The Family Man Kelly Eadon Cover

I am super excited to work with Kelly to reveal her upcoming book.

HERE'S KELLY EADON,

Kelly Eadon is a romance writer living in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and a house full of rescue animals, aka “the kraken”. She swears like a sailor and says whatever pops into her head. In order to counteract her big mouth, she wears high heels whenever possible. In her spare time she spins, kick boxes and attempts to renovate her farmhouse. She hates sanding drywall, loves to cook, drinks lots of wine, gets scary competitive at trivia, and enjoys time spent exploring with her rescued beagle mixes.

She is represented by Dawn Dowdle at the Blueridge Agency and writes for Grand Central, an imprint of Machete.
Here is her latest book coming out soon:
THE FAMILY MAN

What the book is about:
TEMPTATION NEVER TASTED SO SWEET...

When life hands lemons to Beth Beverley, she makes mouthwatering lemon squares. Mostly because they're coveted by the sexy single dad who owns Belmont's most popular coffee shop. But that's where her crush on Griffin has to end. Her sweet treats are selling like crazy cakes in his shop, and she doesn't mix business with pleasure. Too bad his sinful smile has her flirting with the idea of forever.
Griffin Hall definitely needs to keep his eyes--and his hands--off Beth. Since he's traded in late-night gigs and partying for bedtime stories with his little girl in his arms, he doesn't have time for anything else. So why does Beth's big heart and easy way with his daughter make him finally feel alive again? But there's a little secret Beth doesn't know, something he can't bear to tell her . . .

Go grab her first book in the series The Wedding Date.  You can grab your copy at Amazon and why your there pre-order The Family Man.  You can check out my review of The Wedding Date here.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Peppercorn Project Nicki Edwards

What's the book about:
One heartbroken woman. One bitter cop. One community to save them.

After the tragic death of her husband, single mum Isabelle Cassidy is bereft and broke. When she hears about The Peppercorn Project – a scheme that offers affordable rent in the tiny but vibrant town of Stony Creek – Issie sees it as her family's best chance at a fresh start.

Newly single police officer Matt Robertson moved to Stony Creek to lick his wounds after a bitter divorce. Wanting only peace and quiet, Matt is against the Project, seeing it as a threat to the peace he's found in the country town – until he meets Issie. Despite himself, Matt is drawn to the widow and feels inexplicably protective of her fragile family.

Just when Issie begins to imagine a future with Matt, an accident proves how far she has to go before she can move beyond her grief. But the citizens of Stony Creek won't rest until they see these two broken souls find a new beginning, together.

Can Issie move beyond the pain of her past and entrust Matt with her family, and her heart?

My thoughts on the book:

"Issie" Isabelle Cassidy has lost her husband and has lost everything. She has no idea what she's going to do, all she has is her kids and a hope for a future. When she sees an ad for a the Peppercorn project she decides that the plan. Her son is not happy her daughter is ready for any adventure. But will she be able to heal from the lost of her husband or will she loose everything including this opportunity before it all gets started?
Matt has been living in Stoney Creek for 18 months he has his secrets and he also is fighting the drug war in Australia they all say its the city cop in him but he knows theres something up and he is not to keen to have all these people taking over his new city. When he has a run in with Issie and her kids he knows he needs to know everything about her and he wants her in his life. But when an accident happens he wonders if he will loose the chance to get to know her forever or if he will be able to make things right with her and show her and her kids how much they are valued in the community.

Nicki has done it again, this book is amazing. I had a hard time putting it down and before you know it its over and you just are left wanting to reading so much more of these fun characters. I loved how its about family and creating family. I loved how you feel like you are catching up with a friend instead of reading a book. I loved everything about this book, I loved how everything seemed natural between the characters instead of in some books where it seems forced or not very natural. It really makes you want to read it again just to catch up with everyone again. This book will not let you down and will have you wanting more. I hope in the feature to read a story both Leah and Rachael stories.

Medical Judgement, Richard L. Mabry, M.D.

What's the book about:

Someone is after Dr. Sarah Gordon. They’ve stalked her and set a fire at her home. Trying to recover from the traumatic deaths of her husband and infant daughter is tough enough, but she has no idea what will come next. Her late husband’s best friend and a recovering alcoholic detective are trying to solve the mystery before it’s too late, but both appear to be vying for her affection as well. Sarah finds herself in constant fear as the process plays out.
As the threats on her life continue to escalate, so do the questions: Who is doing this? Why are they after her? And with her only help being unreliable suitors in competition with each other, whom can she really trust?

My thoughts on the book:

Sarah has lost it all her husband and daughter and she feels like she has lost herself. When someone sets out to destroy her, she starts to wonder what God has in store for her and if she will survive it or will she have to keep fighting the unknown. She also is starting to wonder if she is sending off the wrong signal to men because she just doesn't feel like something is right and her husbands best friend Kyle seems to want to take things further then she's ready and now she wondering who can she trust now that someone is set to torcher her. Will she get to the bottom or will she end up hurt or maybe dead?
This book was amazing, its not a love story at all. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and just when you think you have it figured out it throws something else at you. I really enjoyed this book its the first one I have read from this author and I must say I am not a fan of male authors there always seems to be some sort of disconnect in the stories I have read and this was not the case this story just was so amazing and well written I could not find one thing wrong with it that I didn't like. I liked how the author made the focus around Sarah but had other characters in the book who had struggles that added to her story. This book will keep you guessing all the way to the end even when you think you have it figured out be prepared for some twist and turns.

The Wedding Date Kelly Eadon

What's the book about:

A LITTLE FAKE RELATIONSHIP NEVER HURT ANYONE . . .

Kate Massie has big dreams-they just haven't worked out. Yet. In the meantime, she spends her days clerking for a judge and her nights fantasizing about her tall, dark, and sexy gym crush. So when she runs into him one night, she's shocked to realize he was her shy, nerdy junior-prom date. But that isn't where the surprises end . . .

James Abell needs a date to his sister's wedding. So when Kate agrees, he's relieved . . . until one little lie turns their wedding date into a full-blown fake relationship. Only it doesn't feel fake-not the toe-curling kisses and definitely not the electricity. Neither of them is looking for something real . . . but they just might fall for their own little white lie.

My thoughts on the book:

Kate is back in Belmont a place she called home for most her life but a place she never really gave much thought in coming back to after college. When she runs into a guy at the gym she knows she much meet the star of her dreams. When she does she knows he will need to remain in the friend zone to keep her heart in tacked. James in so happy to see her at the gym he can't wait to "run" into her again. He is beyond happy when his best friend gives him that chance but he not happy with her matchmaking or her crazy ideas. When Kate agrees to be his date to his sisters wedding will he be able to protect her from his crazy family?
I totally loved all the crazy fun characters in this book. It seemed to me like a backwards cinderella story, almost. Kate had dreams and James had dreams but making those dreams seemed almost impossible and the author did a great job at keeping the crazy in the story to a perfect amount to keep you drawn in and leaving you wanting more. I loved how it didn't feel drawn out but the perfect fun story. This is the perfect captivating summer read for any person who loves the perfect crazy not so perfect love story.

Traces of Guilt Dee Henderson Evie Blackwell Cold case #1

What's the book about:
Evie Blackwell loves her life as an Illinois State Police Detective . . . mostly. She's very skilled at investigations and has steadily moved up through the ranks. She would like to find Mr. Right, but she has a hard time imagining how marriage could work, considering the demands of her job.

Gabriel Thane is a lifetime resident of Carin County and now its sheriff, a job he loves. Gabe is committed to upholding the law and cares deeply for the residents he's sworn to protect. He too would like to find a lifetime companion, a marriage like his parents have.

When Evie arrives in Carin, Illinois, it's to help launch a new task force dedicated to reexamining unsolved crimes across the state. Spearheading this trial run, Evie will work with the sheriff's department on a couple of its most troubling missing-persons cases. As she reexamines old evidence to pull out a few tenuous new leads, she unearths a surprising connection . . . possibly to a third cold case. Evie's determined to solve the cases before she leaves Carin County, and Sheriff Thane, along with his family, will be key to those answers.

My thoughts on the book:
There are quiet a few characters in this book they all play a part heres my thoughts.

  •           Gabriel: Has a heart of gold he loves living in his home city he's the sheriff an has a few cases that have gone cold and is all to happy to have someone take a look at them and he will do just about anything to protect those in his city, even if that means digging into peoples lives that would rather have things hidden. He is also told some secrets that will affect his family and he knows he needs to keep a close eye out and protect them as well. But will he be able to do it all.
  •       Evie: She has a easy detachment from her cases but can easily find a way to connect and hope to find a way to solve every case. When she finds out that the soon to be Governor is leading a group to close cases in her state she sets out to prove she is good enough to be on that team. She uses her vacation to take on two cases. But will she be able to solve the case and keep everyone at arms length or will she in the end have to walk away and leave the case cold?
  •       Will and Karen:Even though Will and Karen play a small part in the book its still there. They both have secrets in there past and each wondering if it will destroy them?
  •       Josh and Grace: Josh has always loved Grace since they were kids. When Ann asks for a favor and it involves letting Grace back in his life he is determined to do whatever it is no matter the cost. But will it destroy them both or will he have a chance to get the first and only love back?
  • Ann and Paul: Ann and Paul from the book have a pretty big role in this book they were fun to catch up with and see whats happening in there lives.

This book was hard to put down from the beginning I was on the edge of my seat the whole time needing to know what is happening. There is a lot of speculation in the book just like any missing person or cold case and you find yourself trying to find out before they figure it out, it reminds me of the show Disappeared. There are a lot of moving parts in the book and switch between a the key players listed above but Dee has done a good job starting each section with who its about, it really did not seem hard to keep up as each had something to do at the time and played a key part at that time in the story. There really is not much of a love story here at all, which kind of bummed me out. I think the only thing I did not like about this book is the end. I am not sure if there will be more books in this series but I have a feeling that there is still more to be told and I will say the end leaves you wanting more. If you are looking for a book that you can't put down then this is the book for you but just know this is not a typical book of Dee Henderson's that I have ever read in the past.

Love of the Game, Stardust, Texas #3 Lori Wilde

What's the book about:
A sexy sports superstar discovers his body isn’t the only thing that needs healing in this newest Stardust, Texas novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde.
With major league good looks and talent, Dallas Gunslingers relief pitcher Axel Richmond was living the good life. Even if the roar of the crowd could never distract him from the loss of his young son. But now with an injured shoulder and his career on the line, Axel is stuck recuperating at a ranch in Stardust, Texas . . . striking out only with his gorgeous physical therapist.
Kasha Carlyle has one week to get Axel back in action or she can kiss her much-needed job with the Gunslingers goodbye. And any chance to seek custody of the orphaned half-sister she never knew existed. She quickly learns that Axel’s guarded heart also needs healing . . . requiring all kinds of sneaky plays and sexy moves in extra innings.

  • Praise for Lori Wilde’s Stardust, Texas Series and Love Of The Game
  • “Amusing, passionate, and rampant with sexual tension, this magic dusted escapade is just plain fun and a wonderful harbinger of things to come. Wilde is an expert at developing endearing Texas communities and here gives fans another one to savor.”—Library Journal
  • “[A] sweet and sexy story of first love, small towns, and family.”—Booklist
  • “Wilde brings readers to Stardust, Texas, where baseball and romance are the name of the game . . . Wilde has another winner.”—RT Book Reviews
My thoughts on the book:
Axel was doing what he loved playing baseball and living the life. When an injury left him with a choice of surgery he noticed Kasha and wanted her opinion, when she said relax he knew he had to take the chance and relax. He was dealing with the loss of his son and he knows that he needs to add that to the healing process. But will he be able to heal and keep his promise to his son and he's dream alive?
Kasha knows what its like to live in hell. When she discovers she has a half sister who has a disability she sets out to become her legal guardian and the includes getting the job at Gunslingers as a physical therapist, but when she opens her mouth and gives her opinion she puts everything on the line including protecting her heart. But will she be able to have it all and will she let Axel in to break down the walls she has had since she lost her parents or will the secret be to much and will she loose it all.
I really, really enjoyed this book. There is passion, there is love, there is heartbreak, there is fun and there is joy and hurt but it all makes for a wonderful book. It was a real pager turner leaving you wanting more with each chapter. I really felt like I was catching up with friends in the book and not reading a story of fiction. The author does and amazing job in telling a story where it brings awareness to Down syndrome. There really is not anything I did not like about this book. While there are some adult scenes in this book I would not recommend to just anyone. You really can not go wrong with this sweet love story of healing, hope and finding who you are.

Matt R.C. Ryan

What's the book about:
Raised beneath the big Montana sky, Matt Malloy was never meant to be a jet-setting businessman. But he'll do anything to protect the family ranch he shares with his brothers. Coming home after a two-week trip to Italy, Matt wants nothing more than to shed his suit and tie for a well-worn pair of jeans and ride his horse up to the cabin for some alone time. The last thing he needs is a big-city lawyer invading his privacy-even if she is the most beautiful woman he's ever seen . . .

Vanessa Kettering has devoted her life to her work. As a passionate animal rights defender, she doesn't have room for anything else. But from the moment she meets Matt, she's taken with this rugged cowboy's lazy smile and tender touch. When a raging storm traps them inside his cabin for the night, one steamy kiss leads to another, sweeping them away with a force that's as wild and untamed as the land he loves. But when the morning light comes, will she lose her heart?

My thoughts on the book:

Matt has his whole life ahead of him he keeps those he loves close to him and he would do just about anything for all of them. When he gets back from a business trip, he goes to the "cabin" in the wood to get refreshed and his mind back on ranching. When his Grandma ask him to take a meeting with a high powered lawyer he never expects Vanessa. They both have secrets but his is to protect his family and show her what the wild life and ranching is all about.
Vanessa is on a mission to get the best in the business to help her in saving wild life, when she fly into Montana she doesn't expect to be meeting with the grandson but she make the best she can. She is ready to go back home and she get a phone call that will change her life but she never expected this family to step in and help her. But will they be able to help her and will she be able to keep her heart in tact and stay alive?
I really had fun reading this book it starts off perfect then its like a roller coaster and your sitting in the back you can't see whats coming but you know its going to be good when it happens. The book is a real page turner and has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I loved how even though there seemed to be a handful of character is flowed perfect and it was not hard to keep up. You truly end up falling for each one and walking away feeling like you just met up with friends. I can wait to read more from this bunch and find out what other fun adventures they will take you one. I am really pulling for all of them and the Love they share is just genuine. I will say there was one small part in the book that just didn't seem to fit and that the author may have been trying to hard, but it was such a small part it doesn't take away from the book. IF you are looking for a fun adventure to take you place this book doesn't disappoint.
