Her Heart's Desire Shelley Shepard Gray

 Description:
Mary Margaret Miller needs an escape from her small Amish community. She boards a bus, all alone, for a vacation in Pinecraft, Florida. Meeting Betsy and Lilly on the way, she's amazed to find two kindred spirits. They become fast friends and determine to have the best two weeks of their lives. For Mary, it starts when she meets Jayson Raber. The handsome and charming carpenter is taken by Mary from the get-go, but he has responsibilities back home in Kentucky--including a girl he's supposed to marry.

When someone from Mary's past shows up in Pinecraft, it seems like her perfect vacation is ruined. But that's nothing compared to what's coming when she realizes what Jayson has been hiding.

Take a vacation with
New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray as she explores what happens when we allow our pasts to define our futures in this story of friendship, romance, and new beginnings.

My Review:
I did like this story overall it has some good lessons in it. However I did find that this book is more for a younger (teenage maybe early 20's) reader. If you have ever been bullied or been a bully this book hits it home how it affects both sides of the coin. I liked all the characters, however some of my favorite was Joy she was a pistol and so feisty she said it like she saw it and held nothing back for sure one of my favorites. I also really like Nancy she felt more like a surrogate mom to all those that came into her in she was wise and willing to give advice if needed and willing to help even in the little things she overall was my favorite. I found that this book was a clean read and over all would be suitable for all ages.

Everyone's a Critic Nikki Lynn Barrett

  Description:
She’s a single mother struggling with abandonment. He’s a travel writer trying to get past a traumatic, isolated childhood.

Laura Feldmen never thought this would be her: a single mother at nearly twenty-seven. A former bully, Laura made people’s lives miserable. Now that the tables have turned, she finds out who her real friends are. Imagine her surprise when the people who support her are the ones she used to torment. Her father has given her an ultimatum: she has a year to find herself and not attach herself to imperfect men while raising her infant daughter.

Cooper Dawson comes to Cinnamon Bay on a mission. A travel writer, he’s eager to visit the beachside small town. His dream job is just within reach, but that changes when he meets Laura and recognizes something in her that he understands all too well.

Cooper’s the kind of guy Laura would have picked on before. Now she’s searching for redemption while he longs for a way to find his place in the world. Is it possible for two opposites to find healing together?

My Review:
I feel like this author gets deep in emotions and then drags them out of your heart as you are reading and that was very much the case with this book. I felt so many emotions while reading this. I Liked Laura a lot she wanted to do right by her daughter and those people she hurt. Cooper had a rough go at things early in life and his story is so powerful, he was such an amazing read. This book was very good and I could not put it down. This book does have adult situations and may not be suitable for all ages. I will say the only thing I did not like was the end, I was left with so many questions. But if you know this author you know she is not done with a character and I am sure we will see more of Cooper and Laura. Also I loved Julian he's got such a big heart and I can't wait for his story.
