Falling in Love at Pennycress Inn Sarah Hope

Description:

Perfect cosy escape for fans of Jessica Redland, Rachael Lucas and Phillipa Ashley!

Is this just a summer romance or could it be more? ðŸ’•

Nicola grew up at Pennycress Inn, in the beautiful Cotswold village of Meadowfield, and now she’s come full circle by landing a job there. After a difficult few months, she’s happy to be back in the place she loves and calls home.

The whole village is looking forward to the annual summer carnival, and Nicola is charged with asking the local farmers to lend their tractors and trailers for the occasion. It’s an easy task – until she meets the new owner of Little Mead Farm, who stubbornly refuses to help.

On sabbatical from his City job for the summer, Charlie wants to do up his late uncle’s farm and put it on the market as soon as possible. The place might have been in his family for generations but country life is simply not for him. He has no time for whatever the villagers are up to.

When Nicola and Charlie meet, sparks fly – and unexpected feelings grow. Soon there’s more at stake in Meadowfield than the success of the carnival. But whatever happens between them, this is just a summer romance… isn’t it?

My Review:
This is a new to me author and I really found this story cute. It gave Gilmore girl vibes but a twist of its own. I did feel it dragged a little bit here and there but overall it was a really fun read. I liked Nicola she was not about to put up with any ones stuff and she had a big heart always wanting to help those in her small town and those she cares for. Charlie was grumpy but deep down had a heart that just was protected by a big wall. I really liked Jill and Laura they are so sweet and the best friends a girl could have. I did not read the first story but I want to go after reading this to see what the characters were all up to. The author kept this book a clean read so suitable for all readers.

Playing for Keeps in Starr's Fall Kate Hewitt

     Description:

As the frozen earth gives way to the first spring crocuses, pushing their way into the warmer air, Maggie arrives in Starr’s Fall. She’s looking for a new start, with her lovable but painfully shy teenaged son in tow.

It feels like the odds are against her, but she’s determined to come out winning this time, and to fulfil her dream of opening up a board game café. But not everything’s a game, and when she finds herself attracted to a man who’s known as a different sort of player, she worries she’s setting herself up to lose.

Zach is funny, surprisingly geeky, and, most importantly, bonds with her son. But Zach is also drop-dead gorgeous, has a reputation around town, and is also ten years younger than her.

When he asks her out on a date, Maggie is totally thrown. She can’t deny she’s attracted to him. But is she ready to risk her heart with another roll of the dice?

A totally gorgeous, unmissable, small town romance, perfect for fans of the Gilmore Girls andVirgin River, from million-copy bestselling author, Kate Hewitt.

My Review:

This is a new author to me, and I enjoyed the story overall—it was a fun read. However, I did find that Maggie came across as more immature than her 40 years, acting in ways that didn't always match her age throughout much of the story. I really liked Zac, though. He didn’t put up with a lot from others, yet he had the biggest heart when it came to helping those in need—not just people he knew, but anyone who needed a helping hand, including a teenage boy looking for a friend. I loved the small-town feel of the story and the sense of community that Maggie and Ben joined. I also really liked Annie and hope her story gets told next; she has such a friendly, kind spirit about her. She had a gift for calling out things that didn’t seem right or didn’t feel right, seeing situations clearly and speaking up. The author kept this book a clean read, making it suitable for all readers.

Cowboy on the Run Anne McAllister

  Description:
World's most eligible bachelor?

Gotta be a joke. Sure, he’s heir to a Montana ranching empire, but Rance Phillips has no intention of perpetuating the dynasty just because a lifestyle magazine and his meddling father are pushing brides-to-be down his throat. But when his path unexpectedly crosses Ellie O’Connor’s, he pulls up short.

Once his college sweetheart, strong-willed, stubborn Ellie is now a widowed mother of four. Four? Rance should be running for the hills. Instead he lingers, then settles in, determined to help save her family’s ranch for Josh, her eldest son.

Ellie doesn’t want help. She doesn’t want Rance! Well, actually she does. But he won't stay. Not forever.

So he needs to leave now. Before she falls for him again. Before her willpower crumbles. But mostly before Rance notices that Josh looks far too much like him!

My Review:
SO my favorite line in this story was "Last I heard homicide was illegal in Montana". I feel like when the characters are faced with some really tough subjects that author will throw in a line like this that will have you laughing. I like Rance he seemed like he had a big heart and sought out to do what was right even when it didn't make sense. I felt like Ellie was tough and strong yet also came off broken and just looking to hang in there for her kids. I will say there is adult topics and content that may not be suitable for all readers. Overall was a fun read.

A Cup of Autumn Melissa McClone

 Description:
He thought he had the perfect plan…

When elite university professor Keaton Andrews walks into a meeting with the dean, he expects to hear that his tenure application is on track. Instead, his beloved department is cut. Regrouping in Silver Falls with family seems like his best option. One morning, he takes a risk and orders a pumpkin spice latte from the beautiful barista at the local coffee shop. Too bad she doesn’t seem to find him nearly as intriguing as he finds her…

Raine Hanover is no longer swayed by a charming smile, especially by a nerdy—and distractingly handsome—academic. She’s taking a break from romance and focusing on running her increasingly busy coffee shop. But when Raine is involuntarily put in charge of organizing the town’s Halloween bash, Keaton jumps in to help, and it’s not long before sparks, and kisses, fly.

As the leaves begin to fall, Raine wonders if she should risk taking another chance on happily ever after, especially with a man who has dreams and goals so far away from Silver Falls and her.

My Review:
I really liked this book it was so cute. I loved Raine she knew what she wanted and would stop at nothing to fight to get it, she was someone who would do anything for those she loved. Without giving about to much, Keaton was more of a stick in the mud but you see him grow in this book and even in the end he still continues to learn. I loved the friendship between the five girlfriends they seemed more like sisters then best friends. The author kept this book clean so it will be suitable for all readers. Overall all I really enjoy this story so fun and worth the read.

Accidentally Perfect by Marissa Clarke

 Description:
Workaholic Lillian Mahoney has given everything to her job. The hugely popular lifestyle show she helped create monopolizes her time, energy, creativity, and anything remotely resembling a life. But all it takes is the show’s womanizing, egomaniac star throwing a massive hissy on live TV to utterly implode Lillian’s career in a New York minute.

Now Lillian’s hiding out in the gorgeous and completely unknown seaside village of Blink, Maine. Out of gas. A stolen wallet. A broken heel. And worse, she’s somehow managed to completely piss off the town’s resident hunk, Caleb Wright. She’ll show that hot, grumpy single father
exactly what she’s made of.

But Blink isn’t quite what Lillian expects—and neither is Caleb...or his feisty teen daughter she can't help but love. And while her entire life and career are in shreds, Lillian might just discover what happens when she gives her bad first impression a second chance…

My Review:
So this is a new to me author and I have to say I really enjoyed this book. In the very beginning I will say I kind of rolled my eyes (I don't read the descriptions). and thought oh great another rich girl story who's untouched with reality. I was so far off base and I am glad I gave it a chance. Lillian puts her best foot forward in everything she does and was a totally hard head and would not let the words, no or can't stop her. I liked how she seemed like she would take the world on and leave it in a better place. I liked Caleb even though in the beginning I would have liked to ask if his mama taught him any manners oh boy. The are quite a few sub characters that personalities just jumped off the pages and you really wanted to know more about them. Overall I really like this book and I don't know if this is a series but I want to much for from the small town of Blink. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Sweetheart Deal Miranda Liasson

  Description:
From the bestselling author of the Angel Falls series, two enemies say “I do” in the first irresistible book about Blossom Glen.

Pastry chef Tessa Montgomery knows what everyone in the teeny town of Blossom Glen says about her. Spinster. Ice Queen. Such a shame. It’s enough to make a woman bake her troubles away, dreaming of Parisian delicacies while she makes bread at her mother’s struggling boulangerie. That is until Tessa’s mortal enemy—deliciously handsome (if arrogant) chef Leo Castorini, who owns the restaurant next door—proposes a business plan…to get married.

Leo knows that the Castorinis and the Montgomerys hate each other, but a marriage might just force these stubborn families to work together and blend their businesses for success. The deal is simple: Tessa and Leo marry, live together for six months, and then go their separate ways. Easy peasy.

It’s a sweetheart deal where everyone gets what they want—until feelings between the faux newlyweds start seriously complicating the mix. Have they discovered the perfect recipe for success…or is disaster on the way?

My Review:
I thought this book was super cute. I liked Tessa she was super independent and knew what she wanted but struggled to know how to get there but still be there for her family. Early on in the book I so wanted to slap her sisters but the more I read I was so glad that they were more active in Tessa's life. Leo on the other hand had to grow on me, I felt like early on he was stuck up and a punk but like the sisters the more I read the author has away of making you see the best in all the characters. I liked how nothing was going to stop these two from doing what was right for their families. Overall I would totally recommend this book, it just was a fun read and was hard to put down.

Montana Christmas Magic Kaylie Newell

 Description:

Can a rescue dog help two lost souls find love at Christmas?

All accountant Griffin Cole wants for Christmas is stability. After spending his childhood traveling the world with his one-hit wonder rocker dad, he loves his quiet and unremarkable life in Marietta. Then the beautiful Raelyssa Woods knocks on his door. Her bold spirit immediately turns his predictable life upside down, and suddenly Griffin wants to ask Santa for so much more.

Rae Woods loves running her café in the small Montana town she calls home. She specializes in comfort food because she loves spreading joy to everyone she meets—two-footed or four. But after she impulsively takes in a homeless dog she names Noel, her big heart lands her in bigger trouble when her landlord threatens to toss her out. Grasping at holiday straws, she remembers a cute accountant who owes her a favor—and she happens to know he’s got a fenced yard and hidden soft spot.

When Griffin reluctantly agrees to foster Noel, he inadvertently sets in motion several Christmas miracles that neither he nor Rae could have ever seen coming.

My thoughts on the book:

I loved Noel the author did a great job at her personality just jumping off the pages. I really liked Rae she just had such a big heart and she just seems like someone you would love to know. Griffin has his problems but in this story he felt just as equal as a hero in this story. I really liked the small town story of this book it makes you picture yourself there. I liked the relationship with the brothers even though they didn't appear a whole lot they seemed like no matter what they were always there for each other. Over all this was a fun and quick read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Can a cupcake café owner find true love with Mr. Hot Holt Barbecue?

My thoughts on the book:

I found this story so cute. I honestly have no idea how the author wrote this book and not eat while writing, I was reading and getting to hungry. Everything she described in the book it felt like I was either right there or could totally picture it happening, I loved that because it just made you feel like you were right there. I really loved the relationship with Holt and his family and how he wore his heart on his sleeve. I really enjoyed Kayla for the same reason but also because she was vulnerable. I  have not read the first book in the series but I totally want too after reading this one and I can't wait to see what the three friends are up to in the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Chasing the Runaway Bride Susan Meier, Donovan Brothers #2

Description:

When Marine-turned-rancher, Cade Donovan, inherits his grandfather’s grocery store, he has no choice except to return home. A couple problems with that:

1) The small, gossiping town still doesn’t know the real reason Cade left twelve years ago.

2) For some reason, his grandfather added an unexpected detail to the will – Cade has to share ownership with Piper O’Riley.

The O’Rileys and the Donovans have been at each other’s throats ever since Cade’s grandfather won the store in a poker game. And now Cade has to share his inheritance with the enemy? The gorgeous, tempting, all-grown-up enemy...

After ditching two fiancés at the altar, Piper’s earned a reputation as the town’s runaway bride. Ironically, Piper is woefully inexperienced with men. Her attraction to Cade and working side-by-side with him is torture. By day, it’s non-stop-bickering, but at night, she can’t stop imagining all the delicious things Cade could teach her.

With the family grudge and the secret of why Cade really left town between them, there’s no way they could ever be together. Right?

The Donovan Brothers series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order:
Book #1 Her Summer with the Marine
Book #2 Chasing the Runaway Bride
Book #3 Head Over Heels for the Boss

My thoughts on the book:

This book was a fun read kind of original in a round about way. The storyline is really good keeps your attention and draws you in. Piper at first seems to be this wallflower who is trying to stay behind the scenes because she has had enough gossip about her. However you almost see her grow with in the pages which was refreshing in away, she lets her stubborn side show in the beginning and that is something that's through out. Cade, he is just plain cocky I wasn't sure about him at first but he really does grow on you as you read the story. I loved the small town, the crazy characters and the gossip just sums up about every small town there ever is. I loved how close the brothers are an how they will not stop at anything to protect those they love. This book has sex scenes in it so it may not be suitable for all. Overall I felt this was a fun quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

And maybe, just maybe, fall in love with a Highlander. But when the games are over, where do they go from here?

“Laura Trentham creates a romance that is both extremely sensual and phenomenal.”
Fresh Fiction

My thoughts on the book:

This book was super cute read. If I had describe it I would say it's like a fairy tale with a twist. I really loved the relationship between Isabel and Rose and I also loved the small town, as someone who grew up in a small town it was very easy to relate to the characters and the fun in the town. The author had a way or making you feel like you were right there in the mix of everything. I really enjoyed Alasdair and Gaerth as well the relationship was more of a parent child which was wonderful to read. This book was super hard to put down. I will say there is so adult language/ situations in the book so may not be suitable for all readers. That being said the chemistry truly jumped off the pages and unlike so book did not seem forced but very natural. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. A Dash of Love Jill Sanders- Pride Oregon #1

Description:
Head back to Pride Oregon to find out what some of your favorite Jill Sanders’ characters are up to.

Sara Jordan has finally been given the chance to run The Golden Oar, a restaurant that’s been in her family for generations. But the sexy know-it-all carpenter that her uncle hired to make some changes, keeps getting in her way. She’ll have to use all her skills just to prove that she’s up to the task.

Parker was hired to bring new life to the old building, but he hadn’t expected sparks to fly from the owner’s niece. As a series of mysterious accidents start to plague the job site, he finds himself working one-on-one with the temptress to avoid losing everything.

My thoughts on the book:

When you have lost everything why not start over, in Pride OR where they take pride in all the do. This book was so fun I thought this book was going to be just your traditional love story only to have the author to add some suspense to it. What I liked about this suspense book it was built up the author didn't just through it out all at once. I love how with Sara's family it was just that all about family and town pride and all about being there for each other no matter what. I love how they included others in to make them "family" too. I felt like I was catching up with friends truly, this book is not a group of perfect people but a group of imperfect people who loved each other. There is some adult language, This book to was a quick read and oh so good.

Dear Santa Nancy Naigle

They’ve weathered over sixty tourist seasons, major hurricanes, and urban sprawl, in their old decommissioned lighthouse. But the national chain that set up shop in their small North Carolina town of Pleasant Sands may be more than Heart of Christmas can survive.

Encouraged by her niece to ask Santa for help through the Dear Santa app, Angela gives in and lets the words fly in a way that, if Santa were real, would no doubt land her on the naughty list. What’s the harm when it’s just a computer-generated response?

Geoff Paisley has been at his mother’s side running the mega-chain Christmas Galore for the last ten years. When his mother falls ill, Geoff promises to answer the Dear Santa letters in her stead. Soon he realizes the woman he’s been corresponding with on Dear Santa is Angela. How could the woman that grates his every last nerve in person have intrigued him so deeply through those letters?

When Geoff reveals that he’s her Dear Santa, will Angela be able to set aside their very public feud to embrace the magic of the holiday and possibly find true love?

My thoughts on the book:

I was super in the middle with this book, there were parts I liked and others not so much. Maybe its was just me but in the beginning of he book Marie came of super conceded and seem to look her nose down at there sister. I also felt in the first portion of the book the author seemed to repeat herself and spend a lot of time on one thing but then it became rushed in the end. I did really enjoy the small town and how no matter what the town seem to rally around people. I loved how in the end of the day Marie and her husband stood by Angela and supported her, and I loved how Geoff came across as a hard soul but also had a heart for him mom and those close to him. The book is a good clean read, and its the perfect book to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Feels Like the First Time Marina Adair- Destiny Bay #2

Description:
What's wrong with a little white lie?

There are a lot of things Ali Marshal doesn't do: pink anything, a day without chocolate, and Hawk, her sister's ex-husband. Sure, he's a sexy former NHL star who can make her pulse pound with just a wink. But he belonged to Bridget first. And no matter how long she's had a crush on him, how great he's always been to her dad, or that her sister is engaged to someone else now and Ali needs a date to their engagement party, she can't give in to temptation. Can she?

It's been years since his disastrous marriage crashed and burned, and Bradley Hawk has finally moved on. So when Bridget blows back into town with her new fiancé, throwing the engagement party of the year, he could care less . . . until Ali tells one little lie that lands him smack dab in a fake relationship. After one promise to be Ali's date and two of the hottest kisses he's ever had, Hawk can't deny how much he wants her. But what happens when this fauxmance starts to feel very, very real?

My thoughts on the book:
Ali is not always the girly girl everyone, her sister and mother mainly wants her to be, but she loves her chocolate, her dad  and loves her friendship with Hawk more then anything. When her sister comes back into town on the night of one of Ali's biggest nights and she hopes that one lie to her will get her going back where she came from.  Hawk can only handle one Marshal sister at a time they both have explosive personalities and he goes along with the crazy plan Ali comes up with but hers just not sure what he's thinking. He is ready to put his ex in the past and move on in the future. Will Ali be able to show love and keep those around her happy or will it all finally come crashing down?

The biggest thing that comes to mind about this book is "coming home". I have fallen in love with the town Destiny Bay the small town feel the way everyone has each others back and the gossip. There is a ton of chemistry coming off the pages and a ton of fun through out. There is some strong language and adult scenes through out. The storyline is well written and totally enjoyable. Totally worth the read you can't go wrong.

Reunion Pass Emily March

What's the book about:

Six years ago, Chase Timberlake bought an engagement ring for his high school sweetheart Lori Reese. Then...life happened. Chase’s adventure photography career took off, Lori’s dream of getting into veterinary school came true, and their happily ever after never came to pass.
When Chase’s jet-setting life takes a tragic turn, he returns to Eternity Springs a damaged man. Who better to help mend his spirit than the woman who has dedicated her life to healing broken wings? Long summer days spent together rekindles the love that never died and Chase dares to dream of a future he’d thought lost. But Lori can’t help but wonder whether this high-flying man really wants a small-town girl with roots sunk deep into the Colorado Rockies. Can she and Chase turn back the hands of time and pick up where they left off—and give forever a chance?

My thoughts on the book:
Six years ago Chase and Lori let life get away from them and separate what was a good thing. Now Lori has finished school and started her on vet clinic when Chase comes to town with his now fiancé and she now knows all the hope of getting back together is gone. When tragedy strikes and bring Chase home he pushes everyone away that matters and knows he needs to get out of this town before he drags more people down with him. He just can't seem to let go of the small town where he feels like home. With Lori's roots dug deep and Chase only on the surface will Lori be able to help Chase or will it all be to late.
I found this book addictive and hard to put down, had to keep turning pages just to find out what happens. Such a sweet love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leaving wanting more. It reminds you to always live life to the fullest cause you never know what tomorrow holds. There is nothing about this book I did not like such a sweet and powerful book totally enjoyable. If you are looking to be sucked into a small town with some wonderful funny characters that feel like you are going home then this is the book for you and you won't regret it.
