They're soon approached by a grieving mother who wants them to find out what happened to her teenaged son, who disappeared four years ago. River knows there's almost no hope the boy is still alive, but his mother needs closure, and River and Tony need a case, no matter how cold it might be.

But as they follow the boy's trail, which gets more complicated at every turn, they find themselves in the path of a murderer determined to punish anyone who gets in his way. As River and Tony race to stop him before he kills again, an even more dangerous threat emerges, stirring up the past that haunts River and plotting an end to her future.

My Review:
When I first stated reading this book the one word that immediately came to mind was sinister, then as I kept reading it was twisted and tragic. I can promise you if you start this book be prepared for a roller coster of thrills. This author takes you on a journey like non other from the view of the Killer to the way of the hero's. I felt like the author did a great job at catching the struggles of River and Tony and how with River's mom being sick and her fight to keep her mom safe to both River and Tony's struggle with being captured and hunted. I liked Tony he was the strong silent type but you could tell he balanced and kept River ground when it felt like her life was falling apart. Overall I can't say there was one thing I didn't like about this book and I can't wait for more from this Duo. It was well worth the read for sure.

Each book in the Shades of Leverage series is STANDALONE:
* Slater's Revenge
* Dangerous Lies

My thoughts on the book:

If I had to choose a few words to describe this book they would be; intense, twisted and really good. Some fiction books when you are reading it you can see it happening, in this story some of it was so far fetched you know that’s why it’s fiction. But with the twist and turns in this story makes you wonder if just maybe this has happened to someone before. The author keeps you guessing and keeps you drawn in that’s for the hole book. I had the hardest time putting this book down, it truly seem to just fly. This book does have sec and adult language in it. This book for sure was really good. I wonder what OPAQUE will be up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Vow of Silence Melyinda Price

Description:

A killer is hiding in plain sight…

The last thing Homicide Detective Josiah Troyer wants is to return to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and his Amish roots. But a madman is killing young girls and Josiah's expertise with the tight-knit community is very much needed by the FBI. Unfortunately, going home means dealing with his past and the woman he left behind.

Hannah is desperately trying to rebuild her life after the death of her Amish husband, and now, the murder of her sister. Protecting her young son from the violence is her only goal––and then she runs into the last man she expected to see, her ex Josiah. He left her eight years ago to work with the Englishers and forgiving him hasn't been easy.

But the killer has Hannah in his crosshairs, and she and Josiah will have to work together if she's going to survive.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book I have ever read from this author, due to this I am not familiar with this authors writings or other books. I did assume because this was an amish book this was a christian book, so that being said that was my fault for assuming, so this is my review for this book.
 This is NOT a Christian book. It’s starts off very sick and twisted. There is a lot of cursing through out. There is a lot of sex, so if you are looking for a good wholesome story this is not for you. That being said this story will have you guessing throughout the author keeps taking you down “rabbit” holes making you think one thing only to throw another in there and have you thinking another way. She literally has you guessing until almost the end. My heart broke for Eli and the loss he faced and the struggles he faced at such a young age, but I loved how Hannah and Joe had away of making him feel loved and wanted not with words but with actions in times when he was scared. Without giving anything away, Mills is a big part in the story but I seriously felt like I wanted to find him in real life and punch him he was so annoying. This book definitely has a ton suspense and leaves you on the edge of your seat if that’s what you are looking for, then this book won’t disappoint you there.

As people around her drop like flies, the real killer gets too close, and Rose seeks the help of the police officer who knocked on her door one rainy night a year ago.
Royce Sawyer is the cop who’d had to tell Rose that the love of her life was gone forever. Seeing the pretty blonde’s struggles for the last year has been heart-wrenching, but when everyone starts to suspect the quiet wife has a dark side, Sawyer finds it hard to keep his personal feelings separate from his professional ones, especially when it’s obvious that someone’s out to stop him from getting to the truth.

My thoughts on the book:

The first two chapters I was not sure I was going to like this book. It started off with all this information but not much interaction with the characters. I will say this hang in there it got good, really good. This book has so many twists and turns right when you think you know who did it the author throughs you a curve ball out of no where and then you are back to guessing again. I loved how the love that Rose has in her heart for those she loves literally jumps off the pages you can almost picture her face in her mind. I really did not see the end coming I don't care how many clues the author dropped that was a shocker and so amazing. This book does have adult scenes in it but the author did it with enough info it might not offended anyone. This book was so good it is well worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.
