What's the book about:
Running away didn't solve anything ... at least, not the first time.
Intensive care nurse Mackenzie Jones is no stranger to running. As a teenager she fled her family home, leaving tragedy and loss in her wake. Now, after fifteen years alone in Sydney, with the strain of working in a city hospital wearing her thin, she's tempted to run again.
Mackenzie jumps at the chance to work in a mining town in the Western Australian desert – anything to lift her spirits. Though she barely dares to hope, she wonders if she might find the kind of love that can ease her loneliness.
In the outback, Nathan Kennedy is at a loose end. He's been making money in the mines for years, and pressure from his family to return to the east coast, settle down and get married is reaching fever pitch. The problem is, he hasn't met the right woman.
When Mackenzie turns up in town, there's an instant attraction between her and Nathan, maybe even true love. But tragedy's not done with Mackenzie Jones – the past is about to catch up with her in more ways than one.
Can Nathan convince Mackenzie to stop running, or is this just another tragedy in the making?
My thoughts on the book:
Mackenzie knows its time to take a look at her life and make some changes. As she is getting older she has decided that maybe love is not in the cards for her and she wonders if it ever was. She has distance her self from her family long ago, but longs for the family she lost and wonders if its to late to get them back. When she finds herself at a point in her life where she thinks she my finally have an answer to all the questions she's been asking herself lately, life and her past sneaks up on her and she finds the secrets that are hiding there may not be what she wants to find now. Nathan is sick of his family bugging him to settle down. He has not found the one and will not settle down till he does. When he gets news from his sister he wonders if going home and settling down is going to happen a lot sooner then he thought.
What I love about this book instead of the author giving you the impression these characters are flawless with little wrong in there life, she has given you imperfect characters with a imperfect love story for you to fall in love with.It truly feels like you are catching up with friends more then reading a book. You are completely drawn into the book and you find yourself turning the pages, getting drawn in and getting lost in them. This book is a good clean fun romance and for once a fresh of breath air, compared to other books that are out right now. I can't really say there is anything in this book I did not like even up to the very last page is has you drawn in and it seemed when there is no more to give or surprise you Ms. Edwards has managed to throw that out the window with a surprise, or a twist. If you are truly looking for a really fun book with imperfect but real characters this is the book for you. <br>Disclosure: I received this book free of charge from the publisher, but this review consists of my honest opinions, not influenced in any way by the author or publisher
