put aside their differences for the success of the farm they both depend on. Maybe, in the process, they can rebuild what they tragically lost.

My thoughts on the book:

Kendall got he news that she needs to come "home", it the last place she wants to be it hold a ton of memories she would rather leave in the past. But it seems this is the only options she may have as her life seems to be falling apart around her. Damian has spent the last four years angry and bitter. When his "ex" comes back into town he needs to something set a few things straight and then get on with his life. Can they come to a meeting of the minds or will it all be to late?
When this book first started I found Kendall this strong, independent strong willed women who would take no prisoners and I loved that. I however was not a huge fan of the book over all. I felt a lot of anger and hate in this book instead of what I thought was a love story of healing. This book seemed to drag a little. There is a lot of strong language and adult scenes through out, I have to say I don't think the story needed so much of the strong language I felt like it was a turn off. Over all  this book was just not for me. I did really love Kendall and loved how no matter what knocked her down she got back up and fought harder and didn't let anything stop her.

Finding True North Audrey Wick- Texas Sisters Book 1

Life in a small town has always suited Paige Fredrick. She loves going to work near the courthouse square and riding her bike nearly anywhere she chooses. But after her divorce, she can hear her neighbors' whispers and the gossip mill churning.

As Paige makes a new life, can she find direction with Everett? Or has too much damage already been done to navigate a romantic relationship built on a lie?

My thoughts on the book:
Paige is starting over and has this overwhelming feeling to keep things personal and not on display for her small home town. When she tells a little white lie she quickly realizes that she may be in to far in over her head. Everett comes back home to help his ailing parents but when he runs into his high school crush he is reminded of what he doesn't have. I mean what can go wrong. Can the two find what they are seeking or will a secret two the two of their lives apart?

This book was a fun read. I yelled at the characters, and wonder where the author was going with this "lie". I laughed at some of the fun and craziness of the characters, especially Ruby and Dale you really never know what is coming out of there mouths. I cried and could really connect with some of these characters. I loved how this book was a good clean read, this would be a great read for all. I have never read anything from Audrey Wick and now I can't wait for more. This book was super fun read and you won't regret the read.

Kill Shot Susan Sleeman

Description:
Some fears haunt you forever....

As the ballistics and weapon's expert for the FBI's special task force nicknamed the White Knights, Rick Cannon has known the Department of Defense was developing self-steering bullets. Rick feared these smart bullets--which have one hundred percent accuracy that can turn even a novice into a lethal sniper--would eventually end up in the hands of the wrong people. But since the ammunition was still in the development stage, he figured they had plenty of time before that happened. He was wrong. Dead wrong.

Until they become reality.

When a homeless vet is killed with a smart bullet, it's clear that the ammunition has been stolen, and the Knights are called in to find the thief and stop the killings. But they aren't the only ones desperate to find the killer. Therapist Olivia Dobbs is well known for her success in counseling military veterans with PTSD. When she discovers one of her clients moments after he is murdered, she becomes both the FBI's prime witness, and suspect.

Despite the mutual attraction that immediately sparks between them, Rick can't--no he won't--let Olivia interfere with his investigation. But when the sniper trains his rifle on her, Rick must recall all the skills he learned as a Marine sniper to make sure the next bullet fired isn't a kill shot that takes Olivia out.

My thoughts on the book:
Rick is on a special mission and it seems that there could be more to this then meets the eye can he find the bad guys before he looses someone close to him or even worse his own life?
Olivia is just helping her family and going on with life trying to help those she loves and soldiers who are struggling. But it seems that someone may be after her and her clients can she protect those she cares about?

This book was amazing, this book deals with some very tough subjects. I could not put this book down reading late into the night just to see what was going to happen next. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing with every turn of the page from beginning to end. I really loved the team and how they feel like a family all working towards the same goal and all have each others backs no matter what. I want to say one of my favorite characters in this book would be Yolanda she's like everyones favorite great aunt. I loved how this book was a good clean read and romance. This series so far has been amazing and I really can't wait for more. My hope is Shane and Kaci end up together (fingers cross) :-)!!!

Starting from Scratch Kate Lloyd- Lancaster Discoveries Book 2

Description:

An Old Flame Brings a Spark of New Hope

En Alt Maedel—an old maid.

At age twenty-nine, that's what Eva Lapp considers herself. And who could argue with her? Finding a good Amish husband at her age will be next to impossible. Plus, Eva's unwarranted bad reputation in Lancaster County precedes her. Maybe living the Englisch life would be better.

Squeezed out of her childhood home by her brother's boisterous family, Eva finds lodging and a new job managing a small café at a local plant nursery. But the challenge of her new position isn't enough to distract from her current predicament.

To Eva's surprise, her first love, Jake Miller, suddenly returns to Lancaster County. Flooded with emotions and filled with questions about Jake's past, can Eva trust what she's feeling?

Jake and Eva face many obstacles in their quest for a fresh start in the community, but perhaps with God's help, they can find the redemption they both desperately need.

My thoughts on the book:

This book is from one point of view. Eva is trying for find independence and when the past comes back she starts to question everything she does and what the future holds. Can she figure out what she wants or will it all be to much for her and she seeks her parents help?

At the beginning of this I really enjoyed it. I loved how this sweet "old Maid" amish girl was seeking her independence and finding herself on a new journey. I didn’t like the ending at all I didn’t like who she ended up with I felt like it was pushed on her instead of letting Eva make her choice. I felt like through the whole book the author seemed to be portraying this need for independence with Eva and the in the end she really didn’t have it, the choice was made for her and she was going with it no matter what. I also wish the author would have given the point of view from other characters the story seem to be missing something if that make sense. This book is a good clean read and was over all a fun I really enjoyed Beatrice and Stephan.

Lizette and Nola can't be one and the same just because they look alike. Sometimes the best of intentions can backfire in the worst way...

As a thank you to Lizette and Dirk, Nola enters them in a sweepstakes. Once again, she didn't read the fine print all the way through....

The road to happily ever after for Lizette, Dirk, Nola and Travis is bumpy, wild, and bittersweet. Vibrant is the third book in the Winning Your Heart series, and to best understand the story, So Unlike Me and Forbidden Shelter should be read first.
My thoughts on the book:

THIS BOOK IS PART OF A SERIES!!! The twins are back for there Happily ever after. It seems that some things are being thrown at them and its all about they can handle it. The girls each have feelings and have emotions they need to work through and the guys will stand by them but can they get through it all or will it drive them apart?
I really loved this book!!! I was so excited when I got it I could not put it down. The story just flowed and I was sucked into it.  When I started this book I wasn’t sure if you would get to read any of Nola and Travis point of view but the author did not disappoint. I love how even in this book where as a reader I expected this happily ever after to be a smooth process for these four and the author throw some twists in to keep things interesting from beginning to end. No smooth sailing for sure just a lot of lessons and fights all working towards there happily ever after. This book does have adult langue and tough topics. This book will not disappoint you will need to read the first 2 books in the series for this one to add it all up and make sense and not ruin a thing. Warning you will need a box of tissues for sure.
