The Family Man Kelly Eadon

What's the book about:

TEMPTATION NEVER TASTED SO SWEET...

When life hands lemons to Beth Beverley, she makes mouthwatering lemon squares. Mostly because they're coveted by the sexy single dad who owns Belmont's most popular coffee shop. But that's where her crush on Griffin has to end. Her sweet treats are selling like crazy cakes in his shop, and she doesn't mix business with pleasure. Too bad his sinful smile has her flirting with the idea of forever.
Griffin Hall definitely needs to keep his eyes--and his hands--off Beth. Since he's traded in late-night gigs and partying for bedtime stories with his little girl in his arms, he doesn't have time for anything else. So why does Beth's big heart and easy way with his daughter make him finally feel alive again? But there's a little secret Beth doesn't know, something he can't bear to tell her . . .

My thoughts on the book:
Beth is starting over again so she working 3 part time jobs and she just enjoys making her muffins and her delivery especially to the very sexy business owner Griffin. She works so hard to get his attention to put a smile on his face every time she makes that delivery, but when she finds out he has a daughter she wonders if they can have a relationship and if she can make it work. Griffin gave up his life of traveling and parting for the best thing that has ever happen to him his daughter. He really can not take his eyes off of Beth overtime he sees her and he wonders if he can date and protect his caught and give her the best life he know she deserves. But he's keeping a secret and he knows that he needs to tell Beth before they go any further but will he hold off to long and loose everything he holds precious to him?
Kelly has done it again, she knocked it out of the park. I really enjoyed this book.  I love the crazy, quirky fun loving people in this book. I loved the fun role Griffin's daughter May played in the book she just was such a pistol with a sweet personality. I had a hard time putting this book down I know its like 250 pages but it didn't feel like that all I was kind of sad to see it end, because it was just that good. There are some adult scenes and strong language in the book so the book may not be for everyone but those who don't mind this book is so worth the read and very, very enjoyable. It's full of laughs and full of heart of the matter as well.

The Hunter Bride, Cynthia Woolf

What's the book about:
Five years ago, a band of outlaws murdered Josephine Shafter's parents and younger brother. Desperate for vengeance, Jo has spent every day since serving the law as a bounty hunter. But the trouble with justice served is that now that her family's killer has been brought in, she has nothing to do and no one to hunt. She decides it may be time for a new life and a fresh start. She longs for the arms of a strong man around her, and for a child of her own. But the Chicago dandies don't know how to kiss a woman who is tougher than they are. Jo decides her best chance at happiness is to head out West, to the wild Montana territory, to start a new life as a mail order bride.

Sam Longworth has been the Sheriff of Hope's Crossing, Montana for two miserable years. He was much happier roaming the untamed plains as a bounty hunter, bringing outlaws to justice. But that was no life for a husband or father, and his wife wanted him home, safe and sound, every night. Forced into marriage, theirs had never been a love match, but he thought warming her bed every night would be enough. Instead she left him and took a stagecoach to rendezvous with her childhood sweetheart. She vowed never to return, and died on the journey.

Plagued by guilt over her death, Sam doesn't need a woman's love, he just needs a wife. He orders a mail order bride, a woman who won't make too many demands, who can build a home and give him children. Josephine fits his life perfectly, until danger follows her to her new home and he realizes she's keeping secrets that could get them both killed. Trust is a hard road for two lost souls used to keeping secrets, and their new and fragile love might not be strong enough to survive what's coming.

My thoughts on the book:
For five years Jo has hunted and finally brought her families killer to justice and its time to start over and find a new life. When she starts and communicate with Sam she will tell him just about anything as long its not the full truth to protect her and get him to like her. Sam has some secrets of his own and he has made it clear he will never love anyone again. When both are left chasing a bounty they are starting to wonder if its time to come clean with each other or will Jo leave to keep her heart safe?

I wasn't sure what to think of this book at first, this book ended up completely enjoyable. During this time period in the book women were mostly treated like they were to be seen and not heard. Jo broke those expectations she was feisty and strong will and let nothing hold her back she knew what she want and went for it.  The author did a good job keeping the time frame and the characters fun and enjoyable with some tense moments and some laughable moments. There are some adult scenes in the book they are between a married couple but they are there, so this book may not be for everyone. A few times I did have a hard time putting the book down needing to find what was happening next, however towards then end of the book it seems almost rush like it was needing to tie the book altogether to come to and end. So I would say I have a love/dislike relationship with this book.

OH MY GOSH is all i have to say this book was amazing on the edge of your seat needed to know what is going to happen can not put down for anything kind of book. After a few chapters I thought I had it all figured out and just kept reading the longer it went on it made me wonder if I did. Sea Rose Lane, Irene Hannon A Hope Harbor Novel Book #2

What's the book about:

Two people starting over . . . in a town known for second chances
After a devastating layoff, attorney Eric Nash heads back to Hope Harbor--only to discover that his childhood home is being transformed into a bed and breakfast. Instead of plotting his next career move in peace, he's constantly distracted by noise, chaos--and BJ Stevens, the attractive but prickly blonde architect who's invaded the house with her motley crew. As for BJ, her client's son might be handsome, but after a disastrous romance, dating isn't high on her agenda. Yet when they join forces for to help Hope Harbor seniors, might they also find healing, hope, and a new beginning themselves?

Come home to Hope Harbor--where hearts heal . . . and love blooms

My thoughts on the book:
After a layoff Eric heads home for a short vacation and gets another surprise when he walks into his dads remodel could this day get any worst. He needs to plan his next career move and he's in the middle of a construction zone. But as he's faced with things and helping out his dad's architect he wonders if he knows the choices he's going to make or if he's running from something?
BJ is true to right a wrong and she knows that her plan can help a ton of people and knows that it just has to work, but when faced with some kick back she wonders if she failing the people of Hope Harbor. Will BJ be able to protect her heart and those close to her or will she be at risk again of loosing it all when she is thrown together with Eric to help with Helping Hands?

There are two main chapters in this book and 2 sub characters each play an important part to the story and have an equal part in the book, its not hard to keep up with who or what is going on so that really nice. Each character seems to be running from something that has happened huge in their past and the struggle is very hard. The storyline is well written and is easy to enjoy the characters. I think in both the first book and this one Charley is my favorite and I am not sure if the author is trying but in my eyes he's and angel and seems like such a sweet man. I really enjoyed Hope Harbor and the togetherness the community offers.
The only downside I found was it felt like the book dragged a little in some places. Over all this is a good clean romance and completely an enjoyable read.

Hope Harbor, Irene Hannon

What's the book about:
Tracy Campbell never wanted to leave Hope Harbor, Oregon, or the idyllic three-generation cranberry farm where she grew up. But life–and love–altered her plans.

When tragedy strikes and changes her plans yet again, she finds herself back in her hometown with a floundering farm to run and a heartbreaking secret. Romance is not on her agenda. Nor is it on Michael Hunter’s. The visitor from Chicago has daunting secrets of his own. But when Tracy recruits him to help save a struggling charitable organization, the winds of change begin to sweep through Hope Harbor, bringing healing, hope, and love to countless lives–including their own.

My thoughts on the book:

Tracy Campbell is home in Hope Harbor she's hard at work on her family cranberry farm and working hard at saving it. She has experienced a lot of loss in her life and at this point her only focus is getting and keeping the farm in black and maybe she can let go of the guilt and regret she has lived with for the last two years. Michael has just come to Hope Harbor to visit and in hopes of finding answers he also needs to find forgiveness and hopes that the town of Hope Harbor will live up to its name and bring him Hope. When Tracy comes crashing into his life he knows it just one more he needs to correct but he needs to figure out how he can do that and still find the hope he is seeking.  Ann is a recluse and has been for some time and when she find Micheal on the street corner she knows she needs to help him and she's completely drawn to him for only one reason will she be able to keep her reclusive lifestyle and help him? Will all three find the forgiveness they are seeking or will it be to late?
I really enjoyed this book 100%. The book has three main characters and the author did an amazing job tying them all together in the storyline, it was easy to keep up with and was completely enjoyable book. Each character is dealing with forgiveness and weather forgiving themselves or forgiving someone else they struggle with the guilt. The characters were very relatable and I found it easy to fall in love with them and they felt more like catching up with a friend the reading a book about fictional characters. You really can not go wrong with this book so amazing.

Apple of His Eye, Kelly Caldwell

What's the book about:

When Rob King, who is courting Tabitha Beiler, must go away for a time to aid his ailing grandfather, he charges his best friend, John Miller, with the care and keeping of the beautiful girl of his heart. John, who has been Rob’s best friend since boyhood, accepts the responsibility with serious intent. But John discovers that it is his own traitorous heart that must be guarded as he finds himself falling hopelessly in love with his best friend’s girl.

As time goes on, Tabitha begins to see the serious differences between Rob and John, and she discovers the meaning of infatuation versus real love. But it is only through her baking that she can speak fully of where her heart now lies.,

How will Tabitha admit her love for John when doing so could mean the loss of a lifelong friendship? And how will the sweetness of a treasured pie recipe reveal a love of tender but unspoken devotion?

My thoughts on the book:
John Miller is doing his best friend a favor and keeping an eye on his best girl while he is called away to tend to family matters. While keeping an eye on Tabby and the lies start piling up to his family and his community he states to realize he might need to protect her from him and he knows he need to protect his heart as well. Tabby is so desperately missing Rob and knows he needs to come home soon so they can work on there new relationship, she wonders why his best friend hears from him but she does not and starts to question if Rob even loves her. With her Uncle making a surprise visit she is forced to hide her true feeling for Rob and for John Miller. But will she finally come clean and tell the man she loves, she loves him or will it be to late and she has lost a friend and caused problems in the community?
I really enjoyed to storyline over all this is a good clean book for all ages. I however did not like the going back and fourth between so many characters, even thought John and Tabitha were the main characters I found it distracting with input from others, there seem to be no transitioning between the characters either. I always enjoy reading the life style of the amish and this book was the same way. I enjoyed the love and hate relationship the author gave with the uncle. I felt there was a lot of seriousness to the book and it could have used some laughed. Overall the book is good for all ages.
