Perfect Distraction Allison Ashley

Description:

Lauren Taylor isn't thinking about love, especially not with the impossibly attractive man she accidentally spilled coffee all over. He's out of her league and she's focused on finishing her oncology pharmacy residency. She's sworn off men who are too handsome for their own good, anyway.

Andrew Bishop can't stop thinking about the gorgeous redhead who crashed into him and then disappeared, even though he should have way more on his mind - like dealing with his Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis and finishing out his last year in law school. When Andrew and Lauren run into each other at the cancer center where she's working and he's being treated, they try to keep it professional. They can be friends, and nothing more.

But sometimes life has other plans…

My thoughts on the book:

This book was so good and super cute. It was also hard a little too, the reason I say that is because the main character has cancer and it deals with the journey through that the author held nothing back while telling this story. But one thing was clear through out life is precious and you don't want to take it for granted. Why this story is fiction it felt like it was very much real. I love Jeni and I hope she gets her own story she was one sister I think we all wish we had. I loved Lauren and her big heart. This book was full of puns so you are guaranteed to laugh regardless. There are a few curse words but overall this is a clean read. So worth the read.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Fishing Lessons Sherri Murray

Description:

A clean, sweet camping-fishing romance
When Natalie's put in charge of shuttling her boyfriend's truck and boat trailer twelve miles downriver to the take-out, she ends up lost in Fossil. And, for some reason, she doesn't have cell service in the John Day River Canyon. When she goes knocking on doors, the only person home is Cody Felton, a young, cute, local fishing guide. He helps her find the take-out, and over the next five hours, while they wait for her boyfriend to float downriver, Cody reminds her of what she used to want for her life. Set in the juniper-dotted hills of Fossil, Oregon, this lighthearted, Christian romance is sure to snag your heart.

My thoughts on the book:

When Natalie sets out to get to the launch point she followed the directions that her careless boyfriend gave her she ends up lost. When Cody gets a knock on his door he never expected what God really had in store for him that day. Can Cody help get Natalie where she needs to be and keep his heart in tacked?

I have never read anything by this author so I didn't really know what to expect. I have to say this book was the perfect sweet love story. It doesn't need a hero or necessarily has one it just worked. I loved how it was a short read but perfect the author seemed to just have fun and when you are reading it you have fun. This book is set in a small town in Oregon and Natalie seems to come alive while there its almost while she was on this camping trip for work she was finding out who she was. This is a good clean read and I would say suitable for all ages. So fun you won't regret grabbing it.

Beware the Ranger Debra Holt

Description:
Twelve years ago, Kaitlyn Russell had a dream: living happily ever after with Clay Morgan. Except her grandmother had bigger plans for her beloved granddaughter and they didn't include life in the small town of McKenna Springs as the wife of a young, poor deputy. Kaitlyn's heart was broken when Clay and her grandmother convinced her to pursue her second love, Broadway stardom.

Texas Ranger Clay Morgan is a widower with a young son to raise. A dozen years before, he had to make the most difficult decision of his life when he agreed to let go of the only woman he'd ever loved so that she could pursue her dreams.

Now, fate and an old woman’s guilty conscience conspire to bring Clay and Kaitlyn back together once more. Will they be able to lay the past to rest and rekindle their love from the ashes?

My thoughts on the book:

Kaitlyn went to New York to follow her dream? She is on a road trip with her best friend and is summoned home for her grandmother and she is not happy about going back to the one place she never wanted to go back to and come face to face she wants to never see again. Clay has been in love with one girl his whole life but for the best of all involved he watched her walk away. When 12 years go by and he is now forced to face a past he would rather leave in the past he knows he can control his emotions and set everything aside to help gram. But will the past be to much for both of them?

I loved this fun cowboy story. I really enjoyed reading this sweet love story. They both seemed to skirt around the biggest issue throughout the book, but the chemistry between them really popped through out the story. There is no strong language in this book however there is a some adult talk in the book, other then that its a good clean read. I am excited to know more of Angie's story. Also there is one issue in the that I was not sure were were ever going to find out that happened however you do find out and its not what you think which was fun since it added another twist in an already fun story. If you are looking for a fun love story with lots of heartbreak and healing or over all just a fun love story you won't be disappointed.

Restoring Love Jennifer Slattery

Description:

Mitch, a contractor and house-flipper, is restoring a beautiful old house in an idyllic Midwestern neighborhood. Angela, a woman filled with regrets and recently transplanted to his area, is anything but idyllic. She's almost his worst nightmare, and she s also working on restoring something herself. As he struggles to keep his business afloat and she works to overcome mistakes of her past, these two unlikely friends soon discover they have something unexpected in common, a young mom who is fighting to give her children a better life after her husband's incarceration. While both Mitch and Angela are drawn to help this young mother survive, they also find themselves drawn to each other. Will a lifetime of regrets hold them back or unite them and bring redemption along with true love?
Restoring Love, part of New Hope Publishers' line of contemporary missional fiction, demonstrates how God can turn our greatest tragedies and failures into beautiful acts of love and grace that can impact the lives of others. Readers will connect with the realistic characters and find they can relate to the complex situations that makes Jennifer Slattery's book so appealing. Readers will be inspired to see how God wants to use us to restore people's perception of love in action.

My thoughts on the book:

This story is not your typical love story, this story is a story of love for neighbors who seem down and out, for kid who just don't seem to fit, for a child who's choices are destroying those around him and himself, for the broken women who seemed to have screw up her life and she it set to fix it, and for the man who has a big heart but need to work on a few things as well. I truly enjoyed this book, I really loved how with the topics that were dealt with in this book this biggest thing was grace and forgiveness. I really enjoyed how the author did a good job and talking through some tough things with the characters. I think the only thing I really hoped was that there was one relationship i hoped would go different but who know maybe the author is writing more. There is a romance in this story to, please don't get me wrong, and it seemed to flow and work with the story line very authentic. Seriously you can not go wrong with this book the perfect clean read that I had a hard time putting down. I can't wait to read more from Jennifer. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
