Meant to Be Maggie McGinnis- Whiskey Creek series #5

Description:
At twenty-eight, Shelby Quinn’s already a has-been. Scooped off a country stage at sixteen and remolded into glittery pop princess Tara Gibson, she toured the country for a decade, playing to sold-out stadiums while slowly losing her soul. Now her sales are waning, and when her beloved father dies in a fiery plane crash, she finally comes apart at the seams. Alone and brokenhearted, she hides away at Whisper Creek Ranch, never expecting to meet a man who understands her in a way no one else ever has.

Cooper Davis was one of Boston’s top detectives—until a bogus investigation cost him his badge, his family, and almost his life. Now he’s wrangling horses and guests at Whisper Creek Ranch, while keeping one eye firmly on a super-secret VIP holed up in a private cabin—a beautiful, soulful singer who knows what it’s like to lose everything. Cooper and Shelby both have ample reason to guard their hearts. But if they can learn to trust each other, something magical awaits them under the big skies and bright stars.

My thoughts on the book:

Shelby has been living the life of another for so long she feels she has lost herself. With the loss of her father her label is afraid she may be loosing it and ships her off to Montana, the rules are stay hidden and keep under the radar, and she is set to do that. Cooper is in Montana after the loss of a job he loved and would have done anything for. He is not set to find himself when his boss has him watch over a unknown "celebrity". He's not happy about the assignment he would rather deal with horses then people. Will he be able to keep things professional and help Shelby stay out of sight?
I love Carefree Montana I love catching up with the fun group of friends and I can't wait for more. I loved how the author made each one of these characters relatable and made them feel more like friends. I really enjoyed the storyline as a whole. I enjoyed the laid back ness of Whiskey Ranch it truly made me want to jump on the next plane and go visit. There is some strong language throughout the book but over all this book is so worth the read and so fun. The book is a quick read as well so you wont be disappointed.

Unlucky in Love Maggie McGinnis Whiskey Creek Series #4

Description:

From the author of Once Upon a Cowboy (“Sexy, charming, and perfectly heartwarming.”—Lauren Layne) comes another sweet novel of the Whisper Creek Ranch, where sizzling Montana men melt the most stubborn hearts.

After Alexis Maguire’s wedding day comes and goes without a groom, she decides that it’s time for a change. Tired of being the dependable, steady—and apparently boring—one, Alexis hopes that a cross-country road trip will help her loosen up and find her inner sparkle. Her first stop is the Whisper Creek Ranch, where the hot wranglers are sure to bring out her inner party girl. The trouble is, she can’t stand pretending to be someone she’s not—especially around the cowboy who tempts her to stay put.

Gunnar Peterson has spent six months working at Whisper Creek, and he’s never been happier. Having grown up an army brat, he’s ready to put down roots, and the only thing missing is a woman to share his life with. When Alexis blows into town, Gunnar thinks he may have met his match, despite the wild-child facade he sees right through. But Alexis swears she won’t settle down anytime soon—so it’s up to Gunnar to convince her that what she’s looking for . . . is right here.

My thoughts on the book:

Alexis is working on Lexi 2.0, if she can change then she can maybe win back her ex. Her sister has other plans and her sister sets her up to go on an adventure with a list that she needs to complete and wants whats best for her sister after everything she's been through. Gunnar is finally where he wants to be and setting roots down. It seems that the girls not he ranch have other plans. When Alexis shows up on the ranch to work, she enlist him to help her out but he has other plans. Will they be able to come together and forget everything or will they be able to come together and build a future before  something or someone pulls them apart?
I really enjoyed reading this book and catching up with the fun group at Whiskey Creek. I loved how Maggie rights these characters as if you are catching up with friends and not just fictional characters. I love when an author can take a sassy horse or a mischief child and write it into the story and they just add that much more to the story. Maggie did not disappoint with the story. I liked how the author had kept this story on the clean side. There was a few strong words but over all everything was appropriate. I also enjoyed that the relationships in the booked didn't seem forced but very natural and super fun. I can't wait to read more from Maggie I just love this series.

She's Got a Way Maggie McGinnis

Description:

LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
Gabriela O’Brien is devoted to the girls at Briarwood Academy—even when their bad behavior earns them an entire summer at a remote campground in Echo Lake, Vermont. When the headmaster assigns Gabi to be their chaperone, how can she refuse? A long, hot summer with neither indoor plumbing nor wireless access might be just what she needs to get her own life in order…right?
Before Briarwood took over Camp Echo, Luke Magellan spent years there helping troubled boys. When four spoiled rich girls and their seemingly uptight den mother show up for the summer, it’s hard to hide his amusement as he watches them tackle the great outdoors. But it’s even tougher to resist the passion he sees in Gabi—especially when he learns about her past, and sees how much she cares about her students. Is this destined to be just a grownup version of a summer-camp romance—or can they find enough in common to build a love for all seasons?
“A new, witty voice in contemporary romance. Maggie McGinnis is gonna make you smile.”—Christie Craig, New York Times bestselling author
She's Got a Way is the third book in Maggie McGinnis' Echo Lake series!

My thoughts on the book:

Gabi is set for summer break and ready for a much two weeks off when all that changes in a blink of an eye, or shall I say a quick hotwire. Her four charges are plucked out of there so called"perfect" lives and with Gabi and they are  put in the middle of no where to teach them a lesson. No ones sure what that will be or if they will find out. But Gabi sure of one thing she just kissed her dream vacation good bye and she will teach these girls what they need to know and not let them be victims of there environments. Luke is pissed he just got word the camp is closed for the summer so that he can renovate for group of "snobby rich" people who have nothing better to do with there lives then take from those who don't have. Then he gets word he is having five people join him for the summer and he sets is mind that he has no intention of helping this housemom or her charges they dug their holes not they can live with it. Will he be able to get his list done or will wildlife and four mischievous girls and their housemom get in the way of his plans? One things for sure this is a summer no one is going to forget.
I loved this book and I just love this series. I don't think I can get enough of Maddie McGinnis books. I have never read anything of hers until this year and when I get my hands on them it seems like I can't put them down. She does an amazing way of keep the attention of the reader and having fun quirky characters that have a heart for not always doing whats right but seeing it and trying to. She did the same in this book, she knocks it out with this one. I really enjoyed the banter back in forth between the two main characters and Gabi's four charges. In this book there is the hint of adult situations and some language but its very mild making this a good book for the right age. I also enjoyed the fact that the situation between Luke and Gabi was a casual build up not a forced or unrealistic situation. You really can not go wrong with this book or the others in this series.

Once Upon a Cowboy Maggie McGinnis

What's the book about:
Yoga instructor Jessalyn Alcott radiates peace, calm, and serenity—on the outside. Inside, she still feels like the broken, desperate girl from the trailer park. She's got dark secrets she can't share, which is why she never lets her relationships go beyond the third date. But when she travels to the Whisper Creek dude ranch for a friend's wedding, Jess is enchanted by a cowboy whose deep blue eyes, dimpled smile, and rock-hard body make it tough to remember why she keeps running scared.

Cole Driscoll has struggled to find his place on a family ranch where he's always played second fiddle. His future might be uncertain, but he's sure of one thing: He wants Jess by his side. Easier said than done. When it comes to getting close, she's full of excuses, and he longs to fix the hurt he sees in her eyes. Now that she's at Whisper Creek, there's nothing he wants more than to break down the walls around her heart and heal her pain with the power of love.

My thoughts on the book:

Jessalyn has everything together on the outside. She is so happy to be going back to Whispering Creek and see her best friends and attending another wedding, but most excited to have a break and secretly see Cole. As she walking out the door the past comes and haunts her she thought she hid all that and left it in the past she never thought it would come and find her, now what is she going to do? Cole is really struggling with finding who he is, where he stands, and where he belongs. He is ready for this wedding to be over and have his ranch back. He is so excited to see Jess again but when she shows up he knows he's in trouble in more ways then one and he's ready to figure out Jess.
I loved this book, this is one of those book that with in the first page its starts off really good and just gets better with each page. There are some really tough issues dealt with and some not so fun topics but that only made the book that much better. There is so much chemistry and love in this book that you just want the book never to end. This book is so worth the read and is so enjoyable.
