After a year full of the kind of success he could only dream of, it’s December 23, and he’s headlining a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. My thoughts on the book:
When a solar flare hits the country people are left scrambling some die some turn evil and some are just fearful of the unknown. As the four friends head out to find medicine for the people in their town and for Shelbys some they are faced with some trials and things you just can't ever unsee or ever want to see again. Can they get where they need to be and get where they need to save Shelby's son before it's to late?
I will start off saying I did not read the first book so I didn't realize this was a series. That being said it wasn't hard to catch on what was going down. There were twist and turns throughout this whole book and it left you on the edge of your seat, there were also parts in the book that were predictable but those were few and far between. The book was a good clean read throughout this book does have an "end times" feel to it however the author kept it like it was in current times and that it could really happen. The end of the book does end in a cliff hanger and you are left wanting so much more in that sense you want to know whats happening next. This book was a really good read and I can only imagine what the author is going to throw in next that will keep you on the edge of your seat. GRAB this book you won't regret it.

Sarah's Orphans Vannetta Chapman

Description:
Orphaned...But Never Abandoned by God

Sarah Yoder belongs to a Plain community in Oklahoma, but her days are far from simple. Life suddenly gets complicated when a series of tragic events unfold, leaving her in charge of the household.

Alone with her younger siblings, Sarah is exhausted but finally at peace. Then she nearly runs over a small Hispanic boy with her buggy...and somehow finds herself sheltering two more orphans.

Paul Byler moved to Cody's Creek to help his brother in a time of need. But now that Joseph has recovered from his heart attack, Paul's ready for a quiet place of his own. The only problem? His new property lands him next door to the orphaned Yoder family—and a calling from God he can't seem to ignore.

A story of extraordinary grace and love in the face of desperate need, Sarah's Orphans is the third standalone novel in the Plain and Simple Miracles collection by Vannetta Chapman.

My thoughts on the book:

Sarah Yoder has come home from her missions trip and it seems like her family is falling apart. She now is left to raise her siblings and is now taking in two very young hispanic kids who seem to be abandoned she knows she may need some help but she's not ready to ask for it just yet. Paul Byler moved to Cody's creek to help his sister in law since his brother's heart attack. Strange things start happening around the store but they don't feel to threatened by them. When he finds a farm for sale he grabs in and knows he going to need help, but when he finds out who his neighbor is and he knows he needs to get to know Sarah and when her brothers step to help out he wonders if there maybe more to come from this then just neighbors. Will Paul and Sarah find what there looking for "love" or will they both be drawn to other things that keep there lives just to far apart?

I really enjoyed this book a lot. The book showed how important family is. Family is not about those who come from the same blood but what you make of it. I really enjoyed that even though this is an amish book that it was not necessary that life was perfect and everything went perfect the author did a good job at portraying that just because the characters choose to live a plain life the life is not perfect. I really enjoyed the fun characters like Isaac and Mateo, Mia and Mammi. I also loved how that no matter what character played a role at that time in the book you felt like you knew them. I loved how in this book you really feel like you are catching up with a group of friends and not just reading a fictional story. This book is amazing and I really had a hard time putting it down. You really will no regret reading this fun story.

Joshua's Mission Vannetta Chapman

What's the book about:
Joshua’s Mission is a new standalone novel in the Plain and Simple Miracles collection from popular author Vannetta Chapman. These stories of love and family and Amish community in Oklahoma tell of the miracles that can happen when lives are lived in service to God and to one another.
Joshua Kline travels from his farm in Oklahoma to offer aid to an Englisch town on the gulf coast of Texas after a category 4 hurricane has ravaged the area. He brings his brother with him, who needs a change of environment. The last thing he wants for Alton is another brush with the law. He is pleasantly surprised when he hears that Becca Troyer, the bishop’s granddaughter, plans on joining their team.
What will Joshua find when he arrives in Texas? A lack of electricity, certainly, which poses little problem for the Amish volunteers as they help restore order from destruction. But a budding romance? A call from God? And a possible healing of his relationship with Alton?
Joshua’s Mission is a story of love, forgiveness, and the grace of God that carries us through even the worst situations.

My thoughts on the book:
Charlie was married and loved being part of the his community and helping every where that was needed. He had a special place in his heart for widows and Alice and her grandkids. When Hurricane Orion is headed for there small island he has some decisions to make and he knows he needs to make them fast, but will it be to late? Joshua is sick of bailing his brother Alton out of all kinds of trouble but he knows that he needs to to keep his brother on the straight and narrow and help his parents out. When the bishop sends him and and his brother on a mission will he be able to help those in need and help his brother. Becca is a rarity in the amish community being an only child but she know that its what God planned now at the ripe old age of 20 if she can just find a husband she feel like life would be that much better, when her granddad suggest she go on a mission and maybe find her purpose but will she be able to protect her heart in the process.

The first half of this book is two separate stories going one you know based on the description they will merge but to me it seem to take a long time getting there. Once the book was merged the story flowed well and it draws you in leaving you wanting more. The book its self I would give a 3.5 stars, once the story merged into one story, I had a hard time putting the book down it was enjoyable with some serious parts as well as some fun parts. It was just getting to that point I had a hard time getting into the story and the first part of the book, not much of a page turner.
