O Little Town of Bethany Rene Gutteridge and Cheryl McKay

Description:

Holly left her unhappy life behind, hoping for a Christmas miracle…

Everything about Holly Truesdale’s existence is, well…forgettable. The only good memory of her childhood is their family Christmas in the quaint town of Bethany. Tired of the high society life, Holly leaves the big city, longing to recover the sense of belonging she felt in the Victorian town. She opens a scrapbooking store, ready to help others preserve the important moments she missed as a child.

Holly is drawn to Liam, the widower who runs the B&B next door, but doesn’t fully trust herself in a new relationship. As Holly and Liam grow closer, Holly becomes concerned for the town matriarch, Miss Bethany. But even as Yuletide celebrations are in full swing, Holly and Liam can’t help but notice that Miss Bethany harbors a secret. One that could change Christmas in Bethany forever…

My thoughts on the book:

Holly has always wanted something different out or her life but when she gets a wake up call from the last person she expects, she sets off to the last place she remembers being happy and loved. A place  where a secret is buried and she wants to unbury it and see where it takes her.
Ms. Bethany has her own set of secrets and is set to keep them just that but in the mean time she will make it one last Christmas worth remembering for everyone but most of all for her. But can she keep her secrets from the beloved town she loves so much?
I really enjoyed this book. This book is what Christmas is all about it has its trials and frustrations, but it shows family is what you make of it and the value of Christmas is not about what is given but what is done unto others. I loved how each character seemed to face a trial no matter how small but each one valued and cared for in a town of broken and loved people. It truly shows that even broken we can be a blessing to those around us. If you are looking for a short story then this is a book for you. This book will not let you down and is the perfect Christmas read.

Hope Harbor, Irene Hannon

What's the book about:
Tracy Campbell never wanted to leave Hope Harbor, Oregon, or the idyllic three-generation cranberry farm where she grew up. But life–and love–altered her plans.

When tragedy strikes and changes her plans yet again, she finds herself back in her hometown with a floundering farm to run and a heartbreaking secret. Romance is not on her agenda. Nor is it on Michael Hunter’s. The visitor from Chicago has daunting secrets of his own. But when Tracy recruits him to help save a struggling charitable organization, the winds of change begin to sweep through Hope Harbor, bringing healing, hope, and love to countless lives–including their own.

My thoughts on the book:

Tracy Campbell is home in Hope Harbor she's hard at work on her family cranberry farm and working hard at saving it. She has experienced a lot of loss in her life and at this point her only focus is getting and keeping the farm in black and maybe she can let go of the guilt and regret she has lived with for the last two years. Michael has just come to Hope Harbor to visit and in hopes of finding answers he also needs to find forgiveness and hopes that the town of Hope Harbor will live up to its name and bring him Hope. When Tracy comes crashing into his life he knows it just one more he needs to correct but he needs to figure out how he can do that and still find the hope he is seeking.  Ann is a recluse and has been for some time and when she find Micheal on the street corner she knows she needs to help him and she's completely drawn to him for only one reason will she be able to keep her reclusive lifestyle and help him? Will all three find the forgiveness they are seeking or will it be to late?
I really enjoyed this book 100%. The book has three main characters and the author did an amazing job tying them all together in the storyline, it was easy to keep up with and was completely enjoyable book. Each character is dealing with forgiveness and weather forgiving themselves or forgiving someone else they struggle with the guilt. The characters were very relatable and I found it easy to fall in love with them and they felt more like catching up with a friend the reading a book about fictional characters. You really can not go wrong with this book so amazing.

Grace Unplugged Melody Carlson

What's the book about:
Grace Trey is an eighteen-year-old singer as passionate about her Christian faith as she is her phenomenal, God-given musical talent. Both traits come from her father, one-hit wonder Johnny Tray who found Jesus after losing his chart success two decades ago.

When Grace encounters her own music break of a lifetime, the sudden dive into the "real world" puts her deeper beliefs to the test. Pop superstardom is just within reach but appears to require some spiritual compromise. Will Grace reject her faith, or will she own it?

Grace Unplugged is based on the motion picture of the same name starring AJ Michalka (Super 8) and Kevin Pollak (A Few Good Men).

My thoughts on the book:

Let me say this book is good for anyone, but would be perfect for any teenager. Grace is 18 and has the whole world in front of her. Her dad use to be famous and she has it in her mind she needs to be famous and will stop at nothing to get there including, being selfish and acting like she knows everything. She has no problem hurting people even the one she loves, or does she? As most teenagers they think they know it all and Grace is no different. This book has so much more then I talked about and will really gets to the heart of the matter all why you sit by and try to understand where Grace's at and her family and friends if you want to know more I say grab this book you will not be disappointed and I highly recommend this book for anyone who had a dream or who has a dream, because you never know where that dream might take you and Grace is the same way.

On ring and a Prayer -Sandra D. Bricker

What's the book about:

In a city where everything is gorgeous and expensive, can Jessie Stanton survive on pennies and prayers?Twelve years of marriage, 4,000 square feet of dream house, and a handsome husband. Jessie Stanton has it all… until one fateful afternoon when she notices her BMW bouncing by the window behind a tow truck. Her husband has gone, and he’s taken it all. The whirling tornado that cuts down the life she’s built drops Jessie onto the sandy beach of Malibu with a thud, penniless and alone. When all she’s left with are the designer labels in her closet and the dreamy Neil Lane rock on her finger, Jessie tries to make ends meet by pawning her prized ring to fund a new business venture: a small shop where her designer duds and shimmering accessories are temporarily leased out to Southern California women with champagne tastes but root beer realities. As Jessie tries to rebuild, she realizes she can’t move on, not without answers. Reluctantly, Jessie turns to beach bum/private investigator Danny Callahan for help. But is she staking her future success and happiness…on a ring and a prayer?

My thoughts on the book:

New starts are never easy; there are lots of bumps in the road that get you to new starts and new chapters. Sometimes you have to just pick yourself up and dust yourself off.  Not everyone can relate with the rich and famous but everyone can relate to being betrayed by someone you love and care for so deeply. Jessie is no different she is strong and seems to have a lot going for her. When her life crashes around her she is forced to come face to face with choice that can’t be easy for most of us. The plot and the storyline literally grab you and draw you from one page to the next and keep you there from the beginning of the book till the very end. With each character you feel like you could be friends or know someone in like that. I have to say hands down I will be telling everyone I know about this book, can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out. This book did not disappoint and you cannot go wrong with buy this book.

My Thoughts on each of the main characters in the book:
  • Daniel- free-spirited fun loving surfer guy with a heart to help others and a love for God
  • Amber-a go-getting risk taker with a lot of love and spirit you just want to be around her
  • Stephanie- (I want to be her when I grow up) she seems like a no non sense person with a lot of value in life and friends
  • Piper- a loyal friend, sweet, loving and full of spirit, a true friend
  • Jessie- head strong lets nothing in life stop her, has a big heart but a broken spirit.
  • Riggs- Friend to everyone a big hearted guy with a lot of spirit, not very vocal about things and life
  • Frank- A fun loving friend who thinks he should be loved and honored by everyone who comes in contact with him and everyone needs to know he is that and will not be ignored.
  • Grampy- The most loving person with a big heart of gold who wants the best for all in his life but knows that life is not always sunshine and roses.

Montana Maverick Debra Salonen

What's the book about:
Be careful what you wish for-
Meg Zabrinski, successful scientist, well-known environmental advocate, and tenured professor is as independent as they come in Montana. She doesn’t need a man in her life, but she does want to have a baby. She retreats to her isolated mountain cabin to write and ponder her future when Henry Firestone–an old rival and former secret crush from her distant past–drops out of the sky on Christmas Eve with three young children and a baby. Meg doesn’t believe in cosmic signs, but even she realizes she’d be crazy not to consider all her options.
The sparks that have always smoldered between them ignite a mutual passion, but when Henry Firestone makes it clear he’s done having children, Meg is forced to accept that falling in love with Henry and his ready-made family would require her to abandon her dream. Can this “Lone Wolf” assimilate into a new pack, or is this Big Sky Maverick meant to be alone?

My thoughts on the book:

Meg is set to be on her own for the holidays to get some much needed time relaxing and thinking done, all while trying to write her book so has been itching to write. Henry is set to take on trying to be the best dad and the best grandpa anyone could ask for what he doesn’t expect it panic to set in when everything around him seems to be falling apart.

I love being back in Marietta, Montana and catching up with these lovely folks, I just love this town. I loved the trueness of this book, the trueness of these people. I love being able to get loss in this book. I felt like with this story I was reading a letter from a friend and catching up instead of just reading a book. I feel like there is nothing I can say negative about this book. The chemistry between the characters and the well written storyline keeps you going from the being to the end. It will draw you in and you will have a hard time putting this book down. If you are looking for a good read with a lot of love this and not just another sappy story this is the book for you.

Part-time Princess Paula DuMond (Ladies in waiting series)

What's the book about:

Lucy Trabbicio’s a down-on-her-luck, young, American, former biker-bar cocktail waitress desperate to find a job. Lady Elizabeth Billingsley hires Lucy to travel to Fredonia, the tiny jewel of a country in the Alps, for ten days ‘tops’ to impersonate her.
Say what? How the heck is that going to happen?
In the mother of all makeovers, Elizabeth’s people teach Lucy how to dress, walk, talk, eat, be coiffed and even get naked like a European Lady.
The goal?
To keep Crown Prince Cristoph Timmel interested in Elizabeth until she finishes her unexpected, pressing personal business in the States.
But fate intervenes… Lucy meets and is wildly attracted to sexy, bad-boy Nick on the oh-so-long flights to Fredonia. Unfortunately for Lucy—Nick and Elizabeth have a hot sexual history, which Nick wants to immediately resume.
Prince Cristoph proposes marriage. What's an imposter girl to do? Elizabeth insists that she’ll make it back home in time for the wedding. Lucy accepts Cristoph’s proposal and is on the fast track to becoming a Princess but continues to fall for the wrong Prince of Fredonia—Nick. When another tiny glitch arises—someone’s trying to kill her.
The only folks helping Lucy are her wild, party hard, take-no-prisoners Ladies-in-Waiting.
When the real Lady Elizabeth decides she’s not marrying Cristoph and never returning to Fredonia, Lucy’s faced with an uncomfortable decision—continue her deception, marry the prince she’s not in love with and live a dream life albeit without Nick, her dream guy? Or tell the truth and return to poverty and oblivion?
A modern day sexy fairy tale with romance, twists and turns, LOL moments, a few tears and an empowering ending

My thoughts on the book:

The book is based about a girl in Chicago who has struggled because she has dealt with some tough things even though she is only 21. She is set to find a job and continue to take care of her uncle has been there for her. She finds this job online she is ready to fib her way through when she meets 3 people who are about to change her life in more ways than one, and she has no idea how much or why.

Oh where do I even begin with the book? I have never read anything by Pamela DuMond I can honestly say I really liked this book. There wasn’t a lot of deepness to the book to be honest, but sometime that’s nice to just find a fun book with lots of humor and enough depth to keep your attention from the beginning to the end of the book. The book had me laughing from the beginning. There is one part in this book there was one part towards the middle of the book that has you rethinking the whole book and how it’s playing out only to turn the page and find out that it was not what you thought. Seriously, though if you are looking for a fun read with not a whole lot of thinking to be down this is your book. I would say this book not meant for young readers as there is some strong language in it, the language is very minimal but at best would not recommend for young readers.

Bound to the Bachelor Sarah Mayberry

What's the book about:
Your date with Marietta local Beau Bennett includes a day on the slopes at Big Sky Resort, complete with a sumptuous meal in the Resort’s fanciest fine dining restaurant and door-to-door transport. Dig deep to secure the attentions of one of Montana’s most eligible – and elusive – bachelors.
Lily Taylor knows Beau Bennett dislikes her, but that won’t stop her from asking him to volunteer for the Bachelor Auction she’s organized to help her friend Molly provide for her tragically injured son, Josh. If Beau’s gorgeous face, piercing blue eyes and chiseled body inspires the women of Marietta to dig into their pockets for a good cause, then Lily will do whatever it takes to secure his participation.
Beau Bennett isn’t sure how he wound up on the auction block being eyed up by hundreds of eager women, but he knows who to blame for it – Lily Taylor, the sexy, distracting, off-limits best friend of his kid sister. As far as he’s concerned, the sooner this nightmare is over, the better.
The last thing either of them expects is for Lily to wind up bidding on – and winning – Beau, or that their date will lead to Beau stepping in to save Lily when her past comes back to haunt her. As Beau does his best to keep Lily safe, they discover that maybe they don’t dislike each other quite as much as they thought.
In fact, maybe it’s just the opposite…

My thoughts on the book:

WOW where do I start with this book in one word AMAZING!!! Lily has been on the run since she was 16 and that has not stopped her from living the life on a day to day bases not hoping for much from tomorrow. Beau has spent the last five years working hard with little on his mind then getting his business into the black. He feels like he always has a verbal sparring partner when it comes to Lily. When he feels tricked by her he is not happy but he never backs out on his word and this time he won’t even if he feels like it. From the first chapter to the last page the chemistry is so strong that if has you turning the pages to find out what is going to happen. This read is short and sweet but has a lot of action that you find yourself left wanting so much more. This is such a fun love story and Marrietta is back so you find yourself getting caught up just a little in the wonderful town in Montana.

Barbecue and Bad News Nancy Naigle (An Adams Grove Novel Book 6)

What's the book about:

Welcome to Adams Grove…where the barbecue isn’t the only thing that sizzles.
Savannah Dey politely agreed to attend her ex-husband’s wedding, but she’d be grateful for any reason to get out of it…which is why the speeding ticket from the handsome sheriff of Adams Grove is both a surprise and a reprieve. With one quick call to her editor, the aspiring columnist finds herself with a new assignment and the perfect excuse to get closer to the man who pulled her over. Now, all she needs is a way to deal with all the bad memories the small town dredges up…
Sheriff Scott Calvin can’t forget the woman who set off his radar, but he’s determined to send Savannah on her way. He’s done making bad choices, and this beautiful city gal is sure to leave Adams Grove once she finishes her story. By the time she’s stirred up a hornet’s nest, he’s already falling for her. Will trouble bind them together, or will her secrets tear them apart?

My thoughts on the book:

Life is not always what you hope for; at least that is what Savannah keeps telling herself in order to make peace with the past. She has spent years hiding and running by working her tail off and the day of your ex-husbands wedding it no different. What she did not expect is that speeding even a few over would get her pulled over.

Adam Grove’s sheriffs Scott Calvin once again has decided that bachelorhood was a lot better than continuing to end up with the wrong person. When we pull over Savannah Dey he just wanted he to be on her way and he was taken back by her choose to stick around for the parade.

This book was a fun read it did have some serious moments but over all I loved the characters in the small town. I have not read anything by Nancy Naigle before I can say that the storyline did not disappoint at all. The did have a few slow parts but they were quick and didn’t really take from the story overall. If you are looking for a fun read with a lot of fun characters with lots of personality then this book is so worth the read, either way this book is worth the buy.

Where the Road Takes Me Jay McLean

What's the book about:
Chloe has one plan for the future, and one plan only: the road. She’s made a promise to herself: don’t let anyone in, and don’t let anyone love her. She’s learned the hard way what happens if she breaks her rules. So she’s focused on being invisible and waiting until she can set out on the road—her dream of freedom, at least for a little while.

Blake Hunter is a basketball star who has it all—everything about him looks perfect to those on the other side of his protective walls. He can’t let anyone see the shattered pieces behind the flawless facade or else all his hopes and dreams will disappear.

One dark night throws Chloe and Blake together, changing everything for Blake. For Chloe, nothing changes: she has the road, and she’s focused on it. But when the so-called perfect boy starts to notice the invisible girl, they discover that sometimes with love, no one knows where the road may lead

My thoughts on the book:

I have to say when I first started this book out I was kind of turned off by all the strong language, The story and the book its self is amazing and I think that it was well written and could have been that much better without the language. Now that being said I really, really liked this book, it was not what I expected at all. Two young adults faced with life in a harsh way and how they set to deal with it is amazing. I loved the small side story of Josh and Tommy they had just as much to do with this story and making it. This book deals with a lot of hard things and a lot of love, but overall the story will not disappoint. Once I started reading it I had a hard time stopping, the book was just that good. Hard to put down for sure.

Caught in the Act (The Davenports #2) Kim Law

What's the book about:
Catherine Davenport Carlton needs a break. After dedicating her life to her political-minded family, shocking scandals from the past have shaken her to her core. Summer in the quiet town of Dyersport, Maine, is just what she needs, especially with a super-hot neighbor right next door…who’s none other than Brody Hollister, the boy she fell in love with as a teen. Cat wants nothing more than to pick up right where they left off eighteen years ago, but she’s still haunted by a terrible secret that could devastate Brody.

Brody Hollister spent years pining over Cat Davenport. They met young and loved passionately—until she disappeared from his life. Now she’s back, as spirited and beautiful as ever. But while Brody is determined to help Cat free herself from her family’s drama, his own family may be hiding something that could ruin their rekindled romance for good.

In Book Two of the Davenports romance series, sex and politics collide…with passionate results.
My thoughts on the book:

Catherine (Cat) loses her husband four years ago and she is ready to find herself again. So off to “vacation” she goes, she heads to Maine to where her family vacationed when she was younger. She loves everything about Maine it feels like coming home, all but one thing.

She is renting a beach house and every morning to spies on her really hot neighbor while he is out for his run. Only Brody wants to know why Cat is back and what happened all that time ago.  Brody has worked really hard to become the person he is and avoid certain family members who may make him or break him. This book starts off slow for me I had a hard time really getting into it at first but once the book picks up about a third way through it becomes a book that is hard to put down. I will say there are some slow points in the book again but overall the book keeps your attention and leaves you wanting more. This book has some strong language but for the most part, it’s quite mild and doesn’t overwhelm. This book is well worth the read.

Intensive Care Nicki Edwards

What's the book about:
On the surface it looks like busy intensive care nurse Kate Kennedy has it all: a long-term relationship, a great career and a sleek inner city apartment. But appearances are deceiving, and in one fell swoop everything comes crashing down around her. In a moment of spontaneity, Kate leaves her city life and takes a new role as Nurse Unit Manager at Birrangulla Base Hospital, but her dream move proves harder than expected.

Local café owner Joel O'Connor finds himself increasingly drawn to the gorgeous new nurse, but like Kate, he's been scarred by love and isn't looking to jump into anything. Yet their chemistry is hard to deny and after a near fatal incident, Joel and Kate find themselves opening up to one another.

Just when Kate thinks she's found love again, their fragile relationship is thwarted by their pasts. Can they both let go of their guilt and grief to move on to a bright new future?
My thoughts on the book:

This book is based in Australia it really make you want to visit and see the beauty that is described in the book. In the book Kate seems to have everything going for her, she is a nurse and she loves her job she has great family and friends and a boyfriend who she is madly in love with.  When she gets a shock of her life her first thing to do is run. She runs for anything and everything that seems not familiar. She meets Joel and becomes friends with him he is hide a secret and he to in his heart and mind is running from something, but doesn’t seem to realize it until Kate falls into his world.

I will stay this I wish the book had to prospective from it not just one (back and forth between what the guy was thinking to what the girl was thinking). At the beginning I felt like it seem a little all over the place, however that quickly changed. The book keeps you guessing and you really do find yourself drawn in and wanting to know what’s going to happen and what’s happening. I love how the book had a lot of heart and that the storyline over all was really good and well written. This book will not disappoint at some point I thought the book was winding down only to have a curve ball thrown in. If you are looking for a really cute love story with a little bit of action this is the one for you, you won’t regret it. I hope there are more to come this is one author I want to read more from.

Delectable Adrianne Lee

What's the book about:

Montana real estate agent Quint McCoy will tell you that the most important thing is location, location, location. It's a lesson he learns all too well when he goes incommunicado for a four-week fishing trip to Alaska. While he's away, his mother Molly turns his office into the pie shop she has always dreamed of, Big Sky Pie. But that's not the only surprise in store for him.

On her way out of town, Callee McCoy only wants to say a fond farewell to her beloved mother-in-law. But Molly soon persuades Callee to stay and lend a hand at the new shop, even if it means heating up the kitchen with her soon-to-be ex. As Callee and Quint rediscover their recipe for love, they realize that some couples are so sinfully good together that one delectable taste is never enough
My thoughts on the book:

This book is about 2 people who have so much loss and they are they are now experiencing the loss of love for each other, or are they. Quint is just back from a fishing trip and Callie is on the way out of town to finally follow her dream, when someone close to them someone they both love so deeply ends up in the hospital with a life or death situation. Will they be able to set the past aside and find the love the once had while helping a new business off the ground, or will it be a little to late?
I really liked this book I felt that the story line was well written. At no point did I feel like when is this book going to end. The chemistry between the main characters was so amazing and so realistic and very sizzling. I love how the author makes you feel like these are people you know. I also loved how the heart of the story will grab you and hold you to the end of the story. I can not wait to read more from this author.
