Save It for a Rainy Day Nikki Lynn Barrett Life Won't Wait #4

 Description:

Sam Bennedict has no memories of his life prior to a capture in a war plagued zone. Once a journalist covering the front lines, now he's tormented with nightmares, headaches, and wounds that may never heal. He'd gone MIA and presumed dead, all the while, his family's life went to hell back home.

Now he's returned, trying to acclimate to his new surroundings. Old journals lead him to the niece he left behind, and the woman who adopted her while he was away.

Stacey McGinnis became her brother's guardian at nineteen after a murder/suicide left them alone in the world. She still had plans and dreams, but put them aside not only once, but twice. When a neglected young girl ended up being the one person to save her brother from a painful decision, Stacey knew what she had to do.

When her officially adopted daughter's uncle returns, broken and alone, she will stop at nothing to help him any way she can.

He worries about his quality of life from the after effects of all he went through, and she's struggling with her daughter's changes in wants and needs.

Somehow, the two come together in ways they never imagined, but is love in the cards for these damaged souls?

My thoughts on the book:

Well she freaking did it again, I swear this author's books need to come with some sort of warning, aka this book will need at least two boxes of tissues and maybe one stiff drink, now that I have given you are warning let me tell you my thoughts. This book was SO good but also so emotional and gut wrenching Sam is really going through hell to get back to those he loves but also trying to find who he is. I loved Stacy she always wanted to help those she loves and forgets about herself. I feel like she is so relatable and so someone I feel like I could be friends with. Lily and her story in this just broke my heart I won't give anything away but WOW OH WOW!!! Over all this book was so powerful and so good I really could not put this down and I was glad to read more about Winnie, Parker, Tucker, and Quinn. I can't wait to see where the author goes next with this group but I am sure we all won't be disappointed. For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes and descriptions of physical and sexual content. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
