Cowboy Honor Carolyn Brown- Longhorn Canyon #2

Description:
From the New York Times bestselling cowboy queen comes "a story that is sure to please fans" about a "slow-simmering romance" and the "simple pleasures of ranch life" (Publishers Weekly). Includes a bonus novella by Katie Lane!

Patience was never one of her virtues. After her SUV runs off the road in the middle of a Texas blizzard and her cell stops working, Claire Mason is about to snap. Getting back home to Oklahoma with her four-year-old niece is top priority. And lucky for her, help comes in the form of a true Texas cowboy...

Levi Jackson has always been a sucker for strays. So he can't help getting involved when he comes across Claire and her little niece shivering in the cold. By offering them a place to stay until her car is fixed, he can make sure the two are taken care of - and get to know the sassy Claire better.

What starts as something awkward and temporary starts feeling cozier by the minute. And soon Levi is hoping he can convince Claire she has a permanent place in his heart.

Plus, bonus story "O Little Town of Bramble" by Katie Lane!
All Ethan Miller wants for Christmas is to celebrate in Bramble, Texas, with family and friends. But when his childhood neighbor comes home for the holiday, Ethan realizes that the girl-next-door could be the girl of his dreams.

My thoughts on the book:

A women with sass, a gun and a sassy nieces to boot and a hot cowboy comes to the rescue what more could you ask for and what could go wrong. This story was a super fun read. I loved how the way the author wrote the story made the way that things played out was very organic and not rushed. I loved that she took two really strong willed and people and let things just play out the way they lie. I  really enjoyed Zaylie she really brought so much to this story and you find yourself laughing a lot. This story does have adult situations but over all I could not see any piece of this story missing everything just seem to work and seemed to fit. I have not read the first book in the series but I am so going to grab it I can't wait to see where the author takes the characters in the next book. I would totally recommend this book it was so fun and one of the sweetest loves stories.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Silver Bay series
Book 1: Return to Silver Bay
Book 2: Loving Kate
Book 3: Saving Drew

My thoughts on the book:
Maggie has come home for a short time to lay her dad to rest and close up her parents house and make a choice on where to go next. She is also facing her high school sweetheart and it seems that everything in her world has been turned upside down and secrets aren't always best hidden. Josh is so happy to see Maggie, when she walked out of his life all those years ago he feels like he lost something now that she's back he has it in his heart and in his mind to win her back.
I fell in love with this book and these characters right away what a fun group. I really enjoyed reading the struggles and how the friends came together to work with each other. I loved how the storyline was easy to follow and draws you in and keeps your attention all the way to the end. This book is for sure a real page turner. I also really enjoyed that the book was a good clean romance. You seriously can't go wrong with this book can't wait to read more from this group of friends.

The First Gift Ruth Logan Herne

Description:

Bringing to mind classics like Catherine Marshall’s Christy, society’s standards are put to the test and a Northern Appalachian town comes together to save a neglected child in Ruth Logan Herne’s new romance, The First Gift. This poignant novel tells the story of five-year-old Cassie Carruthers, who lives in a bug-infested shack in the hills of Western New York’s Southern Tier. Her mother has died and Cassie spends her days fending for herself while her alcoholic father drinks himself into a stupor. But Cassie’s isolation has not gone unnoticed in the tightknit community of Phillipsburg. When a concerned neighbor alerts the county, the community sets a plan in motion to rescue the neglected little girl. Through fundraising efforts, Cassie is tucked into the kindergarten classroom of independent, beautiful Kerry McHenry. Kerry has her work cut out for her in dealing with Cassie’s depressed father, but despite the child’s loveless start in life, she soon reveals herself to be an intelligent, eager student. Moreover, she possesses a resourcefulness that has saved her life more than once—and will be called upon again. Kerry McHenry is nobody’s fool. She sees her own tough upbringing in Cassie’s dire situation, so she works tirelessly to guide the young girl, trying to help her become everything that God wants her to be. At the same time, she finds herself torn between a commitment-phobic pediatric oncologist from a nearby town and Phillipsburg’s widowed deputy sheriff, a complicated man who is still angry with God. As the stakes grow ever higher and the characters’ lives intersect in unexpected ways, each will face a true test of faith—and come face to face with indisputable evidence of God’s love.

My thoughts on the book:

Cassie is living a hard life at such a young age when a group of people set out to try and help all the know how to do. Kerry loves teaching but when she is given the task at helping a young child in need things from her own past out brought to the forefront. Jake has a beautiful family at home his only loss is his beloved wife and his mom and sister keep encouraging him to get out there, but he needs to deal with some bigger things first.
I will start off saying I really loved the storyline of this book. The book gets to the matter of the heart in a lot of place and leaves you hoping for the best and holding your breath in some places. I did not like that there was so many characters and so many different view points I wish in a way that the story could have been told in the view points of less as it seemed to be confusing at some points. There are some very intense parts in this book and so very hard subject dealt with. Every time the point of Cassie came up my heart would just break for the little girl I was beyond in love with her little character. Over all I would say this book is worth the read and just connecting with each character may add an element to it, its worth it in the end.
