The Bachelor Contract Victoria James

  Description:
New mom May Peterson can’t believe she’s back in her hometown. She has eight weeks to fix up, and sell, her childhood home. Just enough to say hello to her best friend and goodbye to her painful past. But in the warm, tightly-knit community of Maple Hill, it’s impossible to avoid anyone—especially the cute “boy next door.” And while May is definitely over the idea of love, his irresistible smile still makes her toes curl…

When they were kids, Austin Merrick only ever saw May as his sister’s best friend. Over time, they’d become friends, sharing late-night chats over cheddar popcorn. Now May Peterson has returned with an adorable baby that quickly wraps him around her little finger. But after seeing the damage a broken heart can do, Austin and his brother made an agreement: to never, ever fall in love. No marriage. No kids. Ever.

Now they’re working together to fix up her old home, and sparks of attraction are making it almost impossible to keep to their no-romance rules. But when it comes to love, hearts never play by the rules…especially when it comes to finding “the one.”

My Review:
If you have ever dealt with or know someone who has dealt with Mental illness this book will have you all up in your feeling for sure. The author did an amazing job making you feel like. you were sitting down catch up with friends I didn't read the first book in the series but still felt like I was right there watching it all play out. May was so relatable she was a survivor of her childhood but that did not stop her from fighting for what she wanted. Austin grew up so different but due to a situation in his life he built walls around his heart and sometimes if felt he was to stubborn to see what was right in front of him. I loved his family his sister Callie was no holds bar she was not going to let her brothers get away with anything. There is adult content in this book so may not be suitable for all. Overall super quick read and well worth it.

The Cowboy's Christmas Jeannie Watt

 Description:
Christmas in Marietta, Montana, is a season of magic and second chances...

Wayward cowboy Quinn Harding doesn’t have a secret—he is a secret. Or he was until his rancher brothers learned of his existence and insisted on meeting up. But Quinn’s reluctant—he’s always been a lone cowboy, enjoying his quiet isolation and taking pride in his ranch work. He’s not a man who’s ever dreamed of a home or family, but when an accident forces him into temporary employment at a small family ranch, he begins to rethink his life’s choices.

Since losing her husband two years ago during the holidays, Savannah Dunn has dodged people and Christmas, preferring the beauty and solitude of her ranch. But now that she’s playing temporary parent to her twin nieces, she desperately needs to rekindle her holiday spirit and sense of fun for the sake of the girls.

Can she and the quiet, gorgeous ranch hand bring the joy of Christmas to the ranch without either of them losing their hearts?

My Review:
I thought this book was cute. I laughed a lot but I also felt that if got to the heart of the matter as well. I Liked Quinn he had such a big heart and he just over all was a good person. I liked how he didn't try to pretend everything was ok with what took place with his brothers but tried to work through it on his own time. I liked Savannah she also cared a lot for those she loved, but I also feel that she also was very stand offish which made her hard to connect with. I felt like she really did live in the grief. I loved the girls and Deke they were just really hard not to like they added a fun element to this story for sure. Overall all this was a fun read and well work it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Paradise Cove Jenny Holiday

Description:

Dr. Nora Walsh has just been dumped in spectacular fashion, making it the perfect time for a major life change. She figures taking over the medical practice in tiny Matchmaker Bay for a couple of years will help her get over her broken heart, and then she can head back to the big city. But when the first man she sees looks like a superhero god, she wonders if maybe there's something to small-town living after all.
Jake Ramsey also has a broken heart -- one he never expects to heal. He doesn't need people anyway and is content hiding out in his secluded cottage on the beach. But after helping Nora with a medical emergency, he finds himself opening up to the witty, warmhearted doctor. Soon the local matchmakers are working overtime to pair them off, and Jake begins to wonder if his campaign to get Nora to stay is for the town or because he can't bear the thought of her leaving.

My thoughts on the book:

I mean who doesn't like a life reset after a terrible break up, thats exactly what Nora was doing with moving even if it was only temporary. I liked Nora she was feisty, independent and ready to take on the town of Moonflower bay. I really like Dr. Walsh SR I could see what a pistol she was and where Nora and her sister got it. I had a love hate relationship with Jake, I like him sometime and the stuff he faced was very deep and I could relate, but then he would do something and he came off as annoying and I was ready to just punch him. Oh my Kerri even her part was small but oh my the author had a way of Kerri getting right into your heart as well. I loved the closeness of the community and the friends and how they would do just about anything for each other. I did feel like there were a few parts of the book that did drag which was hard but over all the story was good and a twist on a love story. There is sex in this story so may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Neighing with Fire Kathryn O'Sullivan (Colleen McCabe Series)

What's the book about:
Fire Chief Colleen McCabe is enjoying a quiet summer and her budding romance with Sheriff Bill Dorman. However, her peaceful start to the tourist season is shattered when a tropical storm blows through Corolla and unearths a body buried under a vacation home boardwalk. When callous land developer Denny Custis dies in a suspicious fire, Colleen has a hunch the two deaths are linked. As she and Bill investigate, they discover that virtually everyone, including Colleen, has had a beef or run-in with Denny and a motive for murder. When Pinky Salvatore becomes the primary suspect, Colleen is determined to clear his name. Despite his and Denny's well-documented housing development rivalry, Colleen is convinced that the real killer is still out there. While digging through an ever-widening list of suspects, Bill and Colleen become embroiled in a vicious battle between those committed to saving Corolla's wild horses, those protecting the endangered piping plover shore bird, and a greedy tour company who would destroy their habitats.
Neighing with Fire is the third entry in Kathryn O'Sullivan's cozy series known for its colorful characters, strong setting and thoroughly charming humor.

My thoughts on the book:
Scandal rocks the small town of Corolla and now its Colleen and Bills job to find out what in the heck is happening to there small and peaceful town. In the mean time they have a new "relationship" if you want to call it that, that they are working and discovering. Bill is trying to find out who killed Denny all the while keeping his jealousy intact. Colleen is just set out to figure out whats going on between her and Bill so she can put a name to it finally and all the while find out who is setting fires and killing people, all while putting her self in harms way or is she?
I have not read the other books in the series it didn't take long to follow the story though. I would not say there was a whole lot of romance in this book there was a little but what draws you into this book is the mystery, and trying to find out what happens next. This book took me less the a day to read as it was a real page turner and you find it hard to put down because you really want to know whats going to happen. I would say if you are looking for a good decent book with not a lot of "romance" but a well written story line then this is the book for you.

His Defiant Princess, Kathleen O'Brien, Royal Holiday Book 3

What's the book about:

Brenna Tinley has decided to move to the Unified Isles of Cornetta, a fairy-tale kingdom just south of France in the Bay of Biscay to escape the recent tragedies in her personal life. The happiest summer she can remember was spent there, in the arms of a handsome, tender rascal who disappeared without a goodbye when Autumn came…

As fate would have it, the Royal House of Vicenza has engaged Brenna Tinley to clear up a public relations mess. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for this small-town American girl, but there’s only one problem. Her new employer, HRH Prince Ronan, aka her mystery summer lover of long ago, seems determined to pick up where they left off. Can Brenna work in the royal palace and not end up with a brand new broken heart?

My thoughts on the book:
Brenna moved with her best friend to a place that has held a special place in her heart. They have built a reputation as the best PR group in Cornetta and they hate scandal even if Brenna has been part of scandal and would rather not have to ever face or deal with it again.
Ronnie AKA Ranon has found Brenna again and he wants her like his last breath but know the first time they met he may have kept a few secrets from her and he's not sure how she will react once she finds out, well unless she already knows most of them, but when scandal rattles his family and he needs a PR firms help he thinks he as the best one in mind but he's really not sure if Brenna will help him.
This book is a very short read , simple but fun pact with a lot of fun characters. The storyline is well written and it has you wanting to find out whats going to happen next. The story doesn't ever get boring or slow the author did an amazing job engaging the reader and leaving you wanting more to the las page. If you are looking for a fun read but something you can know out in a couple of hours then this book is for you and you won't regret it.

Deja Date Susan Hatler

What's the book about:

(Better Date than Never series, Book 9)
Melinda Morgan commits to running her favorite neighborhood bakery when the owner, who’s like a second dad to her, falls ill. Then she finds out his adventurous son, Nate Carter, is back in town. Nate was Melinda’s first kiss and greatest heartbreak all rolled into one, yet he’s still as charming as ever.
When Melinda learns Nate’s dad is selling his bakery, she realizes her dream to own the bakery herself. But in order to access her inheritance funds, she must first complete her father’s Carpe Diem list, which challenges her to take risks she normally wouldn’t—like only dating someone who leaves her breathless.
Nate wants a second chance with her and she finds him nearly impossible to resist. Could he be the key to completing her dad’s list and saving the bakery? And can he help her do both without breaking her heart all over again?

My thoughts on the book:
Melinda has been working her butt off in everything she has done well except the one thing she wanted to do in her heart and that was a task she just was not ready to go after.....or was she? Nate just came home from his long stint away to find he has things on his own list of regrets he's ready to tackle....just one is being to difficult.
I really loved this fun read. I can't say that there was anything negative about it. The chemistry was fun a there almost from the beginning. The book is a short read and hour to maybe and hour and half of your time but at the end it really doesn't feel that it lacked anything to make it feel very short. I Have not read anything else in the series but this was such a fun book I can't wait to read the others in the series.

Molly Dekker hates being the town charity case, but when her son Josh is seriously injured she has no choice. She lets her best friend organize a bachelor auction to help pay her massive bills and make Josh’s life more comfortable. She can’t bid on any of the men, but a surprise bidder gives her a gift she never expected: a date with the man who saved her son’s life—the only one she’s in danger of losing her heart to.

Former Air Force pararescueman Gabriel Morales made a career of flying to the rescue, until a tragic helicopter crash stole more than his livelihood. Being auctioned off like a slab of beef isn’t in his recovery plan. Will Molly and Gabriel’s never-quit attitude have them rushing head-first into love? Or will Gabriel’s secret pain stall their relationship before it can get off the ground?

My thoughts on the book:
At first I wondered why this was not the first book in the series. As it tells you a lot about what happened with Josh that the other books kind of left vega. Gabriel is hiding in the middle of now where fighting demons only he can win over, or so he thinks.  Josh is a free spirit who I am just forever am in love with. And oh Molly Molly, Molly she is a single mom who doesn't take well to people helping her out, when her world falls apart she starts and is forced to lean on people she never thought she would.
I love this book, oh heck I love this series. I loved how this tired everything up for you and doesn't leave you with questions. I love how you get to catch up with the fun people and the crazy people of Marietta, if nothing more get all the books in the series Just so you can read this one because it will be work every bit of your time. (oh and Lily is back and this book she has a heart so big you just love her too)

Before He Was A Secret Becky Wicks

What's the book about:
“What if we can’t choose
Every battle we win and lose
What if we decided years before, to live this life, to fight these wars
And all the dreams we ever thought were ours
Were written in the stars”

Waiting tables isn't exactly what singer/songwriter Stephanie has in mind for her move to Nashville, but memories of the past and a case of writer’s block mean inspiration isn’t coming easy. When brooding pianist Conor Judge opens his mouth in a smoky bar he proves music can heal, and even help you re-write your story, but a history of his own means the one thing he starts to want most is always just out of reach. Stephanie.

Enter Travis Flynn - an upcoming star who won’t take no for an answer, and a record label intent on helping Stephanie shine, without Conor. As fame comes knocking as hard as the ghosts of their pasts, it soon becomes clear that no matter how hard you might fall in love, having the perfect songs doesn’t always mean perfect harmony.

My thoughts on the book:
After appearing on a game show Stephanie moves to Nashville in hopes to follow a life long dream of writing music and singing and making it big. She is also running from something. Conor lives in Nashville and he has ton of secrets he's trying to hide. He's doing what he love he writing music and working in the family business.
Ok so I was not a fan of this book the book is very predictable and left nothing to hope for or anticipate. The first half of the book dragged and I kept hoping the book would pick up at some point. Just over half way through the book does finally get good, however it still is very predictable, but it does stay good the rest of the book.

The Millionaire Victoria Purman

What's the book about:
Renowned photographer Chris Malone is fed up with fame and disaster. All he wants is anonymity and a chance to recharge. Suburban journalist Ellie Flannery has other ideas. If she can just convince her long-time idol to support her favorite cause, she knows her fund-raiser will be a huge success.

After refusing at first, Chris decides to co-operate. When he’s forced to defend his own reputation as well as his family’s, he decides he wants something from the idealistic and sexy-but-doesn’t-know-it Ms Flannery Ellie in return: her heart.

But Ellie has scars that no one has ever seen, and she doesn’t want to open herself up to anyone, much less a man with such an unflinching eye for the truth. Can Chris convince her to strip herself bare, in more ways than one?

My thoughts on the book:
I have to say that I really like this book, its the fourth book in the series and its end in such a sweet way. You have Ellie she is a spit fire who is all about family, friends and helping everyone else. She is running to love and not such a big fun of her job. Then you have Chris he's running for everything and just wants to spend his "holiday" doing his second love. When he run into Ellie everything seems to not be going his way. He has a heart for people and loves helping others, but he has become some what jaded doing his first love, or the question is has he? In this book it keep you going and the storyline is so well written it shows the love for others while in hopes of trying to find themselves. I really liked this book a lot.
Book 1: The Cowboy by Margareta Osborn
Book 2: The Hero by Amy Andrews
Book 3: The Playboy by Madeline Ash
Book 4: The Millionaire by Victoria Purman
Don’t let the names of the books fool you they are not self-absorbed characters that you will end up fed up with or annoyed by this book and the others are totally worth the read.

Will say there is strong language in this book.
