A Cowboy's Proposal C.J. Carmichael

Description:

She’s not willing to forgive. He’s unable to forget.

One year ago, Montana cowboy Dylan McLean left the love of his life at the altar and fled town, thinking he was doing the right thing by saving her from a scandal. He’s found success on the rodeo circuit, but his love for Cathleen never faded. Now he’s returned home to clear his name, claim his bride and rebuild his legacy.

Bed-and-breakfast owner Cathleen Shannon has moved on from her broken heart. That is, until Dylan shows up at her house one night asking for help and a second chance. Despite Dylan’s betrayal, she promises to assist with his investigation. She doesn’t want an innocent man to go to jail, but her heart is most definitely off limits.

But Cathleen has forgotten one important fact: Dylan is relentless when he’s going after something he wants. He walked away once, but she won’t let that happen again.

My thoughts on the book:

I really like this author you never know where she is going to take a story and that was the same case with this book. This book was a tough book for sure it dealt with domestic violence which is something it seems most people don’t want to talk about it and this author held nothing back. This book was so good. I will be honest I wanted to smack Dylan in the head so many times through out this book. He was so cocky, but in the next breathe I wanted to give him a hug because the stuff he dealt with. Oh my did I like Cathleen and Poppy, they were hands down my favorite. Cathleen was a fighter and a strong girl who was ready to fight for what she wanted. Poppy man I want to know more of her story and she was a sweet women who was ready be a mama to Cathleen and anyone who came into the B and B. Over all this book was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read more from these sisters. I am so ready to hear what happens with Maureen. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

“Filled with passion, suspense, and strong characters.”—Rendezvous with Romance on My Favorite Cowboy (5 stars)

My thoughts on the book:

I will say this book did not disappoint at all but the book is super intense as it does deal with Domestic Violence and has you on the edge of your seat almost the whole book. I had a hard time putting this book down. You know who the bad guy is from the beginning but the author keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next and where the story is headed. The author did not sugar coat anything in this story. There is strong language and sex throughout the book so may not be suitable for all readers. This book was really good and completely worth the read. I also loved the "family" aspect of this story and how Danny surround himself with some great people who were not only friends but family and when Danny tried to withdrawal into himself they would set up and draw him back to the flock. Seriously this book will not let you down. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Includes the bonus novel Then There Was You by Miranda Liasson!

My thoughts on the book:

Anytime I have ever read anything by this author I just never know what I am going to get, and it's always a fun surprise. This book was very much the same way. The author held nothing back, in this book she has the characters face some very tough situations and where I have read some books will just glaze over the topics, not this author she has the characters take it head on and its a no holds bar. I like that while Lia and Noah are both facing the past and trying to tackle their own demons neither is so wound up in there self that they can't help other in the small town of Magnolia Harbor. in every small town you have the "gossip" biddies and they very much were active in this story which added fun and craziness to the story. I so cant wait to read more from Magnolia Harbor after reading this book I can't decide who's story I want to read next I feel there are a ton more to come. You really can't go wrong with this book grab it you won't regret it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts on the book:

This book was a very quick read, but remember good things come in small packages. I really enjoyed this story. There is "sex" or at least the innuendo's through out the book. However the story line is well written and so fun. I really liked Meredith and her wiling to fight strong attitude. I like that the author took 2 imperfect people and didn't try and make them perfect but made them feel very much like the average person on the street. I really overall enjoyed this fun read, grab it you won't regret it.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The Perfect Date Evelyn Lozada; Holly Lorincz

Description:

When a single mom ends up playing an unwilling fake girlfriend to a charming playboy baseball player, love suddenly turns everything upside down in this fun, heartwarming multicultural romance.
Angel Gomez has never lived by the book. A Bronx-based unwed mother by the time she was sixteen, Angel’s personal mission has always been to show the world that a Puerto Rican girl is not to be messed with—especially by a man. The only thing that matters to Angel, now, is providing for her son and earning enough tips at the club to complete her nursing degree along the way. Love is nowhere on her agenda.
Caleb “The Duke” Lewis is a star pitcher for the Bronx Bolts whose romantic escapades make delicious fodder for gossip columns. But lately he’s been trying to keep a lower profile—so much so that when he meets Angel, first while she’s in her nurse uniform and the next time behind the bar, she has no idea who Duke is, fails to fall for his obvious charm, and ends up throwing a drink in his face! She is the perfect woman for Duke...to fool the tabloids into thinking he’s finally settling down. But what begins as a charade soon has Duke and Angel hurtling into a full-blown romance that rocks each of their worlds and begs the question: Is this the real deal—or are some love stories just too good to be true?

My thoughts on the book:

These authors are new to me so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really liked how the book started off where they took a single mom who was kicking butts to make something for her and her son, and that's where it stopped for me. I felt like Angel was built up as this independent women and was make something for herself and the she caved to a real jerk. I was not a fan of "the Duke" at all, they tried to make him the hero of the story and I was done at that. The story I guess you could say gives you an eye into what its like for some of the rich in famous with drug use, sex, unfaithfulness, parting and guns. In the end I felt it was abrupt and kind of leaves you to finish what happened with the main story line. Over all this book was not a book I could say I would recommend it was not a book for me that's for sure. There is a lot of cursing and graphic details in this book so it may not be for all readers. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

When Imogen Naughton vanishes, everyone who knows her is shocked. She has a perfect marriage. Her handsome husband treats her like a princess. She's always said how lucky she is. So why has she left? And how will she survive without Vince?

Will it catch up with her? And will she be ready to face it if it does?
My thoughts on the book:

Running away may not always be the option, but sometimes its the only option. In this book Imogen takes off and tries to find herself and the is looking for answers to what went wrong in her life. When her husband wonders what went wrong and where she took off to.
This book is not a love story. I found there story very intense for a large portion of the book. I did enjoy the behind story and the trials that has and is facing Imogen. I did not like Vince at all in there was no portion in the book I did not want to scream. This story faces some tough subjects and has some strong language. I also enjoyed the friendships that were forged in this book. It shows no matter what your going through friends and family can be there for you. I really enjoyed reading Celine and Rene's portion of the story and would love to know more of them.

Imperfect Justice Cara C. Putman- Hidden Justice #2

Description:
To the world it seems obvious: Kaylene Adams killed her daughter and then was shot by police. Attorney Emilie Wesley knows a different story: Kaylene would never hurt anyone and was looking for a way out of a controlling, abusive relationship. Her death shakes Emilie’s belief that she can make a difference for women in violent marriages. Self-doubt plagues her as she struggles to continue her work in the wake of the tragedy.

Reid Billings thought he knew his sister—right up until he learned how she died. He discovers a letter from Kaylene begging him to fight for custody of her daughters if anything should happen to her. Thrown together in the race to save Kaylene’s surviving daughter, Emily and Reid pursue the constantly evasive truth. If they can hang on to hope together, can they save a young girl—and find a future for themselves in the process?

My thoughts on the book:
Emilie wonders if she can do it anymore can she really help those who cant help themselves. When her life is turned upside down she knows she has to keep fighting and get justices for the silenced. Reid it thrown into a role of trying to protect his niece he just needs to know who to trust and who might not be as safe as he thought. His whole world it thrown upside down but he will stop at nothing to help his niece. Can they work together and get the help for Kaylene's little girl or will there be more to it in the back ground they are unaware of?
This book is amazing I can't even. This book deals with some really tough subjects and there is not even a slow part in this book from page one to the very last page I had a hard time putting it down. I loved how the author held nothing back. This story could be anyone's story such an eyeopening read. This book is so worth the read I loved how it sucks you in and you can't go wrong. This book is a super clean read and no strong language.

Standing on the Edge of Goodbye, Mary Alford

What's the book about:
She gave up everything in the name of love and it almost cost Kate Alexander her life. Now alone and pregnant, Kate is desperate to reach the one person who matters most in her life. Her Grandmother Rachel.
After the death of his son, Matt Stevens checked out on life and God, but when Kate shows up at his doorstep desperate and sick, Matt finds himself wanting to help her. Is it just for Rachel’s sake? While he loved Rachel like a family member, lately since Kate’s entrance into his life, he finds himself thinking about things he’d written out of his life. Things like love and a future with Kate and her child.
Is it possible for two broken people to rebuild their lives and start over? Can Matt accept the second chance at happiness Kate can provide? Can Kate trust Matt when he tells her love isn’t supposed to hurt?

My thoughts on the book:
Kate feels like she is still on the run and she needs to get to her grandma the one person that keeps her grounded and matters the most to her. Matt is dealing with the lost of his son and he is not to happy when Kate shows up on his doorstep. But when Kate seems like she needs his help he reluctantly helps her but he wonders why. Will they be able to help each other or will a potential loss send them both in different directions?
I loved this book it was amazing. Its a quick read but pact for of adventure and an amazing story. I had a hard time putting this down for any reason. I found my self at the end wishing for more only because it was that good not because the book ended in a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed how the author wrote about some tough subjects but showed even in the midst of it all Kate continue to fight the battle she was given. Matt was a tough cookie sometimes I wanted to just smack him up side his head but other times I just loved the person he was becoming. There really was nothing about the book I did not like. You really can not go wrong with this fun clean read.

Return to Paradise Barbara Cameron

What's the book about:

Twelve months ago, David Stoltzfus left the Amish community in Paradise, Pennsylvania—and encouraged his siblings to follow—after their father became overly stern and even abusive with them. Escaping to a new life in the Englisch world was the only way to keep one another safe. But it was not without sacrifice. When David left his father’s house and community, he also left behind Lavina Zook, the woman he planned to wed.

Lavina hasn’t forgiven David for abandoning her, but when David’s father is diagnosed with cancer, she believes she might be the only one to lure him back to make peace . . . before it’s too late. Still, forgiveness isn’t easy. Even if she can get David to return, she’s not sure he will forgive his father. And she’s not sure she can forgive David, either.

My thoughts on the book:
Its been a year since Lavina was abandon by her fiancé no questions, no good bye he just left. With wedding season upon their community its another step in the healing process and letting go of the past and look to the future. When David's mom asks for her help to find David and his brothers to come home and help with their sick father but will she be able to set her feelings aside and help others or will she hit her breaking point?
David and his brothers left about a year ago after a fall out with their dad and they left with out looking back. They left their girlfriends and their mom, now his mom has reached out and asked him to come home to be there before since his dad is sick. Will he be able to put the past aside and help him parents and win back Lavina's heart or is it all to late?
I really really enjoyed this book. The book starts off at just the right speed and just gets better with each page. The storyline is well written, the story deals with some tough topics even being amish it shows that they are not perfect as so many believe. I like how the author kept the characters feeling real and getting to the heart of every matter. I loved Lavina's parents and how the author wrote about a taboo topic while even in the midst of it all you can really find some funny parts from different people in the book. I loved the spirit of giving in the story. This book is a real page turner and I found myself staying up late just to keep reading it. You really can not go wrong with this book.

Until You Jeannie Moon

What's the book about:

When newly divorced Kate Adams is approached on the sunny deck of a California hotel by hockey star David Burke, and he invites her to dinner, she almost says no. He’s obviously younger than her. And charming. And drop dead gorgeous. But there’s also something sweet about David, so Kate—who hasn’t done anything spontaneous in a very long time—accepts his invitation.
It is, after all, her fortieth birthday.
However, a real romance with thirty-year-old David, whose picture is in the gossip pages as often as it’s in the sports pages, is out of the question. No matter how much she wants him, it’s just too risky.
But meeting Kate has been David’s lightning strike. She’s the one for him, and he has no intention of giving up on her.
So while Kate guards her fragile heart, David sets out to win her over with the same determination that drives him on the ice.
And he’ll break every rule in the book if he has to

My thoughts on the book:

Kate is a hard working mom all she wants in life is whats best for her teenage daughter Laura. Kate goes to a conference in California to get away from life and try to start fresh and a new chapter. The only thing is Kate trust NO ONE other then her sister and her best friend Julie. Will she learn to start to trust to get to the new chapter she so desperately want to start off good?
David yummy hockey player about to hit a "mile stone" birthday is visiting California for the first away game of the season. He spots Kate and knows he has to talk to her and then ask her to dinner, the only thing is he thinks this will be easy and just like all the other girls. I mean is he really ever going to see her again?

I love this book. i love how the author wrote about so really tough subjects. At the beginning of the book my heart so just broke for Kate, by the end I was cheering for her, she was such a strong character and it was easy to really like her. At first I could not stand Richard or Laura and forget about Marie, but as the book went one you could really start to see Laura's heart and you wanted to cheer for her. This book will draw you in from the beginning of the book and with every page turn will find it hard to put down. At one point the author discuss Kate's book and I found my self wanting to read that book. This book seriously worth the read and you can not go wrong with it.

I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

Bachelor Auction Series
Book 1: Bound to the Bachelor
Book 2: Bachelor at her Bidding
Book 3: The Bachelor's Baby
Book 4: What a Bachelor Needs
Book 5: In Bed with the Bachelor
Book 6: One Night with her Bachelor

My thoughts on the book:

Mardie is working hard to make a better life for her baby girl after going through hell. She sees a face she wants to run from but also run too. She is torn as to what to do but she know that the auction will be over soon and she will not have to see Jett Casey again after that or will she?
Jett wonders if Mardie remembers him, has always wonder what happened to her after there last run in and he she is happy to see her again. When she gets him as a gift for a week of handyman services he wonders if this is a way to make a wrong right?
OMG I love this story, I love being able to catch up with the wonderful characters of Marrietta Montana. I love how this author talked about some tough issues but the book as a whole left you wanting more. I can honestly say there was not one thing I did not like about this book. While the book my be short its got a really good story and a way of drawing you into the book you find it hard to put down. Unlike the other books that have a ton of steamy hotness this book has a "little bit" of steamy hotness to it, but it is worth it because even with the little bit the story didn't need it all the much since there was so much chemistry through out the whole book. If you are looking for a fun series to read these set of books are for you.
