What's the book about:
In this sequel to Second Chances, the small town of Mason has encountered its first murder, and the town’s prime suspect is a scared teen named Jamal Davis. Attorney Wade Anders steps up to defend Jamal with the help of his assistant, Trey Ross. They are now at odds with family and friends but will not be deterred from proving Jamal’s innocence. Trey is also forced to confront two newly discovered siblings who were never recognized as Ross’ heirs and resent their rich half-brother.
A rogue judge disposes of the murder case by denying a trial, and Wade and Trey are baffled and desperate to free their client. At the same time, a federal drug investigation links Trey’s half-brother to a ruthless drug dealer, and Trey and his sister discover that their brother’s illegal activity includes more than selling drugs when they find evidence linked to the murder case. His sister insists that their brother is acting under duress, and Trey’s loyalties are divided between his family and his client.
My thoughts on the book:
Ok so I have to say hands down one of my favorite Novellas. I read the first book and it was really good. This book and the first one are not long in length but do not lack in an amazing storyline. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. The end is really not what I expected, its so much better. I can honestly say that if you are looking for a short read with a lot of action with a little bit of romance that you will not want to put down this is your book.
