The Cowboy's Claim Sinclair Jayne

Description:

“No strings,” he said….

Ex-special forces soldier and military dog handler Calhoun Miller is lucky to be alive. He wouldn’t even be in Marietta but for a vow he made to his fallen team leader to solve a mystery that spans decades. Spending a sexy, magical night with a beautiful woman isn’t part of the plan, but he’s never felt more compelled to seize the moment. And then a freak accident hospitalizes him, risking his mission to honor his friend.

As if returning to her hometown of Marietta isn’t awkward enough, hospitalist Dr. Jory Quinn is blindsided when her sexy, anonymous hookup becomes her patient, possibly derailing her career. She begs him to keep their secret, but when Calhoun reveals he’s in town to solve the long ago disappearance of her father and brother, keeping her distance, hands, and secrets to herself is beyond challenging.

Not to mention she might be…pregnant?

My Review:

I have read this whole series so I was excited to get my hands on this one for sure. I will say I was happy to see this one came with a bit of a suspense/mystery to it, it felt right. I like Calhoun he was a bit of a softy and not really a tough guy but with the situations in the book it just made sense. Jory was a tough nut, she was someone who had walls built so high it was going to take someone softer to break those walls down and let her see the love she deserved. They just complimented each other so much. I was also glad to catch up with the others from the series and see where they were in life. This book does contain sex content so may not be suitable for all. Overall I would say this was a fun book to read and the author did a good job keeping you guessing with what was really going on.

Special Ops Seduction Megan Crane

Description:

She's the last woman he ever wanted to see again...

After an official operation turned deadly, Jonas Crow began a new life in Grizzly Harbor with Alaska Force. But when fellow soldier Bethan Wilcox joins the group, she forces him to remember things he actively prefers to forget. That’s unforgivable enough. But now the two of them are forced together on a mission to uncover deadly secrets tied to their complicated past, and with the heat between them at a boil, forgiveness is the least of his worries...

And the only woman he needs.

Bethan Wilcox, one of the first women to make it through Army Ranger school, didn't join Alaska Force to deal with Jonas's foul temper. Or her own errant attraction to him. Thrown together in a race against the clock, they have to pretend to be a couple and play nice to throw the enemy off their scent. She knows better than to let their pretend love feel real...especially while time is running out.

Jonas has always been good at saving the world. But it’s Bethan he needs to save this time around—if she doesn’t save him first.

My thoughts on the book:

I liked Bethen I thought she was this hard @ss but also had this sweet side to her that only the very privileged got to see. The story was very predictable and to me sometimes all over the place. I found it hard to keep engaged in the story over all. I liked the Alaskan Force team and being able to catch up with those I have read about. I felt like the book seemed to have a lot of detail but also seemed to lack something. There was a situation between Bethan and Jonas that the author seemed to build on but when it came to head it really seemed minimal to what was really going on and made no sense for Jonas' attitude to the situation. This book does have sexual content in it and may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Book 1: Montana Welcome Melinda Curtis

Book 2: Montana Wishes by Amy Vastine

Book 3: Montana Dreams by Anna J. Stewart

Book 4: Montana Match by Carol Ross

Book 5: Montana Wedding by Cari Lynn Webb

My thoughts on the book:

With this book I kind of expected it to be wrapped up in a big fat red Christmas bow......but just like the other four books in the series it left me wanting so much more. I feel like in this book it was packed full of wisdom from the older characters through out Falcon Creek. I really felt like I could totally be friends with Georgie and Zach both have these big hearts who love unconditionally and will do anything for anyone. I really really liked this book a lot I like meddling Big E I love Grandma Dot and Pops. Overall I have really loved getting to know the Harrison and Blackwell families, They love deeply and will do anything for each other. These two series have been so fun to read and I am totally going to miss the brother and sisters and their families, I hope there will be more to come. I also liked how the author kept this a good clean read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Reality of Everything Rebecca Yarros

 Description:

Two years after the man she loved was killed in Afghanistan, Morgan Bartley is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. The reno on her dilapidated beach house in the Outer Banks might be just the distraction she needs to keep her debilitating anxiety attacks at bay and begin to heal her heart...if she can ignore the ridiculously handsome guy next door.

At twenty-eight, single-dad Jackson Montgomery’s life revolves around his five-year-old daughter and his job as a search-and-rescue pilot for the coast guard. He’s no stranger to saving a damsel in distress, and though his gorgeous new neighbor is clearly in distress, she’s no damsel. She’s stubborn as hell with walls a mile thick, and the dog tags hanging from her rearview mirror give him a pretty good clue as to why.

It doesn’t matter that their attraction is undeniable—she swore she’d never fall for another pilot, let alone a military man. There are some wounds time can’t heal, and some fears too consuming to conquer.

She’s a barely breathing heartbreak on the edge of recovery.
He’s a crash waiting to happen.
Together they could have it all...if they can endure the coming storm.

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new author to me so I wasn't sure what to think at first, however the author did not disappoint. The first thing I did noticed is the book is told in a first person point of view. What I liked was that although told in a FPP the author told the story from both characters point of view so there was no way you are going to miss a thing. Hands down I loved Fin what an amazing little girl with lots of sass. I however did not like Brie and was glad the author made her story short. This book is very powerful, intense, and super emotional the author did an amazing job and getting to the heart of the matter and totally drawing you in leaving you wanting me. I loved how no matter what Morgan faced Jackson was going to have her back, he truly was a hero. This book does have curse words and sex so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was amazing and I truly could not put this down, when you grab this book make sure you have a box of tissue close by. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Driftwood Bay Irene Hannon- Hope Harbor #5

Description:

After tragedy upends her world, Jeannette Mason retreats to the tiny Oregon seaside town of Hope Harbor to create a new life. Vowing to avoid emotional attachments, she focuses on running her lavender farm and tea-room--until a new neighbor with a destructive dog and a forlorn little girl invades her turf. But she needn’t worry. Dr. Logan West is too busy coping with an unexpected family, a radical lifestyle change, and an unruly pup to have any interest in his aloof and disagreeable neighbor.

Yet when both Jeanette and Logan find themselves pulled into the life of a tattered Christian family fleeing persecution in war-torn Syria, might they discover that love sometimes comes calling when it’s least expected?

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites readers back to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor, where they are sure to find peace, healing, and a second chance at happiness.

My thoughts on the book:

When broken people need hope after loss or just finding a place to start over what better place then a town named Hope Harbor. I love the fun characters in this small town of Hope Harbor, no matter what or who needs something it seems like they are always willing to come together and help each other out. I love how the Priest and the pastor are always joking around yet always helping those in town no matter who it is. I think in all the books I have read in the Hope Harbor Series Charley is my favorite character he reminds me of the Bible verse that talks about Entertaining angels unaware. The story in this book just broke my heart about how the little girls lost so much. I had a hard time putting this book down while it dealt with a lot of loss it also had points of laughter and fun. I loved that this book was a good clean read and was so powerful. If you are looking for a really good book you can't go wrong with this series.

Find out who hot alpha flight medic, Langston Brooks has been seeing on the sly for years. After keeping their love affair a secret for a decade, will they finally get their happily ever after?

My thoughts on the book:

This is the second book in this series I have read and what a fun read it was. I liked how the author took two very broken people each in their own way and made them feel completely relatable and made them feel more like friends. The storyline was short, sweet and to the point but it was also a page turner kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next. I love small town romance and this book fit that perfectly. In the end there was on character who was super fun and quirky and totally had me laughing at it's antics, you will have to read to find out who only because this person played a hard head in the beginning and I don't want to give much away. This book does have sex in it so it may not be for all reads. Over all I would recommend this fun book.

A Brilliant Christmas Allie Pleiter

Description:

Zoe Walters pours her heart and soul into the community arts center she runs. Her kids could benefit so much from the brilliant talents of animator Nigel Langdon—if he weren’t such a legendary grump. The next six weeks of his artist-in-residency look like they’ll ruin Zoe’s Christmas for sure. And certainly, things get off to a rocky start until Zoe discovers the great big heart—and the deep hurt—Nigel’s been hiding under that crusty exterior. It turns out Nigel can see through to Zoe’s deepest wounds as well. When the arts center is threatened, Nigel and Zoe come together not only to save the organization, but to discover a love and the brilliant Christmas no one ever expected.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book I have read from this author that was a First person point of view. This book was a fun read, it was also a super quick read. Zoe and Nigel both have such different lives where they are both faced with different trials but brought together to make a group of kids lives better. I do with in a sense she would have included Nigel's side of things he has a story that needs I would have love to hear a little more from him, but that being said nothing was lacking in this story either, hope that makes a sense . This book was totally worth the read and a super fun and clean read

My thoughts on the book:

What a perfect ending to a really fun series. I have never read anything by this author and this book will not be my last book by this author. This book was amazing it tells the last of the 5 brothers story and also you finally get to read Katie's story which I was so excited about. This book was super emotional in parts and then it has you laughing in others. I love how the author also told Rosie's story she had this personality that jumps off the pages she has a large personality just like her cousins from The Rancher's Twin. If you have not been reading this series grab this book and the other four you will not be disappointed. The Rodeo Cowboy's Baby Heidi Rice- The 79th Cooper Mountain Rodeo #5

Description:

What happens at the rodeo… Doesn’t always stay at the rodeo!

A year after her marriage has crashed and burned–along with her dreams of becoming a mother–Irish newspaper columnist, Evie Donnelly, is not impressed with her editor’s suggestion she head down to Marietta to find some ‘new meat’ for her dating column. With her confidence as a woman at an all-time low, surely the last thing she needs is to risk hooking up with a rodeo cowboy?

Despite a troubled past as a foster kid, call roping champion Flynn is a man who adores women. Maybe he doesn’t do commitment, but he does do good times and he is only too happy to help when he discovers a smart, funny and beautiful but undeniably fragile woman behind Evie’s tough exterior who is in desperate need of his own personal brand of sexual healing.

But when the rodeo is over, Evie and Flynn can’t forget those three stolen nights together in Marietta–especially when their wild, wonderful ride turns out to have even more unforgettable consequences.

My thoughts on the book:

I have never read anything by this author and seriously I want to go grab another book from her if they are all like this. She has a way of getting to the heart of the matter and that was very much through out this book. My heart broke for Evie she has such and amazing story. I can also say once Flynn told his story I could see why the author wrote these two characters so perfectly, just two broken souls each searching for something but not wanting to much from either. I will say that since I have read Flynn's story I want too read his siblings stories in hopes that they too find there happily ever afters. This book ended the series perfectly it totally summed up all the other books and in the end if left me wanting so much more and also I fell in love with the characters all over again. The book does have strong and adult language and scenes.

Storm Front Susan May Warren- Montana Rescue #5

Description:
A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community and among the missing are not only a group of students but PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved--and lost--walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine.

A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn't expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked--no, ran--from over a year ago. She had her reasons--good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn't the kind of man to give up--not on the missing students, or on her.

Life and love hang in the balance in Susan May Warren's breathless story of holding on to hope during a deadly summer of storms.

My thoughts on the book:

Ty can not get her out of his mind and his heart for the last year he knows in his gut something is just not right, but he needs to respect that she doesn't want him no matter what he does. Brette is chasing storms and running from a path she's not willing to accept any other way then as its playing out. Can the two come together when the storms hit and help those in need or will it be too explosive?

I have fallen in love with the PEAK team series. No matter what the team member are going through they come together as a "family" and help each other out. This book is completely action-packed and very moving. Ty and Brette were both faced with things that were out of there control and each responded differently to the trials they faced. Ty showed that no matter what he was faced with his faith tested or not he wanted to remain firm in his faith and to hold on to God and his unconditional love no matter what.  It makes you really appreciate those you have. This book is a good clean read.  From the beginning, I found this book difficult to put down it has you on the edge of your seat and leaves you wanting more. I really enjoyed this book and you can't go wrong. I can't wait for the next book I am so ready to find out what the Team encounters next.

Meant to Be Maggie McGinnis- Whiskey Creek series #5

Description:
At twenty-eight, Shelby Quinn’s already a has-been. Scooped off a country stage at sixteen and remolded into glittery pop princess Tara Gibson, she toured the country for a decade, playing to sold-out stadiums while slowly losing her soul. Now her sales are waning, and when her beloved father dies in a fiery plane crash, she finally comes apart at the seams. Alone and brokenhearted, she hides away at Whisper Creek Ranch, never expecting to meet a man who understands her in a way no one else ever has.

Cooper Davis was one of Boston’s top detectives—until a bogus investigation cost him his badge, his family, and almost his life. Now he’s wrangling horses and guests at Whisper Creek Ranch, while keeping one eye firmly on a super-secret VIP holed up in a private cabin—a beautiful, soulful singer who knows what it’s like to lose everything. Cooper and Shelby both have ample reason to guard their hearts. But if they can learn to trust each other, something magical awaits them under the big skies and bright stars.

My thoughts on the book:

Shelby has been living the life of another for so long she feels she has lost herself. With the loss of her father her label is afraid she may be loosing it and ships her off to Montana, the rules are stay hidden and keep under the radar, and she is set to do that. Cooper is in Montana after the loss of a job he loved and would have done anything for. He is not set to find himself when his boss has him watch over a unknown "celebrity". He's not happy about the assignment he would rather deal with horses then people. Will he be able to keep things professional and help Shelby stay out of sight?
I love Carefree Montana I love catching up with the fun group of friends and I can't wait for more. I loved how the author made each one of these characters relatable and made them feel more like friends. I really enjoyed the storyline as a whole. I enjoyed the laid back ness of Whiskey Ranch it truly made me want to jump on the next plane and go visit. There is some strong language throughout the book but over all this book is so worth the read and so fun. The book is a quick read as well so you wont be disappointed.

Home At Last Deborah Raney- A Chicory Inn Series book #5

Description:
Link Whitman has settled into the role of bachelor without ever intending to. Now he’s stuck in a dead-end job and, as the next Whitman wedding fast approaches, he is the last one standing. The pressure from his sisters’ efforts to play matchmaker is getting hard to bear as Link
pulls extra shifts at work, and helps his parents at the Chicory Inn.

All her life, Shayla Michaels has felt as if she straddled two worlds. Her mother's white family labeled her African American father with names Shayla didn't repeat in polite––well, in any company. Her father’s family disapproved as well, though they eventually embraced Shayla as
their own. After the death of her mother, and her brother Jerry’s incarceration, life has left Shayla's father bitter, her niece, Portia, an orphan, and Shayla responsible for them all. She knows God loves them all, but why couldn't people accept each other for what was on the inside? For their hearts?

Everything changes one icy morning when a child runs into the street and Link nearly hits her with his pickup. Soon he is falling in love with the little girl’s aunt, Shayla, the beautiful woman who runs Coffee’s On, the bakery in Langhorne. Can Shayla and Link overcome society’s view
of their differences and find true love? Is there hope of changing the sometimes-ugly world around them into something better for them all?

My thoughts on the book:
Link feels like a fish out of water with yet another Whitman wedding in the works. When he is working with the homeless shelter he meets the girl who feels like she could be the one but she doesn't check everything off his "list", however in a twist of fate it seems to have gotten off on the wrong foot now he needs to convince her they are meant to be together for ever. Will someone try and stop them and will it work? Shayla has a lot on her plate, taking care of her dad, her niece and the bakery but when Link drops into her life she knows this can't be a good choice. She needs to focus on her niece and the bakery however it seems everyone else has plans for her and it seems that someone has it out for her. Can she protect her niece and her heart or will this all end in disaster?
This storyline was pretty good I enjoyed the added suspense to the book, even though it wasn't a lot it kept your interest through out just wanting to know what happens. The story has some really tough subjects that are brought up through out, I kind of felt it was a little to much at some points. This book is a good clean read which was super nice and made the book enjoyable. This book is part of a series however I did not feel like I missed anything by not reading the other books before, however it hints at some things from pervious books that make me want to go and follow up with the story.

When she finally found the strength to set them both free, she discovered friendship and self-acceptance in her adopted hometown. Johnny can’t let her go without a fight so he sets out to seduce his own wife. But will passion alone be enough to convince Tessa that her new life should include a second chance at happiness with a man who must learn to believe in love?

Fall in love with Close to Home by Lily Everett!

My thoughts on the book:

Tessa is married to an amazing man, someone who saved her from a past that was not all the great. She is not set off on her own because he can't seem to love her the way she craves and she hopes to find the independence she craves when she find what feel like home in Sanctuary island. Johnny come home from a hell of a two year undercover operation, he knew if he could just get home and to his wife life would be right again. However she has gone and now he sets off to convince her he needs her to come home, but when he arrives on Sanctuary Island he's in for a surprise of his own and now he doesn't know what to do from here. Can he win her love and convince her there marriage was something beyond name or will it be to late?
I was so excited to get my hands on this book, I have fallen in love with Sanctuary Island and the fun characters there. This story was no different I loved this fun group of characters and I can not wait to read Marcus' story next. I loved how in this story from beginning to the end the storyline grabs your attention and keeps you all the way through. I love how the author throws in a twist just when you think you have it all figured out or you think whats going to happen next. I also really enjoyed the small element of suspense in the book it just seem to tie everything together. I also really enjoyed how she kept the characters relatable. The book does have some adult scenarios and may not be enjoyable for all readers. I will say this if you have or have not been following this series grab this book its so worth the read and you wont regret it.

Christmas Comes to Main Street Olivia Miles (Briar Creek Series book #5)

Description:

The mistletoe is out, and the gloves are off . . .
'Tis the worst season to be single, but Kara Hastings won't let a little Christmas funk spoil the festive season. Sure, running her own bakery is a little harder than she expected, but she can handle it. And she'll prove it to a certain infuriatingly handsome, bossy Big City guy. She may be sugar and spice, but she can kick his butt twice.

Nate Griffin is in Briar Creek only for the holidays, and he refuses to fall for the whole "small town, candy cane-scented Christmas Wonderland" thing. He's more interested in the fresh-faced cookie chef who always knows exactly how to get under his skin. So when Nate challenges Kara in the town's big holiday contest, it's not just the competition that starts to heat up. If he's not careful, Kara won't just melt his icy resolve against a small-town Christmas . . . she'll melt his heart too.

My thoughts on the book:

Kara has her hands full trying to get her shop off the ground and she it hoping for one thing to prove to her friends, family and most important to herself she will not fail. She starts to wonder it she took on to much and then a hot looking guy crashes into her and she just about lost it. Every time she runs into him she seems to have more of an explosive encounter. Nate has come to help his aunt out since he sent his parents on the best vacation they have ever had. However he wonders how quickly he can come into town and how quickly he can leave. He knows these kind of people and they are just not "his kind'. Will Nate be able to break down his walls and enjoy the Christmas holiday before its to late? Will Kara and Nate be able to set everything aside and enjoy helping those in need or will it be to much for the both of them?
I read not to long ago one of the other books in this series and was not a fan. However this book redeemed it, the book was amazing. I loved the storyline and I loved the characters and the small town story. This book put me in the mood for Christmas and I can't wait to just enjoy the true spirit of Christmas. I could not stop reading this book once I started it I found it enjoyable and a semi quick read. There was one adult scene in the book but other then that it was a very clean read. If you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit or if your just looking for a really fun book, then this is the book for you.

Plain Choice Sarah Price

What's the book about:
Amanda’s husband, Cuban pop star Alejandro, believed he was doing right by his wife when he left her on her parents’ farm in the familiar shelter of Lancaster’s Amish community. Amanda, however, has other ideas. Unwilling to sit idly by and hide from the paparazzi, she follows her husband to Europe for the start of his world tour to find out if their marriage can be saved once and for all.
When the two reunite, it’s plain to see that their love is stronger than their differences. But as they travel together, Amanda is surprised to discover that her own fame is beginning to match her husband’s. Now she must struggle to bridge her Amish upbringing and a new, unasked-for role in the public eye. As other unexpected tensions challenge their bond, can Amanda and Alejandro keep their promises and make space for her faith, his fame, and a growing love?

My thoughts on the book:
Alejandro leaves Amanda and he is to stubborn to make it right because he thinks he's doing the right thing by her. So off on the world tour he goes and he doesn't look back or question his choice till he's there and starts to wonder what like would be with out her and he wonders if the choices he's making are the right ones. Amanda is back home on the farm with Alejandro's daughter and knows it time to fix things with her husband she's just waiting for him to make the first move, well until someone brings to her attention that may she needs to do it. So off to she goes and hopes its not to late and Alejandro will have her again. But will they be able to work things out even with the secrets that come out.
I was not a fan of book 4 at all but this book made up for it. This book was the perfect follow up, the book draws you in and keeps you till the end. The story sums up Alejandro and Amanda and there lives and sweet family, they are once again faced with trials that could make or break some couples. The story line this time made them seem more real and less like untouchable. I really don't think there was one thing about the book I did not like. You really will not be disappoint with this wonderful story.
