Heartbreak Cove Lily Everett (Sanctuary Island Series)

What's the book about:
Welcome to a place where love is in the air, fate is in the stars, and home is just a heartbeat away…
Sheriff Andie Shepard may be new to Sanctuary Island but, like everyone else who comes here, she’s already fallen under its healing spell. Andie is determined to leave her mistakes behind her and make this scenic haven her home. But she just might have to change her plans—as well as open her heart—when an unexpected visitor shows up on her doorstep…

Heartbreak Cove

Caitlin is the ten-year-old niece Andie never knew she had. Silent, wary, and shy as can be, Caitlin only responds to the horses that run wild across the island. Andie has no idea how to deal with Caitlin—until Sam Brennan enters the picture. A tall, handsome loner who rehabilitates abused horses, Sam is able to help Caitlin break out of her shell. But that’s not all: He finds a way to touch something deep in Andie’s heart, opening her up to the healing power of love. Together, these three lost souls must face the darkness in their past to build a brighter future. Because here, on Sanctuary Island, anything is possible…

My thoughts on the book:
First off I rarely give books a five star rating, However this book truly does deserve it. I love the character in the book, I love how they feel more like catching up with a friend then just reading a story about fictional characters. In the beginning I wrote down that Andie was broken, but loved deeply, she was tough but had a soft spot. Sam was running from something but was also hiding from something, he also loved deeply but didn't always show it. When I finished the book I would have to that some of those where not that far off and thats what made the book what it was. The chemistry between the characters and I mean all the main ones will  keep you going from the beginning to the end. I also have to say this is one book I was not ready to stop reading at the end I just wanted to read so much more. I can not wait for Owen's story to come out. This book will not disappoint at all if you are looking for a fun read that has you going through the whole book this is the book for you.

Sandra D. Bricker Interview "On a Ring and a Prayer" * THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED ENJOY THE INTERVIEW

Welcome all, thank you so much for stopping by.
Today I’m very lucky and honored to be interviewing Sandra D. Bricker author of the up and coming book of a  "On a Ring and a Prayer", also known for here series "An Emma Rae Creation".

Hi Sandra, thank you for agreeing to this interview, let’s go ahead and jump right in;

When did you decide to become a writer?

I'm pretty sure I've always known I was going to write. Even from a very young age, I enjoyed creating stories and characters. But I don't think I realized I could actually make a career out of it until I was in my early twenties.

Which writers inspire you?

SO MANY! Some of my contemporary peers in romantic fiction blow me away, like Kristin Billerbeck, Eva Marie Everson and Robin Jones Gunn. I also love to read Frank Peretti, James Patterson, and Rebecca York... As you can see, I'm really moved by good storytelling.

What is the hardest thing about writing?

The disconnect between publishing at last and making an actual living above the poverty level.

What is the easiest thing about writing?

Well, what's really easy about it is this: When God puts a call on your life - whether it's writing fiction, building skyscrapers or teaching children - once it really digs in and you know it's your purpose, everything about it becomes a little easier.

I just love how your books can be deep and funny all at the same time, I find myself laughing and crying. When you are writing your book are you trying to put yourself in the shoes of the reader and hope for this kind of experience?

Not while I'm writing it, no. While I'm writing, I'm busy putting myself in the shoes of the characters. It's not until I do the first set of revisions that I start thinking about how to make the experience as rewarding as possible for my readers. I'm blessed in a way that a lot of writers aren't; I've gotten to know my readers pretty well. So giving them the pay-off I know they're looking for becomes a main objective for me.

When you set out to write your book what kind of audience are you looking to reach?

Even though I do think about my readers, I don't write directly to them. My main goal is to just tell a really fun, uplifting, believable, and thought-provoking story.

What inspired you to write this Series?

Post-Emma Rae, I started wondering if I had anything else to say that would be so well-received or entertaining as they were. When Jessie first came to mind, it was because I understood her plight. My former life in Hollywood as a publicist plays a huge part in impacting the outcome of the story.

Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?

My casting for the Jessie Stanton series came to me within the first two chapters of the first book. Jessie is a young version of Tiffani Thiessen, and Danny has never been anyone to me except Josh Holloway.

My Favorite character in On a ring and a prayer is Stephanie, I just love her. Do you have a favorite character in this series and if so who and why?

When you say Stephanie, do you mean Danny's friend Steph?  She's spectacular, isn't she? My favorite character is definitely Danny. He's so cool and unassuming, and he really has his head on straight in terms of his past and its impact on his present, particularly where his faith is concerned. He and Jessie's grandfather were so much fun to write.

Your right I do Just love Danny, he has such a heart of gold and he is easy to like a lot!

Tells us a little about the book and the books you write for someone who is new to your books.

Starting with Rise & Shine last year, I began transitioning from a "Laugh-Out-Loud" brand of romantic comedy to a meatier "Live-Out-Loud" brand that allows me to go deeper with my characters and plots.

Here's the summary for this book (On a Ring and a Prayer):
Twelve years of marriage, 4,000 square feet of dream house and a handsome husband. Jessie Stanton has it all. Until one fateful afternoon anyway when she notices her BMW bouncing by the window at the end of a tow truck hook. The whirling tornado that cuts down the life she’s built over the last dozen years drops her to the sandy beach of Malibu with a thud, penniless and alone. When all she has left are the designer labels in her closet and the dreamy Neil Lane rock on her finger, Jessie reluctantly turns to a beach bum/private investigator for answers as she tries to rebuild her life On a Ring & a Prayer.

I personally know you are currently writing book two for this series (cause I hounded you about it on Facebook...) what is one thing you can share with us about a glance into the next book?

I have actually completed Be My Valentino, and now I'm working on finishing up the series with the third and final book.
Here's a summary for Be My Valentino:

Now that the whole truth has come out about her husband’s double life, the woman formerly known as Jessie Hart-Stanton is standing on her own for the first time in her life. Adornments “ her rental store for all things LUX “ has become the place to be for D-List stylists and wannabe celebs who can't afford their own designer labels. As Amber and Jessie struggle to put the store on the map in Tinsel Town, Jessie’s relationship with private investigator Danny Callahan takes a dramatic turn. But Jessie can’t afford to put her faith (and heart) into another relationship when she’s so obviously handicapped in the good judgment department, and she has no intention of taking a knee and committing to his God “ the same God who let her spend twelve years being conned by Jack Stanton. She pours herself into making Adornments a success but it isn’t until she dresses a reluctant Danny in Valentino for undercover work at a formal affair that Hollywood takes notice. It seems Danny has been plucked out of the crowd, snapped by photogs, and lands as the unlikely cover model on the front of Hollywood Daily Magazine.

How many books are you planning for this series?

There will be three books in the series. Book 2 is titled Be My Valentino, and it releases this fall. Then Book 3 is tentatively titled From Bags to Riches, due out next spring.

On ring and a Prayer -Sandra D. Bricker

What's the book about:

In a city where everything is gorgeous and expensive, can Jessie Stanton survive on pennies and prayers?Twelve years of marriage, 4,000 square feet of dream house, and a handsome husband. Jessie Stanton has it all… until one fateful afternoon when she notices her BMW bouncing by the window behind a tow truck. Her husband has gone, and he’s taken it all. The whirling tornado that cuts down the life she’s built drops Jessie onto the sandy beach of Malibu with a thud, penniless and alone. When all she’s left with are the designer labels in her closet and the dreamy Neil Lane rock on her finger, Jessie tries to make ends meet by pawning her prized ring to fund a new business venture: a small shop where her designer duds and shimmering accessories are temporarily leased out to Southern California women with champagne tastes but root beer realities. As Jessie tries to rebuild, she realizes she can’t move on, not without answers. Reluctantly, Jessie turns to beach bum/private investigator Danny Callahan for help. But is she staking her future success and happiness…on a ring and a prayer?

My thoughts on the book:

New starts are never easy; there are lots of bumps in the road that get you to new starts and new chapters. Sometimes you have to just pick yourself up and dust yourself off.  Not everyone can relate with the rich and famous but everyone can relate to being betrayed by someone you love and care for so deeply. Jessie is no different she is strong and seems to have a lot going for her. When her life crashes around her she is forced to come face to face with choice that can’t be easy for most of us. The plot and the storyline literally grab you and draw you from one page to the next and keep you there from the beginning of the book till the very end. With each character you feel like you could be friends or know someone in like that. I have to say hands down I will be telling everyone I know about this book, can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out. This book did not disappoint and you cannot go wrong with buy this book.

My Thoughts on each of the main characters in the book:
  • Daniel- free-spirited fun loving surfer guy with a heart to help others and a love for God
  • Amber-a go-getting risk taker with a lot of love and spirit you just want to be around her
  • Stephanie- (I want to be her when I grow up) she seems like a no non sense person with a lot of value in life and friends
  • Piper- a loyal friend, sweet, loving and full of spirit, a true friend
  • Jessie- head strong lets nothing in life stop her, has a big heart but a broken spirit.
  • Riggs- Friend to everyone a big hearted guy with a lot of spirit, not very vocal about things and life
  • Frank- A fun loving friend who thinks he should be loved and honored by everyone who comes in contact with him and everyone needs to know he is that and will not be ignored.
  • Grampy- The most loving person with a big heart of gold who wants the best for all in his life but knows that life is not always sunshine and roses.

Blame The Mistletoe Dani Collins (Montana Born Books series)

What's the book about:
Liz Flowers has never enjoyed Christmas, and a visiting California girl doesn’t have much in common with the ranchers in small town Marietta.
Blake Canon is smitten fast, but then he realizes he knows Liz. She was once married to the brother of his ex-wife.
Their children might be cousins, but Blake and Liz do the kissing—under the mistletoe - until their children arrive home unexpectedly, and family secrets are revealed. Now Liz isn’t sure she’ll stay in Marietta for Christmas after all.

My thoughts on the book:

HOT!!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! I love the chemistry in this book among all of the characters. In the last 4 book I have been reading a lot about Marietta Montana I have to say this book tops them all they all were wonderful but this book draws you in and make you want to visit Marietta and talk and hang out with these characters. This book is short but packed with a lot of fun and it will keep you drawn into the story line from the beginning to the end. If you are looking for a non traditional love story that is short and sweet this is the book for you!!!

A Stitch in Crime Cathy Elliott

What's the book about:

Thea James has accepted an assignment as co-chairperson for Larkindale’s first quilt show extravaganza. Juggling the new assignment with running her antique business, she’s already feeling frayed when things start to unravel.
Mary-Alice Wentworth, a much-loved town matriarch, respected quilt judge, and Thea’s dear friend, is covertly conked on the head during the kick-off Quilt Show Soiree, throwing suspicion on her guests. It also appears that a valuable diamond brooch has been stolen during the attack. The family is furious. But is it because of their mugged mother or the missing diamonds?

When a renowned textile expert goes MIA and the famous Wentworth heritage quilt disappears, Larkindale’s reputation as a tourist haven is at risk. Thea attempts to piece the mystery together and save the town’s investment in the quilt show before Mary-Alice is attacked again . . . with far worse results.

My thoughts on the book:

Thea is the co- chair for the up and coming quilt event, she didn’t expect it to be too much work but it seems like everything has fallen on her. At every corner everything seems to be falling apart, and she can’t figure out how to keep her head in the game and keep this event falling apart before it even takes off.

So I have to say that I expected this book to be on the edge of your seat type of book something to keep you guessing. I have to say for me that was not the case the book seemed very predictable from the beginning and I kept wanting to keep reading in hopes the book would get there. I wanted to have more interaction with Thea and Cole also in the book. The ending tied everything up just in case you hadn’t tied it all together, I did however feel it left you hanging at the end with one thing. Over all I will say the book was a decent read and will keep your attention from the beginning to end. Once I started I did have a hard time putting it down. If you have read other quilt of loves books this will be worth your time to read this one. If you have not this book is still worth the read, the storyline is well written.

Mistletoe Wedding Melissa McClone (Montana born books)

What's the book about:
Event planner Meg Redstone is dreaming of a white Christmas. Twinkling lights, sparkly decorations, and sprigs of strategically placed mistletoe will create a romantic holiday atmosphere for a local couple marrying at the Bar V5 dude ranch. Meg loves making dreams come true for other people, and her new guest services position at the ranch is a dream come true for her. The close-knit staff provides stability and a sense of family. If only that were enough for Meg’s young daughter, Brooklyn, who wants to spend Christmas with her father—a man she’s never met and who wants nothing to do with them.
Ranch foreman Tyler Murphy loves the holidays, but this year, his newest employee has upset Ty’s comfortable, settled lifestyle and taken over his barn with her over-the-top decorations. He admires Meg’s desire to give her kid the perfect Christmas while planning a winter wonderland wedding, but she’s forgotten her roots. He decides to show her that a Montana Christmas is more than glitter and lights, and finds himself enjoying every minute he spends with the pretty single mom and her cute little girl.
Yet, Ty resists the emotions Meg and Brooklyn bring out in him. An instant family is not on his Christmas wish list. He’s promised himself he’ll never do the dad thing again after raising his younger sister, but as the wedding day and Christmas draw near, he finds himself falling hard for both of them. Meg, however, is not interested in a romance with a cowboy like Ty, or any man for that matter. Getting her under the mistletoe is going to take a Christmas miracle . . . or a little help from Santa.

My thoughts on the book:
This is such a sweet love story. I love Brooklyn I feel like even though her part was not as big in the story she made the story what it was. I love the way the story grabs you and keeps you going till the end of the story, a book that makes it hard to put down. This story really put me in the mood for Christmas. I just love love this book.

Holiday At Magnolia Bay Tracy Solheim

What's the book about:
When Navy SEAL Drew Lanham sees Jenna Huntley rising out of Magnolia Bay, she reminds him of the goddess of the sea, but he has to ignore her siren’s call as he’s home on a brief leave trying to recover from a devastating mission where he lost a teammate.
Jenna’s more interested in protecting and studying Sea Turtles and building a local hatchery than in men; except when she first locks eyes with Drew, she realizes he just might be the one man who can pull her out of her lab and into his bed to celebrate Christmas Magnolia Bay style.

My thoughts on the book:
I love Jenna and Drew's story and oh man I just love love aunt Evie. I love the story line only thing I feel it I wish it was a little cleaner not so much sex and the story still would have been good. either way the book is worth the read it quick and sweet and keeps your attention all the way to the end.
