When You Kiss Me Melinda Curtis

 Description:

USA Today Bestseller Melinda Curtis brings another installment of The Kissing Test, an irresistibly funny, secret identity, clean romantic comedy.

She’s a serious-minded academic…

Professor Violet Summer thinks of herself as the frumpy Summer sister who doesn’t go on adventures or fall for handsome strangers. Her idea of excitement is spending the summer at her family’s home in the Hamptons researching Shakespeare’s influence on modern literature.

He's made a vow to change his ways…

Texas oilman Cooper Pearson made a bet with his father that he could survive one summer without the family’s money or influence. Now he’s an anonymous hired-hand exercising horses at a Hamptons stable–far removed from his typical four-star summer vacation.

A chance meeting on the beach ignites a moment of excitement that Violet has experienced many times, but only in the musty pages she has studied. Will she have the courage to see how this real-life story ends?

If you enjoy secret identity movies like My Secret Billionaire or The Prince and Me, you’ll enjoy this full-length, clean romantic comedy with an HEA and no cliffhangers.

My Review:
Overall I like this story, I felt liked Grandma Dotty and Coop made this story for me. I was not a huge fan of Violet I felt like she came off as stuck, selfish and had a "better than you" attitude for most of the book. Coop was determined to make a better person of himself and be the person his dad saw him to be. I felt like was laid back but also had a big heart and wanted to leave people better than he found them he just wanted to find his place in the world. Now what can I say about Grandma Dotty she was the true star of this series so far she a pistol and truly wants nothing but the best for those she loves. She holds nothing back and will have you laughing so hard. I can't wait to see where the author take Maggie's story she seems to have a huge heart with big dreams. This book is a clean read so its suitable for all.

My Review:
I was not a huge fan of this book in the end. I felt like this book started off strong and then just tapered off. I really liked Isle she was full of spirit but my heart broke for her with the way her parents acted. I liked Theo as well I so wanted more of his story he seemed like he had such a big heart and really cared for those he loved. I found Levi to be a bit of a jerk and he was not my favorite. I did like Summer why she was running from her problems she was also finding herself and how to make a better life for her and those she loved. She was a fighter and would stop at nothing to protect those close to her. This is a clean read and suitable for all readers. Overall while I liked finding out more about The Blackwells this book just was not for me.

Beneath the Sapphire Sky Dakota Harrison

Description:
They've known each other for years...

Born and raised on adjacent family vineyards, and inseparable since childhood, there's not much Belle Davis and Dante Casellati don't know about each other. That crush Belle had on him in her teens? Dante knows about it. Dante's confirmed bachelor stance? Belle's heard it all before. And each believes the other is happy with the status quo.

Used to pushing aside her own dreams and desires out of duty to her ailing mother, Belle dismisses all hope of her and Dante ever being in the same place at the same time emotionally, until Dante's prodigal brother returns to Kurrajong Crossing and makes a play for her. Dante's jealousy finally prompts him to act on the attraction to Belle he's been ignoring for years. Taking their relationship one step further, life is bliss...until tragedy strikes Belle's family. As tensions rise and hope of a happy outcome fades fast, Belle’s guilt estranges her and Dante for the first time in their lives.

Can they salvage their love, or will harsh words and the fear of truly letting one another in ruin everything?

My Review:
So I have never read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. I did find the overall story a good and quick read. I did also feel like the characters in this story acted way younger then the author said there ages were. I liked Daunte and his family, but I felt like he didn't know what he wanted out of life. He seemed to not really have a care in the world yet he did care for those closest to him and would do anything for them. I liked Belle however I did find her on the immature side, she just wanted to live a little but act like someone in there 20's. I did feel like she had the whole world on her shoulders and didn't know what or how to truly handle it. There is adult content in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this was a fun read!

Cowboy on the Run Anne McAllister

  Description:
World's most eligible bachelor?

Gotta be a joke. Sure, he’s heir to a Montana ranching empire, but Rance Phillips has no intention of perpetuating the dynasty just because a lifestyle magazine and his meddling father are pushing brides-to-be down his throat. But when his path unexpectedly crosses Ellie O’Connor’s, he pulls up short.

Once his college sweetheart, strong-willed, stubborn Ellie is now a widowed mother of four. Four? Rance should be running for the hills. Instead he lingers, then settles in, determined to help save her family’s ranch for Josh, her eldest son.

Ellie doesn’t want help. She doesn’t want Rance! Well, actually she does. But he won't stay. Not forever.

So he needs to leave now. Before she falls for him again. Before her willpower crumbles. But mostly before Rance notices that Josh looks far too much like him!

My Review:
SO my favorite line in this story was "Last I heard homicide was illegal in Montana". I feel like when the characters are faced with some really tough subjects that author will throw in a line like this that will have you laughing. I like Rance he seemed like he had a big heart and sought out to do what was right even when it didn't make sense. I felt like Ellie was tough and strong yet also came off broken and just looking to hang in there for her kids. I will say there is adult topics and content that may not be suitable for all readers. Overall was a fun read.

 Description:

She thought he was arrogant. He thought her walls would never come down. Then they fell in love.

Forever walking the line between passion and conflict, Laurel and Gavin’s relationship ended in divorce after years of miscommunication and unmet expectations. Now pursuing their own separate lives and careers, the two are content . . . though not completely happy.

Putting their differences aside, the estranged couple search for a suitable guardian as they care for Emma and manage Mike and Mallory’s apple orchard.

Soon tempers flare—as does the passion they both remember so well. And Laurel and Gavin find themselves working through their past—their mistakes, their miscommunications, and ultimately the tragedy that ended their marriage.

Will the seeds of love, still growing inside them, thrive and flourish? Or will grief and regret strangle the feelings before they can fully blossom?

My Review:
This book was really good. There are so many emotions with this story. While it was tough to read sometimes, it was also hard to put down. I really like Gavin he faced a lot and took on all he lived in his pain but also tried to find a way to heal. Laurel came of super insecure throughout the book and it came of sometime as whiney. However she worked really hard to find healing in the pain. I felt this book was pretty original its not something you read about in christian fiction and it was very refreshing. I will say the author does switch back and forth from the present to the past and in the beginning it takes a minute to realize but you do catch on quick when the switch goes on. Overall this is a clean read and I would totally recommend its well worth the read.

A Cup of Autumn Melissa McClone

 Description:
He thought he had the perfect plan…

When elite university professor Keaton Andrews walks into a meeting with the dean, he expects to hear that his tenure application is on track. Instead, his beloved department is cut. Regrouping in Silver Falls with family seems like his best option. One morning, he takes a risk and orders a pumpkin spice latte from the beautiful barista at the local coffee shop. Too bad she doesn’t seem to find him nearly as intriguing as he finds her…

Raine Hanover is no longer swayed by a charming smile, especially by a nerdy—and distractingly handsome—academic. She’s taking a break from romance and focusing on running her increasingly busy coffee shop. But when Raine is involuntarily put in charge of organizing the town’s Halloween bash, Keaton jumps in to help, and it’s not long before sparks, and kisses, fly.

As the leaves begin to fall, Raine wonders if she should risk taking another chance on happily ever after, especially with a man who has dreams and goals so far away from Silver Falls and her.

My Review:
I really liked this book it was so cute. I loved Raine she knew what she wanted and would stop at nothing to fight to get it, she was someone who would do anything for those she loved. Without giving about to much, Keaton was more of a stick in the mud but you see him grow in this book and even in the end he still continues to learn. I loved the friendship between the five girlfriends they seemed more like sisters then best friends. The author kept this book clean so it will be suitable for all readers. Overall all I really enjoy this story so fun and worth the read.

Christmas Eve Cowboy Diana Palmer; Delores Fossen; Kate Pearce

 Description:
Snow is falling, and when it comes to love, so are these rugged, gorgeous cowboys, in a romantic holiday collection from three bestselling authors . . .

ONCE THERE WAS A LAWMAN * Diana Palmer
FBI agent Thomas Kincaid Jones has soured on love and Christmas, but Annalisa Davis could change all that. Except the lovely nurse isn’t looking to get involved with someone whose job requires a gun on his hip. And Tom has a case to solve that has nothing to do with love. Yet the spirit of the holidays just might spark a lifetime connection . . .

CHRISTMAS CREEK COWBOY * Delores Fossen
In Christmas Creek, Texas, folks go all out for the holidays, but Sheriff Calen Jameson is too busy commiserating about cheating exes with his best friend, Emmy Kendrick. Calen always thought their bond was too precious to risk, yet maybe it’s time to start making some changes . . . by firing up the heat with Emmy.

COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS * Kate Pearce
Lucy Smith thinks Santa has outdone himself when Caleb Erickson shows up at her B&B. In high school, Caleb was oblivious to her crush. But while they wait out a snowstorm, he’s discovering she may be the gift he never knew he wanted . . .

My Review:
Once There was a Lawman-
So this story starts the book off strong!  So with this story even though they just met it seemed to just work. The author made it seemed liked they had known each other forever and it didn't feel like the author was forcing it. I loved Annalisa she was feisty and she could hold her own she had the biggest heart for others.  I liked Tom he came off like a know it all at some times but his heart was int he right place! I would say this story out of all three was my favorite.

Christmas Creek Cowboy-
This story was so cute it had small town drama, it had best friends finding love and it had a cute baby with tons of surprises. I think in the end the only thing I was more of was Nessa and her story she felt like such a mystery that needed to be discovered. I really Liked Emmy she was a pistol. Calen he seem to have the towns problems on his shoulders but did not let that stop him from being a kind human to everyone.

Coming Home for Christmas-
This story was probably my least favorite out of all three stories. The story seemed more forced then organic. I did like Lucy she was full of sprit and a fighter but I just felt like she could have done better then Caleb. Caleb was ok but he came off very self centered. I also really liked Chip he was such a wise soul.

Overall the book was a fun read and very quick read even with three stories. Each story does contain adult content that may not be suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Texas Cowboy's Proposal Debra Holt

  Description:
They had a foolproof plan...until one little girl got involved.

Sammi Jo Burkitt's formidable grandmother's will is pushing Sammi Jo to the brink. Yes, the feisty cowgirl can keep the ranching empire known as Aces High, which has been the family birthright for two centuries, but she must marry her rival and stay married for three years as part of the deal. Say no, and Aces High goes on the auction block.

Beaudry Hawkes wants nothing to do with the high and mighty Burkitts. Until the day Sammi Jo shows up on his doorstep with a proposition no one in their right mind would refuse: wear her ring, then accept thousands of acres of rich ranch land and a tidy sum of three million dollars when they part ways. The windfall could change everything for his daughter's future.

But eight-year-old Lacy is becoming attached to the idea of one happy family. Nothing short of a true marriage between the two can make her dreams come true. Can Sammi Jo and Beaudry find their freedom and love too?

My Review:
This story was cute. I loved Lacy she was so adorable in this book she was wise beyond her years for sure. I loved Sammi Jo as well she is not who she seems in a good way and she was a true pistol/fighter but she knew the most important thing in life and she knew that not everything come from money. I did not like Beaudry I just felt he was a big jerk and I felt like Sammi JO deserved so much more then him. I was a huge fan of Jaxson and Matt they had so much more sense and so much more sassiness they took a serious situation and had you laughing! Overall this was a fun book and semi clean.
