Luke's Gift Kaylie Newell -Harlow brothers # 2

Description:
After serving in the Army, Luke Harlow returns home in time for the holidays to help his brothers raise their twelve-year-old half-sister. With his new job as Marietta's police officer, Luke finds himself in the middle of a festive mystery that the entire town will want solved before Christmas morning.

Mary Best is Marietta Courier's most promising young reporter. When she starts spending time with sexy Luke Harlow to write an article about his heroic military service, she begins to suspect there’s more to this new police recruit than meets the eye. He’s kind, generous, and very mysterious. When anonymous gifts start appearing around town for people in need, Mary knows there’s a story there. A magical one. It doesn’t take long for the breadcrumbs to lead right back to Luke.

As the gifts pile up, so does everyone’s urge to unmask Marietta’s secret Santa. Luke is deeply private, and Mary is deeply curious- opposites who’ll find themselves tumbling toward each other amidst the snowy backdrop of a town fully embraced in the spirit of Christmas. But when Mary uncovers Luke’s secret, will she be able to bury her reporter’s instincts for the sake of love? And will Luke finally be able to trust someone with his heart?

My thoughts on the book:

Sometimes not knowing can be a blessing and a curse, or at least that is what Mary is faced with when she seeks with the towns help to find out who the Christmas Santa is.  I loved the story and the meaning behind this story it was completely heartfelt and it easily put you in the Christmas spirit. I also loved how the author didn't make Christmas all commercialized but showed the heart of Christmas in this story. I loved Maddie when ever she appeared in the story she was a force to recon with, to me her personality just jumped off the pages. This book was a super quick read and so fun to read. I think the only thing I was not a fan of was all the strong language I could have gone with out, but to each his own. I will say this I did not read the first book in this series but I plan on going back to just to read about Tanner's story. If you are looking for a fun read to put you in the Christmas spirit this book will not disappoint you at all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Christmas at the Graff Kaylie Newell

Description:

When Jemma Banks’ father breaks his pelvis, she only comes to Marietta to take care of him because it’s close to Christmas and he has nobody else. He abandoned her as a teenager and even though he’s desperate to make amends, she’s determined to leave with the frosty walls around her heart firmly intact.

Local physical therapist EJ Corpa is good at three things: sex, snowboarding, and healing. When he lays eyes on his patient’s daughter for the first time, he knows he wants to show her all three. Jemma is beautiful, stoic and guarded. But deep down, he sees a woman who’s longing for a little fun. When she agrees to help with his clinic’s tree for the Mistletoe and Marietta auction, the armor she’s so carefully constructed begins to fall away, and the magic of the holiday season takes hold.

As EJ and Jemma fall for each other, she will finally consider peace and forgiveness. And EJ will begin to see that life’s adventures are more thrilling when there’s someone to share them with.

My thoughts on the book:

Jemma is in Marietta to help take care of her dad who she has not seen since she was a young child and he left. She hopes that she can keep her heart intact and help her dad and get back home to her sister. EJ didn't have the best childhood however he picked the best thing up, which is helping people heal. When he is set to help Joe his best friend with Physical therapy it seems he gets a lot more then he expected.  Can they both find healing in the most unlikely of places

This book will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit.  Bob is hands down my favorite in the book I agree with EJ he is everyone who loves Christmas "spirit animal". I feel like the characters were fun and easy to follow. I really enjoyed how EJ was a "free" by fun and independent spirit yet was really willing to help those who needed it the most. I love the town of Marietta it seems that no matter what time of the year you are reading a book Marietta seems Magical. Two broken people with a past history of people letting them down and hoping to find healing one. This book will not disappoint. This book does have strong and adult language.
