Something Borrowed Megan Ryder Lone Star Match #2

Description:

Brigid Anderson is a second year lawyer on a fast track to making partner. With the weight of her siblings' success on her shoulders, Brigid feels like she needs to prove something–to herself and to her parents. Her life is running smoothly and all according to plan...until she meets Grady.

Grady Coughlin understands focus and ambition, having taken over his father's contracting business and building it into a successful historic preservation business on his own. After a blind date with Brigid that ends in explosive passion, they embark on a friends with benefits relationship. But as Grady establishes himself in the business world, he decides he wants more and wants it with Brigid.

On the eve of her best friend's wedding, with her promotion to partner dangling within reach, Brigid believes Grady isn't the best partner to suit her career ambition. But Grady and her heart don't agree and she must decide if she should stick to the safety of the plan or find the courage to pursue what she really wants

My thoughts on the book:

Brigid has always followed the rules, always trying to get to the next junction in life. She has the pressure of her family to be the next biggest better thing and its starting to seem like its never going to be enough but she knows she needs to keep trying to get there at all cost. Grady has the pressure to reconnect with someone in his past and he would rather leave that person there, the way the left him. He's is helping build his dad's business and finally getting to a point he want it all in life. He just now needs to convince Brigid that there is more to there relationship than just sex. Can he get past her defenses or will he just walk away with another broken heart?
I really want to like this book. I did I enjoy the storyline and how the value of friendship was so important in this book. I really enjoyed how the author made characters very vulnerable and more real. I did not like how self absorb and snobby all of the characters came across, while I know that was probably what the author was going for it became annoying at how relevant it became in the book. There is strong language through out this book as well as adult scenes which may not be suitable for all readers. Overall I give this book 3.5/5 it was a fun and quick read!
