Wild Montana Skies, Susan May Warren Book #1

Description:

Search and rescue pilot Kacey Fairing is home on leave in Mercy Falls, Montana, twelve years after she joined the military to escape the mistakes of her past. With a job waiting for her as the new lead pilot of Peak Rescue in Glacier National Park, Kacey hopes to reconnect with the now-teenage daughter she sees only between deployments. What she doesn't realize is that someone else is also back in town.

Ben King has been building his country music career since the day Kacey shut him out of her life. Now all of that's on hold when his injured father calls him home to help run Peak Rescue until he's fully recovered. It doesn't take long, though, to discover his father's ulterior motives as Kacey Fairing walks into the house and back into his heart.

With Mercy Falls in a state of emergency due to flash floods, Kacey and Ben are forced to work together to save lives. But when floodwaters turn personal, can they put aside the past to save their future?

My thoughts on the book:

Kacey is sent home after facing something no one should be forced to see. She has in mind to go home reconnect with her daughter and to fly the one thing she felt alive and her self. She never expected that she will be forced to face a past she would rather leave in the past.
Ben is home to help his dad heal after a helicopter crash and hopes to convince him to come back to Nashville with him so he can get back to picking up a career that seems to be done. When he comes face to face with someone from his past he's not sure who to be more mad at Kacey or his dad. He's lived after he finds out Kacey and what seems like the whole town is holding a secret from him.
Will they be able to work together put the past in the past and spend the summer in a SAR team or will they be destroyed forever?

I really enjoyed this book a lot I loved how Kacey comes off as a not going to put up with anyone, but has the venerability of every person out there and she is not untouchable. I really enjoyed the side story of Ian and Sierra I just hope there is more to come from them and that wasn't the end of it. I really liked Ben but then I did he seemed like he expected every one to love him but when brought down a few notches he learns to see whats in front of him. I think the biggest thing that I learned from this book was sometimes facing the past and leaving it there are not always easy and one you have to do to accept the future and what may be right in front of you. I loved the friendships that were formed through out this book even the ones that just didn't seem to fit.
This book is totally going in my personal library I can't wait to read more about this group of people and see what happens next.
