Maybe This Summer Jennifer Snow Colorado Ice Series

Description:
Always a wingman . . .

Owen McConnell is used to being ignored. After all, it's only when he appears as the Colorado Avalanche's team mascot that he gets all the attention. When the costume is off, women tend to gravitate toward his famous hockey player friends. But after he meets lovely, damaged Paige Adams, he knows he can be the star player for her. She's raising funds for the hospital burn unit, and Owen's determined to help her out---and sweep her off her feet.

The burn unit has been near and dear to Paige's heart ever since the doctors helped her after a vicious attack. Yet the scars---both emotional and physical---haven't faded as much as she'd hoped. She's closed herself off from relationships, and the thought of opening up is terrifying. But Owen's sexy charm might be just the push Paige needs to start loving again.

My thoughts on the book:
He seems to always be over shadowed by his "hot" looking friends, as they are slowing going off the market Owen realizes he just might not find the "one". When he goes to a meeting and he runs into the women of his dreams he starts to wonder if Love at first sight is real.
Paige is not looking for anything from anyone unless they can help her with the kids in her burn unit. When she comes face to face with Owen he make her "feel". Something she hasn't done in ages. Can she come out of her shell and start believing in her self?
I love this series of books. I can't wait to dive into the other books. This group of friends and family just have a way of getting to the heart of the matter and making you enjoy the books. This book though short didn't feel like it was missing anything. I really enjoyed the way the author does not even try to make any of the character in the book perfect but all of them have flaws and heartache. This book does have adult scene in it, not graphic but its there, other then that it was nice to read a book were not every other word was a curse word. This was a quick read and so worth it. I think this series would be a fun summer read for anyone.

Beware the Ranger Debra Holt

Description:
Twelve years ago, Kaitlyn Russell had a dream: living happily ever after with Clay Morgan. Except her grandmother had bigger plans for her beloved granddaughter and they didn't include life in the small town of McKenna Springs as the wife of a young, poor deputy. Kaitlyn's heart was broken when Clay and her grandmother convinced her to pursue her second love, Broadway stardom.

Texas Ranger Clay Morgan is a widower with a young son to raise. A dozen years before, he had to make the most difficult decision of his life when he agreed to let go of the only woman he'd ever loved so that she could pursue her dreams.

Now, fate and an old woman’s guilty conscience conspire to bring Clay and Kaitlyn back together once more. Will they be able to lay the past to rest and rekindle their love from the ashes?

My thoughts on the book:

Kaitlyn went to New York to follow her dream? She is on a road trip with her best friend and is summoned home for her grandmother and she is not happy about going back to the one place she never wanted to go back to and come face to face she wants to never see again. Clay has been in love with one girl his whole life but for the best of all involved he watched her walk away. When 12 years go by and he is now forced to face a past he would rather leave in the past he knows he can control his emotions and set everything aside to help gram. But will the past be to much for both of them?

I loved this fun cowboy story. I really enjoyed reading this sweet love story. They both seemed to skirt around the biggest issue throughout the book, but the chemistry between them really popped through out the story. There is no strong language in this book however there is a some adult talk in the book, other then that its a good clean read. I am excited to know more of Angie's story. Also there is one issue in the that I was not sure were were ever going to find out that happened however you do find out and its not what you think which was fun since it added another twist in an already fun story. If you are looking for a fun love story with lots of heartbreak and healing or over all just a fun love story you won't be disappointed.

A Stardance Summer Emily March Eternity Springs series

Description:

Return to the beloved small town of Eternity Springs in the newest installment of Emily March’s New York Times bestselling series with A Stardance Summer.

Sometimes the end of one roadBrick Callahan enjoys every minute of chaos at his campground, Stardance Ranch, especially after the Tornado Alleycats arrive for an extended summer stay. The members of the all-female glamorous camping club are primarily seniors—active and adventurous, friendly and fun. But when he discovers Liliana Howe frolicking with the glamping grannies in a late night skinny-dipping session, he fears he's in for a summer of trouble. Because his best friend's kid sister has grown up to be drop-dead gorgeous.
. . .is the start of another
Betrayed by those she trusted, Lili decides she's put her career first for too long. She sells her practical sedan, buys a travel trailer, and heads to Eternity Springs for a summer of rest, relaxation, and reassessment as the newest member of the Alleycats. The last person she expects to find running an RV resort is her high school crush. Their undeniable mutual attraction is a reminder that life is full of surprises. But when the past comes calling, will their summer romance stand the test of time?

My thoughts on the book:
Lili has hit a rough spot in her career and in her life when she reaches out to those close and doesn't get the response she expected she knows its time to take a break from reality and find herself. Will this adventure with the Alleycats lead to the answers she is seeking or will it leave her lost and wanting more? Brick is on the mend of a broken heart. He has opened his own Glamping/camping and it seems the popular spot he's in a good place with his family and his friends but he wants just a little bit more and he's not sure what that looks like. When the Alleycats take over his campground for the summer he comes face to face with a person from his past he starts to question everyone. Will he find the healing he needs or is he better off alone?
I love these books by Emily March and this book did not disappoint. This book has a bunch of nosey matchmakers who just so happen to be grandma's out enjoying retirement and the summer. I didn't know my grandma but I would think we would all want grandmas like them. I really loved how even though there were a bunch of people interacting with main characters the author didn't feel the need to name them all and make it confusing and hard to keep up, it made the story easy to follow yet added a fun element to the story. I enjoyed the family element in the story as well it made you want to meet them all and hang out with them. It truly made you feel like these characters were friends and family, not just a fictional story. There is a few curse words and the mention of adult scenes in the book so it may not be suitable for all ages, but this book was a super fun read. I think the only thing I didn't like was I wanted more about Patsy in the end. I hope Josh's story is coming he was a huge part of this story and I wanted to know more of his story.

Primrose Lane Debbie Mason Harmony Harbor #3

Description:
Love is the best medicine
Olivia Davenport has finally gotten her life back together. She's left her painful past behind, started over in a new town, and become Harmony Harbor's most sought-after event planner. But her past catches up to her when Olivia learns that she's now guardian of her ex's young daughter. With her world spinning, Olivia must reconcile her old life with her new one. And she doesn't have time for her new next door neighbor, no matter how handsome he is.

Olivia may act like she's got everything under control, but Dr. Finn Gallagher knows a person in over her head when he sees one. He'd really like to be the shoulder she leans on, but Olivia makes it clear she doesn't want his help. Since he's returned to town, his waiting room has been full of single women feigning illness. Yet the one woman he's interested in is avoiding him. But with a little help from some matchmaking widows and a precocious little girl, Finn might just win Olivia over.

My thoughts on the book:
Olivia has been keeping a big secret from her new friends and painful past she would rather leave in the past. When the day is looming and she is forced to come face to face with the past. Can she deal with the past and seek out a future with her ex's daughter, or does someone else have other plans? Finn is home recovering from an injury, if he can just stay away from Olivia he just might be able to get back to Congo and the work there. He is still dealing with the past and it seems his family has other plans for him. Can he heal and get back to being a Dr. or will his family get their way when his healing is in question?
I love this series. I really enjoy these characters, the family and close friends who seem to become like family. This book doesn't disappoint with Olivia dealing with a past and some secrets that she would rather keep in the past the author keeps you guessing on whats going to happen next. There are twist and turns throughout this book with both Olivia and Finn. I like (or I am assuming) how the author is already building up at the end for the next book. I did not like Finn at first but he quickly grows on you.  I enjoy Colleen and Jaspers they are my favorite. There is some strong language in the book while minimal the book over all is super fun.  The other thing I like about this book as well as the other books in the series is there is an element of suspense to the book its not the whole story line but there is something always brewing in the back ground, your waiting to see where that is going to come into play next along the way and keeps you guess in a whole other way. I can't wait for more from this author.

Not My First Rodeo 2 boxed set by Donna Alward, Jenna Bayley-Burke, Sarah M. Anderson

Description:

In Donna Alward’s Seducing the Sheriff, Cassidy’s first foray into online dating is an unqualified disaster. Witness to a bank robbery, she’s now in danger. Sexy sheriff Joe Lawson is willing do whatever it takes to protect her, even if that means hiding her away in his secluded mountain cabin.

In Roping the Rancher by Sarah M. Anderson, all Tommy knows is girls his own age don’t do it for him. Carly has no interest in being anyone’s cougar, but when Tommy says he’ll do whatever she tells him to, she can’t resist the chance to take what she wants from a man with no strings attached. But no one said anything about scarves...

In Jenna Bayley-Burke’s Captivating the Cowboy, aspiring designer Jules is about to head to New York. Before she leaves, she’s going to help widower Slade Weston find the perfect ranch wife, but finding his forever turns into schmexytimes. Jules doesn’t want to be a wife and mom, and Slade isn’t moving across the country. It’s just a fling, until she’s not sure where she truly belongs.

My thoughts on the book:

Suducing the Sheriff-
Cassie is a independent strong headed person who's been hurt and is not ready for love. Joe has been set up on another blind date his sister chose only to realize maybe the person he wants is someone who's been there the whole time. These two have to battle their demons through the book and it keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. They have this natural chemistry with each other but don't know what to do with it. The story is super fun read and just sucks you in to the small town feel and I love that. I love novellas but I wanted just a little more of there story seemed a little rushed towards the end, but a super fun read for sure. If  I was rating just this story I would give it a 4 star.

Captivating the Cowboy-
Jules just wants to belong and have family but she is also wants to further her career. When things take a turn and start to get interesting she holds her ground. Slade is on the hunt to find a wife now it's summer that put on hold everyone knows how busy a ranch can be. Will they be able to find hope for a future when everything else seems against them? The author did not disappoint with Jules, Jules is a firecracker through and through and the author did a good job and making her a strong take no prisoners while giving her a soft side too. At first I found the story lacking but that did change pretty quickly and it really drew you in.  I loved the small town feel each on of these stories has offered to far. If I was rating just this story I would give it a 4 star.

Roping the rancher -
Carly is years out of a bad relationship and she ready to find someone new. She just never thought it would be in the one place she said she would never find someone. Tommy is weeks away from graduating college and he's ready for a new adventure. He's sick of the same ol same ol girls so he wants to find something/someone different. Can they both find what they are looking for? Out of all three stories this one was my least favorite. The story seem to be lacking something I can't seem to put my finger on it. I wasn't a fan of either of the characters. Carly came from broken and that part of the story was pretty powerful but that seemed to be the only way to connect with any of the characters. If I was rating just this story I would give it a 2 star.

Over all the group of books were fun to read for each of their own reasons they all are looking for love and hope to find it in the least likely places. Each on was done in a small town and in the first 2 stories they had some quirky characters and it was super fun and added to the over all story. Each story has strong language and adult scenes some more then others. Fun summer read for sure.

Run With the Wind Judy DuCharme - A Cowboy Christmas

Description:
Linney Merritt loves her life in the Florida scrub where she assists her Pa in raising and taking cattle to market. The new cowman, Cyrus John, appreciates the chance to start over. Marrying holds no interest for either, but they can’t help but be drawn to each other. And then, just before Christmas, they find themselves fighting together to save the life of a calf, all while discovering the One who can remove fears and provide forgiveness.
My thoughts on the book:

Linney lives at home and helps her dad with the farm. With her mom gone and a new hand on the ranch Linney starts to wonder if the chooses she has set in her head are the right was when her heart questions everything. Cy is heading towards home when his cousin gives him a heads up about a job. When Cy keeps a secret close to his heart it seems he is forced to come face to face with his fears. Will they both be able to over come their fears?
I have never read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. This book was short but packed an amazing story. Its placed during probably 1800 or early 1900s but there wasn't that historical feel to it, which was nice. I loved all the active characters in this book. I loved the names and the back and forth and I loved how Linney was an independent women but also was not afraid to seek help when needed. I loved her love for animals and how the characters enjoyed talking to them which allowed the personalities to shine out and make for a fun element in the story. I loved how this was a super clean read and I think the only downside or upside depends how you look at it was in the end I wanted more from these characters I wanted to know more and see more played out, but it ended perfectly.

Beach House for Rent Mary Alice Monroe- The Beach house Series #4

Description:
New York Times bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe returns to her beloved Isle of Palms to tell the poignant, charming story of two women, one summer, and one very special beach house.
When Cara Rutledge rents out her quaint beach house on Isle of Palms to Heather Wyatt for the entire summer, it’s a win-win by any standard: Cara’s generating income necessary to keep husband Brett’s ecotourism boat business afloat, and anxiety-prone Heather, an young artist who’s been given a commission to paint birds on postage stamps, has a quiet space in which to work and tend to her pet canaries uninterrupted.
It isn’t long, however, before both women’s idyllic summers are altered irrevocably: the alluring shorebirds—and the man who rescues them—begin to draw Heather out of the shell she’s cultivated toward a world of adventure, and maybe even love; at the same time, Cara’s life reels with sudden tragedy, and she wishes only to return to the beach house that had once been her port amidst life’s storms. When Heather refuses to budge from her newfound sanctuary, so begins the unlikeliest of rooming situations. While they start out as strangers, as everything around the women falls apart they learn that the only thing they can really rely on is each other.
And, like the migrating shorebirds that come to the island for the summer, these two women of different generations must rediscover their unique strengths so by summer’s end they, too, can take flight in ways they never imagined possible.

My thoughts on the book:

Cara and Heather are the main characters in this book each is living a life with guilt and grief each for there own reasons. At first I was not sure what to think of this book. I think like some books this one is one were you really enjoyed some of the book and other parts you didn't like so much. The first few chapters the author explained a lot of details and each characters lives and not a lot of monologue which caused the book to start off kind of slow.. However after that the chapters changed and people really started to be add to the story which seemed to bring the life in the story. The characters were fun and enjoyable and then you find yourself connecting with them and really feeling like you are reading a letter from a friend. I really enjoyed Heather and how in her hardest time she still found hope, and courage in the most unlikely place and people. I did not like how in part of the story the author did not follow up with a huge part in Heather's life, I kept wanting to know what happened. This book does have some adult language/scenes but very minimal and over all it was nice.  I would say that this love story is worth the read and so fun.

Deep Waters Jessica R. Patch (Security Specialists #1)

Description:

DUTY TO PROTECT
Thirty feet underwater when her oxygen tank fails, Caley Flynn fears it's been sabotaged—and she'll be the next to die. Her intern's already dead, her home breached and something's amiss at her Florida marine-life rescue center…but no one believes she's in danger. Except Shepherd Lightman. When Caley's brother asked him to check on her, the marine turned security specialist hoped it would be a case of calming down a nervous veterinarian. But the threats are all too real. Rescuing Caley and remaining alive isn't easy, but resisting his boss's sister is where the real danger lies. Because with his heart in the balance, he'll do whatever it takes to stop a killer who's desperate to keep a secret hidden.

My thoughts on the book:

Carly stumbled into something she's not sure where to turn so she reaches out to her brother knowing her will know what to do. However the last thing she expected was for her to send someone to "baby- sit" her. But when comes to protecting those she loves and her turtles she's take what she can. Shepard would rather be anywhere other then helping Carly, but he will do anything her can to help and protect her. Will the two be able to protect themselves and there hearts?
If I could give this book 6 oh heck 10 stars I would. This book was truly amazing, I felt like I was on this "roller coaster" of suspense and not knowing where the next twist or turn was coming from. From the very first page to the very last one the author kept you guessing and drawn in, I remember in the end think I was not ready for the book to end. I really enjoyed the love from Mrs. Whittle oh how I wish we could be all so lucky to have her in our lives. I loved how the chemistry in the book between the characters just seemed organic it didn't seemed forced by the author. Truly if you are looking for a super fun suspense book then grab this one you won't regret it.

Love on the Wild Side Mariah Ankenman - Peak Town Colorado series #2

Description:

For Elizabeth Hayworth, tiny Peak Town, Colorado is a far cry from her life in L.A., but working at her best friend’s cupcake shop makes her think things are pretty darn good. Until she’s forced to spend time with said best friend’s grumpy future brother-in-law.

Dade Denning takes the hard work of running a horse ranch seriously. What he can’t take seriously is his future sister-in-law’s flighty best friend. Lizzy is everything he’s not—flirty, outgoing, and loud. The woman just rubs him the wrong way. So why does he fantasize about rubbing her the right way?

When circumstances force the two together, sparks fly and passion ignites. But sometimes the wildest love can burn too bright and the consequences can leave a lasting impression.
My thoughts on the book:

Lizzy is in Peak Town Colorado to help her friend out why she is unable to work. She has really lost nothing coming but its a far cry from L.A. When her best friend keeps throwing her together with her BF future brother in law she know this guy is nothing but a stick in the mud. Dade has his ranch and his brother to focus on, he doesn't need any women in his life. After his heart was broken before he is questioning his choices he's making, but his brother needs to back off he will find someone if he's ready. Can they get along just till the weddings over?
This story was super sweet love story. I found parts of the story predictable but other parts the author did a good job at throwing some twist and surprises into the story that kept you guessing. I loved Dade's big heart and Lizzy's Take no prisoners, sweet loving attitude. I really enjoyed the fun characters in the story and I loved the small town of Peak Town. I hope Ryder's story is coming also really enjoyed Jamie and Tony I hope there is more to there story. This book has adult language and adults scenes, but was a super fun read.

Mr. Right-Swipe Ricki Schultz

Description:

A Tale of #LeftSwipes, #NotMyTypes, and #Vodka
Rae Wallace would rather drown in a vat of pinot greezh and be eaten by her own beagle than make another trip down the aisle--even if it is her best friend's wedding. She's too busy molding the minds of first graders and polishing that ol' novel in the drawer to waste time on any man.

But when her best friends stage an intervention, Rae is forced to give in. After all, they've hatched a plan to help her find love the 21st century way: online. She's skeptical of this electronic chlamydia catcher, but she's out to prove she hasn't been too picky with men.

However, when a familiar fella's profile pops up--the dangerously hot substitute teacher from work--Rae swipes herself right into a new problem...

Sarcastic, irreverent, and uproariously funny--the painfully-true, so-insightful-it-hurts kind of funny--Ricki Schultz's wry debut will speak to fans of Bridesmaids or Trainwreck, and to anyone who's ever been on a bad date.

My thoughts on the book:

Rae is on a journey to find her self and her friends are all to eager to help. Can she find "mr right" in time for her best friends wedding?
I will say this I like the main characters dog and I liked the ending in this book. I was not a fan of this book, but that being said it could be a good book for the right person. The bases of the books seems to be a group of friends who have known each other forever and wants whats best for each other. They set out to find one of them a man and the main characters doesn't seem to want to take it serious and she been there done that and is not in a hurry to go back. The women in the book are in there 30's but the way they talk and act they seem to be more in there early 20s. It was hard to take them or the story seriously at all. I found the jargon more or less annoy and they came off very immature and high schoolish. This book has adult language and scenes and is not suitable for all ages.

Love Story Karen Kingsbury

Description:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury comes a new book featuring everyone’s favorite family—the Baxters, which tells the story of how John and Elizabeth first fell in love.
From the day they met, John and Elizabeth were destined to fall in love. Their whirlwind romance started when they were young college students and lasted nearly thirty years—until Elizabeth died of cancer.
So when John Baxter is asked to relive his long-ago love story with Elizabeth for his grandson Cole’s heritage project, he’s not sure he can do it. The sadness might simply be too great. But he agrees and allows his heart and soul to go places they haven’t gone in decades. Back to the breathless first moments, but also to the secret heartbreak that brought John and Elizabeth together.
At the same time, Baxter family friend Cody Coleman is working through the breakup of his complicated relationship with Andi Ellison. He is determined to move on when a chance sighting changes his plans—and heart. Can Cody convince Andi to give their love another try, or is it time for them to say goodbye for good?
As school comes to an end, Cole presents his report on the love story between his grandparents John and Elizabeth Baxter. It is a tale that touches the hearts of the entire family, and one that causes Cole to better understand his own beginning.
Whether you’re meeting the Baxter family for the first time or finding them all over again, Love Story will stir your heart and remind you of the generational impact of love and the eternal bond of family.

My thoughts on the book:

Cody and Andi have had their up and downs in the relationship and it seems that Andi is ready to see whats next for her. She heads to Louisiana to help with the flood victims and hopes thats going to be far enough away for her to think. John Baxter is approached by Cole to find out his and Elizabeth's love story and it brings back so many memories he feels like he's not going to be able to justice to the story.
I have read all but two of the Baxter series this book makes me want to go back and re-read them all it's like coming home again. You really don't have to read the whole series to know what's going on the author has done a good job and making sure you know each person and some back story, all while catching up. The book is packed with and amazing storyline not just details. If I had never known about this family I believe in my heart after reading this book I would want to. I loved how in this book the that even though you were find out John and Elizabeth's love story we were finally getting Cody and Andi's story. I have fallen in love with Cody Coleman and Ashley Baxter in previous books and I am hopeful there is more to come for Cody and Andi. If you have been following this family or if this is your first chance encounter with the Baxter's you won't regret it, grab this book and make some time to read this amazing read you won't regret it.
